Been to midwife yesterday, and was a very brave girl as I let the student take my blood! The mw was sat right next to me saying yes, just there, yes at that angle etc! Well everyone has to start somewhere and I am used to having all sorts of nurses and blood donor people stick pins in me! And the needle the blood lot use is huge compared with the blood test needle!

Hope you are doing ok FairyG and are looking after yourself.

Wotcha everyone else!

UmBongo · 04/03/2012 19:22

Yikes! I am not looking forward to my very accident prone ds (who can fall over his own legs in a large open space) attempting to pick up the baby! I hope it is a head holder like ds was and then it will be a little more robust (and then it won't mind when I forget to hold its head cos I never had to remember with its big brother!)

HalleLouja · 03/03/2012 20:47

My mum is fab in a crisis. Rubbish day to day with mini stresses but fab in a crisis. She told me babies bounce when DS was born but she was as scared as me.

DS has a new game. Its called carry the baby. Apparently he wants to be a big boy like daddy....

UmBongo · 03/03/2012 15:46

Lou - you had your mum there!!! (Just been reading the mum present in labour thread!) I have no intention of having my mum anywhere near me! I fact we told no-one I was in labour last time and will only tell MIL this time as she or FIL will need to come over to look after ds. My mum will only be told when all is finished! Must remember to swear mil to secrecy and hope my mum doesn't ring while we are out!

Mum is a world class panicker (i know that is not a word but that is what she does!) And I really don't think she would help.

HalleLouja · 02/03/2012 20:16

I think a saucepan may be your only solution fivealive.

Not long now. I am getting broody but don't want to go through this baby stage again. So no more.

UmBongo · 02/03/2012 17:59

I've got cobwebs Lou, you can have some of mine. I can't move fast enough to dust them. I am 33 weeks today and got so little sleep last night Aaaaargh. Between waking myself up and dh coughing I think I was awake about 6 times in 7 hours. At least when the baby arrives I will have a more credible reason for no sleep.

Been to Boots today for night nurse stuff. If that doesn't knock dh out then a swift clatter round the back of the head with a pan might Hmm

Hugs to FairyG, I hope you are doing ok and are taking good care of yourself.

HalleLouja · 02/03/2012 11:11

Hello anyone here. I need to dust some cobwebs away.

FG I hope you are giving yourself time to recover and be looked after.

HalleLouja · 26/02/2012 21:00

My postnatal group are definitely not normal...

UmBongo · 25/02/2012 19:36

I am not on an ante natal group - I am just on here! I would probably have to try to be normal and I am not very good at that!

Have a load more cider from me too Fairy, take your time and go smoke on the swings with the cider.

HalleLouja · 24/02/2012 21:20

My antenatal group is now a postnatal group and we hide away in a secret group on fb. They don't get the cider but do get the dodgy jokes.

Icedlemonmuffin · 24/02/2012 21:04

Well I'm here with cheap value cider (cheaper than water) and some After eights (left over from Xmas) and lots of hugs and tissues. The park is a great place for a good scream and cry.

I was never brave enough to join an antenatal group and I think I would have scared them with my sparkly thong, pink fugg boots and my Jeremy Kyle fixation (only for style tips honest Grin)

It took me a while to get back on my feet after my mmc so just be kind to yourself and we are all here if you need to chat or just to vent.

HalleLouja · 24/02/2012 20:10

I didn't really join the antenatal group I am on until I was about to give birth.... Then I bumped into one of the people on my thread. Twas bizarre. Especially as before DD was born I was in hospital for ages and she was the only I properly talked to.

FG if you need to cry we are here. We are also here with strongbow and other fancy ciders. Oh and castaway and thongs.

Fairygodmother1 · 24/02/2012 19:23

Thank you all! Pain seems to have gone & bleeding is slowing down. Back to SWI!!!! I obviously like the park too much that I couldn't bear to leave!!! I will never cross over to the pregnancy forums again untill I'm at least 12 weeks & have a scan!

Fairygodmother1 · 21/02/2012 13:16

Hi ya, just waiting for a call back from the on call dr as GPs are shut for training! The blood has turned red & sticky with like egg white mucus which reminds me of the beginning of my period. Also feel periody! EPu still won't see me unless a dr or A&E send me!!!

Yay to crawling!!!! How time flies!

Lemony I love your kids!!!! Grin
