hippychick66 · 15/03/2011 12:41

Sorry didn't mean to speak in bold. Put the in the wrong place.

hippychick66 · 15/03/2011 12:39

I don't know what is going on. I mention moving to the Island and BB jumps in and is off to that secret place begining with L Grin and now Tina thinks she can top my move with a little hop over to the other side of the world Shock

Seriously though tina am totally jealous. Went to Oz a million lifetimes ago when I was 24 and young free and single. Was there really a time when I didn't know my DH and had no knowledge of my two lovely sons???? Yes, Hippy there was.

tina you still have to keep in touch with us though - you'll just be on here at odd times like gum.

gum hope the taste in your mouth is a good sign. FX

TinaO99 · 15/03/2011 12:17

gum I definitely won't be complaining about the heat Grin we have a friend there, that's about it, just want a better life and more opportunities and as we're in our early 40s it's got to be sooner rather than later!

My hubby can get in on a skilled visa and then hopefully i'll get work fairly quickly when we get there

can't wait to be honest as I've had enough of the weather and lifestyle here, my only regret is my daughter, she's 20 this year and at the moment won't come with us, we're adding her to the visa just in case but it will be heart breaking to leave her but at her age she'll be leaving home before too long anyway and this is our last chance

hopefulgum · 15/03/2011 12:10

Tina, that's very exciting that you want to live in Western Australia - I'm in the south, about 5 hours south of Perth.

Perth is a nice city - but does get very hot in the summer. My eldest son lives there and complains about how hot it gets because he works outdoors. Today was 35 degrees celcius, but that's not as hot as some days. But it is clean and has nice beaches, and Rottnest Island is only a half hour ferry ride away and the island is my most favourite place in the whole world.

I like Melbourne better than Perth, in terms of it being a city. It's really well set out - has great public transport and is great for the arts. It also has the advantage of being closer to Sydney,Queensland and Tasmania. Western Australia is fairly isolated, but we love it. I'm not a city girl, so I don't really mind.

Do you have family or friends in Perth?

Nothing to report here.Have had a yucky taste in my mouth all day, but although I get that when I'm pregnant I just looked over my other charts and I've had it many times when I haven't been pregnant.

Waiting sucks.

TinaO99 · 15/03/2011 11:22

well hippy and beattie I have a valuation set up on our house for the 26th march and have TONS of painting tidying and general maintenance etc to do before we put the house on the market but am hoping it can go on in may

any tips for selling would be appreciated! We're selling up prior to emigrating but am hoping for a quick sale so we can get into cheaper accommodation so we can start saving, at the moment the mortgage is crippling us

BeattieBow · 15/03/2011 11:16

oh hippy didn't see that bit of your post. My dh is quite similar - just keeps putting obstacles in the way that we need to solve before we can move. In our case, before we can rent our house out. It's annoying because I don't feel that he ever comes up with solutions, just the problems.

Easter is a prime time to get the house on the market - so tell him to pull his finger out!

hippychick66 · 15/03/2011 11:02

tina ((())) I know it's hard. But maybe it's just her turn right now. Always remember we don't know how long it took her to get preg or what problems she's had in the past (or maybe you do and I'm talking shit Grin). Anyway, try not to look at all her stuff and just focus on making that lovely ripe egg.

BB Yes, it is good to have other stuff to concentrate on isn't it? Even if it's planning how to kill your hubbie!!! I see now why the clomid. Shame it didn't do it's job for you.

TinaO99 · 15/03/2011 10:31

hippy I like the super duper eggs idea lol, got a flipping woman sitting near me at work thats a couple of months preggers and already has bits and bobs of baby stuff hanging around on her desk (books etc) grrr I don't need to see it it's like rubbing salt in my wounds!

BeattieBow · 15/03/2011 10:24

aargh just lost a message!

hippy I'm taking it because it can apparently help with LP issues and womb lining. But there are a small proportion of women who it has an adverse effect on and may cause thinning of womb lining. Typical it is me!

anyway, another scan tomorrow to see how things are going and to look at my follicles! Yesterday's one did identify some follicles which is good which shows ov is close to occurring. but I knew I ovulate anyway.

I feel ok now just concentrating on holiday and moving.

tina I thought about emigrating too - watched Phil Spencer in Australia recently and thought it looked lovely. Unfortunately our "trades" aren't on the list so it doesn't look as though we can go! I like the look of Melbourne I think, but don't know anything about it!

Your beach does look lovely gum. very different from my local beach!

hippychick66 · 15/03/2011 10:09

Tina - I hope you do get to ovulate and that it's just running a bit late this month. I'm in a similar position. Day 12 yesterday and still no smiley face on an OPK - usually get a pos on about day 10. BUT I did look back and see that last time I got pregnant I didn't get a positive until day 12. Maybe my body and yours are taking extra time to make super duper eggs this month.

Isaboo - I have also taken many digital tests apart. I would assume that I was preggers if I saw that second faint line (a line is a line etc) but having read what Gum put I am not so sure now. Sorry, it must be bloody torture - why not try a first response with a good strong morning urine. Good luck. I did laugh at you saying that the stick pompously told you you were not pregnant.

Italian - Oh go on then, you can have Paella (but Diege is soo not gonna make it for you what with her being violently sick and all that). I agree about the Disney Ads. Fortunately my boys don't want to go there. To quote one of them:- That creepy mouse follows you around!!

diege good news about the sickness. I know it's horrid but you didn't get it last time and that's how you kinda knew all was not well. So as crap as it is at least you know things are establishing themselves.

lou Good luck back at work. It must be awful to have to go back and face people giving you there sympathy. BUT at least you have a little secret to keep you going (something esle to worry about more like Grin)

jolls So sorry you got AF. I totally agree about the planning to be pregnant and fat and so not bothering. I have revised my expectations too, just like you and BB.

But remember that lia was very down and sure she wasn't gonna get pregnant any time soon and look at her now. You have got pregnant before and you will again, my sweet.

BB sorry that clomid is not working well for you. Can you remind me why you are taking it please???

I am so fucked off about this house. Yes you heard me, fucked off. My DH is a lovely man but if he adds one more job to the 'To Do Before Photo's List' I will kill him with my bare hands Angry. I currently have 5 things on my list and he has 11. Some of them are quite small quick things but I'm bloody convinced he adds things when I'm not looking. In the meantime people in RL and the Estate agent are asking ME constantly what is the delay. Arrggghhhh

TinaO99 · 15/03/2011 09:07

thanks diege and isaboo am still hopeful that I will get a peak, still a high this morning and I had to break into a new box of testing sticks!

Isaboo I peeled apart one of those cheap testing sticks the other week to try and prove it was wrong lol, so I know where you're coming from!

gum am i roght in thinking you're in oz??? If so you lucky thing! we're hoping to emigrate there next year - just going through the visa process and planning on heading to perth when we get it :-)

BeattieBow · 15/03/2011 08:52

hi there, no news here. Sorry about the negative test isaboo. I hate those digital tests myself and steer clear. It's depressing enough anyway to get a bfn but those make it worse somehow.

As for me, I had a scan yesterday and it showed that i am one of the small proportion of people that clomid thins the womb lining for. Going back for another scan tomorrow (haven't ov'ed as of today), but I'm not sure what they do if womb lining too thin. A quick google shows that they can either give you progesterone or oestrogen to thicken the lining but I'm not sure about that! Anyway, sod's law that it has adverse effects on me.

Hope you don't feel too rotten diege but glad you are feeling sick anyway iyswim.

The woman I know who had a mc just after me last year is due to give birth any day now. things like that make me feel a bit sad - time has just flown by. then again we're focusing on our holiday and moving house and work is so busy that I don't have much time to dwell on it now.

Italiangreyhound · 15/03/2011 00:47

That sound be the man, no the mad, !!!

Italiangreyhound · 15/03/2011 00:46

Isaboo* sorry about the BFN.

Curly I'm much more of a Franko person than a yankee, rather go to Paris than Florida any day. But yes, those ads, my goodness guilt on a plate!

Did anyone watch One born every minute tonight? The mad who said to his wife/partner in labour about slicing and dicing and his fear being something would happen to her and he would be left holding the baby! I would have clobbered him one!

I felt quite sad for the 18 year old. Can't imagine my dd arriving pregers at 18, I mean she seemed very happy with baby and all but it's very early, or seems so to me. The nurses with her were brilliant.

Love and hugs to all
Brew Brew

hopefulgum · 14/03/2011 23:52

Morning All. Deige, sorry to hear your hyperwhatsit is here, but glad in that the pregnancy sounds promising. I hope the drugs are helpful. I read an article on the "mothering" website about a lady who had hyperemisis for her first 4 pregnancies, then for her fifth decide to try marijuana - apparently it worked. She was able to eat and keep food down. She seemed to think any negative side effects outweighed the benefits as her other babies had been malnourished. It all sounded a bit strange, but it worked for her.Personally, I'd be concerned about my baby being born paranoid and apathetic!

Well, I'm now 3 dpo according to fertility friend, so here I go again with the tww. I really hope this is my last ttw, but I'm not getting my hopes up (or so I tell myself, like every tww).

Isaboo, I'm sorry about the "not pregnant". I know some people love the digital test because you don't have to squint at a line, but personally, those words hurt so much, I always do a different test first, and if it is positive, I'll brave the digi.
I hope you are actually pregnant. Have you tried a first response? They are good for picking up HCG early.
Unfortunately the digital will have two blue lines whether there is HCG present or not. Have a look at this site:www.peeonastick.com/hpt/digitalsecret.html
She says:"the second line may appear even if you are not pregnant, because the antibodies in the "results zone" are NOT testing ONLY for pregnancy hormone."

Of course that doesn't mean you aren't pregnant, but I just thought you should know those tests can be misleading.

BB how did the scan go? How are you feeling on the clomid?

Well, I must run.Charlie has daycare today, so I'd better get organised.

Oh, yeah - it is a beautiful beach where I live. I know how lucky I am. It is probably the most expensive suburb in our city, and even though we don't fit into the inome bracket here (teachers aren't paid all that well) we really went out on a limb financially to build here. It has been hard, but so worth it, and the price of real estate has really risen out here, so it was worth doing.

Yesterday I went to the beach and there were blue bottles all over the beachwww.australianfauna.com/bluebottlejellyfish.php. I got stung unfortunately, and I didn't even go swimming! One got on my ankle while I was walking, and when I flicked it off it got on my knee! The sting isn't too bad, just a bit annoying and when I got home I put some vinegar on it which did the trick. So although it is a beautiful beach, it's not without its faults!

Curlylox · 14/03/2011 20:36

Good luck lou for tomorrow. Sorry you're not feeling great diege. Both of you be sure to let us know how you get on with scan at epu, am excited for you both. Isaboo.....fingers crossed I don't want to say anything more in case I jinx it. Italian I completey sympathise re those Disneyland Paris ads as my DD does the same. Did price it up Shock it is pretty expensive, I would rather spend a bit more and go to Disneyworld in Florida for longer and fit in a few days by the beach too, weather is guaranteed which is a bonus. Oi missus (hippy) have you got your house straight yet, have the estate agents been? Gum thanks for the info much appreciated and you are blessed to live with a beautiful beach on your doorstep. How goes it bb? Much you have crossed my mind, do hope you are ok. Hugs to Jolls Lia Tina Alba Shandy Panashe Nicole Ooooh Tank and anyone else I may have missed.
CD18 here not much to report other than doing 21 day progesterone test this week and funnily enough my boobs don't feel tender/sore as they usually do by now which results in me getting hopeful. To be honest think af will arrive as she usually does by next week ho hum.

OP posts:
Isaboo · 14/03/2011 18:18

Diege sorry I feel really mean now wishing you morning sickness. it was for all the right reasons! is great pregnancy is establishing itself... sorry you are feeling rotten ...

Lou good luck going back to work tomorrow will be good to have a distraction as the days will go quicker

Tina don't give it up yet my Oday was late this time but came eventually

Got a BFN (CD28 and no spotting yet) this morning from one of those digital things. I have never used one before and I am inclined to be suspicious of them. " NOT PREGNANT" it said pompously so I had a bit of a weep and then I thought I " I will not accept automated peestick is right" ...so I decided to break into its computerised heart with DH's nail scissors and discover the truth....( yes I am aware I am fully nuts and need to see a therapist ) and after a bit of huffing and puffing and feverish glancing back and too between the nasty damp strips inside and the clearblue website I found I had two v feint blue lines which it obviously wasn't going to mention....soooo I am

  1. still in with a chance
  2. probably mad
  3. content that I have struck back against the negative peestick HA

I have bought some first response but not sure if I can face it just yet ......also I will not be admitting any of the above to anybody else

Happy Monday to all

Diege · 14/03/2011 11:38

Morning! Hope everyone's well. X-factor was good fun, though the screams for One Direction (or 'Wand Erection' as I think they can them on MN) were a little overwhelming. Friend enjoyed herself though (it was her birthday treat)and it would good to stay over and not have the usual 6am alarm.
Sorry for af Jolls although that's good about the lack of any real spotting beforehand.
Tina I wouldn't get too concenred as yet about disappearing ov - you're still well within 'normal# ov timescale, although I do see where you're coming from re: what's usual for you.
BB must be good to be having the scans and feel thagt you at least have some control. How is the clomid going?
Lou, glad the kidle is living up to expectations...I bought a paperback from Waterstones at the weekend and thought of you as I was handing over my £7.99 Grin
Italian lol at out of context threads - not sure I can remember that one!
Well hyperemesis has hit last night - nothing quite like a 2am vomit alarm clock. So I have taken assertive action and have seen the emergency GP this morning who has prescribed me cyclizine. It's one of the older anti-emetics and has a long track record of being safe in the first trimester, so ok about taking it ( I think).
Oh and lou just reading your post has promoted me to ring EPU - they are ringing me back so fingers cropssed I'll have a scan date soon. Oh and snap re: booking in. Gp asked me if I'd like him to refer me to the midwife today but I said no I'll wait for the scan and then ring up!

louisesh · 14/03/2011 10:03

Tina I m sure this month will be a one off.As i said i ve had the same and you re still not out this month yet.Chin up chuck [I know it stinks]Smile

BB Enjoy your scan. How interesting.EEK living in the "big smoke" we re off to London at the end of May to see "Billy Elliot" love London for a weekend but couldn t live there!!!!!

Hi Italian i m fine.Thanks.How are you? I think theres a need for the bistro to be open more , particularly in these days of a recession surely they can t be making any profits???? Open once a week???? Nice work if you can get it!!! Wonder whats happening with LIA?????

Jolls sorry af got you.But we have to look at the positive as your acc says , but its still a pisser.I know i feel a little better when i start improving my diet. Not been swimming for 2 weeks so not good.Got rip roaring thrush at the moment [lovely] so don t want to aggrevate it by swimming at the moment.

Diege how you doing? My Kindle is totally fabulous much slimmer than is shown on the tv.You know you re going to end up with one!!!! You rung epu yet girl??????

Hippy morning old mucker1!!! You ok? Hope you ve got that bloody tip of a house cleaned up?????

Hi Shandy hope you re ok?

Hi Isaboo hope you feel a bit better.

Hi Gum good for ewcm yeh!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone else hope all are well? Been to the drs for a return to work note but apparently don t need one now and shes going to speak to my community midwive to complete my referral back to my consultant once i ve rung them after the scan. She wanted me to make a booking in appointment with Chris[my midwive] as none left to April now but, said i ll wait until i ve had the scan.Superstitious me????????????????

Last day of freedom, work tomorrow, well i say work only theres Tues and Thurs am this week. Now thats my kind of working week!!!!

TinaO99 · 14/03/2011 09:18

morning all - thanks to Diege et al for the info on agnus castus, I've decided to stop using it as really there wasn't anything wrong with my cycles before I just thought it might help with progesterone production so had a go with it.

I'm on day 15 now still on a high with no sign of ovulation so I'm pretty hacked off, am hoping this is just a one off and I'm back to normal next time, but it's stressed me out worrying.

Yesterday hubby and I went to the pub and there was a beautiful little girl that kept waving at me, I had tears in my eyes and felt really distressed as i want one myself sooo much Sad

BeattieBow · 14/03/2011 08:26

hi all, no news here. CD10 but still no peak etc. another scan today to check the follicles though which is always interesting.

sorry af arrived jolls - understand what you mean about revising expectations - I've done the same, and it is slightly easier. I have actually started losing some weight now too, like you I was expecting to be pg and fat and was going to wait until after that. But instead I am just fat. The thought of me in photos on holiday has spurred me on a bit.

shandy I stopped taking my temp as it was too unreliable. Like you I woke up at different times, or had restless nights, and it just skewed the charts too much. Now I just rely on opks (obviously not too successfully) and think I dtd over ovulation pretty much. then I am spared the tyranny of the thermometer and obsessive reading of my charts.

Hello to everyone else!

We were in L this weekend - looks like the move is going ahead. eek.!

Italiangreyhound · 14/03/2011 00:13

Yes, Lol as it is a virtual bistro I think I should be able to visit whenever I like!

Isaboo Yes, we are broke too, but I kind of resent the pressure from Disney to take my kid there, she is quoting the ads at me, it makes me mad!

How is everyone?

Panshe, Tina how are you ladies doing?

And lovely Lou, Louise how are you?

Can anyone tell me if Lia had her baby yet?

Diege all Ok with you?

I accidently started reading back on an old thread from Feb where you were all dancing in 3 inch heels (Muchlove) and pissed and slurring your words Hippy - it was quite surreal when I realised it was out of date!

Jolls, Alba, Gum, Tank, Nicole, OooohShiny, Curley, Shandybass and Lol - Waves and hugs and baby dust to all*.

randomimposter · 13/03/2011 23:13

just popping in quickly before bed...

CD1 today with a vengeance, with only a tiny bit of coloured mucus yesterday. My acu says that's a good thing, so am focusing on that Grin. It's also been much heavier than recently (the last couple of years really) and TMI ALERT was quite clotty, at one point very much so - quite disconcerting what I was passing.

Sad of course, but I had revised my expectations as didn't expect to be pregnant as seemingly I am no longer as fertile as before (3pgs in 12 months, 2 of them first month). A little BFO there for you. Bleedin' feckin' obvious Grin.

Have decided I must start eating better/less crap. And stop drinking! As it's looking unlikely I'm going to be pregnant any time soon, I really MUST lose some weight for the summer. Relying on being pregnant is no tactic for dealing with the nightmare that is summer wardrobe...!

Hope everyone's ok x

shandybass · 13/03/2011 20:40

Thank you isaboo. I'll keep going and try and see the pattern. I'm just getting very impatient with it all. It all looks so obvious in Toni's book and it's got my mind wandering to pre-menopause, thyroid and all those other things mentioned in the book.

Fingers crossed and everything else for you on Cd27 and counting.

Isaboo · 13/03/2011 17:35

Shandy Bass I have got rid of the thermometer because it really really got me down in the end but for what its worth my temps really jumped around depending on wether i had been drinking, had a disturbed night or was a bit under the weather but there was a rise to a higher level. This tended to be a bit of a gradual thing rather than immediately obvious jump and easier to see at the end of the month. It gave me more of a general "hit zone" of a few days rather than one specific day for Oday . The one month there was no shift I had a very strange one day AF and then another one 15 days later, my temps went up on CD4 or something strange like that ...think it all happened very late or something ? you have got to bear in mind that temperature will only rise after the big O and can rise slowly rather than in one big slug ...hope that helps.

Gum I want to live where you do...would improve the dog walk no end if not the dogs behaviour

Italian have never done Disney but I am trying to fob the kids off with Alton Towers this summer due to house renovation induced dire poverty so no real holiday on offer....seems to be working so far

CD 27 now and feel rubbish today headache tired etc trying v hard not to read anything into it... keep calm and carry on

Happy w/e to all
