woohoo over here

Just a quick one, Lol, to reassure you, first AF after a MC often very painful and a lot heavier than usual (kind of a final clearout Sad) so what you're experiencing is probably fairly normal though horrid. In my experience it brought it all back again and was a depressing time. Hope that helps a little, didn't want to see your worries unanswered.

hippychick66 · 22/03/2011 14:59

I have been approached by my reflexologist and asked if I want to sell 'FOREVER' products. They are quite expensive but I'm told they are all natural and last ages. I'm not keen to do it because I'm sure I couldn't even sell Fur coats to naked eskimos but just thought I'd ask... what do you think I should do?? Steer clear???

min I cannot begin to imagine how much pain you have been through or to understand how you keep going. You must be very strong or very determined or both. Hang around here with us and hopefully you will get your take home baby that you so rightly deserve. what is an lc? You said you had them from your first marriage. I'm guessing lovely children ??? Hmm

hairy I see what you mean now. I was wondering how they can possibly know how many eggs and what quality you have left hanging about at the back of your cupboards. Must be lovely to have a success story in the family but hard cos it probably makes you want it all even more. Lovely to see you back here again (although obviously would rather you were on the preggo threads).

hairylights · 22/03/2011 13:21

Hi Min. So, so sorry for all your losses, I don't know how you cope. Three has been devastating for me.

Sounds like we are in a similar boat, but I've not yet been 'diagnosed'.

Been told my mc's could be due to anything and not to assume age/egg quality.

Have you had recurrent MC tests? All the medica people seem to think I should keep trying - but on the other hand until I know if it's a 'womb environment' issue or an 'egg issue' it seems harsh to try and potentially put myself through that again.

hairylights · 22/03/2011 13:18

Hi Hippy and Hopeful good to 'see' you both.

Yes, three has been hard

Pregnant April 10 - miscarriage resolved June 10 but had been very low hcg so not 'really' pregnant. Was a pregancy of unknown location, suspected ectopic

Pregnant again Sept 10 - Saw heartbeat at 7 weeks, missed miscarriage detected at ten weeks in November (baby was size of 8.5 weeks) - had to have erpc (twice!) First ERPC completely failed, no tissue removed!

Pregnant again January - pregnancy not progressing, egg sac of 1cm detected at 7 weeks :(

Am now waiting to be referred for tests for recurrent miscarriage 'you have to have three, to get tested' aaaarggggghhhh!

Hippy the test I have had ws an AMH test, which is still experimental and only 70% proven ... so it's very much an estimate. I'm just over the moon that it did not come back 'low'.

I've also had day 3 FSH/LH test done (also privately) and am waiting for that result.

I'm seeing a consultant on Tuesday via the NHS - and hope to be referred to the recurrent MC clinic to be tested for causes.

My sis had 'low' but was successful first time with ivf aged 40 (well, a month under) and her lovely son is now 12 weeks :) :) :)

minmooch · 22/03/2011 12:36

Hello ladies - can I join you all.

I am Min - 44 on Friday (arggggghhhhh) and just had my 8th miscarriage 6 weeks ago. I have 2 lc from my first marriage. From my 2nd marriage we had 3 miscarriages, fell pregnant with id twin daughters but sadly they were stillborn at 21 weeks due to IUGR and TTTS. We have since had 5 miscarriages.

Af arrived yesterday and I am starting to take 100mg clomid today. Although I get pg my consultant thinks some of my miscarriages are due to age. The clomid will help to produce more eggs, hopefully some of which are good so it wont take as long to get pg. Running out of time and energy so lets hope for a viable pg soon please.

Anyone else on clomid? Any top tips?

Wishing you all much luck.

lolfactor · 22/03/2011 10:06

You've got to laugh. This is what came up on ehealth when I googled it. Honestly, it's enough to drive you to drink. I live the flippant 'take care' at the end! Grin

^The various causes of brownish discharge are hypothyroidism, cervical dysplasia, cervical polyps, cervicitis, vaginitis, cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, genital ulcers, STDs and stress. You can discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist as on net and without examining it is difficult to give a confirmed opinion. A PAP smear and a STD panel must be done t.
Hope this helps. Take care!^

lolfactor · 22/03/2011 10:02

So sorry, Tina. Dry your eyes in the sunshine with me.

TMI alert Put down the yoghurt.

I'm a bit worried, actually. The cramping woke me up at about 5am. Thought AF had arrived around 7. Now, at 10am, all I've got is thick dark brown sticky stuff. Euch. And cramping and nausea. This isn't an ectopic, is it? Not enough HCG for a BFP, yet some symptoms and dark brown goo?

No shoulder pain, but then I'm due on today, so I wouldn't expect it. I wondered if it was left-over lining from the MC last month but the Dr said all sounded like it was clear (I had a complete MC - yes, I did see the pregnancy, which was quite sad).

Do you think the floodgates will open? I'm hoping they will - treacle-like tar doesn't seem like a good sign to me.

Thoughts?

TinaO99 · 22/03/2011 08:26

morning all - feeling all gloomy this morning as like a fool I did a test last night which was negative Saddon't know why I thought it would be otherwise, just want my af to arrive now and then hopefully next month I'll ovulate again, so sick of seeing just highs on the damned monitor! At least the sun's shining this morning which has to cheer you up (a little)

hopefulgum · 21/03/2011 23:27

Yes,Hippy, you are right. I know I am naughty testing so early, but I like to prepare mentally for the RTD.Of course that's just "bull" because when it's early and a bfn I still remain hopeful til RTD arrives! Silly I know, but it's hard to break a habit of years.

I had a lovely temp jump today too.And feel very warm this morning (which may be because I'm overdressed) and finally my boobs have some tenderness - but it's only mild...

Hairy it is good to hear from you.I'm so sorry you've had three miscarriages. How awful. I hope the doctors can get some answers for you, and you can have your take home baby soon.

I want to catch up with everyone else too, but I'm sorry I've not allowed myself enough time, and I have to run. Will pop in later.Smile

hippychick66 · 21/03/2011 22:54

Watching peep show and thinking of you diege - it's almost unbearable to watch Shock

hairy, hang in there sweetie. doesn't seem long ago that you had your first mc - can't believe you've had to go through it twice more. how do they measure your egg reserves? all sounds very interesting and you seem down but not out.

lol - i did laugh at your sorry did you say eggs - what? -ha ha comment. 45 is nothing, my dear - says the woman who is 44 and a half!!! Wink

lou - thinking of you and really hoping this is all gonna keep going well for you.

tina - thanks - we have all recovered from our traumatic experience and ready to move to 1950's england - eg. IOW Grin

lol - was it you who suggested i test? - no way! I'm only a week into the 2 week wait and will not be testing yet. Ask me again next week Smile

louisesh · 21/03/2011 19:58

Lol yes, car could do with "disappearing"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We found out about "Ash to glass" on line.
diege I have my pregnanyl at the EPU at the hospital i m having my consultant led care twice a week.Grin

lolfactor · 21/03/2011 18:42

Hi Hairy. Does that abbreviation sound wrong? Sorry. And sorry about your losses - that must have been so hard. Intrigued by your embryologist, and a bit chastened as I'm 45 on Wednesday (YES 45!!!) there, I've said it out loud. I'm in the 'sorry, did you say EGGS ???? Ha Ha Ha' category, rather than reduced ovarian reserved. 2.2. Whatever that is. Still, at the time it sounded better than 1.75 which is the average for my age. Good luck with it all, it sounds like it's all systems go for you.

Hippy's right - we're all testing really early, but for me it's to avoid the disappointment. Not so secretly, I'm hoping BB's experience will be mine. I'm sitting here with cramps and tingles, but my BFN means that if AF comes tomorrow I won't be so low. I'll never know if those symptoms are just 'me' or if things aren't bedding in properly and I'm trying not to mind. I've just been looking after 5 month-old twins (my friend's coming back after maternity leave and she left them with me in the staffroom Confused). I smell faintly of sick but they were soooo cute. Even when they screamed.

Lou are you going to take that car for a long drive on a short pier?
BB are you going to post from V or just go silent on us? Eeek

Lou HOw did you hear about the paperweight idea? How great is that?

Waves to all Need Wine
Have opened a bottle if anyone wants to join me?

hairylights · 21/03/2011 18:15

Hello all, hope everyone is well.

Well, my 43rd birthday looms in less than a month Confused and I'm still childless and not upduffed.

Have had three pregnancies since last March and three losses.

But I've had my egg reserve test, and I'm at the low end of 'reduced ovarian reserve' but not in the 'low ovarian reserve' category yet!

Saw a great embryologist at an open night who was most helpful, and doesn't think I need to resort to IVF yet.

Got my referral appointment next Tuesday .. so hope the recurrent MC testing can happen quickly.

TinaO99 · 21/03/2011 15:11

louise he's always up for it lol

Diege · 21/03/2011 15:03

Hello! Thanks for your good wishes re: the sickness! (I don't mind the jokes Hippy - in fact anything that lightens the mood, the better!). I have taken a liking to cold boiled egg sarnies, so there is some hope Grin. Trying and failing to actually speak to a person at the EPU (would have been easier to book throguh the GP last week Hmm)but fingers crossed someone will get back to me by the end of today...
BB wow your trip really has come round fast; I was thinking it was in the summer for some reason. Have a great time, and fingers crossed a bfp won't be far behind x
Lou the paperweight sounds beautiful - what a lovely idea Smile. Your journey sounds nightmarish though Shock Re: the pregnanyl, do you have to go into hospital for this?
Sorry for the bfns Sad (Curly I was widely placing my hopes in your raised temp!)
Hope everyone is well - have an egg butty or two on me - that's all the bistro has on offer this week! Wink

louisesh · 21/03/2011 14:04

Curlylox · 21/03/2011 13:36

BB have a fantastic trip, how long will you be away for?
Hippy think it'll be a couple of weeks before I hear anything about my speeding. Re feeling tired I'm like that most nights but that's down to my own doing as I do go to bed quite late.
Af still hasn't arrived usual cycle 24 days but have been here before - body tricks me into thinking I'm maybe upduffed only to find my cycle extended to the "normal" 28 days, temp has dropped slightly so will test again in a few days if af hasn't arrived.

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 21/03/2011 12:28

jolls OMG - it sounds like something of the telly! I hope the SWI was successful - you are due a bit of luck, lovey.

randomimposter · 21/03/2011 11:39

aww hippy you're not old, just experienced Grin.

BB can't believe it's here already, wow better find my passport. You did get that message about me stowing in your lugguage didn't you?

update on drunk driver... DP went to the station at 11pm to give statement, apparently got back at 1am (I was sparko!) - he was 5andahalf times the limit, is denying he was driving Hmm, tried to hit the policeman arresting him, and is a local stand-up comedian (not so stand-up last night Grin)...

hippychick66 · 21/03/2011 11:00

Wow that trip came around quickly BB - have a fabulous time and report back with all the details as soon as you can. Take care and be safe, honey. Yes, I can see how TTC when not in the same room could be a problem Shock.

BeattieBow · 21/03/2011 10:31

Lol at jolls swi - i was thinking last night how clinical swi can be when you wouldnt otherwise be in the mood.

gum , tina, hippy and curly I think you're ahead of me, so fingers crossed for you all

lol still might get a bfp - it's early days. I didn't get bfps with any of my other pregnancies until well after my af due date.

We're off to Vietnam on Sunday and I'm not taking any preg tests with me. Will just wait and see. And probably won't be ttc while i'm away as not sure I'll be even sharing a room with dh, let alone a bed. Smile.

hippychick66 · 21/03/2011 09:34

tina good luck for DH's test on Thurs - I hope he's studied hard Grin

hippychick66 · 21/03/2011 09:33

jolls I think you did very well to get him (and you) in the mood after all that. As you say 'eyes on the prize' can do amazing things to a woman's dedication Grin

Sorry for all the BFN's - although some of you are testing too early ( gum that's you incase you wondered Wink). It is very bitter sweet when we have those dreams isn't it. I've had dreams like that where I've given birth or been preggers and it's very sad when you wake up and realise it's not true.

diege I will not make any more jokes about vomitting as it does sound like it's getting really awful. Are you getting a scan soon. Want me to come, like I did for lou???

curly any news from the speed camera yet??

I am so tired at the moment - fell asleep in the middle of the Mentalist - WTF??? Even dear old Simon Baker can't keep me awake!!! Wish it was cos I'm preggers but fear it is cos I am just so old Blush.
