hippy I didn't know you were moving to IOW... Wine

hippychick66 · 23/02/2011 20:45

crossed posts with you nicole - what's up my lovely? You are still young (to me) and you've only just started trying - you'll be fine girlie Grin

hippychick66 · 23/02/2011 20:43

tiptoptanktop - fab news about the scan. Yes very funny about the spontanious conception - when we get our next BFP I'm gonna say, "We just did it the once and were truely surprised!"

jolls Hope the day was lovely for you - wishing you everything you would wish yourself for the year ahead Wink

BB yes trying to choose schools before you live there is very difficult - we're going through the same decisions with the old IOW at the moment.

All the best - at least you'll be too busy sorting out the move to worry too much about getting preg - it seems to be working for me cos I'm a lot more relaxed about whether it happens or not.

Having said that, i do feel that we made a big effort with the troops this month and am about 99% certain that I will be up the duff this month Grin

Evening lovelies Smile

Staying away for now as the world of babies is a little bit too much to take at the moment. So just popped in to say my sorries to Lol and happy birthday to jolls

See you soon Smile

randomimposter · 23/02/2011 20:31

aww thanks for lovely messages. Wave to all x

TTT such terrific news. T h anks for dropping by Grin.

BB sorry you have all this landing on your plate. Wouldn't know where to start Confused.

BeattieBow · 23/02/2011 19:23

happy birthday jolls hope you have had a lovely day.

TTT fantastic news about the scan - and a girl too! Congratulations. Can't believe you're at 21 weeks already!

(has Lia given birth yet anyone?).

So 2 dpo and no signs yet! Have resisted testing so far too. we did the swi one for luck this time, so maybe that will do the trick.

Seriously thinking about London move now - dh had a meeting today where he was told his firm is in trouble financially. he needs to start looking about moving while he is still being paid I think.

Bit daunting though - how on earth do you go about moving 4 children's schools when y ou don't have a residence? I have also been finding it very hard commuting and think there are better ways of spending 3 hours a day really.

Hope we get some bfps soon! muchlove I have had a baby in my 20s and 30s, - last one at 37 (first one at 28) but not managed in my 40s yet sadly.

TipTopTank · 23/02/2011 18:32

(Wanders in with a big bunch of balloons and a bottle of champers).. to wish Jolls a happy birthday...

Sorry to hear your bad news lol If it's any consolation, I had a CP the month before this pg...

21 weeks today - had our anomaly scan yesterday, which was all good. Everything was normal, which is a huge relief as I am now the original paranoid android. And it's a girl, which we are both very pleased about!

Anyway, so we've left the clinic.. and we're tucking into our lunch in China town... and between courses, I have pulled out the written report for us our midwife, which I have now read 4 zillion times as it says "the prognosis for this baby is excellent" when I see it... the phrase which almost makes me spit mineral water all over DH...

In the history section it says:
"Conception: spontaneous"

Rolling around on the floor laughing. I know it is technically accurate, but I don't think anything could have felt less spontaneous - surely "planned like a military campaign" would be closer...

Anyway, I thought it might tickle your fancies too... and just so you know, when you get up duffed, your conception will have been spontaneous too Grin

hippychick66 · 23/02/2011 15:03

Happy Birthday matey - Hippy air kisses Jolls. mwah mwah mwah. So sorry to read about lol. I know it's hard to remain positive but what I would say is at least you know your body can get a pregnancy going - maybe you just got the wrong egg. I wish you well, sweetie.

Hello to everyone else. diege we are sooo alike - I am with you on the sore boobs and vivid dreams (way too early to read anything into it though Wink).

Good Morning Lovelies

Ahh JOLLS Happy Burfday to you sweety x

LOL So so sorry for your loss it's really tough (especially when you tell family Sad and then have to un-tell)....You are absolutely spot on about the age of our eggs.....Unfortunately we may look young-uns on the outside but our eggs don't and it does take longer and the journey is a lot harder.....but GUM is right it can happen and does happen .....it's just a case of finding the 'good egg'.... but it's a case of can you handle the ups and downs on the way to finding it - if you ever do...???
For me it's been a 2year journey now with nothing but heartache to show for it Confused...... When I first started out I was charting for 3 months then fell PG and I can honestly say I was at the most blissfully happiest and contented point in my life......
Infact the day I first got my BFP my hubby and I and our little boy went for a drive in the country and found a little park and sat in the sunshine on a bench and I have never been happier...... 3 weeks later and after naively telling our close family it was over and I was devastated........ it really was tough for me but then took about 3 months to get my heart and head mended and then 6mnths later fell again but alas not to be and actually lost that little one on the day my first loss was due Sad Sad how utterly shit is that..... (I know LOU and TANKS terrible losses are far more devastating....xxx) but for me at that time was just too much........
I have since had 2 more losses including a CP and can't help thinking 'Is it really gonna ever happen for me??' But like LOU says all youv'e got is to keep on trying and see.....what else can you do ??????
The only difference now is I don't get soooo let down each month as I just expect it's not gonna be and don't get myself all in a state anymore.... I still test at 9 - 10 dpo and if it's a BFN I just get on with it whereas the last year I would be crying and taking it out on DH....... Oh I dunno it's just a tough tough road and you have gotta have nerves of steel to keep going......you really have...

Hmm I know what you mean about 'mothers' aswell mine never stops banging on about the big 'M' just coz she had hers very young she's convinced I will follow .....that's why I was sooooo xstatic last month just to get a possy on the OPK as she made me think I had stopped OVing !!!!!!

Well sorry it's been a while but I have had a couple of tough weeks (death in the family....) and I have been low ......add to the fact that life (as in a family of 4 kids) has to go on and it being half-term I didn't think I was gonna get a moment to post Smile
again

Anyway I have started to do a bit of research and am interested to know if there are any women who have had children in their 20's as I did and maybe in their 30's when I had my last that have gone on to successfully carry a baby to term in their 40's ????

Most of the stories I read about are of women who had their first in their late 30's early 40's and then are still managing it into their middle 40's..... I don't know if I have made sense there but I guess what I want to know is are there any women with 20 yr old kids and teens that have also found the 'GOLDEN EGG' into their 40's aswell ????????

Oh dear Im rambling...........

Sending Muchlove to you all xxxxx

randomimposter · 23/02/2011 11:53

hi all

thanks for lovely birthday wishes, special wave to Alba and Gi1da, thanks for popping by, don't you have beautiful bundles to coo over? Grin

CD8 so better get cracking. Had acu yesterday and moxa for the first time, like a warming treatment on my tummy. She thought I was "cold" (have been feeling the cold a lot more this year in this tiny but really chilly house) and said you need to be "warm" to conceive. Makes sense! I remember last month's SWI was all conducted in icicle temps!!! Hmm.

I sort of feel like I'm not going to conceive in this house. Basically I'm quite unhappy here and can't wait til we move in either April or May depending on the joiner getting the stairs into the new house.

OTOH I have estimated that I probably have 3 cycles to get a 2011 baby, the 3rd of those chances would be a Jan 2012 EDD but I would prob have an ELCS so could just squeeze into December!

Being your typical Pisces I swim in two directions at once so both best and worst case scenarios are equally strong at any one time Grin.

Must dash, off to friends for lunch.

Sending you all cake xxx

louise gum I tested again yesterday still nothing, am on day 11 dpo now and starting to get tender boobies so af due very soon methinks! Good thing the tests were cheap from amazon! Here's to the next cycle sigh....

my hubby now has a testing kit from the dr's so will be arranging his tests soon, hopefully all will be well

hopefulgum · 22/02/2011 22:59

Jolls, 21 again! Woo - Hoo! Happy Birthday. I hope it is happy.Enjoy your special day and treat yourself.

I don't know if it helps, but despite our 40 something age eggs, we can get pregnant. It might take longer and it might give us heartache along the way, but it is possible! I just read a novel about an Amish community. One of the characters (that isn't Amish) finds out she's pregnant at 40 and is moaning about being too old, when an Amish woman tells her that women of that age in their community are only half through having their kids.I know it's only a novel, but I'll take it as hopeful! I also read about a woman in Asia somewhere who had two young teenage daughters (12 and 14 I think) and was 56 or 58. Anyway, I remember thinking there are women everywhere in their 40's having healthy babies.

My friend is 41 and just gave birth to her little boy. The only miscarriage she had was in her mid-30's.
So hang in there Lol and Penashe, and stick with us...we're here for the long haul.

So...anyway I did cave in and tested today, 9 dpo, and of course it is negative. It would be a lovely surprise to get a pos this month, but I just don't have many symptoms.

Lou, when will you test? Tina, curly, when will you test,or are you waiting? I can never wait til AF is due, I simply cannot do it! I wish I was so relaxed about it I didn't notice til AF was late, but that's just not the way it is with us control freaks!

I'm getting acupuncture done today - it's been ages. Last time I saw her I was still pregnant. I'm hoping she'll help me feel better overall.

So, let's raise a glassWine and toast Jolls on her birthday, and another Wine to our dear old eggs - may they produce beautiful, healthy babies!

Gi1da · 22/02/2011 22:44

Wishing you a lovely day tomorrow Jolls

sorry !!! Should have said lol xxx

panashe · 22/02/2011 21:22

Wow beattie what your doctor said has hit home :(

louisesh · 22/02/2011 21:07

Thanks Panashe X

lolfactor · 22/02/2011 20:38

Can't match you there, Panache. I might have 'youth' genes, but I also have 44 year-old eggs. As the Dr said, 'you may look 30-something on the outside; inside, you're pretty much spot 44.' Sigh.

Mid-life crisis eggs. I'm trying to serve them sunny-side up Wink

BeattieBow · 22/02/2011 20:29

hi all.

lol so sorry about your mc. I had a couple last year - too depressing for words. Anyway, people our age do get pg successfully.

I didn't manage day 3 of the 3 in a row smep - just too tired. so will do the one for luck one tonight maybe, but feel ok that I did 2 in a row. Now just need to obsess about symptoms!

panashe · 22/02/2011 18:14

lol don't be too hard on yourself. I know what you mean about young mums and yes having younger partner can make it worse. I have had those conversations with my dp after mc 'maybe you should go find woman your age' kind of emotional rants.

My saving grace is both my parents have 'youth' genes I think and much to the embarassment of my 19 year old ds we have been mistaken for a couple Grin

panashe · 22/02/2011 18:06

Hello lou , don't read Heat but will make point of upping their circulation figures and buying a copy next week Grin

I am ok and convincing myself that cramping and sore boobs sign of imminent af and nothing else !!!!
