Lou what amazing news!!!!!!!!!! So, so pleased. A blue line. Isn't it a thing of beauty? There's hope for us all. Well done, and have 2 helpings of sticky bean adhesive on the house x

Diege you're scaring me. How the hell do you manage? Mind you, if the commute is the only p and q you get...

Gum I bet he couldn't have stopped if you'd said 'no'. It's awful when there's serious stuff you thought you'd sorted. My dp does the same - reintroduces stuff, leaves it hanging in the air and then says let's talk about it when we're feeling up to it. I feel like shouting, 'no - we'll talk when the smiley face says we'll talk!'

Off to buy some DHEA USA style. 75mg on my cornflakes every morning. Yum. Thanks Jolls BB Italian Hippy- and love to all x

lia66 · 24/02/2011 18:31

Hi everyone, Still here no baby yet. Anytime after Weds we are good to go for hb so keeping legs firmly crossed till then.

lou I am so so pleased for you, this is Georgie's brother or sister I know it'll be ok for you. You so deserve it. Please let the next 8 mths be boring and cslm for you.

Diege · 24/02/2011 17:50

TTT bistro night is Friday!!!! I will however process your order on this occasion, in the circumsances...
I have to say I do quite like my commute (well, outward journey, return not so great). When else do I have a chance to read my mags/book, work without interruption, and have a coffee at my leisure? Grin
Still grinning about you Lou Happy days in the snug!

TipTopTank · 24/02/2011 17:39

Diege 5 hours commuting a day and 4 young kids - you are superwoman Shock

BB I commuted across to Glasgow for a winter once - it's less than an hour, and it made me permanently knackered and miserable - and I was childless and young then... On Tuesday, we had b'fast of "artisan bread" in a posh coffee shop in Marylebone High St, wandered down to China Town for lunch, and then browsed the shops in Convent Garden before strolling down the South Bank.. which was full of yum mums with their Bugaboos hanging out at the Imaginate fesitval ... On this basis I have reappraised London, and decided it might be quite good to live there after all....

On the other hand, the Imaginate Festival comes to Edinburgh next - and posh people, students and childless couples walk to work, whilst moderately well off families think they are hard done by with anything more than a 30 minute commute... so maybe you should all come and live here...

Though I seem to remember... something niggling in the back of my mind about Hippy moving to the IOW? Grin

Lou Brilliant news - fingers and toes x-ed for you for!

Gum Think you missed your opporutnity to give him a good kick up the bottom whilst he was sleeping Angry I suppose he must be freaking out - he probably hasn't thought through how upsetting his behaviour is to you. Men - such simple creatures....

Anyway, if the bistro is open - I'll have a fresh tuna salad with asparagus; with chocolate mousse for afters... then afterwards I reckon we can all go outside to our private beach (did I not mention we had our own private tropical beach?) light a drift wood fire and roast marshmellows.

TinaO99 · 24/02/2011 17:04

hooray for louise!!!! good on you, hope a few more of us follow your good luck :-)

randomimposter · 24/02/2011 16:59

odd - just posted and it disappeared.

anyway, quickie, but WHOOP WHOOOP for lou, BRILLIANT news... be back later xx

Diege · 24/02/2011 16:29

Wow Lou what fab news Grin The line getting stronger is an excellent sign too. Everything crossed for an uneventful 9 months!
BB I think moving to cut down on a commute is an excellent reason for doing so. Your quality of life will def improve, as mine did for the short time I got the lift in and back with colleague. My commute is ok, just the early start (6is) a pain - a bus and two trains each way (so 5 hr round trip) but only done 3 days a week (mon-wed) as wfh on the Thursday. The real pain is the 30 min wait between connections, though the station has a good Costa which makes it bearable! Tbh I never really minded it until I've had the luxury of the car trip with colleague - now it seems quite a grim prospect!
Lou's news has cheered me up no end. If we get bfps at a rate of one a month even we'll all get there sooner or later!

BeattieBow · 24/02/2011 15:42

OMG Lou that's fantastic news! fingers and everything else crossed here. and another success for the SMEP - gives us all hope!

gum so sorry this issue won't go away for you and sorry for your bfn too.

diege hope you're LP hangs on a little bit longer. this is one reason why I don't temp anymore -I'm happy in my ignorance. Wow to a 2.5 hour commute! How often do you do that? Perhaps I'm being selfish by considering moving house to cut down my commute (one of the reasons anyway).

No testing here, only around 3dpo anyway so wouldn't expect any signs, and in fact I don't think I get any anyway until I'm around 6 weeks pg. But feel I dtd enough this month anyway which is all i can do.

SamanthaB123 · 24/02/2011 14:47

OMG Louise!!!! Was just randomly surfing mn and saw your post! Bloody hell that's just fab. I won't say a word...but I know a lot of people who are going to be so, so delighted. Oooh, this is wonderful!

brokenbarrenbrook · 24/02/2011 14:33

oooo am lurking, but I'm not old enough to play with the big kids yet, just couldn't leave without saying a quiet congrats louisesh promise I won't tell!

louisesh · 24/02/2011 14:29

on cd 20!!!! wtf????? 10 dpo ish!!!!! Re tested today line darker.I m not getting excited and only told , obviously,Ant and my mum but thats it.Its another 7-8 days before i m due my af and don t want a big fuss to have another cp.[we ve got a plan of action though if i have another cp i m going to contact my consultant to see about something to thicken my linning is it progesterone i need???] I have felt very tired with headaches and quite nasueaus at times over the last 2-3 days but think a lot of it is due to stress and thinking about returning to work.

But we ll see.Whatever i m again, incredibly impressed by my body and its need to get pg asap.Big fx for my liitle egg to cling on for life Grin

But sssshhhh......keep it quiet don t tell anyone else.[hopefully none of the "post grads" are looking at this thread at the moment.

Diege · 24/02/2011 12:23

I know what you mean Jolls about deadlines. I think last year I said I'd give it until next summer (ie. 2011) but that seems too close. I am also due a smear, but have decided to put it off until after my birthday, to make the most of my last few mths of being 40 Hmm. I think I'm goiung to go for it on the clothes, work and weight-loss front, and hold off on the botox. Maybe I just won't smile Grin

randomimposter · 24/02/2011 11:25

diege totally get the "life on hold" thing. I'm feeling a permanent state of limbo - not helped by being in temporary accommodation also. I'm waiting to lose weight, sort out clothes, decide on whether to go back to work etc etc etc. But the thought of putting a deadline on it makes me feel physically sick :(

Waves to all. Off to park shortly as I can see a yellow thing. Or at least no wet stuff. x

Diege · 24/02/2011 09:36

Morning Smile. Italian I have seen that film and it is one of my favourites. I can also recommend 'Precious', though quite hard hitting, and for the more macabre-minded 'case 39' is ace Grin
Pananche I know what you mean Sad. Take care, and as others have said, take some solace from the fact that your cycle is back to normal and that ttc-ing can commence!
Gum I think I woud be livid with dh if I were - and the falling aslepp after tops it really. I can understand how you feel a sense of weariness about rhe whole thing, esopecially when it seems to be resolved one day but not the next. Good that he's clueless about your cycle though Wink
Lol, I'm sure I've had DHEA from Zita West at some point, and I did actually get pregnant a few cycles after starting it, but for some reason I had totally forgotten about it until now Confused.
Well not a great start to the day. Dh away, so 6am start to get older dds up to school for pre-school gym club, then down again to put ds in nursery, then up again for dd3's school, to get home and get message from hairdresser to say she has to cancel...Ok, so I'm working from home but had booked a sneaky appointment for roots...she's coming on Sunday night instead but still...temp has also dropped dramatically (just above coverline) and only on cd 8/9 and boobs also not so sore. If my LP drops below last months 10 days I will scream! Have also been giving some thought to giving it until May and then calling ttc-ing a day. I'm just a little tired of putting things on hold (botox - I know how shallow that sounds), smear test, buying nice clothes, taking on more challenges at work. I just can't beleive how easy it was to get pregnant at 39, and then literally a month after my 40th my cycles go crazy! Anyay, that's enough wingeing - must try and do something creative to cover my roots up!

Italiangreyhound · 24/02/2011 02:47

lol re juciy eggs - no idea as can't seem to produce any but last year I read...

I am currently reading Triumph Over Despair and Statistics

by Julia Indichova

It is really good and helpful (to me).

Italiangreyhound · 24/02/2011 02:16

Hi all

TTT fantastic news, so pleased for you.

Happy Birthday* Jolls. I just had one too, a few weeks back and am now 46!

Panashe sorry you are so down.

louise hugs to you.

Love to you all BB, Hippy, Lol, Diege, Hopefulgum, Curley and Muchlove. Sorry if I missed anyone.

I hope you are all well. Just watched a fab movie, The Pursuit of Happiness, very moving and sad, and at times funny (but not many times).

Had my progesteron blood test yesterday, just enjoying the end of my first period in 6 months.

All the best, Brew and chocolate to all.

hopefulgum · 23/02/2011 22:50

Oh shit Panashe, I know how awful that feels. Sending you a tonne of love.

Gosh, it really can be a difficult road ttc at our age.But still, is doable.

Tank - such great news. Relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Muchlove, I had 2 babies in my twenties, two in my thirties and one in my 40's. I really feel I have to have another in my 40's to balance it all out! I'm still hell-bent on having a baby, but at the moment feeling very pre-menstrual. Another BFN today, but that's not why I think it's all over - temperature has dropped and I just don't feel pregnant. Every other time, i have "felt" it.

Warning : TMI -Then last night my stupid DH says (whilst in the throws of passion - moron)"Should I go ahead"(you know - ejaculate) and I say"well, why not" and he says "we still have some unresolved issues".(he obviously has no clue where I am at with my cycle)

I really didn't much feel like shagging after that! But I let him get on with it and then he promptly fell asleep. FFS, I feel like throttling him. I hate this "unresolved" bullshit. As far as I'm concerned I am resolved to ttc! I suppose we'll have to thrash it out again, and I'm so sick of this same conversation. So, feeling pre-menstrual right now, on top of that, makes me feel pretty lousey.I did not sleep very well.

Some men can be stupid sometimes! I love my DH immensely and we are very happy together, but this "issue" is doing my head in.

My lovely, lovely acupunturist told me her DH went out to shop for a vacuum cleaner the day after they had a still born little boy! Can you believe it? I guess we all deal with grief differently, but that really hurt her. She went on to have a healthy boy, who is now 19, a year later.

The summer weather seems to have disappeared today, and I'm glad, the grey is reflectling my mood!

I suppose I should make an appointment with my GP and get some testing done.

Lol I think you can order DHEA from America and it may be cheaper.
I believe acupuncture can address ovarian reserve too.

lolfactor · 23/02/2011 22:37

(((( panache )))) so sad to be reminded. The good news is that you're spot on regular - even though I know you'd rather be irregular but pregnant right now. There's hope :-) x

thanks Jolls. if anyone's tried DHEA could they let us know? We need a reason to get off our backsides and buy some.

panashe · 23/02/2011 22:22

Four weeks to the day of mc af has arrived :( :( can't help but feel sad

randomimposter · 23/02/2011 21:54

I was recommended 75mg a day? lol Haven't actually got off my spreading arse to order it yet, but was also recommended to try it.

lolfactor · 23/02/2011 21:36

tank your news has made my day! What an amazing thing to hear and read. Just so pleased for you - and gives us all hope.

So does chocolate (says Lol, tucking into a rather lovely cocoa/chilli combo and wishing Jolls a belated Happy Birthdaaaay)

Thanks nicole. I know it gets a bit much. Thought I'd have to stay away while I got over this cp, but I can honestly say that looking forward to reading all the kind words/slurred ramblings is getting me through this particularly weird time.

Panache IGNORE ME. I was feeling sorry for myself. You are only allowed to read tanks postings instead. And chant 'Cherie' Smile

Now - question to all. I've got the sex thing down to a tee (or is it a T?) What I need to know is, how do I produce super-juicy eggs? Zita West clinic said my fertility thingy (ovarian reserve)is 2.27, putting me firmly into the 0-3 'very poor' category - slightly high for my age (1.75), but still grotty . They could only suggest DHEA which they said had anecdotal evidence only (a woman on IVF said the eggs gathered post-DHEA were of much higher quality, apparently, and there are trials, but they seem inconclusive.)

Should I be buying DHEA? Do I have to buy it there (probably v expensive - the wee wee test was £230!)Or do you buy it in superdrug for 50p? Or is there something else I could do that you could recommend?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Diege · 23/02/2011 21:15

Evening! I propose a mid-week champagne bistro-esque in celebration of TTT's scan (what lovely news) and of course for jolls the birthday girl Smile
Lou meant to say I am also an avid Heat reader Blush. I was given a subscription for the mag when I left my last job, and did actually cry in Sainsbury's Local when they didn't have their delivery one week until the Wednesday (I was hevaily pregnant at the time, but still...) Is your letter in next weeks or have I missed it?
BB I think that's sensible about your dh starting to look now when he's still getting a salary, although fingers crossed it (the possible troubles) may come to nothing. I feel your pain over the comute. The friend I have been getting a lift to and from work with is moving next week so it's back to the 2.5 hr commute each way Sad Still, at least I can read Lou's letter on the train Grin
Hippy I have to say my boobs are super extra sore this month, and actually don't feel like mine this time round Confused. My temps aren't great though, and based on ff's 'readjustments' of my ov time my timing wasn't great either..
muchlove great to hear from you, but sorry you've had a tough time of it xxnicole, hope to hear from you soon. Take care x
Gum, 9dpo is far too early you donger!! (as dd1 would say Grin.
Tinakeep us informd with dh's tests - I'm sure all will be fine xOff for an early night now as 6am start. After I've ahd my champagne cocktail of course!

muchlove · 23/02/2011 21:12

I know I've already given you a massive congrats TANK but just wanna say again
FFFFFFFAAAAAANNNNNTTTTTAAAAASSSSSTTTTIIIICCCCC !!!!!! news today Grin Grin Grin xxxx
