OP posts:
hopefulgum · 09/03/2011 09:03

Just dropping in to keep my place. I clicked on threads "I'm On" and nothing came up, so thought I'd best drop in.

I've not been around because I've nothing to report.

Trying to keep a low profile with all things ttc. Not that I've stopped or anything, just don't want to focus so much on it.

Deige and Louise glad to see you are both still progressing.

I've been busy with family. We just had a long weekend, so we spent loads of time socialising and having fun.It was nice, and keeps my mind off other things.

I did have a laugh about the "cutting the toenails" excuse. It started some pretty weird images in my mind though...

Still have days til SWI time. Better start practicing I suppose!

randomimposter · 09/03/2011 07:46

sorry been AWOL, will do my best to catch up on all the news...
hippy we had been getting ready to sell for ages really, just when we finally finished all the work, we did get on with it quite fast. Was lucky that had a big loft, and have watched TOO many property shows over the years, so know all about "staging", so just was ruthless with packing and throwing away and making all look clutter free (total illusion!!)...
BB not entirely sure where we want to go, but HpierP and Steyn top of the pops at the moment; still arguing refining search criteria really. Love firework capital area too, but DP paranoid about flood issues... HmmGrin...

hope the bumpees doing ok...
loved the "cutting toenails" story - hilarious.

Will try and catch up on the other news and be back later.

CD22 here, no symptoms at all. Trying not to obsess... ha hahahhahahahhahahahah Grin

Diege · 08/03/2011 19:37

Hello! Just me chipping in with my dr.google glasses on Grin. Yes, it is possible to ovulate twice, but very, very rare (accounts for those 'Take A Break' stories when twins are conceived and delivered weeks apart). What's more usual (bit still rare) is that the body gears up for ovulation, but then doesn;t succeed so tries again a week or so later (hence the EWM twice). This is in Tony whatshername;s book so it must be true Grin Have everything crossed for you anyway LOL, sounds hopeful!

lolfactor · 08/03/2011 18:49

It's got to be true. I read it on an American website Hmm

All the symptoms say preggers again - but I've been here before with the cps, so trying to think 1 minute at a time Grin

Fingers crossed that this egg doesn't need reading glasses.

louisesh · 08/03/2011 17:46

Thanks Lol know its not ectopic as no other signs and symptons. As far as i know you wouldn t release 2 eggs at separate times.Could it be you ovulated early and now its early pregnancy signs?????? I ve never heard of anyone ovulating twice in a month.

lolfactor · 08/03/2011 14:59

Typo alert!!!

meant 'now laughing out loud'. I'm not that sad!

lolfactor · 08/03/2011 14:58

She's right, Lou. I'm not surprised you're worried after all your past experiences, but it does have to be shoulder-tip pain, dark blood etc. Big (())

Diege - missed your 'corrie' story last time and am not laughing out loud at the toenail story. That was some quick-thinking!

Having told Lou to stop symptom spotting, how about this for over-observation. Has anyone ever ovulated twice in a month? I think I did last time (the one when I miscarried) and I think I have again. I was sure I had a really early ov this time(ok, so I'm not using OPKs, but I am using CM and general temp)then, at day 12 I felt my temp rise again and more EWCM (sorry if TMI!).

Today I have tingly boobs, nausea, dry mouth and cramps. Could be ov pains - but they are the same symptoms I had 3dpo last time. I'm hoping hoping hoping - knowing that I have the longest 2ww ever. Sigh.

Diege · 08/03/2011 11:22

Hello! Have sneaked into work late but thankfully have not been spotted and have office to myself today.
Louise now you just stop obsessing about ectopic!! From what I've heard, shoulder tip pain is pretty much something you'd feel after experiencing the dark blood, pains etc, plus ectopics have very slow-rising hcg and this would have been picked up on your hcg tests..so stop it do you hear!!! WinkI am still in limbo land - boobs a lot sorer, and I did gag when I brushed my teeth this morning (but then I thought I would and sort of willed it? BlushPart of me is starting to get a bit sick of all the waiting for symptoms and I'll be relieved in a way if my body gets its act together either way as quick as possible. Am happy to wait until next week though as have a big weekend away with a friend this weekend that has been planned for ages - not sure if I could hold it together if things went wrong before then.
Lol your timing sounds pretty much like mine last month - swi 2 days before and then one after ov and it sort of worked..
Tina I love the Peep Show (as does dh) and we must watch it at least twice a week (we have the boxed set Grin). I sadly see some of myself in Mark Corrigan Blush

louisesh · 08/03/2011 10:08

Tina he doesn t need a good imagination he's got a sex queen :ME!!!!WinkWink

Hippy i ve not looked yet at Magic's babies but i will!!!! Arh.....Grin Get that estate agent in NOW1!!! The rate you re going i would have moved before you!!! [and we re not moving for another 2 years!!!]

Ha Ha Diege thats funny "sneaking 1 in inbetween corrie.Who says romance is dead....Like hippy says 1 day at a time we re on this path now theres nothing or very little we can do to influence the outcome.

Hi lol XX

Hi all hope everyone is well.

Todays stress:ectopic pregnancy .I ve had the odd shoulder muscle twinge [or have i been thinking/imagineing it]so thanks to good old google now convinced thats what it ll be.But for it to be ectopic would be shoulder tip pain which its not and i ve none of the other signs or symptons. But you know when you ve got something in your head????

I keep reading ectopics are rare however, so are stillbirths but that still happenened to me.Trying to not think of it and think will know 1 way or the other next Thursday.

TinaO99 · 08/03/2011 08:54

diege just watched the peep show clip and nearly killed myself laughing, have just forwarded it to dh and told him it might inspire him!

lolfactor · 08/03/2011 06:52

Hi all

Italian it's really good to know there are other options. Embryos from Spain? Never knew all these ideas were out there.

Well, I had to work until 10 last night (started at 7) but managed to dtd - hoping that might catch it. Can't believe that I've so few natural chances left that I'm doing all these desperate things. That's a swi on Sat (3 days ago), and one last night. Legs crossed it'll work.

I'm going to have to change that profile. I haven't got 6 kids. Actually, I keep getting the acronyms wrong Confused! I've got two boys (22 and 18 now) and a daughter (14). My partner is 6.5 years younger (yes, the .5 does matter) and he has a little girl, who's about to turn 5. And a dog and a cat. I've had 3 chemical pregs and this latest has been classified as an m/c at 5.5 weeks. I had been really hopeful :-(

I've got the builders in - hopefully gone by the end of the week. They're lovely but they keep wanting to ask me questions about sockets. 'I DON'T KNOW. That's why I've asked YOU to come and do it.' I keep wanting to shout.

Glad the Lou and Diege are feeling nervously fine. Hippy hoping your gypsies have robbed you and left you with an empty house so all you need to do is hoover Grin

Had to run a cocktail evening for 30 16-18 year-olds at school yesterday. Just off to clear them off the benches before the year 7s arrive. Laters...

Diege · 07/03/2011 22:09

Thanks for sharing Grin DD2 caught us at it a few months ago, downstairs on the sofa (between Corries, so understandable). We quickly threw a throw over us and dh told her he was 'cutting mummy's toenails' Hmm Grin
Bed beckons! Early start tomorrow but will catch up in the office.
Night everyone!

hippychick66 · 07/03/2011 20:22

I really hope all goes well for you diege.

Well I hope the estate agent is gonna be able to come this week some time but at the moment all is chaos and any photos taken today would make me the laughing stock of right move!!!!

DH and I just had a crafty SWOI (day 5 here). It was really just a moral boost as we find we bond more and get on with stuff more when were feeling closer (plus I made the mistake of flashing cleavage way way too early in the cycle - silly Hippy Grin) Anyway, the punchline to this story is this:- The DS's were watching a film in their room so we thought it would be ok but DS2 has just told me that he thinks we will be getting a baby brother or sister now cos he thinks he heard us doing something BlushBlush. Had to deny all knowledge of what he was talking about and also had to explain that even of we were doing what he thought we were doing it would not guarantee us all a baby. (my boys seem to think that you only have to have sex once to make a baby - which is only true if you're a 16 year old girl in a soap opera!)

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you. Shock

Diege · 07/03/2011 18:57

Thanks Hippy. I'm not much of a planner myself, though have visualised ringing the EPU next week if I'm stil pregnant (they told me to ring when I had a BFP but I know that's just to arange an 8 wk scan as they don't generally scan before that time). That's about as far as I can think at the moment! So HIPPY has the estate agent been yet or is the big day tomorrow?

hippychick66 · 07/03/2011 18:19

ps. lou did you take a look at the spider babies photo? - they are cute arn't they - yes I've been stalking again Grin

hippychick66 · 07/03/2011 18:18

diege try to keep positive honey. I know it's hard not to symptom spot and I know you do suffer with sickness but as you say - it is early days. With my most recent pregnancy I tried to be positive but realistic and I didn't plan ahead at all. Stick with it - 1 day at a time. Oh and don't make any decisions like this will be it for me etc. There that's me done being bossy.

lou your hubbie would defo kill you if he knew you'd told us all that Grin I can't believe they don't provide some stimulation Grin. Having said that most men have fancy i-phones now and can access the internet from there.

House is nowhere near ready yet. jolls how did you make selling your house seem so bloody easy??? And where the heck are you, woman???

nicole what's up with your cycle now?

Diege · 07/03/2011 16:56

That'll be the gipsies that have just left our place then hippy - the state they left the place in! Grin
TINA, I also thought they provided 'materials' for the men...he's surely not going to take his laptop in there and watch a film is he? Shock It reminds me of that Peep Show episode where Jez had to rely on the picture of the Queen on a £20 and his imagination to 'get going'in the sample room Grin
I think this week will be make or break pregnancy-wise for me. I would expect to feel sick by now (I know 4 wks + is nothing, but I know my body and how it reacts to healthy pregnancies). So I'm keeping upbeat but also starting to mentally prepare myself if things don't work out (as much as anyone can anyway!).
LOve to all x

TinaO99 · 07/03/2011 15:12

hahaha louise I kind of thought they'd provide naughty mags and videos to watch!!!

well done on your hubby though, he must have a good imagination ;-P

louisesh · 07/03/2011 13:00

I know Hippy you re right about Ant needing counselling but you can t tell him!!!! Bloody men!!!!!

Tina My dh had to provide a sample 2 years ago when we were undergoing all the tests. He actually said it was fine just "manned up" and got on with it!!!! The room provided was bare with just a telephone!!! [only to telephone the medical sec to let them know when the room was empty!!!! U couldn t get an outside line to any 0898 numbers!!!!Grin.Thr room was next to a lift , that made a noise, opposite a ward in a hospital.I waited the other side of the lift and remember thinking at the time "I should have bought "war ans peace" he ll be forever!!!" but lo and behold 5 minutes later he was out , job done!!!!!!!!!!!!

He'd die if he knew i d put this on!!!! Oh well Wink

Good luck with the estate agent Hippy X

TinaO99 · 07/03/2011 11:08

lol @ hippy

hippychick66 · 07/03/2011 10:56

tina your poor old DH. I know we have to go through all number of test, pregnancies, MC's etc etc but I do think that I would hate to have to go into a room and have a fiddle Blush - still it's all in a good cause Grin

italian the book sounds good. I agree that there is a huge difference between needing to lose a bit of weight due to over indulgence and having actual issues with food. I hope hope hope this is the key for you, my dear. You sound quite chilled about baby no 2 as well. I am the opposite of you (by the sounds of it), I don't like planning ahead at all. I think you are right to just concentrate on the next doner egg try and then look at the situation - hopefully you wont have to re-assess cos you'll be up the duff Smile

lou and diege all good news - keep being preggers you two Grin

lou I agree that your DH probably needs councelling - my DH had it years ago and it was a big help for him, Ant has been through so much and councelling could be a big help for him.

All is chaos here. I am trying to get this darn house ready for the estate agent to come and take the photo's but whilst my back was turned some gypsies have moved in and made it a mess Grin

jolls you're quiet - I hope it's just cos you're busy lovey.

XXX - kisses for all. XXX

TinaO99 · 07/03/2011 10:00

morning all

hope everyone is ok this fine sunny morning (well it's suuny here anyway lol)

Italian no news really to report, I hit a high on the monitor this morning so it's all systems go over the next few days Grin I have a good positive feeling about this month however!

hubby is making his appointment this week to have his little soldiers tested, he's got to make use of their 'sample collection room' hahaha so I think he'll be taking his laptop with him (poor man I don't envy him having to go and do it) hopefully the test won't show up anything bad although I may start worrying about my tubes again then I guess :-(

Diege · 06/03/2011 22:25

Hello! Just on my way to bed but wanted to pop in and say hello Smile. All fine here, no massive increase of symptoms though felt a bit nauseous this morning. Boobs still sore but that very much comes and goes. Only 4 + 4 - seems like it's been weeks!
Lou excellent news in the digi, you naughty think Wink
Big love to all - so tired I have only skimmed through so will read back and comment properly tomorrow. Night all x

louisesh · 06/03/2011 22:03

Shandymmmm...... Licking my lips at the thought of a shandy!!!! Mind you much better on a hot summers day.Know what you mean about setting an end date....Its soo hard isn t it? Orginally we said at Georgie's birthday [10th October] we would assess the situation if we hadn t got anywhere .Wheter we would or not is a different matter1!!!

Hi Panashe,Tina,Nicole and Diege hope all are well.

Well, it seems to be the weekend for it!!! Rowing with dh's that is!!!! Mine being really picky looking for a fight all the time.I think its all getting too much for him now.I m trying to persuade him to try counselling.Don t know if its coming to a head as coming up to 6 months since Georgie was born.He s really doing my head in at the moment!!!!

Italiangreyhound · 06/03/2011 21:07

Hi lolfactor Yes, I would love a cuppa! But no cake, thanks, I am healthy eating and have just had a plate of nuts, seeds and dates! Yum. You said you had not had sex since Saturday, did you mean yesterday or last week! My hubby runs marathons too, if yours is too tired you could say it was a victory celebration for him! Ha ha. Lol I checked the details of you on your page and it says you have three kids and then it says
A child of -1 months old
A child of -1 months old
A child of -1 months old

So I am not sure what child/children you have. From your post I was not sure if you were trying for number 1 or not. Sorry if I am being dense. You mentioned donor eggs and a plan B. I have to say I was very much concerned with my plan B, and what it might be! If donor eggs did not work, would we attempt adoption etc? I now feel that actually the plan is one more go at donor eggs and then if that does not work, we will review the whole thing and whether we adopt or not will be reviewed in the light of the circumstances as they are not after our final attempt. This is TOTALLY new thinking for me as I always like to have it all planned out but I must say that I feel better now with this open approach. If money were no object and DH were totally as keen as me to have another child then I might be willing to go to Spain for another donor egg or donor embryo if this did not work but I do know this is the last attempt really. Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say that I normally want a plan B but at the moment I am winging it a bit!

Shandy worth going to the doc, if you want to find out more. Don?t be put off if you are older. I3was 39 when DD was born and my doc has even checked my hormones now (at 46!!!) so you should be fine.

Curley the book I am currently reading is Overcoming Overeating: It's Not What You Eat, It's What's Eating You! By Lisa Morrone. I ordered it off the Internet just knowing a tiny bit about it. It?s written by a lady who is a Christian (in the USA) and it is quite a spiritual approach, which is working for me. It is really interesting and even since starting reading it yesterday I have started eating a lot more healthily and thinking about what I eat a whole lot more, in a really positive sense. I would say it is only really relevant if you have problems with food. If you are the kind of person who is carrying a pound or two extra or put on a tiny bit of weight after a baby etc it would probably not resonate as much as it does with me who has a real problem stopping eating at times! Anyway, have got another book as well so will critique them both when finished, if you remind me. Thanks for asking.

Love to all.
