ok, dimbo alert... what's Kinnect?

And I don't really get the appeal of the Kindle... I mean I sort of do, as in we don't have any CDs any more, all ripped in and then charity shopped, so I understand the appeal of reducing clutter, but books aren't clutter...? And isn't it odd reading a whole book on a screen?

hippychick66 · 11/03/2011 13:55

Just seen that they are expecting heavy snowfall in scotland WTF??? Anyway, tank be careful wont you?

hippychick66 · 11/03/2011 13:20

(Hippy whispers ... £32.... Don't tell DH!!!)

BB If we all keep sharing these men around our new DC's will all be half siblings - very confusing Wink. Just googled Mitchell (Aiden Turner) and he is 28 Sad - i would defo have got him if it wasn't for the age thing!!!!

Diege · 11/03/2011 13:04

Hello! Tina I've taken agnus castus on and off for a 6 mths now(always stopping after ov) and it had lengthened my luteal phase (which was 9 days). For the first 3 mths or so my I ovulated far later (ie, cd 16/17 as opposed to 11/12) but after a few mths my ovulation day came back down to day 15. Luteal phase went up to on avergae 11/12 days, though had dropped back to 10 days on the month before I got pregnant this time. Last month also started taking vit B6 up to ovulation, in addition to AC - I;d like to say it was the vit B that did the trick but I'm sure 2 weeks worth couldn't do much. As BB says, if you haven't got a short LP then I wouldn't bother as it can disrupt things. I had a dodgy one anyway, so couldn't make things worse!
All this True Blood Talk tsk tsk, is Simon Cowell not good enough for the lot of you then?? WinkJOlls I will swop my Little Green Paint Compnay chart for your Farrow and Ball (I could also trade a Fired Earth??). I get very obsessive about them and then end up buying Dulux Grin YOur house rennovations sound very exciting. We moved to my dream house 18mths ago, circa 1750 large cottage, so while we have no money to spend, there are lots of sample pots and wallpaper swathces sitting on window ledges.
Still feeling sick (very much so last night) though not actually been sick. Feels like I've Od'd on a large bag of Haribos. Pleased though Grin
HIppy the bench is awaiting - the reflexology sessions you have sound very encouraging. Are they expensive?

BeattieBow · 11/03/2011 12:46

well I'm having a mad passionate affair with your husband then hippy!

tina Agnus castus can mess up cycles I think - i remember seeing warnings on here. If your LP was ok and you appear to be ovulating regularly then I think it could cause problems. I take/took it and was fine. In my case it may be coincidental but I ov'ed at around day 12 every time rather than day 19/20/21 without. LP was ok too.

curly you should go for your prog test 7 days after ovulation - I did in on day 21 once when I'd ov'ed on day 19 and the result was quite meaningless.

hippychick66 · 11/03/2011 11:44

Tina if you're gonna have someone from True Blood surely surely it has to be Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) - OMG!!! Ohh felt an egg pop out then just thinking about him Wink I did wonder why Simon kept popping out and leaving the family home - Now I see he was going to visit you Shock

jolls I did need a number two but I sooooo don't now Grin You sound very calm and collected - well done. I agree with all your advise about the day 21 tests (once I'd made sense of it Grin)

TinaO99 · 11/03/2011 11:37

hippy I'm very angry that you were married to simon baker, that means he's a bigamist as I was also married to him lol

my current squeeze is alexander skarsgard (Eric from true blood) Grin

randomimposter · 11/03/2011 11:16

hippy sounds like you deserve a good number two too... Grin
[you can take the girl out of Essex...]

curly I know nothing about temps etc, but I did have a day 21 prog test, and went on day 19 as my cycle tended to be around 26 days. My result showed I had ovulated (actually wasn't TTC that month). Ideally you get your test done I think it's 7 days after ov; my GPs were very good at saying "we can rearrange to get a most likely match to ov+7" so maybe you could leave it a few days and see if you do ov, then phone to rearrange. If nothing happens, I'd still go for the scehduled test, and if that result was very low it would prove you haven't oved this month (does that make sense Confused...?

CD24 and no symptoms here. But feel very zen calm? I think it's because I don't think I'm pregnant, and have realised that I'm unlikely to get pg as quickly as I did before, so not to stress about it IYSWIM?

Busy on the house renovations - things have really moved on in the last fortnight and the stairs will hopefully go in in the next 2 weeks. That might mean we'll move in end of April, if not it'll be end May; and I can start thinking paint colours, and start salivating over my Farrow&Ball colour card... Grin

Right, washing to hang out.

Love to all - diege and lou, take it easy beautiful people x

Curlylox · 11/03/2011 10:52

Sorry tina don't know much if anything about Agnus Castus. I'm sure hopefulgum and bb possibly Diege can help you with your question.
I also have a question, have been temping on FF am now on my 2nd cycle......have had the ewcm, a positive on the opk but temp hasn't peaked does that mean I have/will not be ovulating? Am on cd 15 and ovulated on cd13 last month. Also suppose to be have a blood test on cd21 for progesterone, should I still go or wait for next cd21? Someone please (pretty please) come and put me out of my misery.

hippychick66 · 11/03/2011 09:10

Sorry tina I crossed posts with you. I have never taken it so don't know - but some of the others are very knowledgable and they'll help I'm sure. Hang in there kid.

hippychick66 · 11/03/2011 09:09

All very interesting Hmm....

I like forearms too. I don't notice that i look at random men around ovulation time but then I am married to Mitchell from Being Human so have no need to Wink. Yes I know I used to be married to Simon Baker from The Mentalist (do keep up please).

I had my eyebrows threaded last year and it blinkin' hurt - but looked good. I tend to just pick away with the tweezers by myself. I think the whole jewels on your bits thing (called vagazzle) comes from the only way is essex (I did NOT watch it but the girls at work did and some of them even went to the sugar hut in essex recently).

All of you must stop symptom spotting immediately - right that's them told.

Thanks lol for worrying about my carpets - at least you are bothered (unlike the gypsies).

jolls yes, you have been good and unbelievably patient - you deserve your No. 2 my love.

I had refelxology yesterday (CD8). First time for ages. I told her that both times I got pregnant at aged 43 was when she had tweaked my ovaries (via my feet) - so no pressure there then. I know that neither of those pregs worked out but at least she did encourage egg and sperm to merge and implant (maybe???) and it's not her fault they weren't the right eggs. I also find that reflexology works well on my constipation ..... but that's a different story Blush

Love to diege and lou - hang on in there on the bench - I'm coming to join you soon Wink

TinaO99 · 11/03/2011 08:55

argghhh still on a high this morning and no sign of a peak!! I started taking agnus castus last month, anyone know if this can delay ovulation or extend your cycles somehow?

hopefulgum · 11/03/2011 00:04

Sorry, that should say "his" car and "out of"...

hopefulgum · 11/03/2011 00:03

Hello, lol thanks for telling me about the wonderful waxing technique de jour! Very funny. Personally, I would find the crystals blimmen annoying, and the regrowth from going bald....Shockdon't think I'd like it. I once did the shave for a boyfriend, many years ago, he was Scottish (not that it means anything in particular), and it was fun for about a day. The itch of regrowth nearly drove me crazy. It's not very ladylike having a good old scratch of the ladybits...

Anyway...back to ttc...I had a "high" on the monitor yesterday, and a "peak" today, which was totally unexpected, as I'm only on CD13 and lately O has been day 15 or 16. So I seduced DH, and will continue to do so over the next couple of days. Would love to have a BFP this time - a Christmas baby would be more than welcome. But also trying to stay relaxed.

My acupuncturist was reassuring me that there is no hurry, and I shouldn't give myself an end date, that it is very reasonable to still get pregnant at 48. However, I still want my LO to have a sibling that isn't too much younger. Hopefully we'll get our take home baby soon, but not going to stress about it.

I'd better run, have to drive DH to work as hid car is in the panel beaters being fixed. He reversed out og the carport and DD2 still had the door open. It wasn't pretty - door not completely off, but very mangled!

Will catch up properly, later...CheersWine

Diege · 10/03/2011 22:11

Yes Isaboo I'd say that treading would be very painful Grin. As regards threading, it's pretty constant so while the actual removal isn't too bad, the fact that there's no respite (unlike waxing)makes it a more painful process than the latter for me.
Off to bed now - enjoyed the new 'Monroe' thing on ITV; anyone else watch it?

Isaboo · 10/03/2011 21:58

Lol almost anything can be a pregnancy symptom have just looked up "boobs return to normal" on a two week wait website and found bunch of ladies who cite this as a "symptom" ? at some point so its not necessarily over yet... hang in there Smile .... didn't look up "finding Wagner hot" though or is that for ovulation I am bit confused .....

I am too tired to post more now and its only 9.55pm...yes I know fatigue....and the strange sandwich craving on school run today symptom mania has arrived for sure.

Oh I have a constant battle with eyebrows ....does treading hurt?

lolfactor · 10/03/2011 21:46

Well, that conversation took my mind off twinges for once. I'd LOVE to try threading, but B'sted's just not geared up for it. The waxing lady made me laugh. She thought that I should try a new hairstyle down there...Seriously. She offered to whip it all off and stick on fake diamonds spelling out dps initials. Shock. Is this all the rage? Have I missed something? She said loads of people have it done. Where've I been? Dp would laugh himself silly before choking on a swarowski crystal.

Sick of twinges, temps and misbehaving boobs. If it was a delayed ovulation, I've only swi'd once. Dps good - but he's probably not THAT good, so I need to take my mind off it. My builder's got lovely forearms...

Diege · 10/03/2011 20:33

Meant to say Lol to your earlier post, would deflated boobs etc necessairly mean things hadn't worked out this month? Obviously you know your own body better than I do, but my tummy/boobs inflate/deflate at random throughout the month. Can you be that sure it's bad news? DO you temp at all?

randomimposter · 10/03/2011 20:32

interesting... Hmm

I'm odd things in general (as in numbers)... partly it's the old design/display thing, always in odds (3s/5s)... My ideal would be 3 children, that was my naive stooooopid plan when first TTC#2 nearly 2 years ago. But I'd "settle" for 2 now [please, I've been very good] Grin.

I've only had threading in Mauritius - it was great, but I've only had waxing since... there was nowhere locally doing threading in 2006, so I just went back to what I'd always had. Might reinvestigate...

Diege · 10/03/2011 20:10

I agree, threading is brill Curly though the lady who did mine last (in shopping centre, I should have guessed) was a bit overzealous and they came out very thin..only just grown back several mths later.
BB I also have a thing about even numbers (hence 4) but may have to settle for an odd number in total. Can't see me going through all of this again! (if it works out) I would also leave the agnus if I were you; it's not known as nature's clomid for nothing, so can't see why you'd need it on top of the proper stuff.
I also share the biscuit thing with your dh Curly - it feels very unfinished to take either 1 or 3 biscuits (esp one).

Curlylox · 10/03/2011 19:57

Threading is fab, would never go back to waxing......ever. My Dh has an unexplicable need to have even numbers when he raids the biscuit tin Confused Right BB so we're hoping for one baby not twins then. I look forward to my two days off (work 3 full days) but wish I was at work to be honest as can't think of nothing else but temping, opk, twinges, cm etc etc it's driving me cccrrrrraaaaaazzzzyyyyyyy aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhh

OP posts:
BeattieBow · 10/03/2011 19:38

oh is a thing about forearms common I thought it was just me. but yes, nice manly forearms.

I've never had my eyebrows threaded, but would like to try. Mine are severely bushy at the moment.

No side effects on clomid yet! But I think if I google side effects I may find I have some Smile

I decided not to take Agnus castus at the same time this month - didn't want to go overboard.

and yes, I would probably die of shock if I was pg with twins. the main problem would be though that I have this inexplicable need to have an even number of children. so could I stop if I had twins (nos 6 and 7)??/ (hypothetical question, dh would leave me!)

Diege · 10/03/2011 19:17

Grin so you are Wagner's 'laydee' then...should I try and get him to sign something for you? Maybe a packet of opks? Wink I am seriously impressed with my memory skills. Now who was it on here who had a brace fitted around the same time as me? Confused
