Let's see how calm I am when we get to wk 8. Logically I know it makes no difference and if it's not going to happen it won't irrelevant of if I have a scan or not. But it is fun to see it on a screen.

Owl they offered me another scan in 2 weeks (but just for fun) which I declined and I have my next AN in 3 weeks (booked last week) so they'll probably scan me then.

Pips definitely worth discussing with your MW. At the moment the scanning dept near me are drowning in preggo ladies so I knew I stood no chance and went private, but it seems to vary wildly from area to area. Always worth asking!

I had my first scan today at 6+1/2 and discovered that I'm having twins. Still in shock. 22 months failure and then this. Can't believe it at all.

Hi Pippa my GP just offered it to me for my own sanity but also because she didn't want to book me in until we knew the viability. I would ask for one and if your GP/mw is sympathetic may offer to refer you for one. Other than that I, like many people booked a private scan... approx £70 I think, it may be worth it for peace of mind. Good luck and let us know how you get on

Hi pippa sorry no idea as round my way you don't even get a midwife appointment until 12 weeks, then the first scan at 14 or 16 weeks!! Yeah right, as if I was going to wait that long!! I would imagine you can ask for one ,but hopefully someone will be along with answers soon.

I've got a booking in appt with the midwife next Wednesday (8 weeks) - can I ask her for one? So desperately want to know it's all ok in there. Or will she be able to hear a heart beat? owly I think wasabi do if there's one near you. I'd steer clear though as I think it comes out of a mr whippy style machine. A basic ice cream machine is max £50 from Argos or amazon-I've got a kenwood one it's fab!! Tell mr boots that's your valentines prezzie of choice!!

I'm constantly cold too!

Have just had a bag of, you guessed it, salt and vinegar real McCoys. It was amazing. I have another in my handbag-luckily I'm with colleagues so would be too embarrassing to eat them otherwise I'd be straight in there.

Ive still been drinking a glass of pineapple juice every morning as I like it but read on the other thread the enzyme can cause uterine contractions-shit!! I am too scaredto eat anything these days-might just stick with the crisps.....

Hairy I too have blue nails (new since pg) and am constantly cold - I thought it was meant to be the other way around but apparently not for me!
