Gosh it's been an emotional day on here.

hairy hugs for you darling, you've been through the mill today - but at least you were given some reassurance with your hcg test. It sounds like they're doing everything to keep you informed. Last time I had an hcg test they called me back two days later (by which time it was pretty clear I had mc'ed Sad).

Have had a lovely day out with ds and a friend with ds the same age. I started getting back ache as we set off with maybe a little heightened sensitivity to smell (don't those street stalls selling fried donuts smell disgusting?) so am clinging onto a sliver of hope. 13dpo today, think I might need to be sedated for the next few weeks.

I should know this by now but when will my faint line turn into a big fat line?

Need an early night, ds is far too heavy to be lugging around the south bank without dh to help but it's nice to be able to go out without the buggy. (hopefully I'll be inconvenienced again in about 8 months)

PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 19:00

Mmmmm Ribena out of a carton is massively superior, it's not irrational. It's like the difference between coke out of a glass bottle and coke out of a plastic bottle - totally different drink.

Hahahahahahahahahahahah Grin Grin Grin at the leggings!!!! Now I'm intrigued a) how it happened and b) what you did after the event? Did you have to try and rinse and dry under the little hand dryer thingy?? Sounds all v. stressful!

owlbooty · 04/02/2011 18:39

God I love ribena right now. But only out of cartons. And yes I was this irrational before I got updiffed, it tastes wrong when I make it from a bottle.

Pink this is definitely TMI but I did actually manage to wee on my bloody leggings at my booking in appt whilst aiming for the sample pot. Do not ask. Just do not ask.

PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 18:31

Hahaha owly thanks for the tip! tbh my wee goes in such random directions it's a bit of a mission trying to get any of it in those little sample pots without weeing all over my arm.... TMI?????

nix you animal, not sure I'm keen for non-alcoholic vino! I'm going to join mamap on the Ribena Grin

Emoo · 04/02/2011 18:23

Ooooh yum Wine thanks! Shame about the lack of alcohol though Wink.

Mamapower · 04/02/2011 18:22

nix should Wine ever be non-alcoholic??? Thanks hon but think I'll wait it out...only another 8 months to go Grin

nickstermum · 04/02/2011 17:57

I see no one has yet spotted nor shared round the non alcoholic vino!!!

Thank you for the fishy assistance Grin

Pink it was just to tell me that I hadn't actually given them a sample they could use. VERY badly worded letter.

Still, I have now learnt that one should not attempt to get the first bit of wee in the pot, as this tends to contaminate your sample in random ways (probably because you end up weeing on your fingers as well). Joy, joy, joy.

Hairy so glad it's not just me that's going loopy. Let me gently pat you with this salmon.

PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 17:22

emoo I had a bit of a frenzied munch out on Leerdammer earlier on but at lunchtime I had a nap and woke up mid dream about cake, so I think I've got back to my first true love Grin

PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 17:20

PS there's also mini battenburgs here - I probably shouldn't eat 11 cakes by myself.....

Emoo · 04/02/2011 17:20
PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 17:20

owly you are barking!!! :D You've seen little owlbean doing headstands!! hahahaha (((hugs))) What did the GP want though?? It pigs me off they send scary stuff like that - I've had things like that before and it turns out that all they want is a routine asthma checkup or something non-life threatening.

hairyfairylights · 04/02/2011 17:18

Owly thanks, and bless you with the urine test. I did one at the hospital today, and had the same thought 'what if it's negative'?

owlbooty · 04/02/2011 17:13

Hairy lovely, so pleased the hcg looks sensible and that you are getting plenty of support from your DP. Consultant is absolutely right about how long eggs and sperm live so I suggest we all just steal Pink 's fondant fancies, have a relaxing evening and hopefully a good night's sleep.

I did some properly barking mad mentalling this morning that I would just like to share with you. I got a stupid letter from my GP saying they had the results of a urine sample and wanted me to book a routine appt. Cue immediate panic. My first thought was (genuinely, honestly): "argh! what if they have found I am not actually pregnant??"

Please deploy largest fish available at first possible opportunity.

hairyfairylights · 04/02/2011 17:08

thanks again all.

The sonographer was lovely but she was the one that was basically negative, the consultant (or rather, registrar, I think) was more positive about it.

I just hated the whole process of getting in there, having to lie down and look at the ceiling, nothing being said... then having to go into the room where they put the upset people, to wait (same room I was put in when I got the MMC result). I wish I never had to darken those doors again, I really do!

Gosh, Pinky good for you going out for a walk in this weather!

Emoo · 04/02/2011 17:06

Hairy - glad you are getting some tlc in RL as well as from here. It's going to be a horrid and scary wait for you, but at least you know it's not ectopic, and that your hcg is rising, and that's all a good start.

PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 16:56

Sorry no idea about sac diameter by the way but sounds like a decent size though??

PinkFondantFancy · 04/02/2011 16:55

hairy that is great news - sounds like your HCG is right on track. I just wanted to back up what choccie said - when I went for a scan at 6 weeks they said they were only scanning to see whether there was a pregnancy in the right place and that I shouldn't necessarily expect to see anything because things change so rapidly, a conception date a few days either way makes a big difference. Also, the clinic where I went only does internal scans for early scans - from what little experience I have it seems they can see more that way so I'm sorry they stressed you out with the abdominal one.

I just went for a walk to clear the cobwebs a bit which started off well going round the park but ended in Morrisons buying fondant fancies.......

Wombat33 · 04/02/2011 16:43

Hairy that sounds positive news. Glad you are getting another test too. At least they (and your DP) seem to be looking after you. I don't know anything about mean sac diameter I'm afraid but am hoping someone else will! xx

hairyfairylights · 04/02/2011 16:27

Thanks everyone, it so helps to know you are all virtually holding my hand.

Have had cuddles with DP this afternoon, and had a little sleep on the sofa.

Mamap thank you :)

I've just looked at the note again (DP took a sneaky picture of it on his phone) and it says
MSD (which I'm led to believe is 'mean sac diameter') is 7.4mm, don't know if that's normal or not at this stage.

Don't know about the rest of you but I want to know every detail, I'm sure I drive the doctors crazy!

Mamapower · 04/02/2011 16:21

we knew what you meant hairy Smile
Honestly babe, I think it'll be fine, I was 6+1 when they scanned me on Monday but my gestational age was more like 5+1 they only just saw the sac... keep the faith Smile

nickstermum · 04/02/2011 16:16

Fab news re the hcg Hairs news to me re 4 days!!!
