Oh hairy I've been really hot too ( and sweaty... Blush )

Also new symptom for today is not being able to breathe.....

PinkFondantFancy · 07/02/2011 18:22

owl your symptom diary is fab!

nicks he didn't elaborate but when I called him at 4w+2 he asked if I had any symptoms and I said only an upset stomach and he said Goooooood sign. Like that.

I have eaten a shedload of fruit to try to stave off nausea. It didn't work and now I have the most horrendous gut cramps. We all know where this ends...... Ooh coming out of both ends will be a fab way to start week 7!!

mousebacon · 07/02/2011 18:22

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 18:19

Mamapower · 07/02/2011 18:18

just realised... where's wombat???

Mamapower · 07/02/2011 18:13

oh silly you must feeling all over the place. I can only echo nix and digi in saying you'd need your HCG levels taken and or a scan. What a horrible uncertain place for you... take care and do get in touch with the EPAU nurse, keep us posted and fx for you Smile

SillyCalamari · 07/02/2011 18:13

thanks digitalgirl (not harsh at all!) and nickstermum

The last miscarriage as EPRC and no I didn't get a scan afterwards.
I'll call the epu and try and get an appointment.

Fingers crossed.

x

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 17:57

silly the only way you are going to truly know is by contacting your epu and getting a scan.... It is possible to conceive during your WTF but you wont know (unless you had a negative test in between MC and conceiving again whether its a new pg or whether infact its still the old one.

It could be the old one, perhaps for retained products? Was it natural MC or EPRC? Were you rescanned after MCing?

All qu's you need to ask yourself...

Sorry for your losses... i do so so hope tis a new PG!

digitalgirl · 07/02/2011 17:55

Apols, reading back my post sounds harsh. Am on iPhone and trying to post quickly - you have my utmost sympathy, must be awful not knowing which way things are going. Do push for an hcg test though, perhaps tell epu you are pg again and spotting, they should see you to at least rule out ectopic.

digitalgirl · 07/02/2011 17:52

sillycalamari are you able to get your hcg levels tested at your epu? Much more reliable than a cb digi. I think this is the only way you can get a clear answer.
You're right to reserve judgement, I would have thought getting a positive opk 10 days after an erpc was quite soon, but not impossible.
Personally I have never ovulated straight after a natural mc, but have always had an anovulatory bleed (mainly brown and fairly light) which is then followed by a fairly short cycle but a much heavier period. Everyone is different though.

SillyCalamari · 07/02/2011 17:43

This is a complicated one but if you can be bothered to read through and lend your support that would be great...

I miscarried for the 2nd time at the end of last yr and had an EPRC/D&C on 31st Dec. I was 8 weeks.

Last time (a natural miscarriage at 12 weeks, embryo stopped growing at 7 weeks) I got my period about 24 days later, so I assumed it would be similar this time round. I did an ovulation test at around day 10 and it gave me the smiley face, so we had sex 3 times over the next 3 days. We've always been quite lucky in getting pregnant quickly. I did a positive preg test when I reckon my period was due (24th Jan) and it was positive. It said I was 2-3 weeks from conception.

So I assumed I was pregnant BUT then I read too much on the internet and called Clearblue and people were saying that I could still get a positive ovulation test AND a positive pregnancy test because of the miscarriage rather than a new pregnancy.

So was I pregnant or just hormones left over from the miscarriage?

I have done three more pregnancy tests and one ovulation test since and they've all come out positive (apparently the ovulation test should always read positive if you're pregnant as the hormones are pretty similar). But to add to the complication the preg test that tells you how many weeks since conception said 1-2 weeks (less than it had said before and not quite long enough to ring true). So, whether pregnant or not, did this mean that my hormones were going down?

The latest is that now I've started spotting - not really red blood but dark brown that seems to come in the afternoons.

There are so many scenarios I don't know what to think. I am going to have an early scan for some answers but that's a couple of weeks away.

  • Maybe I'm not pregnant at all and this is my first period (but it's not like a real period)
  • Maybe I'm not pregnant at all and my body is all over the place (but i was fine last time and given that I had the op this time around was hoping it would go back to normal at least as quickly as it did with a natural miscarriage)
  • Maybe I was pregnant and I'm going through a chemical miscarriage (but wouldn't that be heavier / red blood, even clots?)
  • Maybe I'm pregnant and implantation bleeding
  • Maybe I'm pregnant and about to miscarry again.

I AM GOING CRAZY!!!!
Anyone have any idea or thoughts? I can't bear the idea of miscarrying for the 3rd time, that makes me worry that something's wrong and I'll never have another baby. My first pregnancy was great by the way, no problems and our lovely son is almost 2.

x

Oh Dachs how bloody awful. I think that i/f and m/c together are a particularly cruel type of torture. The odds are in our favour though that all will be well this time. That's what I keep telling myself anyway!

owlbooty · 07/02/2011 16:41

I spend a fair bit of my life in traffic jams, will have to investigate this tapping malarkey as I do get terribly bored whilst sitting there. Might as well do something constructive instead of swearing at people and waving fingers. Or finger.

Nix you're making me very happy our cat is a lazy fatpuss who only catches things that basically fall out of trees on to his head. Grin

DachshundsWantPuppies · 07/02/2011 16:40

barbie I had my mc in August (mmc at 8 weeks, empty sac measuring 5-6 weeks) having tried for 7 long years to get there in the first place. Therefore completely terrified about losing this one too... Trying to be zen and relaxed about this one! Which is about as possible as putting out a fire with petrol, but I am trying...

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 16:37

Fecking cat... another live mouse! Trying to rest work at home and have had to chase another moose round the hooose! I will be tapping 7kilocat before long... with my boot! Thankfully my 1kilocat is a bit of a ratter and caught it Grin so its now in the garden

hairylights · 07/02/2011 16:20

I so hope so mamap I hope we get to be the ex freaks with babies one day :)

BarbiesBeaver · 07/02/2011 15:52

Ah great, get tapping! I do it in the car at every traffic light and before I go to sleep. How brilliant to have due date buddies Dachs and Emoo. Even the same scan dates Dachs! Can I ask when you m/c before? It will be great to have people to hold hands through all this.

Mamapower · 07/02/2011 15:08

We'll both be alreeet, I got a good feeling x

hairylights · 07/02/2011 15:03

MamaP We are doing the dreaded 9am slot - at least then we get in and out early, and hopefully don't have to wait around with everyone else. I'll be doing the 'staring at the spot on the ceiling' thing again.

hairylights · 07/02/2011 15:01

I looked for the 'like' button then, Pink Grin

I also have a long-winded affirmation "We have a happy, healthy, normal pregnancy, a happy, healthy, normal birth, a happy healthy normal child and we all live happily, healthily and normally together ever after"

Mamapower · 07/02/2011 14:58

Hairy in the unlikely event the NHS are running on time I'm in at 1.15pm. DH will be away on business and the last time I was scanned and he was away on business... Sad Anyway, my best friend is coming to hold my hand so at least I won't be alone! What time you and your bean up?

PinkFondantFancy · 07/02/2011 14:15

ooh a big tapping fan here too although Ive been a bit lax of late "I choose to feel calm and confident about my pregnancy"

hairylights · 07/02/2011 14:04

clutches Mamap's hand tightly. What time is your scan on Friday?

All - sorry for no individual name checks, but thank you ALL for your encouragement. Am writing rushed freakout posts whilst at work.

And Nicks no don't worry about that! All is well.

Another useful thing for you 'visioning' types Louise Hay's mantra for dealing with fear of miscarriage "Divine right action is always taking place in my life. I love and approve of myself. All is well.? I have this on a canvas on my bedroom wall, so that I see it every morning when I wake up.

and yes! Barbie - Welcome! I had forgotten about meridian tapping (going to start that again !)

Im now having hot flushes Blush - fgs, don't tell me I'm experiencing menopausal symptoms in the middle of early pregnancy too Grin
