A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

For reference here's a link back to the previous thread

Welcome newbies, I'm sorry for your losses Sad and hope your stay here is short x

blackkat glad the fanjocam gave you the all clear

Been so busy on here today I can't keep up - but whoever was asking about clearblue tests I use the fertility monitor, haven't actually tried the digi opks, but as I understand it the theory is that you get a + or a smiley face 12-48 hours before you ov - have I got that right?

Mamapower · 09/02/2011 17:37

izzy how you feeling today?

Hi Collie, all good thanks lovely Im not shitting it about my scan on friday at all. Glad to see you are now on the TTC list, wha hoo... bring on the SWI and good luck Grin

Hi newbies, sorry for your losses and hope that your stay here is short, in the meantime though you will be well looked after here Smile

Collie2 · 09/02/2011 17:30

Grin Grin god knows where this good mood has come from. could be the large vino waitng for me with my best friend! Smile

Collie2 · 09/02/2011 17:11

OMG that's. Ridiculous sized post... Sorry!! And there's another half a dozen since I started!!! Lol

Collie2 · 09/02/2011 17:08

Hi everyone. Sorry I didn't catch up properly yesterday. So this is a long one trying to reply to as many as can.

Yrmotb it was me asking about vit e thanks. Based on what you said I think that's 4 or 5 of my capsules so had them over 2 days. V much in need as had major outbreak with onset of AF!!!

Chloe .....still no AF! Well it's certainly not a bad thing and can't help get my hopes up for you. So glad you app with GP went well I hope you get a referal soon, so sorry you're feeling so sad at the moment.

Izzy and yrmotb i am inpressed with your commitment to smep!! Every day or 36 hours is very good going! Grin
I have a question about SMEP. If my ucl is 40 and ov day roughly 23, then do I still need to start swi on day 8???? That's an AGE!! DH is more than enthusiastic about swi but every otherday for at least 17 days and then EVERYDAY....???? God it's exhausting just saying it. Do you think starting to swi on say, day 14 would count? Or do I need to stick to the plan and stop complaining?!!! Grin

Izzy sorry you're feeling fed up with it. I know it must be hard to keep positive all the time. I agree, a bit of wallowing for a little bit is not a bad thing, it gets it out if your system. Smep will work though!! I can just feel it!!!

Cep checked out your chart this morn (so nosey), did you ov today? That's a big temp hike. Wonder if anyone else has seen it as I can't really read them yet. Opks worked for me in the morn but had nothing during WTF.... possibly didn't ov but going to do 2 a day too this month!! I'd get swi if I were you. Tell DH he'll just have to 'suffer' in silence!! Smile

Ninunian hi and sorry for your loss. Everyone is differnt in terms of going back to work so just when you're ready. I would say though if you're in the midst of your mc and are still in pain tomorrow does sound early. Phyiscal recovery ( not just the bleeding stopping) and emotional takes longer than you think sometimes. If you think you're ready, fine, but don't rush yourself. Good luck for your Epu app.

Blackkat what an annoying comment from the sonographer. but glad it went ok and you got the all clear. Grin at fanjocam. Sorry to hear it took you 3 1/2 years to get your bfp, to only lose it. Life can be cruel. fx for you though. X

Mouse glad to hear work is going ok. You sound like a trouper! Smile at your 'feck off bleeding' comment!!
I'm glad you have a cremation date but I imagine it feels like a long wait. If you don't mind me asking how 'old' was your baby? X

Hello to Welli all the way in sunny oz.. I'm sorry it's bringing back emotions. It's completely natural to feel that way, and I can relate to that sense of sadness when you've planned something with your pg in mind but now it's gone. But you're right, that hospital is just waiting for you to get your bfp!!

Mumtum and maybe sorry for both your loses. I too, and a few of us other newbies (do I still count as a newbie?) mc over christmas also. mumtum LILI and I got our first AF after mc yesterday!

Katherine sorry for your loss too. Don't be sorry for the bit of self pity, most if not all on here have felt same way a some point so you're in very good company!! It's very hard hearing about new pg friends, I know as I gad that news last week and it brought me to tears. But it does get easier..... I hope Grin x ps yes smiley face on opk means you were ovukating.

Hills hi!! Glad you're feeling better and have given yourself time. Glad you had nice weekend with sis and niece.

Your negative from poas is good, (just this one time) although I know also a little sad. Things are getting back to normal in your body.

AandR Velvet mammap mummya hope you are all ok?

Somebody asked for everyones charts. Ovulation Chart Here's mine . Do people mind being friend requested in FF? I'd really like to stalk your charts benefit from looking at others!

Also, can someone move me to the TTC list as AF came (yay) Smile I would i'm on my phone and I just know I'll cock it up... This bloody ginormous message has been hard enough.
My updated stats are UCL 40 CD2

Ok, going now to rest my index finger Grin

youremindmeofthebabe · 09/02/2011 16:56

SMEP

It's the plan of the month!

Ninunina · 09/02/2011 16:45

Can someone explain what SMEP stands for? I've looked on the acronyms list but couldn't find it Hmm

katherine2008 · 09/02/2011 16:40

I'm meant to be on an alcohol free week, but quite frankly sod that. As soon as DD is in bed I shall be opening that cheeky bottle of Sauvignon! Enjoy your dinner - got to keep the energy levels up for later! Wink

cep · 09/02/2011 16:33

i normally do katherine but thought i've got garlic bread with dinner, a chocolate mousse, and am going to try to make some popcorn later, so best avoid the marshmallows today. i also haven't got any squirty cream i normally like that with it as well.

katherine2008 · 09/02/2011 16:30

cep have some marshmallow in the Hot Chocolate from me!

cep · 09/02/2011 16:27

afternoon all,

wellie sorry dubai was a bit emotional, sneaks up on your doesn't it. good luck for oz.

mumtumwanted and maybebabyr welcome and sorry you have to be here.

blackkat so glad the scan went well, that's a good worry off your mind.

katherine sorry it's a bit hard at the moment. It is difficult when there seems to be pg people around everywhere.

hils glad you had a good visit with your dsis and dn.

yrmotb feels gross doing it doesn't it, and it's weird just how quickly it drops to the bottom of the glass.

Well i've had a pants day today at work and feeling very stressed/low have done for last couple of days really, i've decided i'm having a sod the diet evening. so sipping on hot chocolate.

my cm went from creamy to watery and back to creamy, where's my egg white. as per ususal ov tests all neg, hoping this mornings temp wasn't a sign i've ov'd, cause if so don't think i've been successful this month either. But just incase plan to dtd still on for tonight.

katherine2008 · 09/02/2011 16:27

Thank you thank you for your advice. I have always been a little short - usually 27/28 but it did feel shorter this month. I also had dreadful ovulation pain (I think - I've never had it before) on Day 11 and 12 - enough to take a painkiller. Will try Evening Primrose oil too. I think us oldies get less mucus, but will keep an eye out for the slippery stuff this month! knitter thanks for finding time for me - and don't worry about a thing, sounds like a keeper to me!

KnitterNotTwitter · 09/02/2011 16:19

Ninunina thanks for the superglue :) I feel amazingly optimistic about this pregnancy at the moment... no doubt i'll panic in about 4-5 weeks time which is when my MMC started struggling :(

katherine2008 I (and most of the ladies on this thread) know exactly what you mean about finding friends pg's difficult. I always described it as the fact that I didn't want them to not have their babies but that I wanted it for me... people who haven't had a MC didn't seem to get what I meant but those who had did. I had two very good friends have babies pretty much on the due dates for both my lost pregnancies. It is so difficult when you think of what might have been. I made an extra special effort to see the babies as soon as I could so i didn't develop a 'thing' about them which seemed to work for me, but there are different strategies so you just need to work out what is right for you.

I also have trouble doing my temperature so hadn't been doing the FF thing properly - my 30mo was always far too interested in the thermometer :) It does seem like you probably ovulated on/around day 10... Is a 26 day cycle short for you or is that normal? Another thing that i found helpful was to take Evening Primrose Oil. It definitely helped smooth out the peaks and troughs of my hormone cycle and I believe that the combination of the EPO and Grapefruit for breakfast were the keys to this months BFP for me....

Hils good news on the 'back to normal' fingers crossed for you...

Blackkat congrats on your scan too

maybebaby FWIW I don't think there is such a thing as 'normal' when TTC.... According to my books the average woman takes 7 months to concieve... but within that statistic are lots of people who concieve first month of trying and lots who take much longer. It's also worth noting that 1 in 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage. There is loads of good information on the Fertility Friend website which I found very useful (I learnt stuff I didn't know and I did Biology at university!)

to everyone else

I still feel like I belong here more than the 'panic lounge' so I hope you don't mind me hanging around for a while longer....

Mucus charting is only measuring your mucus:
Dry=just after period,
Creamy
Wet=slippery
Eggwhite=stretchy and clear.

Dry and sticky= not fertile(probably)
Wet or EW= possibly fertile, with EW being most fertile.

katherine2008 · 09/02/2011 16:06

Thanks babe - god, not sure about mucus charting - help?!! Thank you for making me smile about the CBFM - I shall see that bit of plastic in a whole new light! Izzy if you are around, I did then test on the OPK on Day 13 and no smiley face then?

Welcome newbies, sorry for your losses x

I've been lurking this week just taking things slowly, had a visit from my sis and 3 month old neice yesterday which was actually just what I needed. Got my baby fix and I didn't end up a dribbly mess...

I'm going to go back to work on Monday and see how I get on. One of the girls at work guessed why I have been off so at least I'll have someone to talk to if things get bad.

POAS this morning and it looks like all pg hormones have gone, so DP and I will be TTC asap :)

katherine2008 · 09/02/2011 15:06

sorry should have said 'know more about their cycles' - more misery, I can't even spell!! Confused

katherine2008 · 09/02/2011 15:06

Still lurking but needed some support today - as just found out two friends are pg. I've only had one cycle since mmc in December and we did try the SMEP but no BFP - no surprise really. Just wanted a little advice really from ladies who no more about their cycles than I do - my cycle last month lasted 26 days and I got a smiley face on the OPK on day 10 - can I guess from that when I likely ovulated? I did take temperature but it didn't seem to show any drop although it did go up a little on Day 14. I don't actually get up at the same time every day (and sleep is hard to come by thanks to DD age 27mo so not sure I want to set the alarm for it). I have just turned 40, so feeling really down in the dumps and useless. Sorry for self pity. I am so pleased to see some good stories and BFPs on here and to the newbies, I am so sorry for your losses and I just know that you won't be here for long. Thanks for listening and any advice appreciated.

Blackkat · 09/02/2011 14:33

Ninunina glad to hear GP was understanding, TLC is so important after a mc - take as long as you need to feel right. I'm into my fourth week off work - natural m/c didn't go according to plan - and I go back next week, I know I couldn't have gone back any sooner.

Welcome to Maybe and Mumtum so sorry to hear your sad news, what a crappy Christmas and NY you must have had Sad. Hope things settle for you both soon and good luck with TTC!

YRMOTB Izzy A+RMum MummyA hope today is more cheerful not quite sure what cheer up tunes to put on the stereo bcs my music taste is questionable Blush, so I won't embarrass myself! Wink, Thinking of you all ((hugs))

Thinking of you having a rotten time on Clomid chloe - cycle 1 was the worst for me and UCL really calmed down after that first horrid round. ((Hugs)) bloody horrid drugs.

Hello to wellie hiding brownb
to hils Lili Collie knitter hope you are all doing ok? Sorry if I've missed anyone else -

Thanks Owl, Mouse, YRMOTB, Cep & MummyA for your good wishes this morning. Cheered me up. Fanjocam made me and DH LOL, therefore has been renamed from dildocam - which was what my RL friends had christened it.

The scan was clear. Sonographer did wonder why I was there given I'd had the emergency ERPC, she nearly got FC poked right in her eye for such a f*ckwit comment.

Got final blood count results, and need iron tabs as am anaemic after blood loss, but once that's ok I'm fully discharged to "normal" (for normal read, bonkers TTC) life. Was warned that my AF will be totally WTF because of the PCOS. Given the 3 1/2 years it took me to get BFP #1 I bloody hope not. GP referring me back to gynae. So hopefully we can get back in the saddle
