A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

For reference here's a link back to the previous thread

Latest stats to follow in a moment!

Hello all - it's such a fast moving thread I can't keep up! Wombat - that's great news on the scan, and Cep - just think what your mother (and her generation) did with the cigs etc when she (they) was pregnant with you (etc)!

So - my mc finished it's thing last Thursday, and last Friday had a scan. The doc said that my ovaries looked "sleepy" and my uterus was quite thin. And on Wednesday this week I got EWCM and am now showing positive on the OPK internet cheapies. (-'ve on Wed, +'ve Thurs and faintly +'ve today). Is this possible? Have attached my FF chart here, in case anyone is interested enough to take a quick look and give me their opinion... It's a definite WTF cycle, and I don't know what to think.

owlbooty · 28/01/2011 09:51

Morning ladies :)

Pink my pie charts are ones based on percentage. For example, percentage chance of success after 1 mc or even 2 mc - still looks bloody good if you draw it as a pie chart. Percentage chance of bean sticking if bfp is achieved - high. Percentage chance once HB seen - and so on. As we know to our cost when we fell foul of the 1/4 statistic the first time round this doesn't always pan out but I found it helpful to draw the pie chart for whatever stage I was at, and look at the relatively tiny wedge that was the risk.

Chloe twill be fine my lovely. Beans apparently don't take anything from you until about week 6 so theoretically a nice 'relaxing' Wink evening was probably good for the soul, if not for the innards the morning after Grin

Bee see you when you're feeling less jittery, I also know exactly what you mean about needing time out. x

Hugs to everyone else - it's nearly the weekend :)

Chloe55 · 28/01/2011 09:40

Morning ladies,

Cep - sorry you think she is rearing her evil head Sad

Welcome Pooch & LILY Smile

Bee - totally understandable but I bet you lurk even if you don't post, then someone will want to POAS/not POAS quick enough and you will have to chip in Wink

Choccybik - Good luck with the TTLW. I too will be joining you as it appears I don't fit into 2 pairs of jeans that I did before Christmas Shock

Mouse - I am glad that you are home and as ok as you can be. I spoke about you to my dh last night and we were both in tears. I know that awful feeling of wanting the baby gone as it is a real mindf*ck when they have died but also that longing to cling on to them and not want to let them go. It's so so Sad I found the nurses at the hospital brilliant too.

Emoo - bet you were well impressed at the nail varnish episode - does the colour suit your room? Grin

Orange - a break away sounds like a fab idea. You deserve some time to relax.

Collie - Your BFN is a really positive sign as it means that your body is returning to a position that allows you to try again. I understand why you were Sad about it though.

Ok, so I was a bit naughty last night. Am in the TWW period but decided to have some sparkling wine with dh last night as he has had a really bad week at work. I ended up polishing off the bottle as managed to convince myself I am not pg again and have just had such a shitty time on the Clomid and it was the first tie I actually felt like I wanted a drink Blush So, I am feeling rather guilty today on the whole but what if scenario. Oh and I had a couple of cigs Hmm I am so crap with willpower when I have a drink. I feel sick as a pig today but only have myself to blame. (I guess it's an improvement on the usual 2 bottles of wine and 20 cigs that I would have happily had in the past though)

Well, guess I had better get back to painting my kitchen mural. Not sure I have the concentration Confused

cep · 28/01/2011 07:49

morning all, just a quickie.

pooch welcome sorry you have to be here. i have trouble getting the quota i need from my dh as well.

bee take as much time as you need, hon we'll be here. Smile

orange oooh spa, have a lovely relaxing time.

as for me spotting getting heavier so af pretty much here. my back is still agony but i have to go into work today Sad speak to you all later

hello to everyone else hope you're all ok.

nickstermum · 28/01/2011 07:18

Bee exactly understand, am kind of there myself too. Hope everything remains positive, fx everything is well. Look forward to hearing your good news very soon :)

Mouse glad you are physically ok my lovely xx

OrangeGloss · 28/01/2011 06:45

Oh yeah, I won't be going in the sauna, etc I'm planning to lie by the pool and nap read

OrangeGloss · 28/01/2011 06:44

Mowning, again I've missed so much
Welcome to the newbies, I am sorry for your losses and hope your time here is short

Wombat that's good service with the scan, I'm tempted to have another as my birthday is in between now and 12 week scan
Hadrian sorry about the -POAS it might be too early?
Mummya I think you can be forgiven this time for early POAS, and like Hadrian might just be too early, but then you know that cos you're the Oracle Wink :)
Mouse I'm glad you are now back home, and hope you are being well looked after, and have that sicknote to to shove up your bosses ass if he doesn't play nice
Ladybee I know exactly what you mean, I've needed to stay away from the Internet in general for my own sanity

We've hopefully booked a night away at a hotel/spa for tonight. Some kind of dinner, B+B and treatment last minute deal. I've spent so much time in the house feeling sad, I'm thinking a night away will wipe someone the slate clean and I'll come back to a fresh start. Don't know if that makes sense Blush Grin

Sorry for the lame catchup, I normally make notes, but I'm thinking of everyone and sending the appropriate sticky/positive vibes

Choccybick · 28/01/2011 05:58

Mousebacon Im really sorry to hear about your mc.

Day off and I'm lying awake at an ungodly hour! Dh flight delayed, but at least it took off!! Yay. Sorry, just missed him lots and need him to ttc Grin

I POAN last night. Realised from your posts I should have taken a test for BFN after my mc, which I got.. Sad. I know it's a good thing as it means things are settling down, but it really sucked!!

Sorry for being me me me. Just needed to get that off my chest.

Hoping everyone has a good day today! Xx

Emoo · 27/01/2011 23:01

mouse glad you are home safe. Look after yourself and gets lots of tlc from those around you.

pooch welcome to the thread and sorry for your loss. You will find lots of support here. There are a few of us with only intermittently cooperative men, so you are not alone.

mummya and Hadrian - sorry about the bfns. I am afraid I have been mentalling all day too. I had been trying really hard not to poas, but when I saw that you two had, I couldn't hold out any longer! Guess what - bfn. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh

In other news, my friend had a baby boy this morning and I seem to be fine with it so far. And dd little sod has decorated the radiator with pink nail varnish.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 27/01/2011 22:14

Grin 9 dpo?! Hope you've got a good stock of cheapie peesticks! Fx one of them's a bfp before next week!

Ladybee · 27/01/2011 22:10

wombat fab news.

Sorry ladies...needing some time away at the moment. Stuff going on at home / work / etc is occupying my mind and time. Still clinging on to positivity but I think I need to keep myself in the real world a bit more at the moment. Won't be forever, just reading a few too many - "had heartbeat then it died" messages recently, and need to concentrate on possibility of it working this time.

Good luck for those testing in the next week or so (I'm sure I'll be back after that - can't stay away)

LILI80 · 27/01/2011 21:29

cep I haven't had my AF yet so definitely on the what the fuck cycle! I'm thinking if my AF hasn't arrived in the next 2 weeks I'll take a test then.

Mummyabroad & Emoo Yes took a test on the 9th Jan and it was negative so I guess that means all hormones are gone and I'm good to go!

Thank you to everyone for all the welcoming messages I'm feeling better already! Wishing us all the best of luck :)

CaribouMoo · 27/01/2011 21:21

mouse just wanted to pop by to say I am really sorry to hear your sad news. Its so hard to deal with, especially so soon after your first MC. Your boss is being an absolute tit, suregery aside, losing a baby is not something you just get over in a few days. Take as much time as you need, your GP will support you. Don't give up hope either, I know when it happens again all sorts of thoughts go through your head. I had 2 MMCs within 7 months and now have happily reached 24 weeks - you will get there too. Take care pal.

Womabt that's bloody great news!! We'll keep a spot for you on the grads thread for when you're ready. Go Wombatbean!!

Dachs hope there's no more spotting and you are staying positive.

Happy new thread lassies, hope its a good one with many a BFP for you x

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 27/01/2011 20:55

Hello all!

Welcome to the newbies, sorry for your losses and that you find your way here. Its a lovely reassuring place to be in the circumstances though.

Erm ok trying to remember what's been going on.....

owly what are your pie charts of?? Do tell, you know I'm a big geek too and anything to stop me from being quite so deranged will be gratefully received!

hairy fab news about the BFP! I'd missed that news! What's a vision board? It sounds good-again, anything I can chuck into the Positivity plan will be v helpful!!

Hadrian sorry about BFN, prob worth doing one again with morning wee before holiday, just to be on the safe side

izz good work on booking up the weekly acu appointments. That's what I've been doing and although it burns through the cash I genuinely think it's made a massive difference.

velvet huge hugs hun, I know EXACTLY what you mean. We've got really good mates who we see at least once a week who proudly announced they are now trying for a baby a month ago or so-I had a complete mentalling fit when I got home and DH was cross with me because he said it's not a race and it doesn't actually affect me but for some reason it really got to me. It's like they're so arrogant to assume it's going to go so smoothly and easily they are announcing trying as if they have as good as got a
baby in their arms.... I'm not telling them about the BFP this time-I did before and she told me with great glee about how I had a 1 in 3 chance of it all going horribly wrong-thanks for that, like I needed
reminding...

Has anyone seen Kat?

YRMOTB how are you doing today?

mousey glad today went ok under the circumstances. I'm glad you've got a week off-see how you're doing towards the end of the week and get signed off again if you're not ready to go back.

pooch sorry you've had such a hard time of it. The shift work thing sounds like a heap of extra pressure :(

Collie2 · 27/01/2011 20:42

Pooch Hi, welcome. I'm new too. Sorry to hear about your work. I think stress at work is the last thing you need at this time. I totally understand. I work for a primary care trust and it couldn't be a more turbulant time. I've never seen such an industrial scale reorganisation and its sooo stressful worrying about if i'll have a job, trying to prove my worth and desperately wanting that BFP but wondering what will happen if i do!! Aghhhh Confused

Hairy, seen you in mc threads Sad so glad to hear your fab news and that your doing well Smile

Hadrian sorry for your BFN. Enjoy your holiday though and take the time to relax. Sometimes thats all it takes.

I'm a bit fed up. My dh has been away in the states for 12 days. He's supposed to be back home tomorrow and its sodding snowing in philadelphia and his flight keeps getting delayed. Last time they were out there it took 3 days to get home Sad Stupid weather!!

owlbooty · 27/01/2011 20:12

Dachs I also had the brown spotting - which seems to be far, far more common than I think any of us had realised beforehand. Positive thoughts, my lovely x

Mouse so glad you've got some time off work and also that you've been well treated at the hospital, hope you are feeling much better very soon.

Hairy Great news on the hcg :) I found drawing pie charts helped me be more rational, odd though that may sound :)

Hadrian Am v.jealous of your lovely holiday! Hope you have a fantastic relaxing time with your DH and ENJOY the buckets of whiskey and coke - I had banana pancakes out there and they were v.v.nice

Big hug to BOA

Waves to Mr Wombat Grin hope he realises you don't listen to us lot either? Hehehe.

Pooch28 · 27/01/2011 20:07

Have been reading all the comments and support given and would love to join thread too. TTC # 2, Cycle 3, 3/4 MC (dr's can't decide)UCL 28. As its soooooooooooooo much effort persuading my DH to have sex every couple of days in fertile bit of cycle have resorted to the peeing on a stick route so now he only has to perform twice a month. Got a smiley face this morning and am watching him fall asleep in his favourite pit on the sofa now so the pressure's on to rev him up! Having s..t time at work too, was doing shift work then was put in an office environment after 3rd M/C, found out yesterday they want to send me back to shift work so have been stressing beyond belief about that which is the last thing I need. Don't want to go sick as I'll have too much time to wallow in self-pity at home obsessing about BFP and staying PG.

Velvetcu · 27/01/2011 19:46

mousebacon so glad you are signed off for next week. I'm a teacher too so I know the pressure you are under.

hairy glad to hear you are doing well

mousebacon · 27/01/2011 19:29

HI ladies, first things first, congratulations wombat I'm thrilled for you xx

Today went as well as it could but I didn't get discharged until 4.30pm as my blood pressure was v low. I'm ok now though and have decided to ask the gp to sign me off for at least next week. I got upset as they wheeled me down as I knew it would be the last time I'd be with my baby but the staff at the hospital have all been fab.

Right, DH is making tea and I think I'll have a look online for a summer holiday...

hairyfairylights · 27/01/2011 19:23

Just checking in quickly. Hcg is good and progesterone is good. Am five+6 today, scan next Friday at six weeks. Still taking things a step at a time and am doing a visioning board to stop me from feeling negative.

nickstermum · 27/01/2011 19:21

Dachs i know this wont reassure you in any way whatsoever, but both wombo and I have had brown sludgy stuff and been ok. (and look at what orange has had to endure... it goes to show that you just never ever can tell xxxx (((hugs))) though cos its frightening regardless :(

Wombat33 · 27/01/2011 19:18

Dachs hugs - I know all too well how that worrying feells xxx

Velvet uck - that must have been a bit of a shock. On the 'bright' side - at least you've got some advance warning if she does announce she pg (and there's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be your turn first!) xxx

Hardian noo way am I going to fish slap you when I encouraged you to test. Relax and enjoy your hols!!!

cep · 27/01/2011 19:11

hadrian that's the spirit. Go and relax and enjoy yourself.

dachs brown is old hon, just rest and relax. fx crossed for you.
