cep · 02/02/2011 15:20

just found this which says pomegranate juice also helps sex drive, think i'll start giving it to dh. Grin also good throughout pg so no need to stop. and just saw Collie's post about the 8oz (assuming fluid ozs)

cep · 02/02/2011 15:12

hi all I'm home now.

eggy so sorry for your loss. they are a great group of ladies on here full of great advice and comfort.

aandr glad you had a wonderful time and that you're home safely. (and i would have bee worried if you had been able to keep up while you were away Grin ) oh and i think that woman was awful to try and scare you into buying unknown herbs. It's dispicable that people do that kind of thing.

knitter so sorry for yesterday, i'm glad it was a bit easier than expected though.

mummya thanks for that. Good luck

I've bought some pink grapefruit juice, pomegranate and pineapple juice. All from concentrate. Have had 1/2 tall glass of grapefruit and pineappple. then rewarded myself with choc fudge milkshake. Grin

I've also bought some epo. Let me get it straight. g/f 1 glass day. (does it matter until when??) epo 1 a day until ov. p/apple 1 day till ov. after ov brazil nuts and pomegranate juice.

Does that sound about right??

Ooh someone was talking about temps(sorry can't remember who. is always best to take it before getting up, as a test i did it before getting up and then once i got back to bed after loo and because it was cold, it had dropped almost by a degree by the time i got back to bed. and i wasn't in there that long Grin before anyone asks.

hello to collie chloe nix orange mamap owl yrmotb and everyone else

MummyAbroad · 02/02/2011 14:07

Pink judging by the food posts I see you are suffering from The Hunger Grin hope you can keep it at bay with that pizza and chocolate. By the way its not be getting 4am action thats AandRMum I Welcome back! never thought jetlag could have its good sides go lady!

collie looks like you just ov'd OR this is not your basal (first waking) temperature. Keep your themometer under your pill, its easier to find!

eggy I am so sorry for your loss. Please don?t tell yourself ?there never was a baby? of course there was, from the minute you got a positive pregnancy test you thought that you were going to have a baby, and its a great loss when you find out it that now its not going to happen. Dont underestimate the powerful effect of the pregnancy hormones leaving your system too, they can really shake you up. As the others have said you need to take some time out to grieve, find a safe place and let it all out. Have you seen this site www. Pregnancyloss.info ? it really helped me a lot with questions about physical and emotional recovery. www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm This page might be really relevant to you right now. Have you done a home pregnancy test yet to see if the hormones have all left your system? Its a good idea as it helps you know when your body is starting to get back to a normal cycle again

cep The Great Grapefruit Juice Experiment is using concentrate. I will let you know.

AandRMum · 02/02/2011 13:52

Thanks Knitter

Chloe55 a cp is a chemical pregnancy (I have been here too long and don't even think about all the annoying acronyms anymore!). My af was 5 days late in December (never happens to me) and I had a very faint BFP and then a confirmation on a digi and then my af arrived and was a wretched one. Thanks for the reassurance Owl. I think Pink had one at the same time as me. I know I shouldn't listen but it is hard to shut the voices of doubt in my head!

Collie2 and Chloe55 and all the other newbies, sorry I haven't welcomed you and introduced myself properly - very rude of me . I lost track of the thread whilst away and don't have a hope of properly catching back up. Sorry you are here but I am sure you are being properly looked after by the lovely crowd who hang around in here. My story is I have two dds 4 and 2 and I had a mmc at 12 weeks (bean at 9+4) ERPC and then had the chemical pregnancy in December. I hope your stay here is short!

KnitterNotTwitter · 02/02/2011 13:39

AandR ((hugs)) thought I'd get a pre-emptive hug in for your dd

Hi just wanted to run in quickly and say hi to Knitter and A&R who I've not got to know properly yet.

Knitter glad you got throuugh your due date without too much pain and sadness. I know it was a while ago but i am really sorry for your loss, just reading through old threads and my heart goes out to you.

Right i am in the office today and busily catching up one what i should have done yesterday Grin so best go.......

Chloe55 · 02/02/2011 13:38

What's a CP?

owlbooty · 02/02/2011 13:23

A&R glad you avoided the hurricanes etc :)

I had a CP 2 months before getting this bfp and I think someone else in here MamaP ? has also done something similar. I suspect the herbs are, if you'll pardon my french, a load of expensive Woo which you have done well to avoid Grin .

AandRMum · 02/02/2011 12:26

MamaP dreams are horrible but my Mum always says they mean the opposite - which is comforting for some dreams but to be ignored for others!! My DSis who is into every alternative around spent a while interpreting dreams (she is now into seeing her psychic on a weekly basis) and says that you ignore what happens and look at what you were feeling - not surprisingly you are peeing your pants over your next scan - when is it?! Next week?

Oz was fab - you would never know so many disasters were taking place just moments from where we were. It is bloody expensive though!

I went and saw my DSis's acupuncturist whilst I was there. It was an interesting experience especially as I didn't realise she is a herbalist as well. Her english wasn't brilliant and at the end of the session she hands me some herbs she has been pounding away at for the last hour whilst I was quivering in needles and had no idea what she was up to and tells me I owe her around £150 for them on top of the £90 for the acupuncture - ouch! I declined the herbs as I have no idea what was in them and could you imagine being picked up at customs with them! It was a bit disturbing though as she kept saying that my lining would be severely damaged by my mmc and cp and needed to be repaired. I couldn't work out whether she was specifically talking about my womb or whether it was a general statement regarding anyone who has had a mc. I don't like taking drugs and especially ones I have no idea what is in them but I would like to know whether my lining is in a position to hold a baby. MummyA did your restoration worker give any ideas on what you can do to restore the nutrients in your lining?

My DSis had her little boy whilst we were there and I had very mixed emotions. He is gorgeous and looks a lot like my DDs did when first born and I just wanted to pack him in my bag and take him home with me. I ended up bursting into uncontrollable tears once we were alone - much to my DHs confusion given that I had been so genuinely happy holding him. So see Eggy roller coaster emotions are very normal!! It took me two weeks to stop bleeding after my ERPC and it would come and go in bursts. As others have said, don't try to 'get back to normal' as soon as possible. Give yourself the space to let it all out.

Big hugs Knitter - mine looms soon and I'm not looking forward to it! Hopefully it is a turning point for you as it seems to have been for many of the others on here.

Hi all - glad to be back. Work looms large and must be done and we will have a decision on planning for our house tomorrow night which I am bricking it about. Good for stopping any obsessing over upduffedness or lack there of - pick me Mr Poisson pick me - pleeeeaaaassse. I want to join the cool girls new thread!!!

I second Nix's grapefruit juice comment re snails - dh thinks I am constantly horny!!!

Mamapower · 02/02/2011 11:58

Knitter sorry about the dreaded dd you had to face, oddly I think everyone has had a pre dd melt down that has prevented the actual date being horrific! Big hugs Smile

KnitterNotTwitter · 02/02/2011 11:57

owl and wombat thanks for the hugs - much appreciated

Ooh biscuits. Don't mind if I do!

Big dd hugs to Knitter!

Welcome to eggy I'm sorry you find yourself here and are having such a tough time of it. It does get better, but it's swings and roundabouts for a while as others have said.

Welcome back A&R - looks like perfect timing to be out of Oz - 200 mph winds - eekk!! Hope you had a fab trip x

nickstermum · 02/02/2011 11:01

welcome home lovely hope your jolly was incredible xxx

V.glad your work doctor is so ace, that's really good :)

owlbooty · 02/02/2011 10:51
KnitterNotTwitter · 02/02/2011 10:45

Hey ladies
Just dropping in to say hi... I didn't even lurk yesterday as it was my due date and I needed a day off... I also had the delight of having to see my companies doctor about everything. He turned out to be a sweetheart and has said that I can work mornings only for as long as I want (with the afternoons as paid sick) so that is fab and I feel very lucky.
The due date actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be - maybe because I'd had my wobble 4 weeks ago?

Obviously i'm starting to obsess about what might be going on in the womb department... I'm on day 23 now... so probably about 9dpo assuming I've got a 14 day LP.... I don't feel 'wildly pregnant' like I have some months (and then not been) and I don't feel 'definitely not pregnant' (and also not been pg) So maybe this month is different?

Based on the theory that it's probably another BFN I'v also signed up to FF... now just have to work out how to use it before AF turns up :)

Anyone know if actual grapefruit has the same effect as grapefruit juice? I'm having it for breakfast most mornings at the moment as I'm doing Slimming World (8lb lost in first three weeks whoop whoop). Also I've definitely noticed an improvement in my skin since I've started taking the EPO as suggested by my counsellor.

Eggy - to be honest if you're (like me) the sort of person who is normally very strong and doesn't cry then you may find that this is the trigger for having a good cry about all sorts of things that you didn't know were even still lurking in your brain. Have a big cry and take it easy for a bit.... Work will understand I'm sure.

MummyA sorry about AF turning up, and I'll watch the experiment with interest

Izzy like the pens in the top pocket of your white coat - very geek-chic

AandR welcome back

MammaP bloomin' dreams/nightmares it's just your subconcious messing with you obviously but life would be so much easier if it seemed like your subconsious was actually on your side!

Hi to everyone else and feel free to help yourself to this plate of biscuits - made by my son and surprisingly good :)

hi all just a quicky as u work and sneaking on phone. Sorry if already missed ughs answer. Does it matter if juice is from concentrate? Will catch up with posts when i get home.

Mamapower · 02/02/2011 10:09

Morning all

Hi AR Did you have a fabulous jolly?

Mummy and yrmotb good luck with the grapefruit and all and other tricks you are trying Grin

Izzy velvet we can't wait for you and the whole gang to join us, and I have a feeling in my waters it'll be sooner rather than later GrinGrin

I had a horrid dream last night, I got to my scan and the sac was empty and I'd had a mmc! Totally freaked me out so am on high knicker alert this morn! How ridiculous (like checking me knick's would stop anything bad happening)!

nickstermum · 02/02/2011 09:32

Eggy it takes time to get over it lovely. A blighted ovum is no less a MC than an MMC..it was still your baby, to you. It does hit you like a brick, and will come and go. Give yourself time to grieve and it will get better with time, i promise you that xx

youremindmeofthebabe · 02/02/2011 09:25

collie I think perhaps you need to try before you get up, and as soon as you wake up. The higher temps look in the range of my post-ov temps, but that can vary from person to person, so you may have to wait til a pattern emerges. When AF does turn up, it may be easier to get a pattern knowing where you are in a cycle.

Collie2 · 02/02/2011 09:24

Perfectly put chloe xx

Collie2 · 02/02/2011 09:23

Ohh eggy of course you are not ok and are emotional. Its completely normal. As far as you were concerned you were carrying your baby and for all the weeks you carried for you spent wondering what that baby would be like and how much you'd love it. I think for many of us who miscarry early we are grieving for what we should have had, and thought we were going to have, as well as what we have lost.

As the ladies on here told me just a couple of days ago, let it out and let yourslef grieve.

((Big Hugs))

Chloe55 · 02/02/2011 09:22

What on earth is contrally? I think I am losing the plot Blush

Chloe55 · 02/02/2011 09:21

Eggy - what you are feeling is contrally natural. Everyone of these girls could tell you that at time they thought they were fine then BAM! It hits you like a tonne of bricks Sad A lot of people won't understand what you are a=going through if they have never experienced this. Don't try and downplay what you have been through physically and emotionally, you are allowed to feel the way you do and at throughout the next few days/weeks/months/years you will think you are 'over it' and then you will get upset all over again. We have all been through this. Feel free to pour out your emotions on here, we are good listeners Smile
