A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

For reference here's a link back to the previous thread

Latest stats to follow in a moment!

Thanks ladies the epu checked me all is away saying that they thought it was a blood clot left and it was baby passed her yesterday though so i think i will wait till bleeding stopped and take a pregnancy test to check its negative it took me 2yrs to conceive this time after my DS so doubt it would be too quick anyhow. thanks for all the support i too think its so sad how common m/c is :(

Collie2 · 11/02/2011 12:54

oils i think the guidance to wait until after one period is to make it easier to date your baby. But I suppose its important to be 100% sure everything is 'back to normal' before you do start ttc. Waiting until your next cycle would be the best way to do this, but i know i didn't want to. If you want to ttc before i would say make sure your epu confirms your mc is complete and take a pg test in about a week to check all your pg hormones are gone. (I got that advice of the lovely ladies here)

It is possible to have a healthy pg straight after mc without a period - my friend gave birth last month to healthy baby girl after doing just that.

Take care xxx

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/02/2011 12:47

Hey ladies

Just thought i'd pop in and see how you all are... Sorry to see that there are some new joiners but welcome to Olismum and babypops.

In terms of TTC again I think it's suggested that you finish your MC bleed and then wait for one more period before you start again. I think this is so that you have an idea about when you ovulated for dating purposes and also it gives your womb a chance to heal properly giving any subsequent pregnancy the best chance possible. You'll also find that your hormones are all over the place (or at least I did) and it's really important that you give yourself the time to process what has just happened to you.

All going ok here thanks - 6 week scan to check it's not ectopic is planned for the 22nd of Feb... but it doesn't feel ectopic so i'm not worried about that. More concered about the weeks after that as that's wen my MMC started to struggle and then died :(

Sorry for not namechecking everyone else - hope you're all doing ok though....

I am just taking each day as it comes still bleeding at the moment but it has slowed a bit more like a period sorry if TMI, is it safe to start ttc straight after the bleeding one doc at the hospital said i could try as soon as the bleeding has stopped and another said after the first period, bit confused :/

Ninunina · 11/02/2011 12:42

Collie I'm ignoring the chocolate thing too. I'll switch to milk chocolate since its contains less caffeine Grin

Collie2 · 11/02/2011 12:26

Just had a lurk on the freak out thread and she's had her scan. Looks like orange had good news Smile, although not everyone Sad

Chloe55 · 11/02/2011 12:13

Welcome Olismum Smile

Does anyone know what time Orange's scan was?

Collie2 · 11/02/2011 12:12

Oils so sorry for your loss, tuesday is so very recent so i hope you are ok and are doing nice things for youself to make it as easy as possible. Its a sad and horrible thing to happen, it makes me so sad to think how so many women go through this. Glad you've found your way to this thread though, everyone is amazing and i've had so much support.((Big hugs)) for you.

Ninu WHAT????? No Chocolate??????? Nooooooo who says that????? tcan't be right, it just CAN'T!!!!!! I just don't accept it!!

Ninunina · 11/02/2011 11:52

Hi olismum, I recognise you from the October Pregnancy thread. I'm so sorry you've had to join this thread Sad, but you've done the right thing, everyone is lovely here, and very supportive.

My reaction has been the same as yours- I just want to ttc straight away. I haven't quite decided if I'll wait for my first cycle before trying- but like you, my body has to finish doing its stuff.

Blackkat · 11/02/2011 11:47

Hi olismum, so sorry to hear your news.Sad you must still be in shock, hope you get as much TLC and support as you need in RL. ((hugs))

I've only been here a week but these ladies have really helped me since my m/c in Jan. You will get as much support and advice as you need from here.

You might find the info on these two websites helpful to you, DH, family etc. They have certainly helped some of us.

www.miscarriagesupport.org.nz/
pregnancyloss.info/

There is good advice about TTC again on these sites too.

Thinking of you x

olismum23 · 11/02/2011 11:34

I was wondering if i could join i m/c on tuesday but all i know is i want to ttc straight away(when body is finished doing its stuff) It was my first m/c.

Blackkat · 11/02/2011 11:33

Chloe - just reminding you that I was a total swot with Clomid for five months doing it all by the book etc, and stressing out each month (a bit worse each time) because still getting BFN. The #5 negative (I was 4 days late) made a stain on the wall where I threw it across the room Blush. Think that made DH realise how close I was to loosing the plot.

Needless to say by round 6 when I'd totally given up hope I'd ever be a mum without IVF it worked. Hoping that my give up attitude works now I've got to start all over again. Message = try and relax and look after yourself and forget you are on evil drugs and just enjoy RL.

Sorry if I sounded like Wine fascist earlier on. After 36 months+ of ttc you do anything, even regrettably give up Wine and one day work a week despite losing equiv on mp!!

Methinks i should've been here for support a long time ago.

End of me time sorry ladies.

Hope all well with you all in RL.

Good luck with SS Collie and Mouse hope your week has improved??

Ninunina · 11/02/2011 10:18

There is no way I can give up chocolate!!!!! I only have one or two small blocks a day- but I treasure every last moment that it's in my mouth. I also really enjoy one coffee in the morning when I get into the office. I've already cut down from having 2 or 3 coffees a day & at least 1 cup of tea to 1 coffee, and I occasionally have a cup of tea.

I think I'll cut out Wine completely unless its a special occasion. I found it surprisingly easy to give it up when I was pregnant (albeit only a few weeks), I didn't feel my social life suffered at all. I just kept a drink in my hands at all times, and hardly even noticed it wasn't alcohol. Things get a little uncomfortable when it comes to rounds though- people just don't understand if you're not drinking. We're such a boozy society aren't we?

owlbooty · 11/02/2011 10:04

Hell yes; the odd glass of vino is GOOD for you, I reckon. Otherwise you will quickly go nuts. Grin

MumTumWanted · 11/02/2011 09:57

re the caffine Wine and tea thing, i (reluctantly) conceede that to give your self the best chance is to knock it on the head but we all need a little light relief so i guess save it for when you really need it ! Im a fully paid up member of the diet coke and hot chocolate club and sadly i really dont like to drink other stuff but i am really trying with the water in leiu of diet coke.....

Collie2 · 11/02/2011 09:30

Thanks blackkat that's the article I'd read which made me ask!! You can't do bloody anything! I have plans this weekend which involves wii sing star Grin so I def need Wine for that as I'm tone deaf! Maybe I'll give it a miss for a couple of weekends after that. Don't think I can do that long term if we don't get pg quick though! Smile

chloe god sorry I aged you so much!! How rude!! Smile I did that to my aunt once at her 50th... Wrote happy 60th in her card!!! Lol Grin I'd read caffeine was bad when pg. I've moved to herbals and decaf which is ok but get organic as the chemicals they use in non organic can be more harmful. It's quiet expensive for organic decaf... I paid £2.50 for 40, but I couldn't live without tea!

Chloe55 · 11/02/2011 08:30

Yes Collie you did age me 10 years!Wink

After reading that article about alcohol etc I have just explained to dh the potential dangers of caffeine, he wants me to find a counter argument for caffeine but I can not find anywhere that suggests it's ok in ttc. We always knew it wasn't good in pg. He has agreed to quit and also has agreed to stop drinking Wine (This goes for me too) apart from on special occassions, ie. my 30th birthday Grin Blackkat - you just gave me a kick up the arse really. This will be my 2nd month of Clomid so I need to do everything I can now.

Right Ninu - I will suggest Malta as our next holiday!

Mamapower · 11/02/2011 08:13

Everything in moderation... for you and your dh/dp. I spent 5 cycles ttc; I'd have been locked up if I hadn't had a wee drink every now and then Smile

Blackkat · 10/02/2011 23:38

Just re-read my last post and Blush to see that I sound like a total lush pre TTC.

Didn't drink that much honest, just a couple of light ales officer

Blackkat · 10/02/2011 23:33

Wine, sadly = bad
Read the following
www.marilynglenville.com/infertility.htm

However, I do agree that without Wine it's sometimes bloody hard to cope with RL and pesky TTC.

I didn't drink at all when I was on Clomid and in the 3 months before, consequently lost weight, spent less(!) and got a BFP.

Other good side effects were slept better, could get up earlier, and skin was x100 better.

I'll be knocking it on the head next week again. Mind you I'm a total light weight now anyway (sighs wistfully, remembering pre TTC exciting lifestyle)

Collie2 · 10/02/2011 23:22

I have a ttc and Wine question. I know that Wine (or other such enjoyable beverages Grin ) are best avoided if ttc. I read it can reduce your chances of concieving by half. But giving up the Wine before a bfp really is easier said than done... I need a life!!!

So I guess I just wondered what peoples views on it are? Is it ok maybe to cut out Wine (I love this emoticon) Smile at key times? If so, when are those times? Before ov to ensure eggs are of good solid genes! After ov, so implantation is easier and you don't harm early development? Or both?

I've got a brewery tour planned next weekend with work, just before I expect to ov. Wondering if should not be drinking?!

Collie2 · 10/02/2011 23:13

Hi mummya hope you're ok? Did you manage to get your wedding rings back? What did you do re the cleaner in the end? I think that invasion of privacy and trust is awful.

Collie2 · 10/02/2011 23:11

Hello,

Chloe so pleased AF has turned up and that you are able to relax a little now. The bedroom sounds lovely - can you post px?

Hello to babypops sorry to hear of your loss, lots of good advice and laughs here.

Great diet advice in Marilyn Glenville www.marilynglenville.com/ (less bossy than Zita West!)

Struggling to keep up at the moment, will try harder tomorrow
