Welcome to another thread everybody, George and Jake are standing by to do our bidding and have pina coladas for the waiters and sick buckets for the upduffed!

For anyone who is wondering "what the blazers is a WIIT?", the back story is that we all waited to ttc together for a long time and we are now variously still waiting, actively trying or upduffed.

Hi! It's been quiet in here today :)

wyorkslass of course we remember you :) I also felt quite low for a lot of the first trimester - hormones I think. Or at least, that's what I blamed it on. Plus a bit of anxiety about everything being ok. But I started feeling a lot better around 13 weeks. Hope you start to feel better soon.

mrssatsuma sorry about AF arriving :(

bebe good luck with your chat. It is good for you both to keep talking, even if it takes a while to reach any decisions.

jbells I've put on weight too, so you're not alone! Not sure how much as I daren't weigh myself. Strangely, it's only on my tummy that I've put on weight, everywhere else is the same size, but I now have a bump which is about half flab :)

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

strawberrypie · 27/01/2011 20:27

Good luck with the appointment Bebe and the chat with OH! I hope you get to really talk, especially now your OH has had a chance to think about what he said last time.

I have a confession to make....I did another HPT this afternoon and I think there may have been a very faint line! I wasn't 100% sure but when I showed it to OH he could see the very faint line too (just).

I don't want to get too exited though and will duly test again tomorrow morning.

bebejones · 26/01/2011 20:56

Loving the sperm meets egg plan! Have logged that in 'the vault' for furture reference! :o

Please send me all the positive vibes you can for trying to persaude DH to TTC. He is going to check his diary 2moro to see if he can come with me to the consultant. Then we are going to have a proper chat in the evening! Confused

AmandaCooper · 26/01/2011 20:18

Yes the kitten is lovely and he and DH are besotted with each other. A slight deviation from my original plan, but at least I've still got my figure! Grin

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 26/01/2011 20:16

MrsSatsuma have you tried that Sperm Meets Egg plan?

clicky

It looks a bit hardcore to me, but if you fancy giving it a go in the name of science, we will cheer you on!

100years · 26/01/2011 19:22

WYorks, sorry you have been bad too. Gah, all of this is not good. And of course we remember you.

MrsS, sorry AF got you, fingers crossed for next month.

bebe, I have no idea. :( I wish I could say something better than that for you.

Had a peek in the new waiting to try thread and am pleased to see a whole load of newbies posting in there, I think the 2 threads idea was a fabulous one. Grin

bebejones · 26/01/2011 17:29

What do reckon my chances are of convincing my overworked, underpaid, massively stressed out & very reluctant DH to TTC this month?! I want that EDD. Would mean so much & is almost 'written in the stars'! Hmm

Oh no MrsS :( Don't lose heart it could be your month next month!

WYorks - glad you are feeling better, welcome back :)

MrsSatsuma · 26/01/2011 17:14

I've just realised I posted after only reading down to page 1 - sorry!

MrsSatsuma · 26/01/2011 17:14

Oh nannyl, poor you :( really hope you feel better soon. Is it possible you have a bug as well as morning sickness? Just a thought... in that case it might go off soon.

AF has got me. Very fed up. I end up feeling like I've failed somehow. What do you have to flipping do to make sperm meet egg for goodness' sake???!!!!

WYorksLass · 26/01/2011 16:04

Aha, i've finally found you all. Remember me?!!!

I can totally sympathise with you both nanny and 100. Today is my first day back at work after being signed off for 3 weeks with "morning" (for morning replace with all day and all night) sickness.

Hang in there and it should improve, i've finally started feeling a bit better this week (week 10). I am still being sick every morning but generally feel better after that.

I've also felt very low and almost wished i hadn't got pregnant (although would have been devasted if anything had gone wrong). I was inconsolable for almost 2 hours one night last week. Poor DH didn't know what to do.

I have to say i'm glad i'm not alone in feeling so crap. (not that i'm glad other are feeling bad if you know what i mean). I felt such a failure as no-one i know has been so ill and i felt guilty for being off work.

Anyway, i seem to be rambling a bit, sorry!

I hope you both feel better soon.

100years · 26/01/2011 13:29

Shock horror, I've caught up!!! It's taken me half an hour!!! I really hope I've not missed anyone out.

strawberry how are you doing? Here is hoping for you this month. We all symptom spot, even me, who said I wasn't going to, although the month I said I wasn't going to was the month it happened, and I only noticed a few symptoms!

whyWait hugs for you being 5 months in and still waiting. And a 5 hour interview, bl00dy hell. Hope it all comes OK for you.

astro if you have come along into this thread then cool, feel free to whinge in here about not trying yet.

nanny sounds like we are both doing about the same at the moment. :( I've got my bra extenders in, but I had lost a load of weight before I got pg so most of them are fitting me like they did last summer, so I don't need new bras yet. Hopefully the week off will help you recoup some energy.

bebe sorry about your BT fiasco :( And lovely cake. My sis makes cakes for all sorts of people and loves it. Exciting about your uncle going on the weakest link.

quod I couldn't imagine working 3 jobs at one time :( Hope it all pans out OK for you.

JS you need to prioritise your day better to allow for MN Wink mind you when I am at work I cannot access internet at all.

squirrel Nice work on doing the nursery, and wow on 4 months left at work. We haven't yet discussed on whether we will or won't find out the sex, it's a bit early for us, he doesn't mind what we have, and tbh I think I would like to wait, but I may change my mind.

MrsS Good luck with the CBT. I've had a lot of counselling and it worked really well. I found the first month of trying really hard, and the second month I really tried not to think about it too much.

AC Thanks for starting the thread, I wasn't crying because you didn't put my name in the post, you did in the old thread. Aw bless re the kitten. That's great.

Jbells great you have found a pram

mrswantstobeamum I don't think I was in the thread when you were, but huge well done on the first time upduffing and hope you join us in here again.

Well as for me.
My OH was away the weekend as I was so poorly last week I went to stay with my Mum for the 2 nights, managed to give her toilet a few presents while I was there!!! Was my Nan's birthday on Sat so the family all came round to Mum's so I saw them all and had them all asking me how I was doing and taking the mickey at odd moments. Was great to see my little nieces, they are gorgeous. Some of the foods I thought were safe are no longer safe. I'm still mega dizzy at points and finding doing anything a struggle and feel a bit of a wuss for it.
Had a lot of tears, to the point where I was making a few odd noises when crying yesterday, my poor OH, he has been really really ace, and still smiles even though I am bawling my eyes out. He said the baby is probably the happiest baby in the world as it's stolen all of my happiness! LOL
Didn't feel too sick yesterday, had some tea, but it lasted all of 10 mins, I proper puked my guts up, then again half an hour later, then after the crumble, then again. I had nothing left in me by the time I went to bed. Forced down a biscuit and a half which I kept in me thankfully. I just feel like eating nothing, but I know I need to.
I've lost 13.5lbs in the last 2wks and 2 days since I started puking, so it's no wonder I feel like shite really.
I have nothing else to add at the moment.

JustShaggingForNow · 26/01/2011 13:18

Mmmmmmmmmm Gin & Chocolate!

bebejones · 26/01/2011 13:11

Make mine a large one, AF is here and I feel in need of Gin...and chocolate! Wink

JustShaggingForNow · 26/01/2011 11:52

Wow - I've missed a lot of stuff.

bebejones · 26/01/2011 11:37

Nanny - I feel for you I feely do. I was in exactly your position 3 years ago! (Can't believe it was that long ago Shock) It does pass. What you're doing is the best thing to do. I thought I couldn't possibly be absorbing anything I was being so sick, but my GP & MW assured me that some of it was staying in me as I didn't ever get that badly dehydrated...more through stubborness than anything as they kept threatening me with hospitalisation! Just keep on resting as much as you can. Oh and the one time I got some relief from the constant nausea was sitting in the shower, I used to just sit there for 45mins or more...with the water on obviously! Don't know why, but it was really soothing & definitely helped. Also try those travel sickness bands, they did stop some of the constant sea sick feeling, worth a go if you haven't already!

Strawberry when are you testing again?

The work situation for DH is difficult. It's his dad's company & he will eventually take over, plus alot of it is already in his name. He doesn't really get the choice to leave work at 5 o'clock. He always always has stuff to do on an evening & works alot of the weekend too. They are really struggling & at the moment he is doing the work of about 5 people & it's all stuff that needs his attention full time. Complete nightmare. Just hope that things start to improve soon, coz at this rate he'll have another breakdown & I don't want to see him go through that again!

I'm trying to do as much as I can to help, but I can't do anything I'm not qualified to do! :(

strawberrypie · 26/01/2011 11:19

I feel really sorry for you and 100years nannyl Sad

At least you know it can't last forever (not that it makes it any easier at the moment).

As for "being sick on purpose"! who would choose to feel like you are doing?! I think the gruffalo might have to have a little growl at your OH for that!

Love the kitten AC, very cute name!

When might you be testing mrssatuma? (exiting!)I think I have heard that dry mouth is a PG symptom :)

Squirrel- about the gender thing, I think there has been research to suggest that finding out the baby's sex can help you to bond more before he/she is born.

Hi Bebe, it sounds like you have hit the nail on the head about your DH and his motivations. Is his job worth all this though? Is it an investement in the family business that is going to pay off in the long run?

nannyl · 26/01/2011 09:05

i mean despite being in bed most of the day

nannyl · 26/01/2011 09:04

good morning

sorry im going to moan. Im feeling so so so poorly Sad
yesturday i thought dr was a bit extreme signing me off, but thank god she did, there is no way i could have made it in today.

Was really sick yesturday afternoon / evening and i dont think anything at solid / liquid actually remained in me at all.

despite being in bed most of the night i slept like a log all night, but woke up at 7am and i didnt even need a wee.... not really surprising as id emptied my stomach completley (again) at 11.15 last night.
OH thought i was over reacting /being sick on purpose but i was most certainly not.

i have spent the last 2 hours having the teeny tiniest sips of water, and over the past hour in micro-nibbles have eaten nearly 1/4 of a piece of toast.

still feeling really poorly and not sure if these will remain in me for long.

was supposed to drop my sick note into school today, but not sure ill even have enough energy to make it down stairs.

sorry to rant, i just hate feeling so ill.

100 so sorry you are signed off too. Its horrid isnt it. hope you feel better soon.

bebejones · 26/01/2011 07:45

That is SO cute, really suits him! Such a bundle of cute fluffiness!

DHs dad rang out home phone before 7 this morning. I hate it when he does that as it always wakes me up. Then I led there panicking that DH had forgotten to put the recycling out & they come really early. So threw a cardi on, raced downstairs & he has already done it!

I've had a bit of an epiphany (sp?) re DH. I definitely think it's a phsycological issue about not wanting to TTC. Stress is a factor but just seeing what his workload is like yesterday & how it is increasing, I can totally see why he doesn't want to 'add to it' with a baby. Trouble is, there is no end in sight on that front. :( I don't think he feels like he spends enough time with DD as it is, would be worse for him with 2 kids that he hardly sees. But I still have the issue of my health, & I can't wait for ever. I'm not asking for the 5 kids he wanted, just 2! Really need to tackle this, just not sure how!

Sorry that Nannyl & 100 have been signed off sick. I was signed off from 7 weeks to 16 weeks PG. Then went back for a week, then got signed off for 3 more weeks! Was miserable & I was bored sh*tless! Hope you feel better after some r&r & that you both manage to eat what you fancy when you can

Squirrel - I think you're right when you say you both have to know the same thing. I wouldn't have been able to keep it from DH, it would have come out somehow, even accidentally. I know people think it ruins the surprise, but it's still a surprise finding out at the scan (and they aren't always right, hence why we bought nothing pink...just in case). I think you probably both need to think about why it's important for you to find out/keep it a secret. My DH said it was my decision (although he didn't really want to know) & I needed to know to help me prepare. Think the tides are turning a bit on this, more and more people we know are keeping the gender a surprise. Maybe you could find out just for yourselves & not tell anyone else, although you run the risk of it slipping out!

Right, need to energise myself, nice bowl of porrige I think! :) Hope everyone has a lovely day, I'm off to toddlers with DD! Yay Hmm

AmandaCooper · 25/01/2011 22:53

Bebe his name is Harvey, but we've just called him little catty so far - you can tell we don't have children!

OP posts:
bebejones · 25/01/2011 22:29

I am exhausted, really busy day. I'm sorry in advance for the lack of personals, I'm super tired & my head hurts!

AC thanks for the shiney new thread, will pop over to the waiting one & set up camp for the forseeable!
Your kitten is adorable, does he have a name?

Sorry people are feeling poorly! :(

Mrs - How was CBT?

The Gruffalo can have a snarl at my DH & a nice evening snack of my ginger cat who has been very spiteful, jealous & naughty this evening!

AmandaCooper · 25/01/2011 22:03

I can't take credit for that, MrsSatsuma, the thread title was 100years' idea.

Just kicked off the other waiting to ttc thread, which is odd. I have to remind myself there is no Jake or George or Gruffalo or calorie free cakes, and that it's not a train!

Also I found it hard to explain why we're still waiting. tbh I'm not entirely sure why we are!

OP posts:
squirrel007 · 25/01/2011 22:02

jbells I'd definitely look, and then wouldn't be able to keep the secret! I think we both have to know, or neither.

100years I hope you start to feel better soon too :(

Amanda the kitten looks very cute :) And obviously knows where to sit to get the most attention!

MrsSatsuma · 25/01/2011 21:35

Our poor ill fellow passengers! Really hope it passes soon. Just keep going and think how amazing it'll be at the end of it all :)

AC how exciting about the kitten! That's a lovely idea.

I also like the name - it's very WIITty!!! (groan...) :o
