Welcome to another thread everybody, George and Jake are standing by to do our bidding and have pina coladas for the waiters and sick buckets for the upduffed!

For anyone who is wondering "what the blazers is a WIIT?", the back story is that we all waited to ttc together for a long time and we are now variously still waiting, actively trying or upduffed.

Old thread here"

I agree with MrsSatsuma. If it goes into pregnancy we'd be likely to get new people trying to join in, which I don't oppose per se, but if those people are all pregnant it will change the dynamic.

I have just asked Jake and George to disentangle the Gruffalo from the curtains and bring him here (don't worry they are wearing Kevlar body armour).

DH and I last night were chatting about the kitten, which is visibly bigger and stronger by the day. DH was waxing lyrical about the pleasures of watching something grow and develop as you nurture it. He said maybe we should produce our own. I said "do you mean we should breed from him and raise another kitten somewhere down the line?" and DH said "no silly I mean we should have a baby."

Well of course I was delighted and embraced him effusively. "When should we try then?"

"Oh you thought I meant now? I don't mean now! I meant at some point in the future."

Sorry WhyWait. That stinks for you :( If it's any consolation, one of my friends got turned down from about three primary courses but did find one she was happy with and is now in her second year, so don't be downhearted!

WYorksLass Great news! :)

How about putting the thread in 'other subjects' in 'other stuff'? There are a couple of others that have moved there after moving from another area to Chat, then being deleted from Chat after the time period was up. Please don't put it in Pregnancy because we're sadly not all yet!!

mrswantstobeamum · 02/02/2011 14:43

Hi all, not much to report here other than my impatient countdown until our 20-week scan tomorrow morning. I really, really hope the baby cooperates as we would love to find out the gender!

I agree that it would be a good idea to move this thread...maybe to pregnancy? Wherever it goes, though, there will be sensitivity issues as everyone is in a different situation. I even had to avoid my antenatal thread for a couple of months until I was past the 12-week point as there were some really devastating MCs in my group. I really felt for them, but dwelling on it was making me unnecessarily anxious about my own pregnancy.

Strawberry, congrats on your doubly good news! I was definitely showing by 16 weeks, but it could have been mistaken for putting on a bit of weight rather than a pregnancy (not necessarily something you want people thinking at your wedding either)! But everyone is different. An empire waist dress might make it easier, but be careful buying too far in advance because you are likely going to need a bigger size up top very soon.

WhyWait, sorry about your course Sad

WYorksLass, congrats on a healthy and active bean!

WYorksLass · 02/02/2011 12:34

Morning all, i come bearing good news :-)

I've had the scan and we saw our baby bouncing around in there Grin. Eveything is fine apparently, they couldn't find anything to explain the bleeding. Also i am 10+6 not the 10+1 we thought. Junior is now due on 25th August.

Strawberry, how exciting!!!

WhyWait, i'm so sorry to hear your news. Sending hugs (((((()))))))

bebejones · 02/02/2011 11:30

Can't find anywhere.....maybe chat would be best? Hmm

bebejones · 02/02/2011 11:24

If we put it in chat it'll get deleted after so many days...possibly not a good move! Confused Agree it should be moved...I'll have a hunt & seek out some possible new 'destinations' for the train! :o

100 - sorry you are still feeling rubbish. How long til you get to 12 weeks?

AmandaCooper · 02/02/2011 08:41

Where should it move to then? Is Chat the best place?

squirrel007 · 02/02/2011 08:26

Hi 100years I did the same thing and took a break as was really anxious - a lot of the threads on here didn't do much to calm me! Hope you find a way to feel better :)

Amanda sounds a good idea to move this thread :)

AmandaCooper · 02/02/2011 08:18

Hey 100years good to hear from you. It does sound like it's an agonising wait for the 12 week point. Maybe this thread isn't in the right place anymore. Maybe we should start it in Chat or something, it would be more sensitive to the other people in Conception as well.

Sorry to hear you're another victim of the dreaded morning sickness. As you say it's supposedly a good sign. You must feel terrible after a few weeks of it though.

100years · 02/02/2011 07:50

Hiya Ladies,

I'm still around, just taking a little break from being on here so often, bit of a brain fart over what stage I'm at and desperately wanting to get to 12 weeks and know everything is OK, plus I keep seeing on other threads about MMCs and stuff like that and I don't like it. I'm still puking, went back to work yesterday and am now feeling proper ick again, having brought up the 2 biscuits I ate when I was still in bed, and dreading eating anything else, so I'm taking those signs as good, but it doesn't make it easier to wait.

Woohoo for Strawberry, I must admit to thinking you must have been when you got the faint line and was so pleased to see a proper BFP for you. Good luck with the planning.

Sorry WhyWait :( Had a work related let down last year and had a cry over it, I hope you get sorted for something else.

As for everyone else, sorry I'm not doing a big catch up, but I'm thinking of you all, and when I've got over myself and stopped freaking out about the stage I'm at I will be back.

AmandaCooper · 01/02/2011 23:46

None for Strawberry though, if she's going to have any chance of hiding her bump at 16 weeks pg!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 01/02/2011 23:44

Whywait I know the feeling. I just sat and cried when I found out I didn't get that job. It's horribly disappointing, isn't it? You're having a bit of a tough time at the moment. George! Jake! A kilo of finest chocolate please!

OP posts:
squirrel007 · 01/02/2011 22:06

Oh I'm sorry whywait :( Sounds like you've been having a rough time lately - hope you get some time to relax and treat yourself.

strawberry I did feel the same way about marriage, but I have since decided not to care about all the patriarchical stuff. At 16 weeks you should definitely notice a rounder tummy, but it probably won't be obvious to other people. Partly it depends on whether you put on weight in the first trimester.

bebejones · 01/02/2011 21:52

WW - Are you planning to try somewhere else?

Strawberry - How exciting! Eeek! As for how big you'll be...it's anyone's guess! I was hardly showing, but I was bigger beforehand anyway. Friends/family knew coz it was impossible to hide how sick I was! Possibly best to go for an empire line dress! Wink

strawberrypie · 01/02/2011 21:51

Ps I x-posted Whywait, sorry, I didn't mean to go on about stupid wedding when you are feeling fed up x

strawberrypie · 01/02/2011 21:49

Oh no I am sorry Whywait :(

I'm really gutted for you. Who knows what good things are going to happen in the next few months, though. You do deserve some good fortune

strawberrypie · 01/02/2011 21:42

I am exited though, I hope we can plan everything in time! We also thought it would be nice to tell everyone about the pregnancy at the party (all being well).

I know lots of you have told people much earlier than that but I want to try to leave it as long as possible if I can. How big are you at 16 weeks?

Thanks guys!

There wasn't really a proposal, more of a discussion about whether to get married before or after the baby (hopefully) arrives. We decided on before so are thinking of the Thurday before the Royal Wedding. I will be about 16 weeks.

I must admit marriage has never been a big deal for me partly because my inner feminist rebels against the patriarcal traditions involved but we are going to do it our way :)

squirrel007 · 01/02/2011 18:20

Congratulations again strawberry Grin Tell us more about the proposal, and your wedding plans!

jbells hope you have got over your bug now, it doesn't sound like fun :(

bebe that's annoying about the nurses not picking up the symptoms. Hope you can talk to the consultant about it at your next appointment though and get some help.

mrssatsuma I hope the diazepam helps too :) I know the feeling that you're just waiting for life to happen, but is there any way you can talk to work and try and make things a bit better now? Are you hoping to go part-time once you're pg, or after baby is here?

Things are good here, not too much going on though! I have a 4 day week this week, so am half-way through now Grin

bebejones · 01/02/2011 18:02

Ooooh Strawberry! How exciting! When's the big day? Before you start showing? I love a wedding! :o

MrsS - fingers crossed the diazepam helps. Can't hurt to give it a go.

MrsSatsuma · 01/02/2011 17:39

Good grief, you don't like to do things be halves do you strawberry?! Congratulations!!
