Hello,

So, I've been TTC on and off for TWO BLOODY YEARS!!!!! And am going to the doctors next week. However, I am the eternal optimist and will be SWI like the best of them for the next few weeks before I start symptom spotting again. Grin

Come and join me and lets see who gets lucky this month!

(But pretty please let me be one. I mean, I am starting the thread, those are the rules aren't they?

lol,i think im past anything obsession-inducing,im bitten and infected for sure!no im not charting, ive never looked at that, what does it entail? i do keep a diary of my cycle,is that it? i did continue using the opk's until day 13,just bcos i was so shocked at a positive result for the 1st time in 4 mths of using them, that i just couldnt believe it..i didnt get another +ve,so stopped and saved the rest for nxt cycle.

it concerns me that nobody else seems to ovulate so early :-S....im starting to think it was a false positive and ive wasted a mth as i only tried day 8 and 9 :-(...i will be testing tomorrow but im not hopeful, but yet i am late...

LoveInAColdClimate · 16/02/2011 19:51

Are you charting as well as using OPks, dollysgirl? That might help you get a clearer picture of what's going on with your cycles? If you're not already charting, Fertilty Friend is a great resource - it is quite obsession-inducing, though! I find myself staring at my chart as if that might change it Hmm.

hello all!! im new to this but ive been reading for a few days...af is due 2moz-17th feb,at very latest (my cycle is irregular 22-28 days)so its day 28 tomorrow,i have had a lot if af type pain for a week now,but nothing...i now feel extremely bloated and sure im going to start-tho ive felt like that for 6 days!!! the thing that pushed me to join in is that it alarms me that most of you lovely peeps ovulate days 14-18,it seems the norm ?? opk's tell me i ovulate day 8??? ive been trying for no.2 for 12 mths now, after waiting 9mths post depo injection to have a cycle again, ive just had day 3/day 21 bloods done so waiting for results...have used opk's for 4 mths but its only this month ive had a positive, due to (i think?!?) starting using them too late-day 11,as it says on the pack...so i went by my smallest cycle lately (25days) and started testing cd 8,and got my very 1st +ve ovulation test...now im thinking i cant ovulate day 8,as ive failed to find anyone on MN who talks of earlier than day 12 ovulation..help!! xxx

babybythesea · 16/02/2011 18:50

Kitty and Grottie - congrats for you both too. Wonderful news.

I had been hoping that the BFN was due to testing too early but the sore boobs have vanished (not the boobs, just the tenderness) and I think AF may be about to descend for a visit. Oh well. Here's to November babies.... and more hope.

babybythesea · 16/02/2011 18:47

Loads of congrats, bumps. Great news. Hope it all goes well from here.

grottielottie · 16/02/2011 15:09

Thanks bumps that's what I was thinking too (but reassuring to be advised the same thing) have had the folic acid on the go for a while as well.

Bumpsadaisie · 16/02/2011 13:45

Grottie

If I were you I would phone your UK GP just to get your 12 week scan/nuchal scan (if available) set up - I think we are due that in the first/second week of April. Otherwise you might come back in April and find you have a wait on your hands.

Otherwise you apart from folic acid don't think you need to do much.

Bumps x

grottielottie · 16/02/2011 13:40

22nd of October (if all goes to plan). I feel really happy but almost like in need to keep it in check as it's so early. I'm out of the UK until the beginning of too April so I'm also pondering how and what sort of medical checks I will need to sort here with my very poor French.

iwilldothis · 16/02/2011 13:28

Congrats to the new BFPs!! bumpsadaisie you have the same due date as me then and knitty you're not too far behind...grottie, what's your date?

Really sorry for all those with AF/BFNs or those of you still waiting....hoping you all get lucky soon...

boobellina · 16/02/2011 11:59

Congratulations bumpsadaisie knittymum and Grottielottie

Despite my promises that I wasn't going to test again till the weekend I pissed on a fiver again this morning and despite completely dismantling the stick not even a faint line so BFN.

AF due tomorrow and am normally regular as clockwork so not feeling too hopeful but still have no pre-menstrual type feelings and lots of CM - sorry if you thought that was tmi I'm going to get worse. I thought last night that I was getting cramps but judging by this mornings laughter from DD and DH t'was probably trapped wind. Very unusual for me and have decided that IB (imaginary baby) is very pumpy and I can't be held responsible.

knittymum · 16/02/2011 10:17

Thank you all! I'm not quite believing it yet, and so will probably hold off from phoning the doctor for a day or two. Oh, and jaffa oranges have no seeds - that's the reference! I only know when someone told my DH 'congrats on not being a jaffa' when he announced that I was expecting my first!

twolittlemonkeys · 16/02/2011 10:13

Bumps, Grottie and Knitty congratulations on your BFPs! How exciting

I had another BFN this morning and am getting rather annoyed that AF still hasn't reared her ugly head. Tempted to take some Provera to get AF here quicker (I have loads of it as have had to use it to bring on a bleed so I could start Clomid)

Bumpsadaisie · 16/02/2011 09:46

Big congrats to Knitty and Grottie! Great news.

My due date is apparently Oct 20th. DD will be 2yrs 5 months ... gulp! I suppose I ought to phone doctor and get myself in the system. Oo-er.

Best of luck to everyone else and really really really hope that this month, or at least next month, is your month.

And fingers, legs and everything crossed tight as tight can be for everyone testing in the next few days.

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 09:36

yey for knitty and grottie I'm so pleased for you! Don't worry about wine and ibruprofen - the bean won't be sharing your blood supply yet so it's pretty immune to little things like that!

oh and knitty I know lots of fab people with an Oct 26 birthday so if the bub arrives on time he/she will be in great company!

and katy, lol @ the jaffa orange (no idea what he means though!) and it sounds like a good call to start speaking to the GP. Fx that the whole 'finally made an appointment and then conceived immediately' thing happens for you!

No sign of AF for me yet but I'm thinking it might be on the way because CM is disappearing that's how it works. On CD 26 now, tested CD 24 and BFN. Last cycle was 25 days. If AF doesn't appear by Friday I'll be testing again, but I'm sorely tempted to try tomorrow morning. I think I should just be patient and wait!

knittymum · 16/02/2011 09:12

grottie congratulations! I'm sure it'll be fine - think of all the people who get totally hammered and then feed themselves aspirin and ibuprofen to recover from the hangover before they discover that they're pregnant!

grottielottie · 16/02/2011 08:56

Thank love and also congrats to all the other BFPs this month.

LoveInAColdClimate · 16/02/2011 08:53

Yay, congratations knitty and grottie! Fab news. grottie - don't worry about wine and ibruprofen, will be fine. Congratulations!

knittymum · 16/02/2011 08:31

Congratulations Bumps! Wonderful news -what's your due date?

I'm sorry to hear about all the BFNs and AFs. Here's hoping you're all destined to have November babies!

As for me, well, my line got darker and so this morning DH was forced to admit he could actually see it now, and confirmed that my BFP isn't imaginary Grin! Due October 26, and I get all cold and shaky every time I think about it. But in a good way! Although, along with Bumps I need to get through the first few weeks yet before I start letting myself be properly happy about it.

grottielottie · 16/02/2011 08:29

Ok after saying I wouldn't be testing as I was sure I was getting AF a week ago. As nothing had appeared I took a test (not hopeful) but just to confirm I wasn't.

Well I got a BFP! Now freaking out as I have drunk wine this week and taken 2 ibuprofen (a week ago). Also I had a hot water bottle on my tummy to alleviate what I was sure were period pains. Please someone reasure me.

KatyCustard · 15/02/2011 22:32

Yay bumps !!!! Such good news, very pleased for you! Grin Grin

Thanks guys for cheering me up! ghost the chocolate was delicious! I had a good conversation tonight with DH as he told me he's happy to start seeking proffesional help now, because, in his own words "I may be a Jaffa Orange" ?!?!?!?!

I think I know what he meant!

Got horrible backache so I know that means AF is imminent, but on the positive side, she's bang on time! xxx

LoveInAColdClimate · 15/02/2011 21:35

Congrats bumps! Lovely news Smile. If it helps at all re the G&Ts, if by some miracle it's my month as well this cycle I might well be giving birth to a wine bag... Really pleased for you!

Sorry to hear about the BFNs elsewhere... but next month is a whole other chance for us all. Already looking forward to the March thread.

Where has knitty gone? Hope she has some good news for us too...

ghosteditor · 15/02/2011 21:21

bumps I'm so pleased for you! congrats!!

Bumpsadaisie · 15/02/2011 21:07

Very sorry for those who are feeling down because AF has arrived or who are still stuck in limbo. Sad I hope good news comes soon.

At the risk of being totally insensitive I am thrilled as I got a BFP today - clearblue digi says 2-3 weeks (FF says am 16DPO today). I didn't test till 7pm (having sent DH to Tescos on his way home!) but just felt very pregnant all day today - waves of nausea and rusty metal taste and had to lie down for an hour this morning.

So absolute joy and gratefulness Grin combined with Shock at how unbelievably lucky we've been combined with anxiety about whether we will make it to the 12 weeks scan, whether everything will be OK then, whether the 12-16 week tests will be OK, whether the 20 week scan will be OK and whether the baby will still be alive and healthy at 40 weeks and how painful the birth might be Confused. Also worry that I am going to be really sick like last time round, how on earth I will cope with pregnancy with toddler, and then once the baby is born how I will cope with a newborn and a 2.5 year old!

Right, now get a grip and shut up woman. Cracks open glass of appletise (and worries about the G&T she's had every night for the last two weeks ...)

Thanks to everyone for your support and crossing anything and everything that you all get good news soon xx Bumps

lucylookout · 15/02/2011 18:52

monkeys I use ov sticks and they were handy for me to relearn my cycles after mc. I bought cheapies off amazon but hradly ever got positives. Now use clear blue which are much more expensive, so have to use sparingly but work for me.
Sorry to hear you're feeling blue Katy. hopefully it's not too late for bfp but if af does arrive, and if you have been ttc for 2 years, i really recommend you go to drs for a few tests. It might just reassure you or, if there is a problem you cN have help.
AF kind of arrived today, although tbh it's a very irritating one. 4 days of spotting, then red blood today (sorry tmi) but still not proper flow. Wish it would just get going properly, so it could end again and I could start swi again! God, it's exhausting.

ghosteditor · 15/02/2011 16:21

thanks for all the good wishes from everyone! I'm afraid I have no advice about OV sticks, since I'm avoiding them like the plague not quite there yet.

katycustard, if this wasn't mumsnet, I'd give you a virtual hug. How about some chocolate cake instead? [proffers] Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

knitty, we're looking to you for the good news here... fx
