Hello,

So, I've been TTC on and off for TWO BLOODY YEARS!!!!! And am going to the doctors next week. However, I am the eternal optimist and will be SWI like the best of them for the next few weeks before I start symptom spotting again. Grin

Come and join me and lets see who gets lucky this month!

(But pretty please let me be one. I mean, I am starting the thread, those are the rules aren't they?

oh iwilldothis , so pleased for you! yey for the BFP! Don't worry about the facial or the raw egg, if you didn't get ill at the time then it's absolutely fine! and only a teeny risk in any case.

about the hunger thing - does it count if I ate a leftover slice of pizza (purchased in extreme flu-based misery, abandoned due to flu-base vomiting) while actually standing in front of the hob cooking yesterday? Grin So I might be greedy pregnant?

Oh not kale too?! I read on here the other day that peas may have contraceptive qualities. WTF? PEAS ?? [wails] I love peas!!! Needless to say I have not yet reduced my intake of the small, verdant and spherical legume which we know as the humble pea.

Oh, rubbish, still eight days until AF is due...

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 16:13

A line is a line! Well done, iwilldothis - you've done it Grin.

iwilldothis · 08/02/2011 16:09

bbm accroding to the online due date calculators i'm due 20th Oct. Still hasn't sunk in yet...in my mind it's not really a BFP, just a LFP (little faint positive:) )....the line was so faint and AF isn't even due til tomo.... Blush

lucylookout · 08/02/2011 14:25

Phew liacc it's already a ttc minefield out there, without having to throw kale into the mix too!
monkeys I admire your control! How long are your cycles usually?

twolittlemonkeys · 08/02/2011 14:20

Iwilldothis - great news! Congratulations! Despite being completely OTT when ttc previously I hadn't realised hunger could be a symptom - I've been ravenous the past few days. Am starting to run through a mental list of possible symptoms I have Grin tender boobs, CD29 and no AF (not at all unusual for me though, hence waiting til weekend to test), absolutely exhausted, felt nauseous last night.... Hmm. I will need to sit on my hands for the next few days to prevent myself from reaching for the HPTs

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 14:14

have just Googled my kale fact and think DH may be wrong. Your vegetable boxes are safe, ladies.

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 13:55

Hope Thursday goes well, lucy.

DH informed me this morning that eating kale can lower your oestrogen levels - but surely this can't make enough difference to affect fertility or it would come with warnings?! Our vegetable boxes recently have been stuffed with kale so have had loads - hope there is no truth in this!

lucylookout · 08/02/2011 13:51

I'll wait until due date although tbh have zero symptoms and I normally start spotting a few days before AF so get a bit of warning and haven't actually tested at all for the last few months. I have another appt with my fertility specialist on Thurs (day 20 of cycle) to make sure my body's doing what it should do at this stage of my cycle. I have a theory that post mc my progesterone is low, but that's my google-addict diagnosis and not actually based on any real medical knowledge! Hmm

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 13:46

AF is due on 16th so will hold off til then I think (or snap and do it tomorrow Grin). How about others?

busyboysmum · 08/02/2011 13:44

ooooh congratulations Iwilldothis how exciting - what will your due date be?

MrsHende I have a metallic taste too and butterflies in my tummy because I can't bear the waiting!

How any more can we get on this thread? What date is everyone testing?

Smile
LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 13:22

Oooooh, thanks, iwilldothis, I hadn't even thought about hunger being a symptom but I have been starving... But pretty sure haven't ovulated this month as temperature went up very promisingly for two days at the right time then dropped right back down again and has stayed down (only recently had Implanon out and waiting for things to settle down).

V exciting re metallic taste, MrsHende!

MrsHende · 08/02/2011 13:09

What great news iwilldothis - you have indeed done it! Congratulations!

I think this is a good omen for the rest of us!

I just came on to say that I have a metallic taste in my mouth!!!!! I'm so excited, yet I know I shouldn't be. DH is worried that I'm getting my hopes up so I just casually mentioned it (knowing that he wouldn't know it was a symptom) but can't tell anyone else because they'll realise what I'm thinking!

So excited

iwilldothis · 08/02/2011 12:55

Thanks, ladies... dunno how many dpo I am as I wasn't charting, but AF was due tomorrow Blush.... my HPTs I ordered in the post arrived this morning, so it was just too tempting to test early. My symptoms were hunger...I was eating dinner and then raiding the fridge before bed and eating leftovers, which is not like me at all. And sore boobs, but I didn't think much of that because I got that last month also.... so LIACC.... things are looking good for you if it's unusual for you to be so hungry....

lucylookout · 08/02/2011 12:45

Congratulations Iwilldothis that is wonderful news! Let's hope you have an easy and uneventful 9 months of pregnancy!
And here's hoping this is the first of many more BFPs on this thread Smile

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 12:44

OMG iwilldo this - just saw your post after posting mine!!! Huge congratulations! The egg and peel will be fine, please don't worry. How exciting! How many DPO are you? Congratulations!!!!!!!

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 12:42

Definitely feeling tired and sick - rather than the fact that I was at work by 7 this morning and have just eaten a huge piece of banana bread in about 2 seconds, it must be the miracle-no-ovulation-required baby I am obviously brewing making its presence known Grin. Imaginary Baby is not only miraculous but also unusually advanced Grin.

iwilldothis · 08/02/2011 12:40

HI all, sorry I've been so busy in RL that I haven't had time to post.... well this morning I POAS and guess what?? BFP! It hasn't sunken in yet, I'm still in shock. Ate chocolate mousse (ie. pure raw egg) yesterday and went to the spa on Saturday and got a glycolic acid peel facial.... Confused so a tad worried now.... so tlm def. test before you go.
ANyway, hope this will kick-start a whole big string of BFPs on this thread!

twolittlemonkeys · 07/02/2011 16:28

good point LIACC, will test Sat morning in that case!

busyboysmum · 07/02/2011 16:25

I'll drink (herbal tea) to that!

Wink
knittymum · 07/02/2011 16:19

Ghost I've got a 10 or 11 day wait, which seems like an age! twolittlemonkeys Maybe being more relaxed will work in your favour? Good luck for testing anyway, and enjoy the spa!q2011, I'm sorry to hear that, it must have been horrible. Here's to a BFP each this month (let's set some sort of a record!) and lots of healthy end of October babies!

busyboysmum · 07/02/2011 16:18

Hi twolittlemonkeys so sorry to hear about your mc - I had the same thing happen before my first ds and at one point I did despair of ever getting pregnant as lots of early mcs followed. However I now have two healthy little boys aged 6 and 8 (9 very soon)

I would test if I were you before you go on the spa appointment just so you know one way or the other - good luck x

lucylookout · 07/02/2011 16:04

Hello monkeys, sorry to hear of your mc last year. A few of us on here have had one or more and it is a tough thing to recover from (I don't think you do recover actually, but things become more manageable and less raw, don't they). It's good that you're feeling calm. Not long to go with testing for you. Is that when af is due or 4 days before? Either way I agree with loveinacoldclimate, test before. You don't want to spend your time at the spa wondering and worrying. Lucky you, I feel in need of a spa day too. Maybe I can make some hints about a valentine's gift Wink

LoveInAColdClimate · 07/02/2011 15:02

twolittlemonkeys - sorry, pressed send too soon! Meant to expand and say if BFP then you can ask them what oils etc are safe to use and can avoid any hot treatments, but if BFN then you can cheer yourself up with lots of lovely oils and steam etc! First post sounded a bit as if I was assuming would be BFN which I wasn't - sorry!

LoveInAColdClimate · 07/02/2011 14:57

twolittlemonkeys - very sorry to hear about your MC. Perhaps you should test before spa so you don't need to worry about what aromtherapy oils they're using or whether you can use the sauna/hot tub? Good luck!

twolittlemonkeys · 07/02/2011 14:46

Can I join? Have 2 DS, almost 5 and 3. DS1 Clomid baby. I have PCO and am on 100mg Clomid. Around this time last year I conceived on 50mg Clomid but MCd in May then subsequently 50mg didn't work so am on my 2nd cycle of 100. Will hopefully be testing on Saturday or Sunday. I'm obsessing less than I did about ttc prior to the MC, can't put my finger on why, possibly as a defence mechanism (for 6 mths afterwards I decided I didn't want another as couldn't cope with the loss) but am ttc cautiously now. I have a stack of HPTs bought in bulk on Ebay ready for my weekend testing. Also have a spa appointment booked on Sat afternoon with my SIL so can't decide whether I should wait til after to test or do it before so that if it's negative I can console myself with a massage and facial....!
