Evening:)

essence thank you for that - definitely think I ovd yesterday as the stick had 2 really faint lines this morning so think my LH was fast disapearing!

tory Grin

MRSA - you sound down - you ok? x

mrsp - I know how you feel with knackered brain

terrys could you please try your hardest to pop an egg tomorrow - I would like a 2ww buddy!

Really don't think I will be pg this month- just not hitting the ov dates but we will see. Big wave to everyone else xx

MrsP81 · 09/02/2011 19:01

Hello all

I have been so busy at work and I'm so tired that my brain just won't think straight tonight! So I will just give you all a big wave if you don't mind. Grin

Although I will say congratulations to tory because it sounds like you've done it, yay!

I am 8dpo and have got sore boobs. From the charting I have done I know that sore boobs seem to coincide with charts that look as if they're going to result in a BFP but then never do. So I have mixed feelings about the sore boobs this month, only time will tell I guess!

Sorry for grumpy post. X

TerrysNo2 · 09/02/2011 18:56

OPK wasn't positive but there was a quite dark line, last month I OV-ed on day of +ve OPK so could still be tomorrow but I will be a bit disheartened if I don't get one tomorrow!

Happy evening all. :)

weimy · 09/02/2011 16:24

Yay tory !

Terrys I am away Sat till mon, so should be able to SWI sat am and mon pm Hmm

I think I may have ov'd but really not sure. CD 13 today, on day 10 and 11 I got very faint extra lines on the opk I have recorded them as positive on FF. Today I got a really big temp decrease.

FX Doris I am 35 too and am very twitchy,:(

Thanks essence xxx

Truffkin · 09/02/2011 15:48

Agree with the other wise ladies Doris it aint over til the red lady whines!

I'm only 32 (not often I get to say that!) but shall be trotting off to see our GP if we get no win this month. Heading into cycle 9 (unfortunately mired by early experience of long cycles before last summer they settled into more manageable timescales!) and having got pregnant before (previous partner, neither went to term but I know I can do it IYSWIM) I would prefer to see if we can get some test done sooner rather than later, that way if we know there is a problem, we can decide what to do about it.

Depending on how this month goes, we could all be making our appointments around the same time. Either that or managing nicely ironic pre-intervention baby wins Grin

Karbea · 09/02/2011 15:23

aunty you don't know yet, so wait and see...

I'm 37 and we've said we will talk to a doc after 6 months, can't believe this is cycle 3 already!

digitalgirl · 09/02/2011 15:09

Hooray! Congratulations tory Smile

essenceofSES · 09/02/2011 15:08

Tory - that sounds great!! Congratulations Grin Grin Grin

Terrys - hope ovulation timing works :)

AuntieDoris - don't worry too much about the age thing. I was 36 when I had DS and will be 38 next month and still hoping! You never can tell so I'll still keep my fingers crossed for the remainder of your 2ww....

truffkin - fingers crossed for you too!

I'm in the kitchen at the moment with DS. Made the mad decision to get the crayons and glitter pens out. I now have green and red glitter all over my kitchen Hmm

AuntieDoris · 09/02/2011 14:58

Bollocks. I am pretty sure I am not going to be pregnant this month. I feel no different to usual. About a week of AF but you know when you just know it in your knower?!!

Particularly disappointing as I had decided this would be my last month before seeing the GP to see if they will run tests. I know I have only been trying 6 months but I am a bit twitchy as I am 35.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 09/02/2011 14:48

katee I think sore boobs are the main symptom in the early days of pg. Mine certainly were with DD, so I wouldn't worry too much about not feeling sick (though being off tea is also a classic, also metallic taste in the mouth).

I was incredibly lucky with DD and only had a week or so of feeling mildly queasy and nmo vomiting. One of the ladies on my antenatal thread in 2008 was hospitalised with morning sickness, twas so bad!

Truffkin · 09/02/2011 14:06

Hi ladies and congratulations on making it to th mid-point of the working week for everyone who is at work!

Katee glad to hear those symptoms are prevailing, for now I suppose you could be glad of a less-sicky day as I cannot imagine feeling nauseaous day in day out for months on end. One to be avoided if at all possible!

Tory great news, hope your next test is one for sharing with your DH so you can realy start the excitement Grin

I was symptom spotting a lot yesterday and convinced myself that there was a little bean burrowing in due to lower back pain, crampy feelings in the womb region and an overwhelming tiredness kicking in. Today there is not much going on and in spite of much prodding no boob soreness, which I know tends to be the giveaway for most people. I don't get any pre-ERTD signs and am not due until Tuesday anyway so it would be far too early for any cramping (24-hours in advance for me at the very outset)

I should imagine I have a few more days of mentalness to go yet before I know either way!

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 13:05

PS just bought myself a cup of normal earl grey tea (have been drinking decaff version at home) and the normal stuff still tastes foul, which is reassuring. Just have to test these things occasionally Grin

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 13:03

yay tory :)

tory79 · 09/02/2011 13:01

Hi all

Yes of course I did another test Grin what do you think I am, some kind of saint!?

So, another Boots one this morning, and at first I thought there wasn't a line at all, and then I realised that both the control line and the test line seemed to just be shifted over to the left and I just hadn't noticed with the test line compared to how dark the control line was!

Anyway, suffice to say I am now about 75% sure it is deffo a line, and certainly darker than the last 2....STILL haven't said anything to DH though, I want one more tomorrow I think!

xxx

TerrysNo2 · 09/02/2011 10:22

Hello all

tory Congrats - a line is a line is a line Grin Have you done another today?

essence early CDs are boring but also I find I don't obsess think about conceiving so much so that is nice. Enjoy your day with DS, I am picking mine up at 2 and can't wait Grin.

battery I have no idea about the CBFM but I hope OV gets confirmed shortly. I think I will OV tomorrow so we can hopefully be 2ww buddies!

Digi / newgold DS was one of those annoying only once AND on the pill conceptions - and now when we want one and are SWI-ing all the blooming time no luck!! Typical huh. Still feel blessed that we have DS even if he wasn't on our radar at the time.

weimy how long are you away for, it shouldn't matter if you miss one day as you can SWI either side. DH has been away and is coming back tonight but we SWI on Monday night and will do again tonight (I don't CARE how tired he will be Wink)

Karbea hope you are feeling better today. A new chart always looks nice!

I hope that I OV tomorrow - CD15 today and my cervix is high, got OV pain and lots of EWCM, going to do an OPK later. Would tie in nicely with DH return and pre-MC cycles so FX for me!

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 10:19

Hi MrsA fretting about lack of symptoms at the mo, which is not to say I'm not knackered and don't have big achy boobs and (it seems) the beginnings of a bump! Haven't felt as sick today, so worried, but I've read that these things come and go, so shouldn't be really. Which I keep telling myself. Temps are still firmly up anyway!

Sorry that AF got you, that's a bummer!

Have a good time in York!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 09/02/2011 10:06

Morning ladies, sorry I've been a stranger but incredibly busy atm
And af turned up on sat. Was half expecting her but a temp plunge and short bleeding on 9dpo really got my hopes up.
I have to confess my cycle confused and upset me.
Off to York for a meeting but will try to come back later with a couple of qns I have.

Tory anymore POAS? Katee how's it going?

Hello to all, sorry not to name check more of you, on bb.

essenceofSES · 09/02/2011 09:31

battery - yes, I do use CBFM. The girls over on the CBFM thread are lovely an dv knowledgable.

Usually in the first month, you can get readings that may suprise you but after a couple of months it settles down and you normally get a few high days followed by 2 peak days followed by 1 high day.

Where the CBFM is clever is that it measures the 2 different hormone levels.

As for you query about the lines on the stick for the CBFM, I've c&p an explanation from KnackeredCow on the CBFM thread which I don't think I can beat!:

The one nearest to the end you pee on is LH. This becomes darker as LH surges. LH surges approximately 12 - 48 hours before you ovulate.

The one furthest away from the end that you pee on is oestrogen. The technology of the stick uses a negative assay and this means it fades out as oestrogen surges. When oestrogen peaks, it becomes quite faint and then fades back in.

Oestrogen levels rise and surge 1 - a few days before your LH surge. The LH surge triggers ovulation

At the beginning of your cycle you will have low oestrogen and LH (hopefully - some conditions can mean this is not the case). The CBFM measures your baseline levels and then compares to these. If you do have low LH and oestrogen, you'll see a dark line furthest away from the end you pee on and a faint or no line on the end closest to pee end.

When your oestrogen surges, which tells the CBFM to read high, you'll see a faint line (or no line) closest to the end you pee on and a faint line (or no line) furthest away from the end on which you pee. The monitor switches from low to high.

When your LH (which triggers ovulation) surges, you will see a dark line closest to where you pee and the oestrogen line (furthest away from the pee end) will become darker, or non existent, as oestrogen levels should be falling at this point..

The monitor does measure against baseline (ie early in your cycle) and so it's important to trust it rather than what you see on the stick. It assesses the intensity of the colours of the lines. It should be accurate unless you have any conditions that mean that you have high LH or oestrogen levels early in your cycle.

HTH!

batteryhen · 09/02/2011 08:18

Hi essence - Unfortuntely I am in the east midlands - I am lucky to have found an acupunturist with such an interest in fertility!

It is my first month with the monitor. I feel certain I OV'd yesterday as with all other OPKs I only ever have one positive day and then ovulate later the same day - must have a short LH surge. Also when I took the stick out - both lines were really faint but the day before it was only that one line was darker. Do you use CBFM?

Jealous of your day off xx

essenceofSES · 09/02/2011 07:58

Morning CD3 here so v boring!
Having a good week at work though so that helps! I'm covering for a much more senior manager (the job I would like in the future!) and have had great feedback :)
Also day off today as it's Wednesday! Some time with DS will be great :)

battery - glad you got on well with the acupuncture. You're not in the SE at all are you?!
As for your CBFM, how many peak days have you had? How many months have you been using it?

newgold - we're a "whenever we get the chance in the fertile period" couple! With DS and both DH and me having a lot on at work, sometimes that may only be twice Hmm That could well be our problem I suppose!

weimy - hope ov turns up before the weekend for you!

tory - have you done another test this morning?

MrsA - hope you're ok? Come and have an offload on here if it helps.

IfAtFirst - has ov showed up yet? The WTF cycle can be all over the place so don't despair. I have heard (and it was certainly my experience when ttc DS) that for the first couple of cycles after mc, your body is super fertile!

Hello everyone else!

batteryhen · 09/02/2011 06:52

morning all:)

well I had my acupunture last night- she really is brilliant and is writing a book on acupuncture and fertility :)

Anyhow - lots of ov pain last night - think I have released a duck egg Grin

My temp is up this morning but my monitor still says peak. God only knows what is going on. I might go ask the cbfm girls.....

As my dp said my body 'does not conform to national standards and behaviour'. It tends to do what the hell it likes.

Hope everyone is ok - sorry for AF for those who have her and hello to our up duffed ladies xx

digitalgirl · 08/02/2011 22:23

newgold we went for everyday from first ewcm, softening of cervix, till day of ov this cycle. Then once more around implantation - as I heard an old wives tale about research done saying conception more likely if sperm from same partner is still hanging around during implantation. Seemed to work. Despite dh having low volume and low morphology Smile.
BUT for every successful 'everyday' anecdote, there will be a successful 'just the once' anecdote.

Newgolddream · 08/02/2011 22:21

Thanks you 2 for your views so far.Smile

Generally I ov as I said CD10 or CD11 but 1 cycle it was CD17, guess in that case I had better keep on going.

Truffkin · 08/02/2011 21:58

Good stuff Karbea *assume you knew I meant overlay rather than ocerlay, which is what I actually typed!

GoldDream I try for every day for the 3 days leading up to OV, on the day of OV and the day after because I like to get a gold star from FF Grin but have also had cycles when we have not managed every day, neither has worked for us so far Grin

Not very helpful am I? Sorry ladies!

Karbea · 08/02/2011 21:53

Newgolddream really interested to see everyones view on this, OH and I have pretty much always done it everyday, I think i'd struggle to convince OH we need to do it less when i'm ov'ing.
