kateepie2 · 11/02/2011 08:22

for me, not to me. Durr!

kateepie2 · 11/02/2011 08:21

Hi Tory I', 18dpo, not sure what usual lp is as I just started charting this month, but the previous 2 cycles since coming off the pill were 28 days, so 14-16 days lp I guess. I may just be producing hcg more slowly, I've heard some people do.

I think it will properly sink in to me when I have a bump!

How are you getting on mrsa?

Good luck to amanda

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 11/02/2011 07:58

Congratulations Tory! Sorry, I forget, is this your first pg? If so, enjoy it and indulge yourself!

Raven I think I know what you mean, it is hard not to obssess and being told stress is stopping you conceiving causes stress!!
Have you thought about withdrawing slowly rather than cold turkey and perhaps stopping temping once ov is confirmed?
I've thought about that cos the stress of the last few days pre af is not nice.
Or you could just go off you CM
It's all very well docs saying just swi every other day but when you have a toddler, a fulltime job and a partner wh works away, its not that easy!

My acupuncturist did say to make sure we were making love, not just swi and that can stop conception due to stress! Can't win!

tory79 · 10/02/2011 22:24

Thanks for all the congrats everyone. How long does it take to sink in? I feel like I must be talking about someone else! Have just got home and dh has bought me some lovely flowers, so at least he is starting well!!

Kateepie I think you are a few days behind me anyway aren't you? I am 16dpo today, and today officially late, I had a relatively variable lp of 11-15 days so it was a bit hard to tell! So I am sure that line will be darker very soon!

AmandaCooper · 10/02/2011 20:17

Kateepie2 thanks, I do have a very regular cycle. 14 days must be about normal I guess so 10 is a bit short. Still don't know whether to worry, I guess time will tell, it will be a starting point if we have trouble. Followed by obsessing cold turkey as above!

weimy · 10/02/2011 20:10

Good luck Raven xxxx

MrsP81 · 10/02/2011 20:06

Good luck raven! Please come back and tell us once you've got your BFP. Of course you haven't offended anybody!

I have not been on MN as much this cycle as I think it is adding to the stress, trying to occupy my mind with other things instead.

I am going away this weekend for my birthday so I won't be around for a few days. By the time I come back I will either have a BFP or AF. Judging by the way I just yelled at DH for no reason I suspect it will be the latter!

Karbea · 10/02/2011 19:51

raven I need to know more about the less sex thing... I'm worried OH and I have too much, we often do it more than once a day... do you think this is impacting sperm quality? ummm...Hmm

ravenlocks · 10/02/2011 18:52

I knew I would struggle with cold turkey on MN!... Missing you all already! Just popped back to say thanks to terrys and truffkin.

I know the feedback was in essesnce - "relax and it will happen" (which is like a red rag to a TTCer!) but going to try to give it a go. Not easy though as already thinking... will I just temp tomorrow so I can get my FF crosshairs and then stop after that!?! I am 2DPO today, but going to try to resist!

Hope I don't offend anyone, I am not saying charting is a bad thing or detrimental - just for me at the moment.

Truffkin · 10/02/2011 17:30

Wow Raven you sound very sensible and I'm really pleased you had a good meeting with your GP, she sounds great! Good luck with your new approach, hope it wins you your baby!

Great news Tory and also brilliant that your DH can now get excited with you! Here's to a boring and uneventful 8 months IYKWIM Grin

Kaytee ha ha about the 2WT, on another thread I post on we refer to it as the 2WOOFL (2 weeks of obsessive Fing lunacy) so I refer to woofling a lot on there! I'm glad my DH has never come across my MN log on, he would think I am even more crazy than he already does!!

Jaggy I'm sending you deep sleep vibes (and your DS) and hope you can catch up soon ((hugs))

TerrysNo2 · 10/02/2011 13:35

raven goodbye and good luck - we will miss you but your reasoning sounds very sensible, maybe it just took an outsider who is not obsessed charting to point that out. Please do come back and share your BFP with us when you get it! Smile

tory do I have to say congrats for every test Wink well ok because I'm sure you're not tiring of hearing it - CONGRATS!! Grin

jaggy sorry for lack of sleep, I can emphasise although DS sleeping much better now.

woo hoo super +ve OPK for me today. Glad DH and I finally managed to SWI this morning whilst DS was shoved in front of In the Night Garden! Blush DH was hungover after his work trip last night and as you can imagine I was NOT impressed. Right, sperm meets egg plan means tonight and tomorrow for us too - FX!! Smile

ravenlocks · 10/02/2011 11:40

Congrats Tory, I knew it looking at your chart a while ago!

Ladies, I am withdrawing from the thread.

I went to the docs this morning and she was lovely. I had a really good long talk with her about all sort of things going on in my life (and happening over the last year) and she thinks my conception problem is stress.

Her advice to me was:

  • don't chart

She asked me why I did it (I said to find out when I ovulate) and she thinks I am a bit bonkers if I have regular cycles (I ovulate CD15-17 religiously), have charted a couple of times to confirm I ovulate and LP is ok. She thinks the pressure of doing this outweights the benefits (for me).

  • have less sex

I described my SWI pattern and she thought a) we did it too much and could impact sperm quality b) as we were doing it primarily to baby make we were putting pressure on ourselves which adds to stress.

She didn't want to do the blood tests on me and says she is 99% sure there is nothing wrong homonally but will do them in a couple of months together with a sperm analysis for DH if I want and am still not pg. She also thought the pressure of going through these tests will add stress and will outweight the benefits of doing them just now.

  • try and remove stress sources

Work/ moving home etc etc, some of which will naturally happen, others I will work on.

She pointed out that we concived over Xmas when DH and I were both on holiday (we both have stressful jobs, and very soon after we sold our house and moved which was a horribly stressful salem and very soon after a particularly horrible time DH had at work had ended)

I daren't tell her I also surf MN and google conception realted stuff for many many hours a week and I am sure if I told her that she would have told me to stop!

So doctors orders I am packing away my BBT thermometer and going to stop surfing (I may have to do a staged withdrawal from MN though).

I have learnt so much from you guys, this has been a great thread. Wishing you so much luck and many BFPS!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

jaggythistle · 10/02/2011 11:35

i could take the lack of sleep if it was a happy toddler waking me up. he doesn't seem to know what he wants, so is a bit hard to settle. i did draw the line at getting the crayons out at 4am...

has been given antibiotics by the doctor today, hopefully it is actually a bacterial infection and not another virus so the medicine will sort him out.

kateepie2 · 10/02/2011 11:20

I'm certainly no expert, but from what I've read amanda 10 days is about the minimum you could get away with. Is your cycle regular in that you ov pretty much the same time each month? Might be worth talking to your GP if it is. Having said that, I ov'd on 24 Jan, and got my first positive result (very faint) on 4 Feb, which is 10 days, with implantation spotting 2 days before that, so I guess it depends on how quickly the bean gets over to the uterus and implants?

HTH Smile

AmandaCooper · 10/02/2011 10:47

Ladies sorry to crash your thread to ask questions but your reputation as the charting oracles of MN goes before you I'm afraid. My question is about my luteal phase. I OV on CD19 or 20 of a 30 day cycle. Is ten days long enough?

Thank you in advance.

essenceofSES · 10/02/2011 08:15

Great news Tory - congratulations Grin

kateepie2 · 10/02/2011 08:12

Hooray for tory! You got there much faster than me, I still don't have a stonking positive line yet... must have slower hcg production or something. Wink Is steadily getting stronger tho.

Hope you get some more sleep soon jaggy!

Fingers crossed AF turns up soon for you ifatfirst

xx

StrawberryCreamTea · 10/02/2011 08:03

Fantastic news Tory, congratulations! xx Grin

jaggythistle · 10/02/2011 07:58

congratulations Tory!

tory79 · 10/02/2011 07:37

100% beautiful clear line on a First Response this morning ladies!

DH is now in the know, and is very excited, once he had got over his annoyance at being woken up early Grin

jaggythistle · 10/02/2011 04:50

morning all. cd7 and nothing to see here.

been reading TCOYF just to feel like i was doing something. was inspired to check cervix for the first time yesterday, woo. have also ordered more Pre-seed, i figure it can't hurt. was using it last time i got pg so am maybe superstitious that it will help!

poor DS is still not back to normal sleeping/eating/anything wise after 2 illnesses in a row. waking up nearly every day at 4am. he's almost settled back to sleep now. I'm just trying not to fall asleep in this chair!

really sorry for still moaning about this, have now had about 2 full nights sleep in nearly 4 weeks, would just like slightly more predictable not poorly DS back now!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/02/2011 22:16

Yes, as of today I've ditched the OPKs as an anovulatory cycle had crossed my mind too..... roll on CD1 :(

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 21:18

Cooee! Hello all

Must say I do prefer not feeling ick! digitalgirl I am still temping, each day of temps staying up helps me survive the nerves...

Good luck to truffkin auntiedoris mrsa and anyone else suffering the 2wt (2 week torture)

To add to the swi debate - my approach this month:

Started temping a couple of days after AF gone, and succumbed to OPKs, SWI every other day for the 6 days around ov. Drank grapefruit juice before ov and loads of pineapple juice (2 cartons in three days) after. I think knowing when I'd ov'd helped a lot, and the temping made me feel more in control.

FWIW, apart from a couple of v. emotionally screwy days just after ov, I didn't have the usual am I pg feeling, which was a bit of a giveaway!

hth Smile

xx

digitalgirl · 09/02/2011 20:36

ifat you may find your WTF is anovulatory. Is it worth ditching the opk's? Or at least until you get some ewcm? Peeing on sticks everyday as well as temping everyday can be a little disheartening if it's taking longer than usual.

Hope everyone's well. Have finally put my thermometer in the drawer (that's hard to reach from my bed), hope to leave it there for a very long time.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/02/2011 20:20

essence still no sign of ov, OPKs are stubbornly very negative (no hint of another pink line). I did another PG test yesterday just to be sure MC had cleared, and that was neg too.... Now on CD28 WTF indeed!!!!
