Last thread was here

The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (It just takes longer to get in the mood

I didn't think I'd want to take DH's surname after we got married but I did, so any kids we have will have his surname

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 02/02/2011 16:32

that's right, Babylann - it means Big Fat Positive - means that person is duffed up, bun in the oven.

There is no way i will ever be loved up enough to give any child i bear DH's surname.
I thought i would mellow naturally after the wedding, but the more it enters my head, the more vehement i am that i should keep my name - and that children should have at the very least a joint surname.
i'm going to PM you to reveal all.
Grin

I know what a BFP is, but what dies it actually stand for? All I could figure was Big Fat Positive?

Originally we were going to use a joint surname nickel, but close to the end of pregnancy when my hormones were all loved-up, I agreed to his surname as I wanted us all to have the same surname when/if me and dp get married - it's more family-ish. I was planning on keeping my surname when we married in my feminist ways, but actually don't mind that much as my surname is pretty ugly anyway!

How do you know when it's time to start a new thread - is there a limit to how many posts one can have?

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 02/02/2011 16:21

oh, yeah :(

it's 960 on mine.

Reality got a BFP.

we can count her, because technically, she joined us before she POASd.

babylann - we have also picked names (the 1st boy and girl of which I have known for years and years and years), we have also agreed a joint surname forthem, which every day or so, i say "i don't want to usethe joint surname, can't we just call them by my surname?" apparently, that's unfair. (don't see why - he'd have no problem with them taking his hideous surname)

babylann · 02/02/2011 14:48

This is the first month where I actually think we have a chance of making a baby, we've been trying for four months but as I wasn't having periods for some reason unknown to me, I was thinking "yeah but not very likely is it?"

This month I thought, "Ooh! Period! My body is working properly again! We'll definitely get pregnant this month!"

Maaaaybe I started getting carried away (we have picked names Blush), but I think this thread is helping to keep me grounded and understand it might be a little while longer yet, thus preparing me for the disappointment and helping me enjoy the, [cough] pump-pump-squirts. I have only been here with you for a few days, but I would like to say thank you ladies Grin

JosieSmith1 · 02/02/2011 14:40

Yes it's a fab word.

Everyone keeps fucking fawning over her "Do you feel sick" "Do you need a cup of tea" No she fucking doesn't! AngryAngryAngry

Excuse the french Blush

Smile at Nickel "pump-pump-squirt". I'm so glad you lot don't think I'm a freak to be upset when someone else is pg, especially seeing as my work colleagues probably do now.

Meh from Me too Nelly, so very very meh, and slightly Envy and slightly Sad and also slighty Angry. This week is so not a good week

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 02/02/2011 13:20

Meh from me too Nelly

:(

don't worry, we're here to support.
I love this thread because it shows me that i'm not a freak to be upset when someone else is PG and i'm not.
It also helps me to realise that it's okay that it's not just "pump-pump-squirt-ooh, tiny baby"

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 02/02/2011 13:18

they're well, I think, Foghorn - i got a phonecall from dad saying he was at nursery, dropping off DD1, and wanted to ring to give me the lowdown... Grin
he said tehy're resting and he's running on adrenalin!

NervousNelly · 02/02/2011 13:00

CD1 here. Ah how lovely to see ERTD again Hmm. and yet I'm still hoping I'm going to do a MilanoMun . right off to find a bungee jump or something. May as well :)

Kind of hoping you lot are quiet today! We are close to needing a new thread but surely it must be my turn? This is the 6th JS thread I've been on! Can't do it at work though as the copy and paste on iPhone would kill me and it!

Hope those feeling down manage to feel better soon. Found out on Sunday that a friend is pg. They didn't know if she would be able to but actually she got upduffed way quicker than expected. Obviously I am very happy for them. But I won't lie, I am also very Meh. So Meh.

babylann · 02/02/2011 12:44

I tend to just fold my arms and squash them, Katee. But depends what kind of pain it is.

JosieSmith1 · 02/02/2011 11:41

Sorry Katie, no idea. My boobs aren't big enough to ever ache Smile

kateepie2 · 02/02/2011 11:14

Does anyone have any tips for stopping boobs aching? Sat here at work and struggling to get anything done as all I can think about are my boobs hurting! Hmm

Smile Practically it's ok coming from someone on here who actually means it and knows how it feels to be at this stage

PracticallyImperfectInEveryWay · 02/02/2011 10:41

x-post, ignore me saying your turn soon Blush

PracticallyImperfectInEveryWay · 02/02/2011 10:39

Sorry to hear you're so upset Josie. It has to be your turn soon, but in the mean time just keep posting here and know that others know just how you feel.

And if it helps, I had to tell my boss and 2 other people I worked closely with when I was 6 weeks pg with DD as I had horrendous all day morning sickness and spent much of the day on the work toilet floor (very disgusting but not much option!). So indulge in a bottle glass of wine tonight while you are still able and know that said colleague can't. It will be your turn soon!

JosieSmith1 · 02/02/2011 10:37

Oh god Nickel, glad everything went ok! I hate when people say that, keep your bloody noses out!

Katie I'm CD26 but pretty sure nothing's happening. I might get DH to get me a test this afternoon as I hate that glimmer of hope, I know it sounds daft but if I see a BFN then at least I know and I'm not secretly hoping I'm pg in the back of my mind.

I can't get it out of my mind and everytime it pops back into my head I well up. Today is going to be a long day. I think I might actually have to go home

nickelthenaughtybutnicefairy · 02/02/2011 10:26

:( Josie that you're feeling crap - I'm getting similar emotions now that the 3 babies have been born and after each one I get told "your turn nesxt, then!"
I know they mean well, but it makes me feel like such a fake.

I got a text this morning from my friend - DW has given birth and he delivered the baby! Shock

She was in her contractions, got ready to go to the hospital, but she couldn't move at all - and he went to help her, and the baby was crowning! So he had to deliver her himself.
Thay called 999 afterwards, and they sent a midwife along.
that was from 2am to about 5am.
Shock
