Last thread was here

The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (It just takes longer to get in the mood

Aha, the cat loves cheese! I shall have to give her more then! She's a proper 'victim' ... I was in the kitchen and she came in, sat down and looked at me, all 'puss in boots' style, with her front left paw raised Hmm she wouldn't/couldn't put it down, making a real fuss of trying, being a martyr, lol! I tried to look at it, but couldn't see anything other than a claw shedding. I sat her down on the sofa to look in more detail, and she was shaking like a leaf and just kept holding her paw up and 'pawing' the air. I was getting very worried, thinking of calling OH at work to see if we should get her to the vet (also dreading the cost!) ... eventually, with enough stroking and gentle words she calmed down and went to sleep. She's just woken up and is making no fuss whatsoever! Oh, I lie - she's zonked out again Grin

Got2Dance · 28/01/2011 13:18

I heard my baby niece's heart beat!! So cool!! And my sister is being induced oN Tues...yay!

aquavit · 28/01/2011 12:53

porridge and cheese work for all the cats I know.

BamBam21 · 28/01/2011 12:40

We got our cat tins of sardines or pilchards, and they seemed to help her coat, but then she got fussy and wouldn't eat them! The other problem is that she has a dodgy tummy. We got her from the Cat Protection, who had rescued her after a boy tried to drown her as a kitten in a bucket of disinfectant. Angry We can only feed her the most expensive dry food, or she is sick! I would like to get my hands on that boy. Angry Angry

nickel - sorry you got "the gush". Hope your DH is up for more JSing though! Wink

Josie - glad you're feeling more chipper now. They say that being happy and relaxed can help with TTC, so here's hoping!

Got2Dance - fingers crossed for you mi'dearie.

nickelbabysnatcher · 28/01/2011 12:32

it's quite funny, cos I have no idea what you'd give cats as a tonic!
You give chickens Cat Food when they're moulting or cold, but that's what you give cats normally.... Grin

Hmmmmmmm scrambled eggs, oooh I fancy that now! Grin

I'm tempted to nip across the road to Tesco and get some eggs - it's far too tempting having the store right opposite us, and it's a 24 hour one! Well, I suppose that'll come in handy for when I get pregnant and have all sorts of cravings in the middle of the night Wink

JosieSmith1 · 28/01/2011 11:29

Crow scrambled egg? Works for my dog, not sure how it'd work for cats Hmm My dog loves a good rub with the towel too Grin. Thanks for the galaxy by the way!

crowette · 28/01/2011 11:11

OH thought it'd be helpful to try to blow dry the cat once - note 'ONCE'!!!! Never have I seen that cat move so fast, and she refused to talk to him for days Grin Now she just gets rubbed to bits with the towel - think she quite likes it rough Wink

I've tried to give her tuna in oil, as I thought that'd help, but the stupid fussy cat doesn't like tuna! What else can I try??

JosieSmith1 · 28/01/2011 11:04

Thanks Got2Dance, I really feel a lot perkier these days. It's definitely helped that the snow has gone and horsey isn't lame and can still be ridden as that was a huge worry. And yes work is a lot better. I'm trying not to take things personally and stick up for myself a bit more. Plus our new member of staff has really taken the pressure off and I'm back to my normal self - relishing a challenge Grin. Fingers crossed ERTD doesn't arrive for you

Got2Dance · 28/01/2011 10:57

(feel a bit left out that have no pets to tell amusing anecdotes about)

Got2Dance · 28/01/2011 10:54

Glad the funeral was as good as it could be. Bambam

Josie - I meant to say a while ago, you seem so much happier at the moment. Your job seems to have calmed down and they're not asking the earth of you. And no snow makes it easier for you to care for horsey, of course. Really pleased you've bounced back. Obv the viroid love!! Although not so nice that you're feeling a bit poorly now. Def too soon for symptoms!

Can I have some of this Galaxy too? Just want the next few days to be over....so I know either way.

nickelbabysnatcher · 28/01/2011 10:54

one of our cats had a skin condition a while ago - he was very very very dandruffy, and the vet suggested feeding him oily food to help the skin.
then one day, we watched him come into the room (after we'd coem home from work) and his fur was all shiny and beautiful! in one day it just completely disappeared! Shock
he really had looked awful before - clumps of dandruffy fur hanging on, and flakes everywhere - he looked very grey-furred and just awful and then gone! just like that!

X-post Crow when I bathe my dog she looks like a drowned rat Grin She's a bichon frise and she's really fluffy but when she's wet she's tiny really, and soooo cute! But she cries and looks at me with her sad puppy eyes till I'm done. Then when we dry her she plays with the air from hairdryer and rubs herself all round the rug GrinHmm She's daft Grin Maybe your cat realised you were helping her and that's why she behaved

nickelbabysnatcher · 28/01/2011 10:52

:( BamBam I'm sure it was a lovely send-off.

have been having drips since ERTD "started" on Monday, and I was beginning to think it would never get going, but this morning i got the gush and now i'm just annoyed at gravity. Angry

ah well.
counted out my folic acid tablets today, and we're now on cycle 5.

BamBam21 · 28/01/2011 10:50

Ooooh, thank you Crow!

Our cat is black too, with a white bib and socks. She's pretty fluffy, and the dandruff is just such a bad look! Hmm

BamBam21 · 28/01/2011 10:48

It was fine thanks Josie. I just wanted to be there to support DP. I even managed not to cry when we sung Abide with Me. That song always makes me well up. Sad

Understand you not wanting to read anything into your symptoms, but it's so exciting! Grin

crowette · 28/01/2011 10:47

Haha last time, she clawed my back to shreds! She jumped over my shoulder as I was leaning over the bath to hold her and dug her claws in my back to pull herself up Hmm But most times she sits still, mewing pitifully! We think she's learning that it makes her better in the long run ... her skin isn't so irritable. She's all black so the flakes show up so much. She's gone back to our bed now, and will no doubt sleep all day until OH gets in and play the victim and want pity Grin he's got her sussed though!

JosieSmith1 · 28/01/2011 10:44

Hope it went as well as funerals can go Bam

Got2Dance I'm due a week today, it's really gonna drag! Not feeling very well today actually, I'm completely knackered. Couldn't be bothered to do any housework last night (but did anyway as DH wouldn't help Shock) and ended up in bed at half 9, then couldn't get up this morning and left DH to go do horsey on his own Hmm. Think I'm coming down with something. I've just come over really hot and feel a bit sickly. Refusing to read anything into it, it's far too early. If I get some definite and couldn't possibly be imagined symptoms then I'll get excited Grin

BamBam21 · 28/01/2011 10:40

LOL Crow! I reckon if I tried to bathe our cat, there wouldn't be much of my face left by the end of it! She's a grumpy wee sod. Grin I love her though. Funnily enough, she has dandruff too, which I always thought was weird. No sore patches, just dandruff! Confused

Glad you are having a better day today though Crow! Enjoy your chocolate.

Grin
crowette · 28/01/2011 10:32

Morning G2D I don't know what to make of it, but I do know I've only ever had boobs as sore as that when I was expecting my girls ... but maybe my body is just getting old and playing tricks on me Grin

Well, I just had fun - I had to bathe the cat!! She has a skin condition, and now and then it breaks out and she'll scratch and lick her skin until she makes it sore and it results in scabs (lovely) so we have to put a lampshade collar on her (which she loves us for Hmm) then the scabs dry out and she looks like she's covered in dandruff. I was brushing her earlier and it looked as though she'd been in a snow storm! Usually OH helps, as we need one to hold her down and one to shampoo and rinse her. But I decided it needed emergency treatment and did it on my own. She was so well behavdd - I kept talking to her all the way through, telling her she was a good girl, and at one point she even sat still and just let me get on with it, before making another bid for freedom! She'd usually go and hide after, sulking, but she's being sociable ... I've given her treats and cuddles etc, and still no sulking! Bless her.

I think I deserve chocolate now Wink

BamBam21 · 28/01/2011 10:25

Morning viroids. How are you all today?

Sorry I missed yesterday's chat. I was at DP's uncle's funeral. Glad it's over now.

I love the viroids too Truffkin! So much experience between us all.

Waves and hugs to all. Smile

Got2Dance · 28/01/2011 09:31

Morning...wow, I missed out on all sorts of interesting chat!

Crow - sorry to hear ERTD has got you. And got you good and proper as well. My boobs have been super super sore before the last couple and I POAS and got BFN. So I know that for me sore boobs does not equal MC. I hope that's the same for you.

Dee - so sorry to hear about your DS1 and the horrors you've been through. This one will be so much better!

I agree with Nelly (I think it was Nelly!) about hosptial birth. HB sounds nice in theory, but I think I'd rather have everyone and everything to hand just in case! A MLU would be ideal, I guess.

My sister has gest diabetes and is being induced either mon or tue next week. Really excited for her...she's not due for another 10 days, but her first was 2 weeks late and earlier this week the baby already weighed nearly 9lb.

Josie - when are you due? Lost track....

I'm on day 32 today...ERTD appeared on day 34 last month, so still expecting it anytime. I WILL NOT TEST!!!!

Hi to everyone else

crowette · 28/01/2011 08:46

Thanks Josie ... I'm feeling better this morning. Think I was over tired and hormonal. Luckily OH was understanding :)

I'm not working today, so I have to sort the girls' room, which has become a dumping ground for boxes and everything else we can't fit elsewhere. But now we have their beds they can stay over and I have to find room for all the stuff! Also make a start on getting their beds up .... or I may just leave that to OH this evening Grin

Or I may just stay in bed and sleep!

JosieSmith1 · 28/01/2011 08:24

Aw Crow it's not daft at all. I often feel quite vulnerable like that and it's not because I don't trust DH, it's because my self esteem happens to be low at that time and it bothers me when it shouldn't. I'm worse after ERTD arrives as I feel like I have failed every month so your self esteem is very low. I hope you feel better soon

crowette · 28/01/2011 00:17

I had the bedroom window open - on the street! I think I asked for it to be closed when it got to the noisy bit though Grin the worst I did was swear quite loudly at the pushing stage ... it was very intense and I'd had no pain relief. Neighbours didn't hear a thing and that's in a terraces house with thin walls!

As for the hospital - bear in mind it was 17 years ago; stuff like having to go to the day room to eat and leave baby by the bed (in the days before electronic tags on babies), having to ask for formula, having too many people around ... other's visitors, their noisy babies etc. On the delivery ward; the midwife leaving you alone to tend to others, seeming very authoritarian, just unable to relax as you're not in control.

Am feeling really crap at the moment ... very emotional. Got cramps and am bloaty. Got all sad when a song came on my ipod, which took me back too an awful point in my life. Then I got very weepy Blush Then to top it all, OH told me he'd got a message on FB from an old friend, who happens to be female, who is in the area and wants to catch up with him and meet me. Thing is, she and him have a joint interest which they're both excited about and he warned me they'd probably spend the whole time talking about it, and I may get bored but he really wants her to meet me, and I feel rude if I don't go. Then I felt insecure and threatened ... even though I know I have no reason to. I just got it into my head that he'd realise he had more in common with her than me, because she's more excited about this interest that's very important to him, and that he'll fall for her Sad

I know it is daft, and I trust him totally ... I suppose I'm just feeling vulnerable. And now it's put me in a cruddy mood and I've taken myself off to bed for a cry. Bluergh.
