The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

Wiggle congratulations although I was getting confused between hsgs and hcgs and thinking you can't do an hsg if you're pg. Brain going. I hope it sticks.

Mouse I'd really recommend you talk to your union or post all details on the employment board and ask for flowerybeanbag and ribena. They are very good advisors (hr person and lawyer) and may give you useful tactics of how to head off boss in best way.

batteryhen · 10/03/2011 09:41

Morning everyone :)

wiggle that is fab news - brilliant timng Grin let us know how the appointment goes - especially if they do HCG for you :)

izzy - I think your SMEP sounds like you have done enough and am very Envy at people who have lovely organised plans. My plan seems to be :board plane, SWI like crazy, board plane. Let's hope it works for both of us! :)

mouse I agree with what the others say. Your boss sounds an arse. Apart from the fact she wouldn't have a leg to stand on - she should not be able to put you under that sort of pressure. I take it she has never had the misfortune to have suffered a MC? It really pisses me off when other women can be so uncaring and crap at times like this.

bee have you decided to go ahead with the clexane? How long have they said you have to continue?

jolls Have not looked a the list yet - any news from you at all?

moo hows your tum? Any better?

mentalingmummy hello lady. How are things form the mental side :)

So it is CD16 for me today. No sign of eggy. I am on day4 of highs on my CBFM, last month I ovulated on day 14, but before that it was 17, so I hope I get a peak tomorrow. Think maybe my hysteroscopy may have delayed me a couple of days. Which is fine as I get to have lots of SWI to build up for it!

Big wave to everyone I have missed xxx

randomimposter · 10/03/2011 08:25

woo hoo wiggle - healthy, happy and sticky thoughts truck coming your way!

have done today's list and moved you down x

morning everyone else :)

MummyAbroad · 09/03/2011 22:28

GETAWIGGLE !!!! ShockGrin ooooh you tease to slip that BFP in two thirds of the way down such a long post!! I know you probably feel its too early for excitement, but I am really excited for you!! Grin Grin and will even go so far as to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! Grin Grin I have just recently discovered the first few days of mentalling are the worst, feeling like it wasnt a proper BFP, may disappear any minute, AF might come etc. Hold on tight its a bumpy ride!

getawiggleon · 09/03/2011 22:14

Thanks Izzy fwiw you've done much better than we did if you managed to follow smep this month. We only managed ov day and the day before as the egg hatched early this cycle taking me by surprise so don't be disheartened.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/03/2011 22:02

wiggle that's fantastic news, and what great timing!!!! Grin Grin Grin. Fx for a sticky healthy bean and eight boring months!!! Grin

getawiggleon · 09/03/2011 21:58

Evening ladies, this thread has fallen off my active list again so I figured it's time for a catch up!

Mouse Sorry you're having such a hard time and that work is adding to all the sh*t that you are going through. (())

Hugs too for Bee You are very strong going back to work so soon but as you say, work is sometimes a good distraction. How did the appt go yesterday?

YRMOTB Congrats Grin What a lovely story. A nice slinky wedding dress and organising a massive Wine celebration is guaranteed to bring about diffage.

battery I've been trying to think of a German name for your swi mission this month but am failing to come up with anything remotely funny/ relevant. Your airport story made me chuckle, best just to be totally brazen in those circumstances. I did it in my local pharmacy last month whilst explaining to the hapless assistants what Pre-Seed was. "It's a sperm friendly lubricant"

Well done Izzy on the smep. Let's hope it brings about results Smile

We have our initial consultation at the fertility clinic tomorrow afternoon so I've been focusing on that this month, trying to get bloods done with GP beforehand etc. It was only after a quick lurk this afternoon that BB reminded me where I was in my cycle. Obviously I've been merrily widdling on sticks since 8dpo for the last couple of days but only on the internet cheapies and more to satisfy the urge to poas rather than the hope of anything else.

I thought I saw the odd faint line on a couple of ocassions but sometimes the dye seems to be spread so randomly over the sticks that I don't get my hopes up. This morning I had the squiffiest of shadows though so after I read BB's post thsi afternoon I thought, oh what the heck, I'll go crazy and try a superdrug one. It only turned out to be a faint line? Shock

I'm trying to hold off being too excited just yet as I also have a twinge/ pain on my left hand side so I'm worried that if it is a genuine bfp that it may not be in the right place!

It's great timing re appt tomorrow though as hopefully the clinic will do hcg etc and give me some answers on thyroid levels. With a bit of luck they may monitor pg too if I get that far!

Next week would've been my dd from mc last year so I guess I could've given birth any time around now had it all worked out. Maybe that little bean has been looking down on us this week Smile Fingers crossed!

CaribouMoo · 09/03/2011 21:26

Mouse I am raging on your behalf. Can you not talk to your union about this? I know you have said she doesn't have a case but she shouldn't be allowed to put you through this - its too much on top of what you're trying to deal with. Why are you back at work so soon anyway? I got a line for 2 weeks after my surgeries and had to persuade my doc to sign me fit to go back to work after 10 days. I'm sure you would have no problem getting signed off.

Well done Iz, that's quite an achievement. Good on you! Battery that is quite a tale from the airport, that'll teach him! BB glad you got through the test with minimum discomfort x

Ladybee · 09/03/2011 21:24

mouse that's horrendous. I'm astounded. I feel so sorry for you having to deal with work stress at a time like this. I've had amazing support at work and I still feel like I can barely cope with a slightly narky email let alone anything with real stress involved.

My appt today was ok, nurse was super super sympathetic, apologised for not knowing and also for asking 'so now how many weeks are you'. However she said she thought I should still be on the clexane as the hormones that can increase clotting risk in pg hang around for a while even after MC. She confirmed with the consultant and has prescribed more, but I'm not feeling that happy about starting it up again, I've been off it for 2 weeks now. Gah.
Oh and I've done something to my back. Feel like an old woman. In fact, I think I might go to bed now. Grin

Blackkat · 09/03/2011 21:13

Been lurking for news from mouse and am so upset for you that your boss has been such a first grade arse, again, Angry. But, as you say she wouldn't have a leg to stand on, which is a small glimmer of positive. Hope you're feeling on the mend soon, and are getting lots of TLC at home. Thinking of you XX

to izz guinea pigs sound fun Smile, mummya so glad all is going well, YRMOTB congratulations Grin Chloe and to everyone else

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/03/2011 21:08

Eek - how many typos?! bb and mummya I don't know why that all went bold. And I'm definitely not leaving the Wine I just wanted to pour it out and join you in a glass! Grin

battery forgot to say, enjoy the DeutscheShagFest! Wink

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/03/2011 21:04

Evening all - sorry haven't posted much over last few days, I am actually managing pretty well on the not-obsessing this month and have been really busy at work, and getting stupidly excited about new furry arrivals (the guinea pigs!) in a couple of weeks! Anyway I've checked the list and see I'm on cd19 now so into the home straight...again!! Effort's not been the best this month so I'm not expecting miracles but after a particularly rubbish start to the month I have almost followed SMEP Smile

mouse and ladybee well done both on getting back to work. mouse your boss is an Arse. I don't know what else to say really, I can't believe you're having to deal with all that crap on top of everything else Sad Angry. I hope it works out ok. However if you need any extra time off, do take it and don't let yourself be bullied x

bee I hope you're coping and that the appointment was ok xx

bb I know very little about scar tissue etc, so I would listen to mummya It doesn't sound like they were overly worried though, which is a good thing.

battery your post made me chuckle!! I would love to have seen the look on his face!! Grin

Keeping my fx for Chloe and jolls - always hoping for some more bfps to brighten the week!!

babe how's it going, engaged lady?!! The ring sounds absolutely gorgeous, lucky you! It's fabulous having a wedding to plan, and just the sort of mega-distraction to guarantee diffment - especially after you've ordered the dress!! Anyway I see from the list you're gearing up for swi prime time now - are you following SMEP this month?

Oh and whoever asked about my weight loss - I've lost 11.5 lb since January, only 4.5 to go!! Next weigh-in tomorrow!!

nickstermum · 09/03/2011 20:58

Mouse thats shit. Cant you raise a grievance for victimisation with her boss? Silly cow... (her not you!) Very Angry on your behalf :(

mousebacon · 09/03/2011 19:35

Hello ladies, I'm ok thanks. Finally ditched the surgical stockings this morning so seem to be on the mend physically.

I had a very emotional day at work on monday. My boss decided to tell me that if x, y and z (and lots more inbetween) weren't sorted in a few weeks time then she would begin capability procedings...not what a teacher wants to hear.

I don't think she'd have a leg to stand on after all I've been through since october but it was horrific to have struggled into work 48 hours after my surgery to be told that.

I'm just exhausted by it all to be honest and wish I'd had more guts and just taken a couple of months off after the mmc in Jan.

I really hope I'm on the road to recovery now.

Good luck to all those SWI or POAS, I hope to be joining you in oh, shall we say May?!

xxx

Youremindmeofthebabe · 09/03/2011 16:25

Hello ladies. Glad you've arrived over there battery. Good luck for the SWI. How embarrassed must the man have been!

bb glad the HSG wasn't too bad. Hope you manage to get some answers soon with the Consultant. I haven't been watching OBEM recently. I watched it twice and spent the whole time in tears, so will give it a miss for the forseeable future. Having heard about it, it did sound inspirational though.

I am wiling away the days til I am nearing the beginning of OPK. I am mainly doing this by not running as much as I should be, and eating more chocolate than is strictly necessary. My half marathon is in only in 2 months, and hoping to be pregnant is getting less and less likely. Ho hum. Fx for this month!

Waves to all, chloe am keeping my suspenders on for you..

MummyAbroad · 09/03/2011 13:43

BB I am fine thanks, except morning sickness kicked in yesterday - boo! Its kind of mild/medium ish. If it stays this way I will be happy because that is what I had with DS, but if it gets worse I will be worried because with the pregnancy that ended in mmc I had hyperemisis and was hospitalised. I know its not scientific but in my mind mild sickness = good and extreme sickness = bad.Confused

In your appointment on tues, be prepared for Ashermans to be dismissed quite easily. Doctors who are not familiar with it tend to shy away from it because it makes them feel ignorant. Remember that there are lots of AS experts on the NHS and if necessary push to see them. Dr Anthony Trew is an "A lister" and there are about 4 or 5 other "C listers" too. (contact details and info about their treatment methods and comments by patients are all available on the yahoo group.) If it IS scar tissue, then being so small, you have an excellent chance of getting completely cure IF YOUR SURGERY IS DONE BY AN EXPERT. The most important questions for you to ask are:
How many cases of AS have you seen? and for the person potentially doing surgery - How many hysteroscopies with division of adhesions have you performed? Of those procedures, how many women went on to have successful pregnancies afterwards? Then compare the results with the results of the A, B, and C list doctors on the yahoo site. With your history, I would expect someone who performs these procedures on a weekly basis, who has lots of experience to give you a really really good prognosis.

brokenbarrenbrook · 09/03/2011 13:24

mummya thanks for that, I have an appointment with my Consultant at St Mary's next Tues so will know for sure then. The lady that carried out the test said that it may be scar tissue left over from erpc but that she couldn't say for sure until she had looked at it with her Consultant. The mark was on the right of my womb on the side. It just looked like a dark spot but there was only one, well, one that was obvious at least. I guess I'll know for sure on Tues. How are you doing?

battery I've had 4 mc myself so seeing that lady on obem really hit home for me. Made me think that number 5 we might get our one and only baybee! Laughing lots about the airport! Bet the bloke was mortified! Grin

Chloe fingers crossed!

batteryhen · 09/03/2011 13:17

Have put myself on the list - at last. I hope I have not messed it up < looks anxiously at Jolls > I know what a tidy list means to a lot of people Grin !! xx

MummyAbroad · 09/03/2011 12:49

YRMOTB awwwwwww! What a lovely proposalSmile will go look for that piccie in a minute...

bb glad the HSG wasnt painful for you. I found it agonising! I would be wary of letting a "normal" doctor spot scar tissue, only someone who has seen it plenty of times will really be able to give you a good diagnosis if it is. How many times has the person who read your slide seen scar tissue? Sounds particularly Confused that scar tissue wouldnt cause an mc. Why not? (All AS specialist doctors agree that is does) Dr March in california will look at your slides for free and give you his opinion if you email him. Let me know if you want his contact details. (Dr Lower in London obviously will also look at them too, but I bet he would charge) where abouts was the mark? Its generally agreed that scar tissue in the fundus is "worse" as this is where embryos like to implant. (I had 1cm patch in fundus and cervix 100% scarred shut) When you go to get your results ask what size it is and if it is flat or banded scarring, and if it looks calcified (dense, therefore older and harder to remove) I would really recommend joining the yahoo group for ashermans for more information sorry to sound scary but many many women on that group had surgery with someone who wasnt an expert and they made a small bit of scarring worse. Its very important to get yourself into the hands of someone who knows about scarring. a) to get a proper diagnosis and b) to get the proper treatment. I hope the mark dosent turn out to be scar tissue. An AS expert could certainly tell that straight away and put your mind at rest if that is the case.

chloe sounds really promising!

battery go girl! catching eggs internationally and educating airport staff on fertility matters - good workGrin

jolls i have been watching that list and hoping its your month (and thinking how lovely and tidy it isGrin)

izz hows the three days in a row going? and slimming world? Hope you are well xx

big wave to everyone else.

Chloe55 · 09/03/2011 12:20

Grin *battery, I would love to have seen his face!

ladybee I know what you mean about getting emotional on your own. Having time to think isn't always good for us, is it? Sad

There is still hope for me, my cycle length last month was 32 days so am 4 days off that, however have been spotting (streaky blood every 3rd wipe or so) for about 5 days now, I have no idea what is going on, my AF is noramlly horrendous with thick clots so am pretty sure it's not a ridiculously light AF. This is the worst I have ever been with hope and symptom spotting in all my TTC career!

randomimposter · 09/03/2011 10:45

love the airport story chook, wave at MrCockerel...

tonythetyger · 09/03/2011 10:30

BB I saw one born every minute (first time I've felt capable of watching it). You should definitely try and book in at St Mary's rather than Southampton!!!! The care I received there with ds although not without usual London niggles was far superior in labour to what those women seemed to be receiving.

batteryhen · 09/03/2011 10:26

bb meant to say - glad HSG was good. I do know friends who have got pregnant right after having a hsg - seem to give them a bit of a clean and makes them all shiney. In fact - my friend who is now pg had a hsg and then ovulated on CD8 ( About a week early for her). Luckily she was using opk's and SWI - and is now 16 weeks :)

Just a thought for you to be on the look out for any early eggies :) x

batteryhen · 09/03/2011 10:22

Hello from germany! I am in place and ready to be impregnated (no pressure then)

bb I saw one born every minute and cried with that lady. Even when she had her baby with her she still remembered the ones she lost - I expect that's what it will be like for us all.

jolls no symptoms does not mean you are definitley NOT pg. I will keep my beady eye on you anyway :)

lady hope work is ok - I know what you mean about staying in the house on your own. When I went back to work I felt I had to as the house was so quiet and sad I thought I might go round the bend on my own.

moo lovely to see you - I hope your tummy is getting better x

babe that ring sounds gorgeous. have you set a date yet??

chloe 10dpo is really early to test (not preaching - I have ben known to test from around dpo 8 Blush) - fx you can test again in a day or so (or every day!) and you will get a lovely bfp xxx

Moning to izzy - looks for wiggle and everyone else that I have missed and is lurking.

So here I am with nothing to do - DP is at work so the purpose of my visit really is to wait for him to some home so we can SWI! I quite like being here though, it's nice and quiet and no work to think about :)

Slight mortification at the airport when the man asked to see in my bag and pulled out my fertility monitor and waved it around asking 'what is this??'

So I replied 'it is my fertility monitor. Please don't turn it on or you will mess up my fertile days and that is why I am off to germany - to hopefully get pregnant'

I don't know who Blush more - me, him, or the tasty looking chap behind me :)

randomimposter · 09/03/2011 07:37

morning all

sorry been AWOL, partly busy, partly trying not to obsess...Hmm. Day 22 here, last month that marked 3 days of spotting then 3 clear days which raised my hopes that it was urban myth implantation spotting. It wasn't. No symptoms here at all, so am anticipating another disappointing end to the month.

have had a quick skim, but will read back to catch up properly...

special squeeze for bee and my darlin' BBB, and a BIG WHOOOOOOOOP for yrmotb...

hope everyone's doing ok xxx
