The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

All is well, grooving and boxing away!
Catch up at lunch xx

PrettyVacant1 · 01/02/2011 07:59

Good luck Tiggs just try to close your eyes, think of a happy place, take deep breaths until they say everything is fine.

I did not crane my neck trying to look at the screen and I certainly didn't remonstrate the poor sonographer saying she really should speak more clearly when mumbling the words baby and heartbeat.Blush

Is someone going with you?

Thanks PV. I'm 6+1. Tomorrow morning is my first scan. I don't know if I'll be able to look. The mc never got past 5+6 according to the hospital, although it took another 4 weeks for the minimal bleed to start. So I'll know tomorrow if this one has gone the same way.I keep on trying to convince myself that whatever happens at least I've proved that I can get pg again which I was severely doubting.

I hope yours goes well tomorrow. Do you have someone coming with?

Jollster it's very nice when they're supportive. Really makes a difference to the whole experience. Even makes you grin and bear the hour wait to book your next appt....

PrettyVacant1 · 31/01/2011 18:40

Cheers Didge Smile
I've been thinking, I've done all I can, demandedgot drucks, stayed relatively sane Hmm there's bugger all I can do about it now.
It's nothing I haven't dealt with before.
If all is well , then I'll be panicking. Grin

Jolliebobs yeah for supportive docs, knowing you'll have the hand holding and support has been proven to work wonders.
I remember my Consultant saying re the trial the placebo effect has great results. IYKWIM.

SameOldJollster · 31/01/2011 13:33

digi I have it all crossed for you too. We have similar histories IIRC, except you're a absolute youngster in comparison to me I think? Here's hoping pg#5 is a happy one for us both x

digitalgirl · 31/01/2011 13:23

Cross posted - that is great news jollster

My follow up appt is this month. All tests have also come back clear (although still waiting on karytoyping) - hope I get the same reassurance as you do. Over 60% is pretty good, I'd be happy with those odds myself.

digitalgirl · 31/01/2011 13:12

Thinking of you for tomorrow's scan pv, got everything crossed for you.

SameOldJollster · 31/01/2011 13:09

hey WellAndTrulyBuffied... nice to see you, to see you nice Wink

How's everyone feeling today?

Had a really positive appt this morning at the recurrent MC clinic. The consultant was lovely.

Basically if I get pg again, I will get scans at 6/8/10/12 weeks, and immediately I will be under his care.

He reiterated what I'd already learned at the private clinic and was appropriately empathetic to my situation.

I didn't want or expect a "it'll all be ok" type chat, it was just really reassuring that I would get lots of handholding and support next time round.

Even with 43 looming next month, and after 3 MCs, with the all-clear results I have had, there is a 60% chance of another pg NOT ending in MC. (In fact he said slightly higher as I already have a child).

I'm realistic about the chances of having another child, and although I am/will try again, I'm doing it with a more balanced approach.

I feel in quite a good place acktshally.

Take care y'all x

clareanna · 30/01/2011 17:55

Ooh buff if you friend pv she can out me too if you want!!!

PrettyVacant1 · 30/01/2011 14:56

Have PM'd you Buff Grin

Unbuffy · 30/01/2011 14:04

Yay Pretty Have been wondering where you bin!

I will be your fb freind - how do i do that then? Am a bit Bear at t'interweb...

Best fx for Scan, will be thinking of you. don't worry about the sleep pattern, all things being well you won't have one for the next two years or so little while. As for being on edge, hmm, hsve you tried rescue remedy? It can be great - and make your mouth taste boozy without drinking Grin

Otherwise repeat after me 20 times 'I am Calm, I am Relaxed, I am In Control' (Unfortunately this technique is guaranteed to make me burp hugely or giggle, particularly if there are other people in the room, so you might have to do it by yerself)

PrettyVacant1 · 30/01/2011 13:29

Howdy doody!

Tis me the incredibly vacant one and boy do I feel it!

Been drifting through the last few weeks in a bit of a daze which didn't go down too well in work Blush
Frickin 'roids are making me feel on edge (as well as the normal on edgeness) and my sleep pattern has gone haywire.

I didn't unlurk to moan so I'll shat it!
Soz bout me.

Well, how are we all eh?

Brooks off skiing are we, fab!
You deserve a nice break, I mean rest, don't break anything, yikes, you don't deserve that.

Jolls good to see you're keeping the spirits up and abusing the fatties, you do make me chortle.

Tiggs I'm sure I've said whoop, but if not Grin made up for you, how many weeks are you now?

Buffs bout blardy time you joined the dark side of bookface, wanna be fwends?

My next scan is Tue and I'm shitting it!
This will be the latest scan I've got to.
Never actually seen a moving bean before. Hmm

Unbuffy · 30/01/2011 10:34

SameOldJollster · 29/01/2011 07:45

hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

anyone there?

BB - are you off skiiing now? If so enjoy and take care x

NewImprovedJollster · 26/01/2011 22:11

good stuff Tigger... dare I say baby steps and all that? x

tigger15 · 26/01/2011 22:08

Thanks appt was fine. I saw the lovely diabetic consultant who said he recognised me from 4 years ago and promised I could go to 40 weeks if my control was as good as last time (hospital policy is 39 weeks and since I had a c-sec I can't be induced again).

I then thought I'd get out miraculously early until they made me wait an hour to book my next appt!!!!!

I'd forgotten how much I love the nhs....

It felt really weird being around that many pg women and I didn't feel like I really belonged. I still can't believe it will happen.

clareanna · 25/01/2011 20:00

tigger hope appt goes well - let us know how you get on x
