The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

Bloody hell mouse that sounds awful! Sad Tell your boss you have only just got out of hospital and the doc has specifically said no visitors or stress for the next few days. I hope you feel better soon.

mousebacon · 16/03/2011 11:02

Hello again ladies. I had a massive, spontaneous bleed and was rushed back into hospital. Was discharged this morning after a 3 night stay.

However, my boss has started texting me asking to come to my house for a meeting. Just don't want to deal with work at the mo.

Just wanted to say hi

ZamMummyInGabs · 16/03/2011 10:45

Hello all, have been off MN as the whole TTC after MC shenanigans has been doing my head in....
But had to pop on and say so so sorry to A&R my TTC#3 buddy. Sending lots of African love your way xx :(
In other news, I'm on the 2WW (4 or 5 DPO today) but not particularly hopeful as we only managed to DTD twice and at "low" times.
A very good RL friend is PG with her first. Trying to keep Envy in check.

(((hugs))) again to A&R and wiggle

randomimposter · 16/03/2011 07:56

BBB that is good news. Do you feel it's good news, or are you in that strange "dunno wot to fink" place? Love MummyA's advice about tube wash...

Wave to all. x

tiggersreturn · 15/03/2011 21:37

It's just paranoia and a bit of eyore nature coming out (sometimes I'm tigger, sometimes I'm eyore but I've had enough of name changing for the moment)

I hope the trial works and placebos can be good too. I'm a big believer in homeopathy although I did stop taking the concoction my old GP prescribed after 3 months did not result in conception.

Ladybee · 15/03/2011 17:42

Just quickly, as got to go get DS, but broken I hope you do get the progesterone as this looks like study repeating previous research, that appears to have been quite positive.
There's mention of it in the last sentence of the Cochrane Review of studies -- see here . It seems to be of dubious use for non recurrent MCers, but for those who have had 3 or more it does seems to have a good effect. (Another reason why I am going for the 'chuck everything at me' plan if I can next time)
Gotta run!

MummyAbroad · 15/03/2011 16:20

BB so glad your HSG was clear! Smile. I hope you are not "disapointed" that they didnt find anything IUSWIM. Dont forget the tube wash effect is in play this month so take advantageGrin Study sounds v interesting.

brokenbarrenbrook · 15/03/2011 16:18

Gahhhh, sorry A&R I meant Ali Blush

brokenbarrenbrook · 15/03/2011 16:15

wiggle so sorry my darling, sending you lots of love. You are so right how mc is an isolating time, I hope you can find some solace with us here, we all know only too well how shit it all feels. Thinking of you.

freezing good to see you back, how you feeling?

tigger I'll have less of the pessimism please! Wink Hopefully there's nothing specific making you feel like that and it's just you being paranoid that you are naturally going to feel after going through mc's? Which I am sure it's completely normal to feel like that, I know I will.

a&r keeping my fingers crossed that all is ok for you, good luck for Thurs, let us know how you get on

Got results from hsg today, all clear. Essentially we were told, in not so many words, that the 4 mc were just bad luck. We're taking part in a trial that St Marys are carrying out to see if Progesterone has any effect in preventing mc. Half of the test group will be given a placebo, the other half progesterone. Apparently it's a large study involving 900 women who have had 3 or more mc and all tests have come back clear.

So it's crack on and see what happens next time. 5th time lucky? Hopefully for me. In the meantime I'm off to join the lovely jolls in Eeyores corner (with a crate of OBSB)

Love to all x

MummyAbroad · 15/03/2011 16:15

Welcome back Ali, hi tigger

I am feeling horrendously sick now, I am pretty much glued to the sofa all day and bored silly. Off to the docs tommorrow to ask for some medication to have at the ready in case it all gets worse like last time.

AandR and wiggle How are you doing?

love to everyone xxx

nickstermum · 15/03/2011 12:26

(((hugs for wiggle))) :(

AliTheMinx · 15/03/2011 12:13

Hello Lovely Ladies

I am back! All OK as far as I can tell (7+4 today), but was literally starting to freak myself out and obsessing about having another MC, so decided to take a short break from MN..... am having another scan on Thurssday to see if there's a heartbeat and if sac has grown. Very anxious - and almost preparing mentally for the worst just in case. I think it's my way of coping.

Just wanted to send lots of love to everyone - especialy aandr and wiggle - my heart goes out to you both

tiggersreturn · 15/03/2011 11:59

after 8 weeks of being tonythetyger if anyone's confused

tiggersreturn · 15/03/2011 11:59

have returned to something approaching previous name - thanks for the regards freezing. Still doing ok but rather nervous. Welcome to all the new people. I still expect to join you imminently.

randomimposter · 15/03/2011 09:49

a big sad squeeze for AandR and wiggle.

wave to everyone else... from Eeyore corner.

MummyAbroad · 15/03/2011 00:40

wiggle I'm sorry it didnt work out. Sad I think your DD sounds just adorable, I am glad she is giving you some comfort. "Why is the grief of miscarriage so isolating?" such a great question. I hate it that I didnt know anything about mc's before it happened to me, that nobody I spoke to after knew anything at all (or anything useful) and that its still so taboo and difficult to talk about. That extra isolation and loneliness seems so needless too - why cant the world get a bit more educated and learn to help women who are going through it? Big hug for you xxx

Freezingmyarseoff · 14/03/2011 23:04

wiggle so sorry to hear your sad news, big hug for you.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 14/03/2011 22:19

((( wiggle ))) I'm so so sorry Sad MC can be a horrendously lonely time, I know - I hope you continue to get lots of lovely cuddles from your dd to ease the pain a little xxx

tonythetyger · 14/03/2011 22:06

Wiggle - really sorry to hear your news. I hope the next one is much stickier.

getawiggleon · 14/03/2011 21:59

Thanks again for all your lovely supportive messages. You're a lovely bunch and I don't know what I'd do without this board Smile

HCG down to 12 today so this one hasn't stuck unfortunately Sad. Feeling much better this eve though as the hormones seem to have calmed down (although felt v sad entering 'miscarriage' into ff after chart previously showed 'pregnant'. No more staring at that chart for a while I think)

We'll prob go ahead with immune testing at clinic now but probably leave it at that for now. I'm going to check out recurrent buns thread too.

It was so lovely feeling pregnant for two days Sad. I'm just hoping the bleeding will start soon so my cycle will get back on track again soon.

Struggling with reactions of others at the mo. My mum and DH don't really know how to act around me and keep trying to help but somehow making me feel worse by saying the wrong things. Why is the grief of miscarriage so isolating? Don't think I'm helping matters and communicating very well though which can't be helping. DD has been the best, she just turned to me over breakfast, stroked my arm, then took my hand and said 'snuggle cuddle'. That's all I needed today, no awkward, complicated, adult words or emotions.

Big waves to all and hugs to all in need of them tonight. I'll be back to do more personal catch up soon xx

batteryhen · 14/03/2011 19:28

What an awful start to the week for some:( A and R I am so so sorry for you, there are no words that can take away the awful pain when this happens. You are amongst people that sadly understand. I hope you are getting lots of TLC xx

wiggle I would love you to log on and say it is all fine, but am also aware that that may not be the case.I am thinking of you xx

jolls arse and bollocks to CD1. I think that sums it up.

freezing that is a hopeful and nice story :)

Big waves to everyone - I don't really feel like doing a big name check - too sad for everyone today :(

Nothing happening here, back from germany - back to work - boo. Hope everyone is ok xxx

Youremindmeofthebabe · 14/03/2011 19:08

wiggleSad Thinking of you x

MummyAbroad · 14/03/2011 17:44

Sad big hug for Wiggle

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 14/03/2011 17:21

Oh wiggle Sad I still hope you are wrong but appreciate that you're not getting much cause for hope with the signs. (((hugs))) x

getawiggleon · 14/03/2011 16:16

Dropping in briefly for quick update. Still waiting for blood results but not holding out any hope, temp dropped this morning and I've been spotting so just waiting for my body to start going through the motions really.

Will post more later xx
