The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

Thanks ladies for all your responses, I agree with you, I should try and get progesterone from GP first and if she says yes then I will bin the trial. Just need to get diffed now!

bee how much was the cost of testing with Shehata if you dont mind me asking? How did you get on at GP's today?

Ali lovely news, so pleased for you Smile sending lots of sticky vibes x

freezing pate, stinky cheese and vino sound good, come on over! How are you doing today? I know it's pretty pants being so poorly but you can have a well earned break from ttc and get back to it with renewed vigour in a few weeks! Grin

AliTheMinx · 17/03/2011 15:13

Helloooooo and superhugs to ladybee, aandr, mouse and wiggle - you are all very much in my thoughts.

I had my second reassurance scan this morning and we saw our little one and the heartbeat flickering away. Everything measured just fine. I was so overwhelmed and wept tears of joy/relief. I will only be 8 weeks tomorrow so still a very long way to go and still anxious and paranoid that something could go wrong, but definitely encouraged and feeling slightly more positive that maybe, just maybe, this little bean will make it.......

MummyAbroad · 17/03/2011 13:34

YRMOTB I'd say early ov too - but you cant really count on it untill you get three high temps in a row. Dont forget sometimes a second egg is released too - so it might be worth a "just in case" shag.Grin

batteryhen · 17/03/2011 09:52

babe hard to tell with the random odd temp but I think it does look likely. I actually did the same - not temping but did one odd temp and it was in my post ov range. I usually OV on cd15 but was cd17 this month. So yes - I think you may have OV early. Hope you got enough SWI in xxx

Will post later - am working xx

Youremindmeofthebabe · 17/03/2011 08:41

A question for charters.

Normally ov around day 20-22. This month I got a + OPK on Monday- cd 16/17 ( it was nearly pos on 16 and 17 am, and now is negative again. I haven't been BBT'ing, but took my temp this am as pretty sure that I Ov'd, and it was high, def in the post-ov area for me. Pre-ov is usually 36.1, and post-ov more than 36.4. Today's temp at CD19 was 36.6. Do we reckon I've ov'd early?

That sounds like a good idea, ladybee. When Is it you actually go, was it September time?I used to have cracking lip corners which can indicate B vitamin deficiency, so take a B-complex. Plus I'm part time veggie which doesn't help with B-vit levels.

Ladybee · 16/03/2011 23:39

I have this terrible feeling that I've typed a message to AandR and wiggle regarding your losses but never posted it. So sorry - I wasn't ignoring them/you, I've been thinking of you both these last few days.

Mouse I really really hope that everything settles down for you both workwise and healthwise. This must be so very difficult to cope with, I'm sure you're keeping it together to get through the appointments etc but I hope you're letting it all out regularly.

I'm off to the GP tomorrow, going to ask for a couple of vitamin tests - D and B12 - have had a history of B12 deficiency in the past and just want to check it out, D is a potential MC risk and I think worth checking out. Also had a response from Dr Shehata's PA about getting an appt with him. Think I can squeeze it in before I go, although not sure I can afford it - the move is looking more and more expensive as it gets closer [eek!] Will try to remember to do another test tomorrow, see whether those hormones are retreating yet.

Freezingmyarseoff · 16/03/2011 22:13

Thanks mummyA

Velvetcu · 16/03/2011 21:39

mouse I'm sooo angry about your ht!! I only spoke to hr when I was off and luckily for me she had had an mc so knew what I was going through. Are the union going to contact your school? Your ht cannot be allowed to do this!

Hellooo to everyone else.

nickstermum · 16/03/2011 21:17

FFS situation obviously!

nickstermum · 16/03/2011 21:16

(((mouse)))) :( sorry for your neverending shitty sitituation, both in hosp and at work :(

BB have already commented, do whats right for you xxx Glad you are happy with the 'healthy' result, but totally get your lack of explanation!

tiggersreturn · 16/03/2011 21:00

Mouse - glad to hear you've got support.

Waves briefly to everyone else.

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 20:47

Hope the antibiotics get your sorted out quickly. Get well soon xxx

Freezingmyarseoff · 16/03/2011 20:37

x posts, great news MummyA

I'm still trying to work out what SMEP stands for? Any suggestions?

Freezingmyarseoff · 16/03/2011 20:34

oh mouse just rest up as much as you can. I'm glad your union is going to back you up. Well done for phoning them. hug and a squeeze for you

And hugs to A&R and Wiggle*

BB I agree with MummyA, you must do what you feel right regards the trials.

Welcome ZamMummy

How are you feeling today MummyA?

LadyBee how are you too? Hope you did do something fun at the weekend.

Well this month and probably the next few are out for me, been put on oral antibiotics after the IV ones in hospital, and they're not good for getting pregnant. Plus I need to have a x-ray in a couple of months to check my chest infection is all cleared up and it's probably best that I go ahead with that so if you don't mind I'll join jolls and BB in the corner with the OBSB. I'll bring some canapes - thinking pate, stinky cheese, sushi. Oh bugger it I'll just go straight for a strong G n'T

Waves to Chloe, Ali, Tigger, Moo, Izzy, Battery, YRMOTB, Loola, Pinkie and all xx

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 20:32

Cheers YRMOTBGrin good luck for catching the egg this month xxxx

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 20:30

woop woop yey for mummya!

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 20:17

mouse horray for the Union taking your side! Glad you have a great consultant on your side too. Dont forget HSG's give your pipes a clean, so if it comes to that then just lie back and think of the jetwash bonus effect Smile

Looks like my jetwashed pipes did a good job - beany seems to have landed square in the centre of my uterus where (we hope) there is nice healthy endometrium! Scan showed perfect growth for dates and heartbeat of 120 - so all good and normalGrin I even got some meds for this debilitating all day sickness I have been having, just waiting for them to kick in and then all will be right with the worldSmile

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 20:13

now not know

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 20:12

Oh dear, mouse. Sorry you were hospitalised, that must have been awful for you. Even more sorry that your boss is such an Arse to even be suggesting home meetings etc after what you've been through. Glad to hear the union is on your side though, although there shouldn't be any reason why they wouldn't, but it's nice to know.

bb I agree with the others. You need to do what's right for you. This research will gop ahead whether you participate or not, and if it's an option to get the treatment without the placebo risk then...

Waves to ali and zam Nice to saee you both back. Good luck for the scan ali.

All's well over here, had a +opk yesterday morning so busy busy, when I haven't been securing the house so it now resembles Fort Knox after the recent attempted break-in. We know have secure by design handles and anti-snap locks. The joys.

How's you jolls? Not too much in <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=image64.webshots.com/164/2/25/86/534122586Cfqdfc_ph.jpg&imgrefurl=family.webshots.com/photo/1534122586074256231Cfqdfc&usg=__Zc0cs9Pm8T8vW9qJnWH-qaiwiF0=&h=600&w=800&sz=76&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=zy8ZTehBBmg5SM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=144&ei=zhiBTeeJAoO1hAeaw_SmBw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Deeyore%2Bgloomy%2Bplace%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DFsx%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D532%26tbs%3Disch:1%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=928&vpy=75&dur=420&hovh=192&hovw=257&tx=126&ty=97&oei=zhiBTeeJAoO1hAeaw_SmBw&page=1&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">the gloomy place, I hope

tigger yey for the scan news!

waves to all, chloe, mummya, izzy, mamap, nix, caribmoo, and everyone else.

mousebacon · 16/03/2011 19:17

Thanks again ladies, I phoned the union today and they've told me just to concentrate on getting better and not to worry about work. She saw no grounds for capability on the info I gave her and described my ht as 'unreasonable' She said they'd support me all the way. I don't even know why she wants to see me.

Medically Im booked in for a follow up scan next week then if there's anything left the consultant will come and discuss my options. She's keen not to rush into surgery and mentioned I may require an hsg - oh the joy!

She's one of the top, top people so I feel confident with her decisions.

CaribouMoo · 16/03/2011 17:10

Sorry, but what the fuck is going on with bold every time I post on here!

CaribouMoo · 16/03/2011 17:06

BB just said as much on FB but I totally agree with MummyA. You need to do what's right for you and no one in their right mind would think you selfish for not wanting to risk another MC.

Mouse sorry to hear you've been back in hospital. I'm incensed again about your boss! I bet you didn't even have time to talk to the union or HR about it either with being unwell again. Definitely refuse the meeting and get your GPs suppport, seeing her is the last thing you need.

Jolls big cuddle for you pal x

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 13:45

mouse so sorry to hear about the bleed and hospitalisation, and I am even more worried to hear that your boss is still pushing you to focus on work when she should be backing off and giving you space to recover. I think its a great idea to refuse the meeting and say its on doctors orders. Do you have a friendly GP? Can you explain the situation and get him to write a sick note specifically stating no visitors? I think getting HR involved is a great idea too. Can you email them? Hope you find the strength to tell her to bugger off. Sometimes you only need to put your foot down once and people get the message. Hugs xxx

BB if it was me, I would read all the details about the trial, try to keep an open mind and then after that if I felt in my heart going straight for the progesterone with the GP (or even private) would be less risk I would do it with no guilt whatsoever. No one in the world believes that anyone who has suffered as much as you have has "owes" women anything in the way advancing research. Your goal is to have a baby, not to help advance medical research. Of course if you feel that you have "nothing to lose" thats different, and it would be worth your while participating for the advantage it might bring to you.

Welcome back ZamMummy we have a list over here if you want to add yourself in. xxx

tiggersreturn · 16/03/2011 11:43

Mouse - do you have any HR function to try and keep your boss in check? I think you should try informing them of this together with the info that if more of this continues the consequences are likely to be a lengthy stress-related leave.

brokenbarrenbrook · 16/03/2011 11:36

jolls I dunno how I feel if I'm honest, I'm happy, very happy in fact, there's nothing wrong, I'm just a bit miffed that there's no explanation. I'm thinking now that as much as I would like to take part in the trial, am I effectively putting myself at risk in case I get a placebo when I could beg the GP to prescribe me cyclogest anyway? And then I know I'll be at least doing something. Does that make sense? As much as the trial will be of benefit to other women, do I want to risk having a 5th mc for the sake of research? I don't know if I do if I'm honest. Selfish as it sounds, I've been through enough.

mouse Jesus, sounds like you've been through the mill again, hope you're doing ok now? You should def tell your boss you've been told no visitors and you'll call her when you feel up to it. Is that something you can do? x
