The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2011 20:03

lol at you never need a coat. I think I am the geordie exception. There's gotta be one, right?

I've been in a right old state today. Crying my eyes out over uni work. what a wuss. Still, I've just had a minor breakthrough over it, and its my bday on Friday, so not all bad. Testing day on Sunday which is when my party is, so it'll be my party and i'll cry if I want to. Hope you're all well.

mousebacon · 23/02/2011 19:55

Right back at you mummy Smile

battery she told me today she's retiring at the end of march but to let the girls know when I had that baby. I'm gutted she's going! Fancy a move to Tyneside? The weather's always sunny (you never need a coat) and we are all v friendly Smile

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 19:47

good that you are getting you bloods done mouse its always much better to get as much info as you can IMO

batteryhen · 23/02/2011 19:08

Thanks mummy :)

mouse glad your nurse is so nice - most of them are you know Grin

mousebacon · 23/02/2011 18:43

I can see I'm joining the party rather late here but woohoo mummy !!

I'm going to grab a chair and wait it out with the others too Grin

Been for my own bloods today and might get the results as early as tomorrow. I'll be interested to know what my levels are. I'd ovulated by this many days post erpc last time! Grr!

Sorry for cd1 battery it's the shittiest feeling when AF comes. Have you got some Wine in the house? My practice nurse was lovely today btw. She took my blood in her lunch hour. I love her!

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 18:34

Battery big hugs for CD1, I was still holding out hope that you would take this journey with meSad. Red blood is very good, the more the better. As you know pre-surgery I didnt have any periods, but lots of ladies with AS who did had only brown blood for a day or two, and didnt need much more than a panty liner. Red blood is very very promising. hope you have some CD1 treats planned xxx

batteryhen · 23/02/2011 18:29

Yes. You are very normal. Pee all you like, re-check old sticks all you like :) After all you have been through I say pee woman pee. Grin

Just a qucikie from me - CD1 today had a weep in the car, but have now cuddled my very loving cat (absence of DP) and now feel better. Also (TMI) blood is red and a bit more than it has been before. (that sounds positive doesn't it mummyoracle ?)

Am also going to join in the sleep over and get out my sleeping bag and thermos flask with yummy tomato soup

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 18:18

I cant put the pee sticks down, I am carrying them around the house and obsessively checking them every 5 minsBlushBlush Is this normal?

4 to 5 hours, plus 5 hour time change?

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 15:55

I'm off now, results usually take a 4 or 5 hours for quantative (which I am going to do) so I should get them some time this afternoon (late at night your time) Smile

see you later xxx

Velvetcu · 23/02/2011 15:48

When are you getting tested mummya? do you get the results straight away?? I'm more excited for you than I am for me! Grin Grin

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 15:33

Right, blood test it is then. I think I will use the same excuse as for everyday testing, if i dont do it, I will just spend the whole blinking day thinking about doing it.

'Tis one of the advantages of living in a third world country, anything that has low raw materials costs and just involves manual labour is really cheap. Scans are only about £25 too, but the ones I tend to get are by better doctors and therefore £35-50

loola2shus · 23/02/2011 15:10

Yay!!! Fantastic news mummya Absolutely thrilled for you! Grin and a line is a line lady!

getawiggleon · 23/02/2011 15:10

Mummy I know how you feel. Men tend to see things in black and white more than we do - either you're pregnant or you're not, they can't deal with the faint pink grey bits in between. And I've found with DH that he doesn't need to know all the little ins and outs with ttc (eugh, I've just realised that that sounds like a terrible pun!)
After all the counselling etc that you've been through etc it would be nice to give him a definite result rather than the roller-coaster of faint lines etc. Plus peace of mind for you too.

Is there anyway you could sneak down to clinic for blood test? Crikey, if blood tests cost the same as hpts do here and were as readily available as that I'd be in there every week!

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 14:57

wiggle DH has already been primed with "I am cutting down drinking drastically for TTC" He did ask about when I was going to test and I said I was going to wait for AF Shock he has never seen my stock pile of OPK/HPT's so he actually believed meShockShockGrin

To be honest, I am nervous about telling him as TTC has been such a big issue in the past. I am like you though, I wont be able to keep it a secret for long.

Would it be riduculous to get a blood test this early? Blush the whole feint line thing is making me feel like a fraud, as it seems so inconclusive.

getawiggleon · 23/02/2011 14:47

Ooh, ooh, I've just been doing a bit of googling on your behalf and lots of people seem to say faint cheapie = strong line on FR too! How exciting!! I'm made up for you !

It would be lovely to tell your dh over dinner. I don't think I'd be able to keep it a secret any longer than that though. And how would you explain away not having a glass of vino on your birthday?!! Does he know when you'd expect to test? My dh is blardy useless in that sense (asks if I'm pregnant/ have tested at 2dpo etc).

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 14:32

oooh, you are making it all seem real! Good to know feint line on a cheapie = strong line on a FR

wigglewhomakesmegiggle Yes, I do have more than one brand and yes I just weed on the other one. Feint line like the first one. No first response out here but I can walk down to the clinic at the end of my road and get a blood test. 7 quid for yes or no answer and 15 quid for quantative HCG. I will definitely monitor the HCG at some point but probably still a bit early no?

Now I am thinking maybe I should tell DH later... he is coming back for lunch and we are going out for dinner (from 5pm to 7pm due to baby sitting restrictions Confused) so it could be a good time. oooooohh feel really nervous about telling him in case its too early and turns out to be chemical and once I tell him it means its REAL.

you guys are all fantastic by the way, so glad to have all your support! xxxxx
