boa ff says i'm due on tomorrow. So there's no point til then, but if af doesn't show i'm waiting til Sunday. If I can make it that long. Chances are she'll be here before then.

tigger that's good advice, I never knew that. dacha I hope you get something sorted, she sounds a right pita. Has she decided she wants holiday then too? How's she going to be able to justify that? Hugs, it's just what you don't need, hey.

I agree, the temping can't be helping everyone who's updiffed nix(waves madly) it's such a roller oaster even without fluctuating temps adding to thetrauma!

I am knackered, had a super long day with ds and he's just got to bed, so it's bath and bed for me!

Are you poasing tomorrow mamap? X

Loads of spelling mistakes in that but too lazy to correct on my iPhone. Sorry all.

tigger15 · 12/01/2011 20:17

Dachs sorry to hear about your boss. Speaking as an employer (one nanny) and a lawyer (although not an employment one), legally if your employer wants to they can make you take off holiday at a set time for up to 2 weeks of holiday (needs to be in your contract) but they can't make it impossible for you to take any time off. If they do so they're in contravention of the Working Time Regulations. Saying which my contract has always had a provision saying they could make me cancel my leave if the business needed me (never exercised thankfully).

I don't know what area you work in and if it's the sort of culture where people are expected to cancel holidays because of work. If it isn't it may be worth listing every single holiday request and refusal, and try and pin her down to some dates. Is it just you who is treated like this? If so it may be worth getting HR involved (if they're not completely useless). I'd recommend posting on the employment board and asking for Flowerybeanbag and Ribena. They give very good advice.

I hope the stress doesn't affect the IVF.

wow i only missed a couple of hours, busy night tonight.

wiggles i'm glad you're feeling better today. I have a load of cheapy ebay opk's left over from before. i must have just been testing on the wrong days. am planning on starting tomorrow, i must be able to catch the right day if i remember to do it every day. Grin

wombat i'm glad you have a rl friend to talk to and that you're feeling better. Sorry to ask if it hurts/worries you but what genetic abnormalities are you worried about? is it an age thing or would be a concern anyway? That is definately blunt of the specialist.

mummya that's great news, so pleased for you.
Dach sorry they've not grown as much as you wanted but surely it's positive they're still retreiving the eggs?? wouldn't they put it off if not enough?? sorry don't know enough about ivf. Sorry you're boss is being a complete tosser, agree with others go to personel and do you have a union rep??

orange i'm glad bleeding has slowed down. not sure what to advise about the scan, it's best to do what feels right for you. I'm still suprised that epu wouldn't do a scan sooner, i know obviously less chance of a h/beat the earlier but it might have eased some worrying.

my news is my af seems to have stopped completely now, am now looking forward to getting this show on the road (or bed/sofa/stairs/anywhere my back can cope.) Grin

again sorry if i've missed anyone.

nickstermum · 12/01/2011 19:47

Dachs sorry, your boss is a cow! They surely cannot legally say you cant take hols off for 8 months of the year....? Cant you raise a grievance or something? Just not waht you need!!

mummy yay for the op/ttc x
mama did i see that your offer was accepted? FAB are you pliz? Shame about your ivory :(

wiggles what did i miss about menapause?

Owl it would seem for def that your private scan was a better one than my nhs one! The sonographer uttered, babys there, hearts beating. Then as i left in tears saying thankyou...ra ra ra.. she said 'well today baby is fine' as if well tomorrow 'baby wont be' GREAT reassurance that huh?!

DIFFED-PEEPS step away from the thermometre......!!!!! sounds like is contributing to the mentalling. xx

waves to allxxx

Wonders if AR made it safely to briz or if she is being evac!

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 19:33

wow nix that really is a positive story!

BackOnceAgain · 12/01/2011 19:32

MummyA yay for list magic, glad there is a silver lining and all Smile And yes you are right I am a cheapo tester, prefer them to be honest, but I was just...so..tempted...but...I..put..CB...back..on..the..shelf Grin

YRMOTB Ahh, a sign! I have bad guts too but seriously the boob thing is a pmt sign for me, 10 months out of 12 I get it. When are you poas? No testing for me til Sat or I'll be waiting for the foul stench and slimy scales of the aquatic one. It is simply not worth it for me until then.

DAchs what a foul boss Angry

Wombat gah, 'they' don't know everything, but I feel your worry nonetheless Sad

Merry evening all Smile

nickstermum · 12/01/2011 18:57

Wombo a lady on another fred has just been to epu with no symptoms, time booked off work as she was convinced she had MC and is expecting identical twins....so you never know.....!

nickstermum · 12/01/2011 18:55

Grin at the cow pat.. chicken shit smells worse!

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/01/2011 18:52

Sorry to hear about the chance of genetic abnormalities wombat Sad but remember 50-50 means you've just as much chance of things being ok as not. So try and think about the "glass half full" side of things IYSWIM.

You don't sound like a lunatic by the way Smile

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 18:08

Orange stopping is probably the sensible thing to do! Re scans - only you can know whether you can hold out for 22nd. If all is going well by then then you should be far enough along for the NHS and the private sonographers to see that clearly. and as you say, if there's any doubt, you can get the private one done as back-up (even book it now if you think there's going to be a waiting list and the cancellation policy allows you to cancel and avoid getting charged?). If you feel you can't hold out that long then maybe it's woorthwhiole for your nerves to have the private one a little sooner.

Getdown 'only' one MC. But I'm the one with the 50/50 chance of genetic abnormalities in any pg that sticks, so I think that's making me even more antsy. The rather blunt geneticists kindly told me they have no idea 'what else might be wrong with me' so of course in my mind I've translated that into 'maybe I'm incapable of carry a pg to term' Blush Blush Honestly, writing it all down I sound like a complete lunatiic even to myself!! Grin

Right, I'm sorry for hogging the thread today ladies but you have all made me feel heaps better than I did earlier

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/01/2011 17:56

Well TTC does have the tendency to drive even perfectly balanced, sensible normal people into obsessed crazed lunatics (or is that just me) so you have my sympathies. It's very stressful.

How many MCs have you had? (if you don't mind me asking) I think after 3 you can get investigations on the NHS can't you?

OrangeGloss · 12/01/2011 17:54

Thanks Owl I'm worried I'll have my scan on 22rd and they'll tell me it's over because they missed something I could always wait and keep it as an option for 2nd opinion if I'm worried

Wombat and Getdown I don't know much about temps, would it be worth having a break from it? Sorry, just a suggestion x

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 17:51

Not sure, I thought about not doing it this morning but then did anyway. That said, I'm getting so little sleep with worrying that I'm not sure they are valid readings anyway. I keep thinging I might be better without the themometer, the pee sticks and possibly MN, but on the other hand they are also the props keeping me sane! In the same way, I keeping wondering about going private to get blood tests and find out if everything is going as it should so far, but then wonder whether if it's not, I'd rather not know. would allow me to start putting things in order to get tests/investigations done though... I have generally concluded that I'm a bit of a hopeless individual when it comes to this Blush I think the people who know me in RL would be astonished as I'm normally relatively sane together.

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/01/2011 17:40

thanks wombat you too! Do you think you are going to carrying on with the temp taking? Don't know whether to or not as it's stressing me out!!

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 17:37

Getdown I'm sending you very positive, sticky vibes!

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/01/2011 17:13

Oh I know what you mean! My temps had gone up to 36.95 but were down to 36.67 today Sad I really hope it's going to be ok.

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 17:09

Oh and I had some brown CM two days ago but nothing since.

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 17:08

10%? That sounds good. I just hope it implanted properly! I was going to the loo lots and my boobs became a little bit sore and possibly a bit bigger, but seem to have deflated again over the last couple of days. I also had uncomfy [implantation?] pains for a few days over AF due date and a very little bit of nausea about a week ago. but nothing now. My temps have also dropped steadily 5 days in a row (from 37+ to 36.74, which is still above the coverline but looks quite a dramatic sustained drop on my chart!). FX it's just still too early!

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/01/2011 17:03

thanks wombat me too. I keep worrying when I go to the loo, that I am going to wipe and find red Sad

Trying to think positive though. Apparently chances of MC after implantation is only 10%.

Hope your symptoms come back soon too. Are yuo feeling anything today? Did you have symptoms before today?

owlbooty · 12/01/2011 16:59

Orange Beard Mill was absolutely lovely - the doctor is incredibly nice and sensible and her equipment is top notch - I even got to see the bean in 3D and got lots of piccies. Highly recommended :) BUT - if you can hang on until 8 weeks or so you might get a better idea of what is going on. You could always ring and ask if you can have a quick chat with her to work out best time to visit. I hung on until 9 and a half weeks.

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 16:58

Hugs Getdown. I'm hoping both our symptoms will return with a vengeance tomorrow (plus the belching, bloating, puking and other lovely things that have been wished on me tooday!!)

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/01/2011 16:55

Just popping in, sorry not to name check you all, but just wanted to offer some solidarity to wombat as I am in the same boat - newly pregnant after MC, and terrified by my lack of symptoms today (have been feeling quite sicky up until now).

Wretched MC, making this preg so much more anxiety-filled than when I was pregnant with DD! (don't think I'd even tested yet by now first time round!)

Mamapower · 12/01/2011 16:53

dachs your boss is unrealistic, total control freak and a complete and utter arse! Go off sick... You'll be stressed for sure, book the hol, go to gp day or so before turn on taps and say you can't cope and hey presto one sick note will be yours! I wouldn't normally advocate this sly behaviour but u must look after number 1 sometimes! Also, because you'll be signed off with stress, if she found out you'd gone on hol u can say u needed it to unwind!!

Sat in dentists as temporary crown flew out in middle of a board meet! Happy days!

OrangeGloss · 12/01/2011 16:47

Thanks Dachs it's something to think about. Maybe if I wanted a second opinion I could book myself in after. My results are out 15th Feb which is my birthday :(

I do hope you can't go on hols, for the right reason :)

MummyAbroad · 12/01/2011 16:42

orange I agree with Izzy that the NHS is better if you have something complicated/dangerous, they can whizz you off to the right department, get you on the right machine etc. BUT for a simple early pregnancy scan where the main goal is reassurance I would say private is better. As Dach said, you get treated differently. You are more of a client than a patient. 8-9 weeks would be better than 7 though, as at 7 it could still be too early to see a heartbeat. Dont forget to ask how fast the heart is beating if you do get to hear it. Best of luck xxx
