In the spirit of believing the CB Digi result, I've called my doctor to tell them I'm pg and made an appointment for Monday. Eek.

Wombat33 · 04/01/2011 17:27

Happy new year Jiggle, Emoo and Back!

Jiggle so glad to hear the bleeding's stopped. I hope your scan tomorrow is all cllear and you get the okay to get back on the TTC bandwagon.

Emoo I'm keeping everything crossed for you that DH stays enthusiastic. I'm afraid that before all my TTC traumas I may have been guilty of asking a friend when/whether she planned a second. It was more out of making conversation with friends who were parents - a world I knew nothing about at the time - and trying to show interest in their lives. I realise now of course that I should never ask and will never again (my mother, who didn't know we had been ttc/I had been pg gave me a kindly lecture on 'not leaving it too late to start a family' the day after my MC Confused, but it was kindly meant at the time. I did see a thread on here that suggested that being quite blunt is the best way to put a stop to the questions. Never had the nerve myself [yet!].

Back fab on the access course!! Keep thinking I should take up something new to dilute my attention from mentalling about TTC Grin

Hello and Happy New Year everyone (if anyone remembers me at all?) GrinSo I am making like my nickname, which I am taking off the MIA list as we just started SWI after waiting for the WTF cycle and the headf**k of the MMC last Aug.
Basically I am ready to TTC, bring it on Grin Grin

Nickster and Wombat and orange congrats Smile

Big hellos to Izzy, MamaP, MummyA (been following your Ash op story, so glad for you things are working out) YRMOTB knitter Hairy (so sorry, glad you areback and ready to ttc though) and everyone else from August onwards.

Hi to all the newer people too and, of course, sorry you are here in the first place.

I'll reintroduce myself as having had MMC in August at nearly 17 weeks. I went back to 'school' in Sept as a way of trying to make something good come out of the awfulness and I'm doing well on my access course.

I'm going to do the list...

Emoo · 04/01/2011 17:11

Haha, I can only wish my memory was that good!! No, it takes a lot of scrolling! I was just having a mammoth catch-up as I have been missing for a while..

I hate the questions you mention too. DD is 7, and I've been dealing with these questions for about 5 years now. At first it was okay because we genuinely didn't consider another until she was about 4 (she was prem and we didn't want to risk going through similar again so soon), but more recently I've struggled to cope and have ended up muttering some sort of trite answer and looking awkward and wishing the ground would swallow me up.

jigglebum · 04/01/2011 16:53

Emoo what an amazing post - how do you remember everyone so well - it is so nice that you respond to everyone. I am now determined to try harder to do the same! I blame it on my ability to skim read very fast but clearly it does not help with retaining details!

HK I too am surrounded by friends who are either pregnant or just had a second. And it is hard when people ask that question - "and when are you having another one" or as one rather blunt friend of DHs seems to say everytime we see them - "isn't is about time you popped out another"!!

Emoo · 04/01/2011 16:44

Izzy - glad you are sounding positive about 2011. I hope your sister is okay. I wouldn't have thought they would remove a tube unless there was positive evidence of an ectopic in it?? I have heard that even if you lose a tube, your chances of pregnancy don't reduce to 50% as you might imagine. It's something like 70% of normal, but they don't really understand why.

Orange - (((big hugs for you))). Waiting is horrible, and all the more so if you are feeling ill. I hope the others are right, and your dates are just a bit out because of late ovulation.

Wombat - congrats on your BFPs. Step away from the thermometer!!!

YRMOTB - how on earth can you have chocolate in the house and not eat it?? You must have will of steel!

MamaP - hope you are surviving work.

Pink - sending positive thoughts your way ++++++++++, hope your return to work was not too traumatic today. Bellringing sounds fun!

Ochaye, Hadrian, mwlsen, jiggle and any newcomers from the old thread that I've missed - sorry you find yourself here, and big hugs and sympathy for having your MC, especially with the timing over Christmas and New year. It's hard when everyone else is celebrating. Hadrian - I agree - not yet in fit mental state to detox. Your meal sounds lovely. Ochaye - when I was off post-miscarriage, I had to fill in a self-certificate, and had to ring the nature of the problem from a list of choices. I ringed "pregnancy-related" and am now paranoid they think I am pregnant when I'm not. I think it depends on your employer. If you get a certificate from GP, you can ask them to put something vague on, like "gynaecological problem", which I guess would stop further questions.

Nix - congrats on the scan - lovely news, and I hope that the remainder of your stay in the danger zone is uneventful.

MummyA - hoorahh for coil removal. I am thinking of moving myself to TTC rather than WTTC as well... but don't know if that will tempt fate and make DH blow colder...

A&R - oooh tidy house? Lovely holiday coming up? Can we swap lives?

Hiding - my temp goes up with alcohol too.. I tend to ignore it, but I do admit to previously not having drunk near ov time so as not to create a false temp rise! Nut roast sounds nice... although I have never tried it.

Mouse - yum! Thanks for the fudge.

Ladybee - am with you on not temping after O. In theory anyway. In practice, I always do.. as am desperately seeking further rise...! I have never had pregnancy symptoms before BFP either. Fingers crossed that AF is staying away this time. My suspenders are on for you!

Dachs - wow, what an unfortunate tale. I hope your super duper follicles are a sign that your luck has changed!

Zam - hope you are enjoying Botswana! Xmas Envy. Your MC was the day before mine... hope you are doing okay.

Loola - what on earth did you say to DS in response to his comment? My DD has said similar to me in the past, and it was a double blow to the self-esteem, although rather funny and bittersweet at the same time. LOL - I scan-read your post and thought you were donning thermal knicks for a moment!

HK - I do so know what you mean about friends popping out sprogs all over the place... kind of turns me into a split personality - happy for them, sad for me, slightly green with envy, encouraged that it's possible, discouraged that it's not me, etc. etc.

Hairy - sorry you are back in this situation, but glad you feel able to move here from the MC threads.

Choccy - perhaps tell your other half that you are not SWI, but that shagging is a necessary part of your diet and exercise regime???

Owl - sending positive thoughts for your scan.

DaddysGirl - in the WTF cycle, anything can happen I believe... are you temping? I was warned by the nurse that the first period post-MC can be a "humdinger"... and even though mine was not heavy at any point, I found the bleeding very distressing as it seemed like a constant reminder of what had happened in November.

katherine, wellie, loopy - welcome to you all of you too. Loopy, I'm sure you're not mad. I think many of us lie awake at night from time to time...

kat - I've not been in your position yet, but I imagine it will hit pretty hard, as I had been looking forward to having my mat leave in the early summer months, mental imagery of sitting in sunny garden sipping herbal tea, etc.

jigglebum · 04/01/2011 16:35

Afternoon everyone and a belated Happy New year to you all. Can't believe that 4 days of being away has resulted in 10 pages of chat to catch up on! As a result I can't quite remember enough to offer such fab individual advice and positivity as so many of you can. May also reflect the fact that the last 3 days have been spent mostly in bed surviving only on Lemsip so feeling rather light headed. 2011 has not started well - caught the dreaded lurgy and DS still ill too, but feeling better today and inlaws have taken DS for the day so I have spent it in bed.

Good news is I think I have finally finished bleeding (2 weeks after mc). I was beginning to think it would never end. I have a scan tomorrow to check everything has cleared. Being in bed for most of 3 days has given me a good chance to reflect on things, as my mc happened just before Christmas I felt I did not have much time to think about it as we were so busy and people did not know. I am feeling sad but fairly philosophical about it now and hoping to be able to get back on the TTC bandwagon soon. I just hope it happens quicker this time (took 10 months before) and I know, like you ladies with BFPs that I will be terrified when I am pregnant that it will happen again.

Good luck to all of you waiting for scans - hope everything is ok for you all.

Apologies for yet another self centred post - I promise to do better next time!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 04/01/2011 16:31

Just popping in to see if there's any word from owl ? Hope it went well xx

Emoo · 04/01/2011 15:19

Afternoon all, and a belated Happy New Year!

I've not been around for a while, what with visiting family over Christmas then having to work over the new year weekend (which was a mixed blessing as I wasn't really feeling like celebrating anyway)..

Looks like we have some new people, so welcome, and so so sorry to hear of your losses and that you find yourself here. I think I'll re-introduce myself... We had been TTC#2, and I had a (first) MC in November. I have finally ovulated and had AF, but if I hadn't been charting I wouldn't have had a clue what was happening, as I spotted or bled for 3 weeks solid over Christmas and New Year. Nice Sad. My chart is here. I guess we all have our own issues with the TTC thing, and my particular one is that DH is not nearly as keen as I am. He blows hot and cold, but mainly cold, especially since the MC, which makes things very difficult.

Right, I'm off to catch up on the thread a bit now.. see you later!

KnitterNotTwitter · 04/01/2011 15:13

Thought i'd drop in on the (not so new any more) thread and say Hi and happy new year to you all.

No excitment here yet - feel not pregnant this month...... Sigh... But still a week to go before POAS...

nickstermum · 04/01/2011 15:04

No scan date yet orange the booking in was supposed to happen today but it got cancelled after the clinic roof collapsed! Hope its not an omen!!

OrangeGloss · 04/01/2011 14:55

Nix i missed your post earlier, I bet those 3 weeks are going to drag but you've had one good scan already? Good to hear the norks are still porn-like and that the nausea is at bay with eating. Do you have a scan date?

Wombat I'm glad you're listening to CB today, I have everything crossed for you

I hope everything's ok?

nickstermum · 04/01/2011 12:49

wombat you are doing great xxx better than i!

orange dont forget your immune system kind of shuts down when you fall pg Grin I got the lurgy at about 6 weeks and felt awful, but doc reminded me of that!! Even though you are poorly, and i'm sorry you feel rotten, hopefully its positive!! Grin

Wombat33 · 04/01/2011 12:25

Orange sorry to hear you're ill - on the bright side at least that (hopefully) means you can rest up and bit and not be dashing around at work. Hugs to combat the downward spiral. That's the downside of being at home - too much time to think and being ill is always going to make things seem worse than they are. Can you maybe get some sleep to rest and pass the time?

Nix thanks. I know, I know. I'm not very good at not mentalling as you all well know Blush will try very hard - though I'm actually quite a fan of Mamap's fish image Grin I am actively choosing to believe the CD digi today as it gives me the result I want. Thing is, I was so sure this wasn't going anywhere and had got some kind of peace with that, now I have hope again the zen is out of the window, but of course I'd much rather have it that way. Grin

OrangeGloss · 04/01/2011 11:51

Awesome catchup Wombat ! I am off ill and although I can't move it hasn't stopped me having a downward spiral of self pity [guilty emoticon] I know how lucky i am to even be in this position. I'm about to attempt some breakfast/lunch. Coughing really not helping stomach muscles!

I'd go by the CB Digi rather than FR. You could go mad examining and comparing lines, probably wouldn't stop me tho Grin

YRMOTB I'm sure not in vain, they'll all be comfy and waiting for when you do OV. Been meaning to try pilates...

nickstermum · 04/01/2011 11:48

Gosh so busy!

wombat im glad mama beat me to whacking you with the fish, as i was just about to!!

The FR tests are weak and wibbly, very skinny things anyway, my lines are teensy on them! Internet cheapies showed up much darker and thicker for me. Fab you have the CB digi showing at a higher HCG level, if that is not a little reassuring i dont know what is Grin

Now.... relax a little, try to stop mentalling, AF has not appeared, and the CB digi has said your levels have increased! So....feet up unless you are working, and try to not mental, or.....

this.. < comes out again (thanks mama) Grin

Gosh everyone is so creative... YRM into her quilt, AR into sewing (saw the dress btw, very creative!) Envy I got into knitting when i was pg 1, i remember sitting sunbathing in cyprus knitting awayGrin i would like to crochet, but cant remember how to do it.

AR hope you arent going to QL in oz! That flooding sounds hideous!

mummy fab you are getting your coil out, hope after the uterine fiddling/trauma/repair your uterus is quickly receptive to attaching a little fertilised bean!! Best get practising!! Grin

Oh i know i have missed out loads of people... to all the newbies, loopybear Katherine so sorry for your losses, and what you are going through, i hope your stay is short but sweet, and you pass through quickly with another fertilised bean x

I am fine. didnt sleep too well, was awake with backache... worrying myself! During last mc i had insomnia with backache!!! Symtoms of MC apparently! Also symptom of constipation my lovely DH reminds me... and i was getting crampy tummy last night with trapped wind TMI sorry Blush.. but the bowel is so near the uterus, sometimes its hard to differentiate! 3 more weeks til the danger zone ends..... ish! Am on daily countdown!! Other than that, feeling good, norks still porn like but nausea is kept under control by eating horse like portions of whatever i can stomach!! Still terrified of next scan........ but although i cant reember when the hb is detectable via doppler, i was hoping to have listened to it before then!

Wombat33 · 04/01/2011 11:42

Thanks YRMOTB - I've done a LOT of 'taking' from this thread in recent days so I wanted to make sure I was offering some support as well Smile. Hugs on the ov frustration - if you remember I was exactly the same this cycle - convinced it wasn't happening. I was obviously wrong and I hope you are too. Sending psitive ov vibes your way xxx

youremindmeofthebabe · 04/01/2011 11:31

Well done on that epic Catch-up wombat! Very impressive, puts me to shame!Blush

youremindmeofthebabe · 04/01/2011 11:30

Morning ladies! May be a brief one as I'm VVVVV busy at work and ideally, traffic permitting, off out to pilates tonight.

pink I think the temp shift doesn't happen till around 24-48 hours after ovulation, so not to worry.

I am on day 22 with no visibly obvious temp rise yet(normally ov day 20) so am abviouskly paranoid that i'm not ovulating this month and all my SWI will be in vainHmm paranoid, me?

Hello loopy and katherine

Right, new year, more desperation! I want a baby, NOW!

Nice to see you back mummy, how exciting!

Wombat33 · 04/01/2011 11:25

Thought it was time I changed back to my usual name though I will try to remain merry Grin

orestyemerrywombat · 04/01/2011 11:22

YRMOTB count me in for the detox!! I have been eating CRAP over Christmas (well since the MC in Sept really) and it can't be doing me any good at all. You've inspired me to go and buy some fruit at lunchtime to keep on my desk (to snack on - not just as an ornament Grin ) I will go and visit your other thread right after this.

Hairy!!!! 'Great' to have you back (in the nicest possible way - I dearly wish you had no need to come back but a glad you are back on the TTC train).

mwslen I'm so sorry to hear about your terrible 20100. Here''s hoping that 2011 is going to be a much better year for you xxx

Right - who else is out there that I've missed?!!?!?! Hello and happy and bean filled new years to you alll!! xxx

orestyemerrywombat · 04/01/2011 11:14

Orange hope you're managing to relax while you wait for your next bloods. (If you are - please share the secret because I'm crapp at it Wink ) My DH is the same as yours - trying to be the strong one. sometimes this makes it seems as if he doesn't care but I know that's not the case.

Loopybear welcome from another insomniac Grin. I'm so sorry for your losses. you'll find lots of support on here and however insane you feel you're going, one of us will always top it!!

Loola any luck with the thermal shift this morning?

Hadrian non-TTC 2011 activities sounds like a great plan. DH and I are thinking that if I'm not upduffed in April we might take a trip to Oz to escape royal wedding madness (and due date from first pg sadness - same day Sad). Northern Lights sounds fantastic - I'd hold him to that BFP or not!

Kat big hugs. Counselling sounds a good idea. Someone else on here went recently and found it really helpful. I can't remember who... I keep thinking I should take up the service offered by my local EPU after my MC but then keeping thinking I should be able to cope on my own Hmm

A&R and DaddysGirl - sewing eh? Very impressive! Perhaps I should make it a new year's resolution to rediscover my creative side. Grin

DaddysGirl where in your cycle are you? Is it time to test your DH's theory and POAS??

Wellie I can't remember whether I have welcomes you yet or not, but in case not, welcome to this lovely thread.

Nix how are you doing today my lovely?

Ochaye I keepp thinking about your poor friend, what a sad story. I hope she is doing okay. As for getting yourself checked out, I second what others have said, if you feel okay in yourself, bleeding stopped, temps normal, neg HPT etc then there's probably no need, but I'd def let the doc know and if they recommend it, or you feel in any way concerned then make an appointment, I'm sure they'd be happy to reassure you.

orestyemerrywombat · 04/01/2011 10:52

Izzy thanks and I really hope the consultation for your sis goes well. I'm sure they won't rush into anything unless it's an emergency, and from what you've said so far it doesn't sound like that's the case.

Mamap thanks - I totally deserved that Grin Grin Doesn't mean I'm not still totally bricking it thought Grin

Katherine welcome. I hope you find this thread as lovely and supportive as I have.

Pink I find it depends - I have had the temp rise the next day or up to four or five days after the first pos on the OPK sticks. Certainly nothing to worry about not getting the temp rise immediately.

Mummya yey!! for coil out and being back on the TTC wagon soon!!

Owl good luck today. What time's your appointment??

Dachs fab encouraging news that the folicles seem to be developing well! Do they know from the scan how many there are or will they only know that once they do the retrieval?

LadyB OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH - 'nearly a BFN' sound very exciting lady!!! I've also got my suspenders on for you! Have you got another test yet? Don't tell me you're restrained enough to wait for FMU tomorrow? [admiration emoticon] Grin

Right - need to scroll back for others' posts - part 2 to follow! Grin

PinkRabbitFood · 04/01/2011 10:39

Mememe-how long does it normally take to get temp rise after 1st peak on opk or shag dictator? Got peak yest, no temp rise yet-is this normal??? Thanks girls xx
