Memsahib · 08/01/2011 11:09

Hi Ladies, started TTC December and currently keeping everything crossed that it works first time (hugely optimistic as just gone 40 and 3 stone over weight, but hey ho)but would appreciate being let on the bus. Any top tips?

arabella36 · 08/01/2011 10:45

Hello all! Anyone at the top of the list doing any sneaky tests yet?Wink

Iggly · 08/01/2011 09:15

Sorry to hear af came along vegas.

innocent - hope you're feeling better about af. Tiny consolation but at least it means can get to know your cycle a bit more and fingers crossed october is your month.

I don't know what's up with my body this month - feeling bloated but would expect to be ovulating around now (if everything was normal). Keep forgetting to use the ovulation sticks so that's a waste! Also forgot to take my temp this morning. Doh

Sorry Vegasmum, I hope I didn't talk that up!

InnocentRedhead · 07/01/2011 21:49

Lets all hope Oct is your month Vegas! :)

And chocolate, you are right, just hard i supose, but i am slowly coming to terms with that it hasn't happened this month. Theres always this coming month, with having AF early in month means i don't have to hop off this lovely bus quite yet. FIngers crossed.

On the AF note, i have being suffering BAD with my moods, probably along with the devastation AF is here too, i cried in Sainsburys just becuase the woman ID'ed me for fags and i didn't have it. And i mean i was in bits all because i wanted a cigarette!
Stupid huh?

babyLL - i am starting to become more body aware, well i thought i was anyway. fingers crossed next month i am more aware x

Good luck ladies, enjoy x

babylanguagelearner · 07/01/2011 21:42

sorry vegas Sad hope the Oct bus is the right one for you

chocolate - I agree, I've started to really notice the signs my body gives me throughout my cycle, things that I was previously completely clueless about even though we are TTC no. 3 (you would think I might have worked these things out before now)

I'm sorry innocentredhead. Don't worry about unloading, it always makes me feel better!

I know what you mean though. I'm only on cycle 2 but with DS we were ttc for such a long time(2yrs). Some months I was devastated when AF came, usually symptom spotting had convinced me I was pregnant! I'm really trying not to get too carried away with symptom spotting this time. Of course I'm always hopeful but I refuse to believe I might be pregnant until I get a BFP!

InnocentRedhead · 07/01/2011 21:19

Hey guys, well hope your all ok and enjoying the ride!

I know many people have bigger problems and i know that these things can take time, 2 months into TTC atm, but i am really finding it hard to come to terms with being on at the moment. It's so hard because my body wasn't telling me AF was going to arrive and really got my hopes up. I have being inconsolable and it hurts. I'm sorry for just, you know, unloading about something that may seem trivial to many other women but i am cut up inside at the moment. I keep having dreams that im pregnant, and then i wake up.

I'm just gonna lie back and enjoy the ride, gonna start things like temping in march i think

chocolatebuttontheif · 07/01/2011 21:06

Gosh this bus is getting busy now, hi to all of the new ladies! This will be a lucky bus!

To all of those not who don't want to chart or use ov sticks, try just being aware of your body. Last month I certainly trusted EWCM and the light spotting I had a lot more than the cheap OV sticks I got from eBay!

cep · 07/01/2011 18:06

baby i'm not, i tried before and it didn't do anything, with a toddler temping was too unreliable and all my ov tests came back negative. now post mc dr advised not to bother as might make me more stressed.

AF started today first post mc, so added to list.

Thanks Tallie I have heard of that book, will keep it in mind.

Thanks for other replies, I am not trying to sound flippant about TTC, I am all for charting and OV kits (found myself in chemist today very tempted to stock up!) but as this is our first cycle of TTC no. 3 I haven't started thinking about all that yet. My DH is like yours, morayrose, if he knew I was doing all that he'd be telling me I'm getting ahead of myself since we've just jumped on the bus at all.

Another reason is that my older sister is TTC her first, is on about her 7th cycle, she is starting to worry a little but for now she's stopped charting etc because, like you Doflieshaveknees it was stressing her out a bit. I don't want her to think that I'm doing the charting or using OV kits and therefore make her think she should be, IYSWIM? She is trying acupuncture to help her try to stay "relaxed" about it (if that is possible)

iggly sorry to hear about your MC. I don't think the temping I did a few months back was effective anyway because I was only using ear thermometer which I now have learned is not really accurate enough! doh for me

Sorry for tardy response, am in a different time zone. Still raining here in sunny Queensland.

Iggly · 07/01/2011 12:22

baby I've not started temping yet as thermometer not here. If I don't get lucky this cycle I will be next time bur only because I'm worried my cycles are funny post MC. have started using ovulation sticks but have already forgotten to use them one day! Doh.

DoFliesHaveKnees · 07/01/2011 12:16

babylanguagelearner I'm also not temping or using ov kits, tried peeing on the ov sticks a couple of months back, but think it stressed me out a wee bit.

Had ovulation test done and everything seems to be fine. Just taking each month as it comes, but as I'm now 38 and its been 11 months since we started ttc, its hard not to worry.

MorayRose · 07/01/2011 12:10

babylanguagelearner I'm not temping or using an OV kit. We're TTC#1 and are trying to stay as relaxed as possible. DH doesn't want this to become a military exercise so we've argeed to give it until March before trying another method.

I think both DH and I have been pretty naive as we thought we would conceive straight away.

tallie123 · 07/01/2011 02:16

Hi everyone

I've had a strange few days as my UCL is 29 but I have ended up having a 32 day cycle this month for some reason with AF arriving today! My new stats are:

TTC1 CD1 UCL 29

babylanguagelearner I read taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler this week, found it really useful and have started charting today.

Tallie

babylanguagelearner · 06/01/2011 23:54

Is anyone NOT temping or using OV kits? Am wondering if I'm being a bit complacent just relying on the "rough window of fertility" approach, as I get the impression most of those on the bus are tracking things a bit more scientifically?

I did temping when my cycle resumed after DC2, but once I got track of the fact that I was having a pretty regular 27/28 day cycle with OV happening pretty much around the middle of that cycle, I stopped.

Newgolddream · 06/01/2011 23:47

Ive been temping since August, now on cycle 7 - I take it about 5am every morning orally and then plot it on FF when I get up. They recommedn a period of at least 3 hours uninterupted sleep but as a poor sleeper I rarely get this so wasnt sure how accurate it would be.

But I can def see a pre and post ov pattern, where my temp goes up after ov and stays up - till AF always arrives and sadly it plummets.

InnocentRedhead · 06/01/2011 23:01

I'm gonna start temping, got ov sticks at the ready for this cycle now.

How do you temp, i've tried looking at the charts and i am clueless xx

kat2504 · 06/01/2011 22:06

iwish those cycles are not massively irregular so I wouldn't worry. Mine vary a bit, recently between 28 and 31 days. As far as I am concerned, if I get a period every month I'm happy, I'm not bothered if it's a day or two early or late. Sounds like 26 or 27 is normal for you, the long cycle just a one-off, were you not feeling well that month?
