I love it galwaygal!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend without too much wallowing and obsessing.

:)

galwaygal · 21/01/2011 12:30

MrsH you are so right....
here are pictures of us all!!!! I had been picturing cassablanca "of all the gin joints in the world and she walks into mine" sort of idea, but the house of eliott is so much more fitting for us!!!!

MrsHende · 20/01/2011 21:56

yellowtomato Sorry about your news, but I think galwaygal sounds like she knows what she's talking about! Take heart!

AuntieDoris I second those emotions!

So, been referred to the Assisted Conception Clinic today. Pleased that the doctor is happy to do this and to get the process moving but still upset that we even have to be there.

Have been to the doctor so many times in the past couple of weeks that I've been getting a lot of knowing smiles and nods at work from people assuming that I'm pregnant so have started just telling people the truth.

Are there any polite responses to "but a year is nothing!", "you're probably trying too hard" or (my personal favourite) "try to stop thinking about it". My colleagues really are lovely and kind and just being nice but ARGH!!! Angry

Can I have some of that gin and chocolate?

(I'm picturing us all like a glamorous scene from House of Elliot...how chic we are!:))

Kimmie30 · 20/01/2011 21:38

Please can i join??? Desperately trying to concieve baby number 4! Have DD 13, DS 7 and DS just turned 3. All came along no problems no waiting! Number 4 not a chance. I am 32 and my Husband 30 and i am sick of hearing..."ah it will happen" or "but you already have 3 anyway" or " just wait and be patient"
How much longer do i have to wait with my mind playing tricks on me every month?? :( Wine please!!!

galwaygal · 20/01/2011 14:32

WWhhhhooooowwwww - DUCHESSE, so good to see you, it is so long since you have been here, not that you need to be here now obviously. Sorry to hear about the broken ankle, I hope that you get a swift and full recovery. How are all your brood including the youngest? So good of you to drop in here with all the goodies too.

Yellowtomato- sorry you have got depressing news from the consultant. I did not think that there was a link betweek AMH and M/C but I am not an expert. For you to be concieving with an AMH so low is amazing. AMH is supposedly a measure of the number of eggs left, but it says nothing about quality of the eggs. So for you to have become pregnant twice with such a low level is incredible. I am in a different boat to you, my AMH is normal but I have m/c 10 times now (nine consequetive m/c's). I was told by the RMC unit at St Mary's (Prof Lesley Regan) that the AMH test means nothing and is not worth doing except maybe in cases where you are going to do IVF. So forget the doctors have another glass of wine here and enjoy the ambiance here!

Hi to all the usual regulars and all the other newbies,,,,, sorry I can't do a few more personal messages, I have to get a drink now and wallow in my own misery for a bit!

duchesse · 20/01/2011 12:44

You are in exactly the right place tomato. I'm here fraudulently, just visiting, but there will be others along soon. And drinking wine and other stuff is actively encouraged. After all it's not like it's going to make a difference is it?

yellowtomato · 20/01/2011 12:40

hello can I join?

Have been ttc #1 for more than 2 years and have just two mmc to show for it. Last mmc in November.

Have been to consultant for blood tests and got my results today. My AMH is 0.85 which he said makes me 75% likely to miscarry if I get pg again and my best chance is donar eggs.

I am in shock....and have bought all the chocolate in the shop. And it is too early for wine? Am I in the right place or am I too extreme? Please tell me nicely and I'll slink off again........

duchesse · 20/01/2011 11:08

Hi shreks, laid up with a broken ankle but otherwise very well thank you. Feel lucky every day.

broccolitrees · 20/01/2011 09:47

hey duchesse good to see you. how the devil are ya? (shreks here, btw, by a new name).
lots of newbies Sad welcome, enjoy the gloom and gin. we could make it more cheery when the band strikes up and we can swing our non cumbersome-due-to-pregnancy bodies around in our flapper dresses... i do love the 20's.

getawiggleon · 19/01/2011 21:18

This thread looks like it could become my spiritual home...

I turn 38 in a few weeks time, the same day that DD turns 2. Had a mc at the end of July last year and have been ttc since but to no avail. I have been on a mc thread but there seems to be more BFPs than TTCs on there at the moment. Am currently waiting for results of fertility blood tests to see just how creaky my ovaries are Shock

duchesse · 19/01/2011 19:43

That is exactly what the hut is and always been for, Doris. It helps to know you're not alone even though it feels like most of the time. I remember it all too well although my journey ended happily after 6.5 years.

AuntieDoris · 19/01/2011 19:29

AF arrived today. I am tearful and tired and generally pissed off.

If I hear one more person tell me to 'relax and it will happen at the right time' I am going to punch them in the fucking face.

Anyway, as you were!

duchesse · 19/01/2011 19:13

And

The hut disappeared? That's almost good news, no? Although, no, clearly not really.

kay157 · 19/01/2011 19:01

Hello Ladies...any room for one more..i've been TTC#1 for nearly three years and i've i hear one more time 'you want it too much' or 'just relax' i'm gonna seriously go mad!!! I've brought some rum with me!! xxx

MrsHende · 15/01/2011 23:21

Hello ladies, I'm loving this place - have put on a flapper dress and headband and brought gin, is there room for another?

I'm 34 (ancient I'm told by my doc Hmm) and we've been ttc for 10 months now. Went to docs to begin investigations 2 weeks ago. All results so far say I'm normal...

My period arrive this evening and I'm gutted :(.

Make mine a large one!

Bewildermum · 14/01/2011 17:26

Hallo, this seems like the place for me.. can I come in? V&T for me please.

Thumbdawitch, did you mention nutty chocolate?

I'm 41, have DD who is 3.5 and have been trying for a second for 2 years. We're "unexplained" so far although I still have to have tubes checked. Have seen very nice consultant twice, but have sort of decided not to go for IVF. Very downhearted too and wondering whether to give up altogether...but...can't...quite...accept it!

(and there are babies ehhhhhverywhere!)

Cheers!

thumbdabwitch · 14/01/2011 12:33

Friday night here - drink would be nice. Waiting to see if my period is coming next week, probably tuesday but could be wednesday or thursday, depending on whether or not I've gone back to a steady 26day cycle.

Am eating too much chocolate. It's not good for me. But it's very yummy and it has almonds in so that makes it more of a healthfood.Wink

OracleInaCoracle · 12/01/2011 15:49

me! period is on its way,, I have that trademark "wipe" and my skin is more cratory than the moon. and The Rage is impressive.

63 cycles (give or take) and counting.

Jules81 · 10/01/2011 21:17

Hi everyone,

Mummyaboard-no problems, sorry it's probably me spelling it wrong! Ceoliacs is an allergy to gluten, it makes my body attack itself if I eat it-it causes problems with my intestine and digestive system. Some studies show that it can cause fertility problems in those diagnosed later in life (I was diagnosed at 20!)

Galwaygirl-I did have a quick look at them the other day thanks for thinking of me.

Right, who's up for another drink?!

OracleInaCoracle · 10/01/2011 12:21

afternoon, welcome to all newcomers, sorry you have to be here. I hope you will find the hut as helpful as i have

thumbwitch · 10/01/2011 10:05

Oh, please can I have grappa instead of gin? Gin has a weird effect on me...

thumbwitch · 10/01/2011 10:04

Hello - can I join please? I have DS who is 3.1 and have been ttc no. 2 for over 2y. Had an early MC last Christmas and haven't managed to achieve anything at all in 2010. Am getting steadily more ancient (43) and more downhearted but haven't yet started interventions - that is this year's project. Will be going to the doc's this month to get my hormone levels tested again (they were fine last March but that's a long while ago now) and then we'll go from there.

At least my GP now is sympathetic - the first one I saw, 2w after my MC, told me that I really should stop bothering to try as I already had one and was really too old to try for a second - fucker.

Sad that this thread is needed but hope that at least some people on here get lucky.

galwaygal · 10/01/2011 09:57

broccoli - good to hear you are down to 8, and that the symptoms have gone. I have found with my m/c's that my symptoms seem to go by the time I get to less than 10, it is also when I generally start the bleeding to!

Jules - you probrably have, but just wanted to check if you had seen the ceoliac and m/c threads on miscarriage topic thread?

M/A - not sure what we have available here stronger than gin, but just put an order in with the nice man at the door he will sort you out!!!

My fun for today is to go to my gynae appointment to be told that I am too old to concieve!!!! Yes today I should be getting the results of the AMH test and progesterone test (which is a bit weird as I was taking progesterone suppliments when told to get the blood test!!!!). Oh well another opportunity for the medical system to see what they can say and not make me mad!

MummyAbroad · 10/01/2011 00:25

Jules tell me to piss off if its personal, but whats ceoliacs? I've never heard of it.

brocoli sounds like you are more in need of the gin than all of us put together. Hope you get your

Muser · 09/01/2011 23:27

Hahahaha. Ignore me folks. Was admiring your thread elsewhere but obviously can't post properly. Lovely thread you have. I'm not going to withdraw that post because it is Too Funny. Here, have another bottle of gin.
