Bexamundo · 26/01/2011 13:30

ps I am off sick from work and bored stiff - too ill to do anything but watch crap tv and post on here. Some company would be nice!

Bexamundo · 26/01/2011 13:29

Hello ladies, I'm here to join the a
party. First of all galway my heart goes out to you and your colleagues, I will be praying for them.
We have been TTC #1 for 14 months - though this month we agreed not to contemplate it because we've both been to ill to contemplate SWI. My initial bloods came back within normal range, DH has appt booked to provide his sample but that's not til March (blimey getting any input seems to take forever).
Am fed up with it all and would like to come and wallow in chocolate and gin with you all.

Bisous · 26/01/2011 12:21

MrsHende · 25/01/2011 19:12

That's so awful, that's the kind of story that you just keep thinking about in disbelief. It's horrendous.

yellowtomato · 25/01/2011 18:56

Galway, I'm really sorry to hear that......what a terrible story and so sad. Get that gin down you...

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2011 18:19

oh galway, thats awful. that poor, poor woman! no wonder you feel so low x

galwaygal · 25/01/2011 18:13

Hey guys, I am feeling very low. Ready for a long story, 'cause I am going to write one now....

About 8 months ago, at work I went to lunch with a collegue and her friend (who I work with in a different department occasionally). They have known each other for about 15 years. We were sitting there, my collegue 5 weeks pregnant, her friend 10 weeks pregnant and myself 6 weeks pregnant.... It was fun I had not told them of my pregnancy, but they were chatting away about theirs.

Fast forward to today, I got a phonecall from my collegue, who is supposed to go on maternity leave from tomorrow. I guessed she was ringing to chicken out of work tomorrow and starting maternity leave today. phone call went along the lines of...
"I went to the doctor today, but I am completely ok", I think this is a strange way to tell me she is not in work. "My friend had her baby on Saturday, its a boy. Yesterday her husband died"

Confused

I thought I had misheard. Was he in a car accident? No. He had been out of work for two years and finally got a job starting yesterday on a building site, and fell to his death. Sad

The friend is still in hospital following the birth of her baby. My collegue is in pieces too as she is due to give birth in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry it is a long story, but I am feeling very down. Less than a year ago we were all happily thinking babies, I lost mine but was so happy for the two of them to be having good and healthy pregnancies and watching their bumps grow. Now this death of her husband seems such a cruel blow when her post-birth hormones are already all over the place. And my collegue is scared with the last few weeks of her pregnancy not going too well and now this shock.

Sorry again, I just needed a place to come where I could grab a gin or two and forget my problems.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2011 17:48

lol laura, everytime dh moans I give him a graphic breakdown of all my tests (camera's dye, dildocams, internals...) and finish off with "all you have to do is have a wank ffs, grow up"

usually puts him back on track Wink

LauraSmurf · 25/01/2011 17:07

Hi Lissielou,
Yes well i do have a great gynea consultant. He saw me after a diagnostic laparoscopy in August and told me that there was no problem with scarring or chocolate cysts that could prevent preg.
In his words "Lie back and think of Ireland!!" I am having blood tests now to check that i am ovulating ( yes i am ). Next step is hub in a cup!! He is so NOT happy with that one! Hehehehehe.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2011 15:53

laura, is your gp going to refer you to a cons? they should really by now!

thank you mrshende x

galway, thats shit, how many cons's now? what is pendoline for? wish my cons would take note!

broccoli whats up my lovely? how are the levels going?

duchesse, think i tremember that. isnt it weird how we react to other people's "good" news. I put people on a rolling scale of "deservedness". and I do a lot of tooth gritting. in fact, my dentist mentioned that Ive been grinding my teeth. if I had a baby, I'd have perfect gnashers!

cons on friday. yes, the shite one who refuses to listen to me and makes me want to rip off my ears. am going to ask for a complete overhaul (another HSG, full bloods etc - its been 3.5 years since the last lot) and another go on clomid. will also mention The Rage, but not sure whether to mention last mc (nearly 8m ago) as at this stage, another one doesnt make much difference to treatment. but I do have medical proof of temp spike etc!

duchesse · 25/01/2011 15:42

Just remembering the time when at my lowest ttc ebb, ours friends announced that they were expecting (IVF) triplets less than 2 years after the birth of (IVF) twins. I remember distinctly that they could give me one and not even notice. Before pulling myself together and merely feeling terrified for them. For the record they have coped amazingly well, but my reaction at the time was not my finest hour. Pointless ftc month after month seriously takes its toll on one's mental health.

Cheers, ladies. The gin seems plentiful in here.

broccolitrees · 25/01/2011 10:56

i am in a really bad mood.

galwaygal · 24/01/2011 20:51

Hey all,

Well my latest trip to hsopital regarding my recurrent miscarriages, has lead to yet another doctor telling me just how I am too old Sad to be at this game, and did I really really want to continue!!!! Anyway this doctor did have the advantage over the previous ones in that at least he had some idea what he was talking about.

Because of my positive ANA test, he now is prescribing Asprin, progesterone and heperin.... new one for me - but even more strange is that he wants me to take this from day 21 each month, not just from positive test. So it looks like I will soon be jabbing myself with needles as well as having lovely suppositories. I did ask him about predniolone, and he said that he is waiting til the results that should be published in June this year from the double-blind placebo trial.

Oh well, I will just rest here with my little old eggs and fill them with some gin.

MrsHende · 24/01/2011 19:38

Hi Laura, sorry you are here and that you are finding things so hard. Our bodies can be so cruel - how disappointing to be 5 days late with no joy.

Lissie, there is nothing I can say that you've not heard before or that will cheer you up. :( All I can offer are some chocolates to join the bathtub of gin and the ciggie.

LauraSmurf · 24/01/2011 16:51

Well i came off the pill 18 months ago and we just decided to see what might happen. We knew it was a very small possiblity (or thats what we thought up until the lap at least). Since August we have been actively trying. Saw doc this morning and she said i did ovulate before day 24. (how it that a helpful statisitic'!!)
So plan is keep trying!

OracleInaCoracle · 24/01/2011 16:44

hi laura, welcome to the hut, sorry you are here Sad is there a plan? how long have you been ttc for?

LauraSmurf · 24/01/2011 16:21

Hi all i was wondering if you had a dark corner that i could just sit and soak up gloom in.
I have been told for years that because of endometriosis i prob cant concieve. Finally told in August( after lap ) that my tubes were actually (miraculously) still clear. So just get on with it consultant said.

So every months without fail as soon as my period finishes (day 8 - 10) we have sex every other day. And every month my period arrives. It was due on christmas day and i was 5 days late, so hub and i were very gutted after that. I charted temp religiously this month and yet AF arrives as usual.

Why is this so hard?

OracleInaCoracle · 24/01/2011 15:45

ok, I need to catch up, I see we have newbies, grab a bathtub of gin and a cigarette while I catch up.

off to see my useless twat of a consultant on friday, hormones not settled in almost 9 months, but am tempted to leave out last mc so he will give me more clomid/re-do tests.

fucked off. everyone is pregnant except me and its been 63 cycles. the most natural thing in the world my hairy arse.
