Yes please, make mine a hendricks and real lemon lemonade, ta.

Bexamundo · 04/02/2011 21:56

Ladies, I'm bored and fed up. DH has gone to bed early. AF is about to arrive (not too upset since DH would have been a tad suspicious if I did get a BFP since we haven't DTD since DC3!). I just have that pre-AF aura. G&T anyone?

ellangirl · 04/02/2011 13:10

Lucky Mr Ninja!

NinjaChipmunk · 04/02/2011 09:19

Oh I don't know, it might bring out a new side of my personality Wink

ellangirl · 04/02/2011 08:45

Yeah I'm thinking about updating the bedroom at bit too- how funny. In fact, I'm just trying to think of any project to do to keep my mind off wanting a baby Hmm

Just a tip though- black silk sheets and a rotating bed might not be the look you want to go for...

NinjaChipmunk · 03/02/2011 22:25

i'm not sure i remember how to do it for fun anymore, i think laptops have a lot to answer for!
we're about to redecorate our bedroom as currently its horrendous and hasn't been touched since we moved in. it looks like a cross between something owned by a pensioner but with clothes, washing and a variety of other crap everywhere. its not a sexy place and neither of us like it. i think when we finally change it it will make a huge difference to wanting to spend time in there...

ellangirl · 03/02/2011 22:08

I think turning my laptop off occasionally may help! Just generally not taking each other for granted. Can just about remember in the past where we actually did the deed for fun and not to make babies! Perhaps just need to take the pressure off and maybe I won't tell him every detail of my cycle like I normally do Hmm
Can only hope that trying something different may do the trick!

NinjaChipmunk · 03/02/2011 21:51

rekindled romance sounds nice, dare i ask what you might have planned?

ellangirl · 03/02/2011 21:44

Another friend just announced their pregnancy despite saying they only wanted one. FFS! I want another one!

DH and I are going to have a month of rekindled romance and not just SWI at the correct moments- it's all got a bit pressured recently!

bossyboop · 03/02/2011 13:54

Oh yeah all the mums dropping kids off at nursery and no2 or no3 on the way, I just stand there holding the door open for them all as they wheel their prams in. I did actually ponder the book thinking that it would be easy to sell afterwards!

Oh well got waterloo road on sky+ to watch so will get my Tom Clarkson fix tonight Smile

ellangirl · 03/02/2011 13:44

Thanks Bex. I can't avoid pregnant people because I already have a son so surrounded by babies and lots of friends are pregnant again with 2nd or 3rd (or 4th actually!)
I just bought a zita west book off ebay. Not sure 'taking charge of your infertility' would have sold so well bossy
It must be frustrating knowing it happened quickly first time for you. I've got a while to go before I match how long DS took, and what if that was a fluke?!

bossyboop · 03/02/2011 13:29

happy to be here in good company at least, thermometer ordered, nearly went for 'taking charge of your fertility' book but that thought wait and see what all the tests reveal. If infertility is on the cards then a book like thats no good. Will drag out my zita west book and read all the bits ive never read before as it never applied to me till now! Always handy to have a book to torment yourself with when browsing the internet isnt an option!

NinjaChipmunk · 03/02/2011 13:23

bex i know I saw the ad last night a I think i actually snorted when it came on.

Bexamundo · 03/02/2011 13:21

Warm welcome new ladies!
I get annoyed with all the pregnant people, wouldn't watch graham Norton last week cos of Kate Hudson's bumpness and the Bt ad bloke's lady is up the duffer. Annoys me every time!

bossyboop · 03/02/2011 13:20

That brings back memories of drinking gin aged 17 Confused

2nd month of trying which was very lucky and no time to chart, symptom spot or anything. I expected it to take longer 2nd time round but im not worrying so much about having a baby now more worrying I have something wrong with me. If its just something that affects fertility I can live with that but if it was something more serious. Oh well best not worry about it until I have something to worry about, hopefully not come to that but I expect the anxiety isnt going to help! Think I will get a thermometer from amazon they have kits where you get so many pregnancy tests and ovulation strips with them.

ellangirl · 03/02/2011 13:13

Hi bossy, nice of you to join us. Can't stand mojitos myself, quite like gin. After AF came yesterday I thought I might just drink quite a lot of wine. Sick of trying to be good not drinking-grr! How long did it take you to conceive number 1 if you don't mind me asking?

Think I might start charting too- so if you find out where to get that thermometer let me know!

Glad things are moving for you now, I just heard the wait to see a Gyn consultant here is 9 months so I'd better get myself to GP!

bossyboop · 03/02/2011 13:05

Ive never had one but always fancied trying Smile

Seems like they are all over, even tv with all the celebs displaying their bumps or new arrivals.

All this is going to mean is its back to the drawing board googling like mad and diagnosing myself with allsorts of nasties. Need to get a BBT thermometer not sure what to get though just need one that is accurate unlike my normal thermometer which said DD was a cool 35 when she blatantly had a high fever but thats another matter in itself, now shes over the worst I think I need to chill out!

NinjaChipmunk · 03/02/2011 12:58

instead of hot choclate why not join me in a mojito?
I need some perspective, I keep seeing pregnant people everywhere and its getting right on my tits today.

glad you feel you are getting somewhere bossyboop its nice to take some control (if you can call it that)

bossyboop · 03/02/2011 12:48

hello, ive switched over from symptom spotting to gloom.

ttc #2 taken 15 months so far...

went to see gyn after gp referral expecting to have polyps confirmed and removed only to find I dont have polyps but just whatever he called it (had an accent so not sure what he said) but anyway its normal in my age group (late twenties btw Shock )so unexplained cause of our troubles atm.

He is moving quickly and now the next step is day 4 and day 21 bloods, dh sperm and an ultrasound. I have to chart my bbt and in a couple of months go back when all the results are in. Didnt expect this at all. Read so much on here about others going through these tests but wasnt expecting it to happen to us and quite so soon. Though I should be pleased someone is willing to progress this for us im just in shock.

Need to eat more biscuits and drink hot chocolate now

ellangirl · 02/02/2011 19:41

I know. He doesn't like to think about it too much, and I don't blame him for that, whilst at the same time being sad I'm not pregnant and having no-one else to tell apart from him, which makes him upset because he thinks it's his fault! We both take vitamins for conception- wellman/woman, the male one had lots of zinc. He eats seeds and nuts every day too.

Fingers crossed your blood test shows something positive :)

NinjaChipmunk · 02/02/2011 19:23

your poor dh, does he take any supplements? I know zinc is supposed to be very good. he shouldn't blame himself though, it doesn't do either of you any good.

ds is 3.4 and was conceived first month of trying. since having him i have had a loss of libido, but still have very regular periods and pmt etc. Having read up a bit (i know you should never self diagnose really but i like to get armed with info in case i need it) it sounds like i have more estrogen and less progesterone. still, we'll see hopefully in a few weeks!

its been a little quiet on here in the last few days but hopefully people will pop up soon.

ellangirl · 02/02/2011 19:09

Hi Ninja, thanks!

I think I will ask, just to be sure. Think I'm functioning 'normally'. Cycles vary a bit from 29-35 days but I can spot ovulation mostly by cm monitoring and confirm with OPKs.

Our guess is that DH has a low sperm count, for various reasons I won't go into. That's why he doesn't want to see a doctor, because he already thinks it's his fault so he doesn't see what it would achieve. I can't push because I don't want to upset him.

I think it's difficult at the moment because nobody knows how long it took with DS, so they just assume another one will be along asap, which of course it would be if we could!

What makes you think your hormone levels are skewed?
And how old is your ds?

NinjaChipmunk · 02/02/2011 18:46

hello, glad you found the thread.
Maybe you should ask your doc for a blood test? even if your dp doesn't want himself tested? do you chart/ temp/ use opk's etc?

its difficult when all around are popping out babies with what appears to be ease, and when people keep asking. I have a ds and have been trying for 10 months now and i would like 2 more if i can manage it. after self diagnosing today i think my estrogen/ progesterone levels are skewed but since my blood test isn't till the 18th i'll have to keep guessing.

ellangirl · 02/02/2011 17:47

Knock knock can I come in?

I know there will be people much further into this journey than me, but AF has just found me and I've had enough!!

My story (in brief) DS 1 took a year and a half to conceive (was a bit longer than that without contraception but didn't try properly to start with), Started trying for number 2 when he was 5 months and now 10 months down the line. So fed up with being asked when I'm planning number 2, but even more frightened of the day coming when people stop asking IYKWIM!

I always dreamt of a big family, 3 or 4 children and I'm feeling like I might be cheated out of that and that upsets me. I know I should feel lucky that I have one child, but getting there nearly finished me off!
Never had any checks etc, DH won't have it, so just got the carry on as we are and hope for the best...

Bisous · 31/01/2011 20:52

Hahaha Broccoli good one! Unfortunately i'd already started taking this round of Clomid when i realised .

Sorry Bex I've no idea what the levels are supposed to be. My OB/GYN just told me to take Clomid coz my levels weren't good.

Getting so worried the Clomid won't be the solution to us getting a BFP and what the next step would be. OB/GYN said something about collecting DH contribution and putting it in exactly the right place at right time (assisted fertilisation or something like that i think it was called) and then i guess it's IVF and that sounds like such an ordeal, do i really want to go down that road or should i just accept we have DS and let it go?
