Listening to your healthy talk makes me want to eat chocolate.
I'm in agreement with you Ninja- have been trying to not symptom spot but got carried away last cycle. Made it 10 times worse then when I clearly wasn't pregnant.

Pooch how are you finding the acupuncture? I was wondering about giving it a try- more for relaxation than anything I think! Need to stop being stressy...

NinjaChipmunk · 07/02/2011 17:02

a good swear is hard to beat, although I try not to do it in front of ds if I can help it!
may i ask are you up the duffer if you've just popped back on to say hello? That certainly gives a glimmer of hope.

Hello Annie, yes it has been a good find so far. The lack of babydust and tweeness is what I need. I can't do symptom spotting anymore as I don't think its very healthy for me and everyone here seems down to earth.
pooch I even had nuts and berries for breakfast, I wonder how long I can keep this up for?

bossy ellan - an acupuncturist/chinese herby bloke I'm seeing managed to persuade me to take BBT as well as he said it could explain a lot more than just when you ov. So I have been but you're right its such a bloody faff will continue for this month then giving up.
ninja have opted for the healthy option too, one can diet coke a day, lots of herbal teas, pilates, yoga, 'superfoods'!! Its been a struggle as I much prefer a diet of lard and booze but will let you know if it works.

NinjaChipmunk · 07/02/2011 14:57

hello,
ellangirl i'm just keeping a diary of important bits too. Glad to hear about the blood tests, good for you for going and I hope you get some conclusive answers (if thats actually possible)

bossyboop i don't think i'd manage to chart, sounds like such a faff!

I've decided to have a healthy month this month, mainly cos I've got piles and I'd like them to go! so less tea, less salt, less sugar for me and more water, fruit, leafy green veg and wholegrains. I wonder if I'll notice any difference? I'm going to do some yoga/ pilates as well I think. dp does sport one evening a week and once ds is in bed an hour or so of that might be quite relaxing/ good for me.

ellangirl · 07/02/2011 14:25

Hey all,
Saw my GP this morning who has arranged some day 21 blood tests, although I won't be able to go for a few weeks! She has questioned my history with DS birth and the fact I had a transfusion. Didn't think things like that could make a difference. The waiting list for fertility treatment is 6 months ish according to her, and she won't refer me until these results have come back, which will be a month or so. God I hope I just get pregnant instead!!
Have given up on the idea of BBT for bnow- I'm just not organised enough. Will just keep a diary of important bits instead!

bossyboop · 07/02/2011 13:10

Its all a bit pointless as you are supposed to have at least 3 hours sleep before taking bbt and take it before you get out of bed. Im up several times a night going to the loo and checking on dd who is poorly. So taken at 2 different times on both days so far, first one after 2 hours sleep and 2nd one after i got out of bed. But I did that thinking it was earlier than it was and that I could get back to sleep for a couple of hours and take it again but then dd was coughing non stop and so was I and we both had to get up. Will keep going as at least then im doing as im told by the gyn.

Hardandsleazy · 06/02/2011 16:27

Not much but I know that it's not necessarily a
Strict 14 days from ovulation to period so that
At account for odd symptoms that don't seem to be at right time. Tbh I must have wasted too much time and money before I gave in and got a clear blue digital
Monitor that seems most accurate and least faffy of methods. That said I have been too fed up an half arsed to use it for a couple of months so it's sat In the cupboard .

bossyboop · 06/02/2011 15:31

Got to start charting bbt now, did this morning to try it out and just as well I did as af came early, think it must only have been a 25 day cycle so not sure how that affects things. I get ewcm for a few days mid cycle and sore bbs for the last few days before af so I feel something is working properly at least. Anyone know anything about short cycles?

Hardandsleazy · 06/02/2011 09:21

Sometimes being honest best policy as shuts people
Up. Strangely I was just thinking about sorting and maternity and baby stuff too ellansgirl .

Head ok although dh has decided today is potty training day today... Wine may arrive earlier than normal.

And thanks for drink tips- over reading zita west (despite being told
By consultant MW that moderate drinking ok when ttc and drinking when conceived dd- in fact she was conceived on drunken weekend away) but I do Start to question everything.

ellangirl · 06/02/2011 09:13

Morning ladies, how's the gin fuelled hangover? I spent last night vacuum packing maternity clothes in a rage- they're going in the attic instead of on the wardrobe where they've been for ever.

I have actually responded to a couple of my friends asking when we're having another one with 'I'm bloody trying'- bit of a conversation killer! The only friend that's known we've been trying again all along has blotted her copybook by getting pregnant whilst on the pill even though she's got 3 and definitely wasn't going to have any more. FFS!

Actually though, I've liked talking about it- and it gives DH a break from listening. Draw the line at telling the bloody Inlaws though -they're utterly tactless when it comes to asking about having another one.

Pooch28 · 05/02/2011 23:36

LISSIE I laughed so much at ur response I wet myself - actually not literally - a by product of not bothering with pelvic floor exercises & pushing out an obese baby.

OracleInaCoracle · 05/02/2011 22:51

i mean, what they are asking you is "do you have regualr unprotected sex?" I wouldnt ask my 26yo, single sister that, so why is it ok to ask me?

Bexamundo · 05/02/2011 22:49

Lissielou I have toyed with similar responses esp woman at work who asked how my little one was, I explained have no little one, you must be thinking of D Nephew, she says 'why don't you have a little one?'. Sorry does our subfertility not fit into your perception of how our lives should be? Other people are stupid and insensitive!

OracleInaCoracle · 05/02/2011 22:34

my reply varies between "we'll see" "I doubt it" and "well we had sex last night 13 days after my last period which was med-heavy flow, lasted 6 days and was the end of a 29d cycle, sex was doggy style, so we'll see hwta happens shall we. are you having unprotected sex"

tends to work...

Pooch28 · 05/02/2011 22:24

lissie haven't had the 'adopt a baby' one yet but I'm sure its only a matter of time. We have managed to reproduce successfully on one occasion and yes Bisous people keep asking me why/when we're having another one. Can't be bothered to recount my dismal mc history to them so just ignore them.
Sat night tv is crap isn't it, copious amounts of hop-based drinks get me through and almost lull me into thinking I've been out.

Bisous · 05/02/2011 22:13

Ahhh lissie i hadn't even connected the two... My skin is a complete mess at the moment and my hair isn't behaving either! Makes sense now!

Oh i've heard the adoption one too! PLEEEEEZE what are these people on?!

Was at a birthday party with DS the other day and in a group of chatting mums had another mum go on and on and on about how i should have another DC, to the point i was nearly in tears! for how long is it possible to say to people politely with a smile, 'we might start thinking about it soon' (or that sort of thing). I am very close to openly shouting WE ARE TRYING AND ITS NOT BLOODY WORKING!!

OracleInaCoracle · 05/02/2011 21:58

hardandsleazy (love the name btw) when I was newly upduffed with ds I got so hammered I fell over - twice, got so stoned I had to be put to bed, smoked 20 a day, inhaled coffee, worked 18hr days, was underweight and climbed onto the top of the restaurant i managed in torrential rain to clear the gutters. he was great. have a beer!

bisious, I did 7 cycles in total. had impressive ovarian action and got upduffed (twas not to be) but the side effects were awful. my skin was craterous, my hair was both frizzy and greasy at the same time and The Rage? I was terrifying.

one woman told us to adopt a baby because then we would be "certain to get pregnant" oh yes, because children ARE meant to be used as pawns in our games against luck arent they?

Bisous · 05/02/2011 21:48

LoL Hard, i too think i will slap the next person who tells me to 'forget about it and it'll happen!' Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Mariella thats enough for me to avoid that channel

Hardandsleazy · 05/02/2011 21:43

Oh dear - I did smile at your post lissie but I know clomid a pain from friends and lol at the babydust. If i had a pound for
Every it will happen when you least expect it comment...

Yes- I agree re channels. Was gagging for sky Atlantic and then half
Of it is documentaries with mariella frostrup or in the actors studio (an hour of ponceville). A friend said she actually caught them
Repeating Albion market on UK gold.

Am thinking of cutting booze right out but thinkhace already given up caffeine and don't have much else and at times only a drink will do

Bisous · 05/02/2011 21:41

Sorry lissielou, that sounds so funny - 5 years!!

I was like that a few months ago when my hormones were all messed up. Havent found Clomid too bad (i've heard of horror stories) just feel a bit fuzzy headed most of the time.

DH is home Monday and my last Clomid day was Thursday so it should be OK.

How many cycles of Clomid did you do?

OracleInaCoracle · 05/02/2011 21:32

when is dh due home? how have you found the clomid? it made me evil I genuinely felt sorry for dh at times. I once woke him up in the night to rant at him about going to the pub. 5 years previously.

Bexamundo · 05/02/2011 21:31

suggest you ask DH to pop by 24hr Tesco to procure beer on way home?
Welcome pooch, we are all in diff. situations but generally fed up of TTC for various reasons!!
hardandsleazy is it just me or since we got all these channels via Virgin/sky/ digital do they jsut keep repeating the same old rubbish?!
