actually I think I only got on 1 bus and it was very crowded and went too fast! And also very depressing, think the thought of having to switch threads every month just emphasises the failure. Then theres the lucky ones that would be on the bus for 5 mins then miraculously fall pg and you would be fighting to get their lucky seat! Though im sure its more civilised than that! Its good to be in the company of other long term ttc'ers rather than the oh ive been trying for ages, how long? 6 months Hmm

Bexamundo · 26/02/2011 19:05

I have to avoid wheat so I have gf biscuits sometimes. In season I have creme eggs most days! I'm on my 14th bus. Actually I've never got on a bus. I'm generally quite positive (if I was American I'd be 'perky'!) butI didn't join MN til about month 11 of ttc and by then I'd join never feel confident enough to hop on a bus! I prefer to hang out here.

bossyboop · 26/02/2011 18:03

I was looking at the new thread and the people who are on their third bus, do you think I would kill the thread if I said it was my 17th bus?! Third month of trying and being laid back as it was early days seems like so long ago. But never mind theres always biscuits Smile

Bexamundo · 26/02/2011 15:56

I'm having the same symptoms, have opted for retail therapy. Ooh new shoes! Even if I an preggers they will slip on :)

bossyboop · 26/02/2011 14:01

same here bex, using FF and reading TCOYF has really helped me to understand my body and I feel more confident in getting pregnant now, also subject to normal test results! 10dpo now and feeling really quite tired, a bit iffy, headaches on and off, temps still high, suspicious looking boobs that would usually be really sore now but just look swollen. Im going for a lie down!

Bexamundo · 25/02/2011 22:05

BTW mousey I just started charting (am using fertility friend www.fertilityfriend.com) and found it quite helpful just to understand what's going on with my body. I also recommend "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. I started reading it and it was like lightbulb moment as to why why we'd be unsuccessful (assuming our medical tests come back normal!).
But then again I AM a bit obsessive and taking control has made me feel better! Smile

Bexamundo · 25/02/2011 21:58

Blimey I'm either ill or pregnant - had one cider and despite buying a four pack have switched to milk!
I suppose that's good news Pooch - more indication of what to expect.
Interestingly my colleague deliberately had 4 year age gaps between her 3..she wanted to be able to give all her attention to each one when the elder one was at school. They all get one really well, because they're not so close in age they don't rub each other up. I'd always wanted a two year age gap but now would be ok with a bit longer. The stress of tttc#1 may put DH off the idea of dc#2 full stop!

Pooch28 · 25/02/2011 21:29

Saw my acupunc today who said that because my temp hadn't risen by much after OV it was unlikely I was PG this month - on the bright side instead of having a 2WW I've had a 5 day wait. I'm hoping of course that he's wrong.. Along with stressing about getting PG, I then worry about staying PG, there being nothing wrong AND the age gap! Oh the joys of being female, I fuckin hate it... Desperate to have a gin/vodka I still don't want to risk it, just in case...
My SIL had 2 boys really 18 mths apart in the hope they'd be close and they're like chalk and cheese so I have to park stressing about the age gap.
Hairy - how r u doing?? Better I hope.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 25/02/2011 20:34

thanks for the welcomes. Ugh I just DON'T want to get obessesive.

Pink, my son is 2.5 and I really hoped to also be pregnant to have produced a sibling for him by now too....can't help but start to worry about big age gaps

Bexamundo · 25/02/2011 18:54

Welcome Mousey! Glad you found us.
Pink I know what you mean. It's the limbo in the tww that's the worst thing really, getting your hopes up. I am there atm, 50% convinced and symptom spotting yet drinking cider so not that convinced. After a year guess I'm tired of putting my life on hold every other fortnight!
Cheers! Wine

PinkCustard · 25/02/2011 14:31

Vodka all round - hooray!

Mousey (If I can call you that?) I have charted my temp for the past 4 months and actually found it more of a worry and quite a nuisance to take temp every morning before doing anything else. But I do use a CBFM which is reliable at detecting Ov and has agreed with temp chart each time so I'm switching back to just the monitor from now on.

Changing I'm just starting month 15 too - joyous.

I actually feel better today that AF has definitely shown its face than I did yesterday when I was in that horrible limbo of suspecting it was about to arrive but still desperately hoping it wouldn't. I'm also feeling generally more positive about it all as I'm viewing my elusive BFP as a lack of something good happening rather than something bad happening (keep reminding myself of all the good things I do have). I'm also throwing myself into organising DS's 3rd birthday next month too (and definitely not feeling sad that I had hoped to at least be preg by then, or ideally to have produced a sibling for him).

angster · 25/02/2011 12:52

AF has arrived for me too. I was secretly hoping acupuncture was going to perform a miracle but still an 11 day LP. Desperate for that elusive 12 day LP to give me peace of mind!
So I go in to cycle 9 since m/c. VODKA please!

Welcome GWTMH - in terms of charting , i think there is a double edge sword on this one. I chart and the one hand it does give me a great indication of exactly when I'm ovulating as I use with OPKs. It has told me I have a short LP so i guess that is useful but sometimes perhaps it's best not to know. On the other hand, I find it has caused me stress as well because i wake in the night worrying about my temps coming down so now I stop taking them about 7 DPO. If you're not the obsessive type - I would say go for it, it might tell you sth.

Bisous · 25/02/2011 12:25

G&T anyone? I'm in the mood... Sounds like you Pink and Ninja might be too, sorry to hear you two have AF on her way for a visit too :-(

Changing2011 · 25/02/2011 11:46

Hi GWTMH - I had a 42 day cycle as well back in December - shite isnt it! So hard to plan when the cycles are all over the place!

You are not alone, I am 15 months of trying. x

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 25/02/2011 11:35

Please can I join in? Have been linked through from a thread I started.

Fell pg with DS instantly and have not been using contraception for DC2 since last June. Main reason I'm not pregnant yet it probably down to DH being other side of an ocean 2-3 weeks a month the last few months and me just burning the candle at every end in an attempt to find a silver lining to the cloud of not being pregnant. But reckon it's about time I took it more seriously otherwise I will NEVER get pregnant again.

Do you guys reckon it's worth charting fertility or whatever that means? AF is all over the place, last one was 46 days before showing up.

Ugh I just don't want to have to deal with the disppointment every month

Changing2011 · 25/02/2011 11:02

Friday yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Date night tonight, DD is at Nannys Wink still no AF here but another 4 days to go until due! FX for me girls. DP said I looked "Porky" last night! Cheers Shock

NinjaChipmunk · 25/02/2011 09:47

Hi pink sorry you're feeling crap too. It's Friday so breakfast booze is allowed I think!

NinjaChipmunk · 25/02/2011 09:42

Morning all. Sorry to hear you're so pissed off bisous, although not surprised. Some months seem to affect worse than others.
Don't know about you but I allow myself a certain amount of pissed offness as it seems to help me cope with the rest better.
I'm feeling resigned to af starting today, can feel the beginning rumblings already. Am feeling ok about it so far. Will go back to docs on weds when I have day off and ds will be at nursery. Think I might do yoga/ pilates again. It's good for clearing my head and getting the blood flowing. Plus my pelvic floor is crap!

PinkCustard · 25/02/2011 09:41

Hello,

Well f'ing AF is def on the way so all my hope for this month has disapperared again. Bollocks! The usual thought of giving up flashed through my mind, but ofcourse I'll just keep going. Am trying to think longer term, and telling myself this time next year this will be a distant memory...(although this time last year I was sure I'd have a baby by now...)

Sorry you're feeling crap too Bisous, it really is shit isn't it. I'm wondering if it's too early to crack open the vodka to drown my sorrows...?

My sis has her scan today - so both my sisters either have a second or are baking one as we speak, and my dad said the other day 'you'll have to catch up' Angry although to be fair they don't know we've been trying.

Bisous · 25/02/2011 06:59

Hey Bex we have to keep hoping... Fingers crossed for you hun x. My DH doesn't seem to understand either.

Bexamundo · 25/02/2011 06:32

My Dh said the other night 'you're secretly loving this aren't you?'. I had to explain the sense of relief it was to find others who understood'. Hope all recent recruits find it helpful to be somewhere where it'snot just about 'jumping on a bus and cracking a month'.
Realised I am pinning all hopes on a bfp thus month, mega symptom spotting even tho we only dtd 4 days before ovulation. Bit unrealistic I know!

Bisous · 24/02/2011 22:41

Just read back over some of the recent news (i really need to get on here more often, hopefully after half term!).

Fab news Mrs H Congratulations! Renews my hope!

Ninja booze sounds like it definately in order, I'll be joining you!

hairy hope you're feeling better

Welcome new ladies, sorry you're here tho'... but i've been so glad to find somewhere where i feel 'normal'!

Bisous · 24/02/2011 22:17

Hi ladies, well i'm back here again which means Effing AF arrived! So pissed off you wouldn't believe. (well actually you ladies probably DO believe!!) I really thought we'd done it, i was getting so many symptoms, i was bloody text book!

But it must have been all in my head... Reproductive organs aren't working and now my head is messed up too. Right effing state i'm in!!!

Decided to stop Clomid and actively trying TTC for a while as I need a break from it all. Going to just focus on DS and enjoy the beginnings of Spring with him for a while.

So glad i've got here to come to. I can say how pissed off and upset i am and not try and 'be positive' or 'stop thinking about it and it will happen' or smile and agree when someone says 'if its meant to happen it will'...

Thanks ladies, hugs to you all x

Bexamundo · 24/02/2011 17:34

Welcome pink, shall we have pink cocktails to welcome her? Yeah I am encouraged they got higher ninja. Dh is booked in to provide his sample so we may as well go together when all results are in.

bossyboop · 24/02/2011 14:45

thats true, when gyn had a good rummage af started 3 days later without warning and instead of the usual couple of days of brown spotting it was like a proper bleed for the first time in god knows when. Dont know what he did but it even ended quicker instead of several days of brown discharge. Must have magic hands Smile no cramps till after a couple of days either and were very mild. Hooray im fixed Hmm
