Ah hugs to you ninja. That's rubbish. Not sure what else they'll test...might refer you for lap & dye to see if anything physical is interfering?

NinjaChipmunk · 24/03/2011 21:51

hello, yes af arrived bang on time this morning as soon as i woke up. Feeling much more positive today though.
Good luck Bex and pink I shall be thinking of you this coming week. Let us know how it goes!

I'm going back to the docs next week to get referred to the sub-fertility clinic. Does anyone know what they are likely to test for once the referral comes through? So far the gp has tested progesterone, prolactin, thyroid, FSH, LH and something else that i can't remember.

Bexamundo · 24/03/2011 21:32

I'm very confused, went on.holiday as you know. Crap at taking temp on hol and affected by alcohol! Now ff suggesting still not ovulated (would expect to be 7dpo!). Must assume am v late due to holiday affecting/delaying things.
Ignoring whisper that suggests all the nookie in holiday could have upduffed me. Fanned my friend saying she got pg the day after af left!
On the other hand am decorating bedroom following rewire. Very satisfying.
Hugs to Lissielou.
Did af arrive ninja? How you feeling?

PinkCustard · 24/03/2011 21:19

Well I'm 7dpo now and have been having definite internal rumblings and back ache - not sure whether these are positive signs or not...? Only time will tell......

PinkCustard · 23/03/2011 15:44

Oh how crap, go and get yourself something nice to treat yourself, and a big bottle of wine for tonight. It's such a f*ing nightmare this whole awful TTC thing Sad

NinjaChipmunk · 23/03/2011 15:28

thanks ellangirl doesn't help that i've just been told i need to go back to the dentist next week for a filling too. I need some comfort food but there's none in the house. Bugger. It's really not my day today!

How are you? Hope you've got some lively sunshine where you are?

ellangirl · 23/03/2011 14:48

Oh ninja, we know how you feel! Hugs and gin xx

NinjaChipmunk · 23/03/2011 13:55

well i'm a fucking twat. i knew i shouldn't bother to test but i did and it was negative. so now i'm sat here feeling like i'm about to burst into tears. i'm pissed off at myself for wasting a test, it being negative, and feeling hormonal as obviously af will arrive tomorrow.
why is it so much harder some months?

NinjaChipmunk · 22/03/2011 21:45

evening, how is everyone?
I need to read through and have a catch up. No news from here, af due thurs, haven't tested and won't do till friday if its late. I really don't like feeling like i'm in limbo.
Got to go to the dentist tomorrow and i reckon she'll tell me I need a filling, something was feeling very tender whilst brushing my teeth this morning! Am just trying to tke my mind off things at the mo.

Ellangirl you sound more positive about things, hope you and pink both get somewhere without having to spend £6k each.

Hello to everyone else too, hope people aren't feeling too down. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny here and i shall follow the weathers lead. I may even shave my armpits and legs in case they see some daylight.

right, off to catch up x

ellangirl · 22/03/2011 17:48

That's better than my DH at least Grin That's why I want to see the consultant sooner rather than later, if she says it'll never happen again naturally, then I've got my answer. We'd have to take out a loan too, or sometimes I think they let you pay it off over a year or something interest free. Either way, I can't carry on knowing the chances are virtually nil. I feel so much better doing something proactive.

PinkCustard · 22/03/2011 17:02

He had about 27% motile, but about 12% of those were non-progressive so they won't be much cop.

You've actually got me thinking and if DH's results haven't improved, and depending on my results and what the consultant has to say, we might look into ICSI. I just don't think I can give up on having another baby without doing everything we can. It would mean getting a loan and of course there's no guarantee it would be successful, but if we're told at our next consultation that we're unlikely to conceive naturally I would seriously start persuading DH that assisted conception would be our next step. Haven't really considered that seriously before, but by June we will have been trying for 18 months so if we haven't been lucky by then we would have to decide on our next plan of action I think.

ellangirl · 22/03/2011 15:48

Of course pink, I forgot you already had a child. What was his motility do you know? There are some success stories out there on the web about improving things.

PinkCustard · 22/03/2011 15:18

I understand, we wouldn't be eligible for any treatment either as we already have a child together so basically our only hope is that DH's sperm improves or that the last sample was a rogue result.

Beginning to feel despondent though as we've been at it so long with no joy, but as the consultant said, nothing's changed with DH's health since we conceived DS and he may have had the same motility result previously, and 'it only takes 1' etc etc...

ellangirl · 22/03/2011 14:51

pink we'd have to pay for private IVF regardless, as we already have a child. It really sucks, but I do understand that priority should be given to those that don't have any children. We're paying for a private consultation to jump the waiting list basically, because we just can't wait 12 months to get some answers. I think it's about £160 to be seen privately for an initial consultation. Believe me it's not like we've got money to burn! I'm just so desperate to know what to do next. Let us know if those vitamins make a difference- I've got my DH on them!

PinkCustard · 22/03/2011 13:52

Thanks for the advice - AF due around next Monday so yesterday's blood sample might be valid but am doing 2nd one on Thursday which should have things covered. He also ordered the same for next month too, so hopefully between the 4 samples they should be able to tell us something.

Ellangirl my DH had a poor sample, with low motility. He's having a 2nd one done next month (3 months after the 1st one) so will see whether all the vitamins etc etc have made any difference (fingers crossed). I'd love to go private and definitely would if we could afford it but there's just no way at the moment. Depressing.

ellangirl · 22/03/2011 09:44

Morning all. So, lots of thinking about what to do now following such awful news about DH's swimmers (or non-swimmers as it happens). My friend and SIL have both been through IVF/ICSI, so have given lots of advice, and realistically that is our best option for having another child. The waiting list to see fertility consultant here is apparently 12 months I've been told by the secretary there, so have requested private consultation and should prob be seen some time in April. Thinking of ways to save up for treatment- about £6000-eeek!! In the meantime, if a miracle happens and I get pregnant great, but I need to focus on something to keep me going.
ninja you ok?
queenrollo I know how you're feeling! Fingers crossed for good news for you and your DH.
hardandsleazy sorry you're having such a run of bad news. I know counts can go up and down. 0% motility is pretty awful though! Even if it goes up a bit it still only gives us such a small chance. Don't blame you for falling off the wagon- it does seem so futile sometimes! Ditto bex :o
lissie welcome back- it's so much safer not to look at other (stupid) conception threads- just stay here...

queenrollo · 22/03/2011 09:24

bex to make you feel better about my DH getting seen so quickly - I have just phoned to make him an appt and the earliest one free is the end of April. She said there was no point trying for the other clinics as she checked and they are booked up until the end of June. This appt was only free as they had a cancellation of it just before I phoned [lucky emoticon]
I've put him on the cancellation list just in case something comes up sooner than he can fit into his diary, but his work is very busy and short notice cancellation of meetings not really possible so it looks like we'll have to go with what we have.

queenrollo · 22/03/2011 08:33

DH collected his 'kit' from the GP yesterday. He can only make an appt to drop off sample on two weekday mornings, so this is going to mean co-ordinating time off work.
He's nervous, really worrying about what the results are going to be.
I just want to know, i'm sick of wondering why it's not working. I need to have some control over this so I can stop sending myself crazy every month.

Hardandsleazy · 21/03/2011 20:45

Hello all ESP lissie - another month in hut as af here. I think I might move in...Ellen been meaning to post dh had bad results too . Is now having veins checked (ruled out infection etc)- but counts can go up and down a lot apparently (prob explains fact between me and dh ex have been 8 pregnancies and 4 children although I passed away so not entirely duff). Hello to everyone else- off wagon over weekend -'am climbing on at Easter as will make serious efforts for few months.. Tho do wonder what fucjing point is [pours herself large gin]

Bexamundo · 21/03/2011 19:15

I fell off the wagon big time on Saturday (bil's 40th birthday). Only.consolation is that I didn't drink Friday AND Saturday. I agree if you know when you ovulate go a week after. I was unnecessarily stressed with inaccurate blood results from going on.the wrong day (I didn't Chart at the time).

ellangirl · 21/03/2011 18:12

Don't bother going until 7 days after you ovulated pink, the test is supposed to be done 6-8 days before af arrives. Hope that helps!

PinkCustard · 21/03/2011 14:01

Hello everyone,

I'm due to go and give a day 21 blood sample this afternoon (although actually it's day 23 as day 21 was Saturday). It doesn't matter though as my cycles are slightly longer than average and according to my CBFM I ovulated last Thursday. Will the test today be too early to check for ovulation only 4 days after the event? Although I had told the consultant that my cycles vary in length from 28-35 days so he also ordered day 26 blood tests too, so will be going along again on Thursday which will be 7 days after ovulation which should be exactly right for the test. I can think of better ways to spend my time though Hmm

I'm not feeling too loopy yet in this 2ww but I know it's only a matter of time and I usually work myself up into a mental frenzy by the time AF is actually due. Really hoping we've been lucky this month (but beginning to doubt it will ever be our month).

How is everyone else?

broccolitrees · 21/03/2011 10:14

aaww lissieSad i hear you....

OracleInaCoracle · 21/03/2011 09:56

hi broccoli, after my last mc I was too despondant for even the hut. I was frustrated and upset and felt pretty useless. i know that people dont want to hear my story, they want to be told that it will be ok in the end iykwim, so i thought it was best that i stay away from conception for a while.

how are you all?

broccolitrees · 20/03/2011 21:36
