My ds is now 8 months and was an IVF baby it took us 7 years of IVF and 10 attempts which is why i want to start again soon as it may take a while again. I wondered if any one else was having fertility treatment at around the same time

Suss

I am so glad that you are going for it again and March/April will come round so quickly.

I go for my first scan on Tuesday to see how the follicles are developing. Have been a bit up and down over the last couple of days as alot of the discomfort I was having has gone and I have been really worried that I might have ovulated prematurley, butI rang the clinic this morning and they have tried to reassure me as best they can that all is OK. Will just have to wait and see. If all is OK on Tuesday I will hopefully be going in for EC on Thursday and again if all goes OK I will have ET next Sunday, but at the moment I can hardly look beyond tomorrow.

I will keep you posted on how I am getting on.

suss · 14/01/2006 21:47

Wendy I hope you are still there - I would love know how things are going for you - Saw consultant yesterday going for March/April.

I hope you had a good christmas too and I wish you a very happy new year and you get what you wish for. Let me know how you are getting on.

Suss

Hello if you are around. How are you? I hope you have had a good Christmas. Just wanted to let you know that I am still thinking about you and hope that your next go brings you great joy.

suss · 14/12/2005 09:08

Oh poor you about the drug dose, what is it about IVF clinics and hospitals that make life so difficult, it's not like its stressful enough without it. But you do have enough time to sort it out. I can understand totally why you don't want another due date in February, i was the same after my m/c, which was at nine weeks and nothing like what you went through. Not long to go before you start sniffing I am keeping everything crossed for you.

Hi suss

Glad you have booked a review appointment to get the ball rolling. Its funny you should say you have got pg twice in April. Both my pgs have been conceived in May but because we lost both of them we have decided to try at another time of the year. I couldn't face having another due date in February.

My schedule for treatment finally arrived this morning but.......there is always a but.....we arranged with our consultant to try a higher dose of puregon to try and get more eggs, hopefully more choice for putting back but the nursing staff have made out my schedule for a low dose!! Of couse the clinic is closed today but I will be ringing first thing in the morning to try and get this sorted out. They are going to love me ringing with a query on a Sunday. We need to order the drugs from the hospital pharmacy and I am supposed to start sniffing the synarel on Wednesday 21st December with a possiblke EC date of 19th January.

Keep in touch

suss · 08/12/2005 21:21

Have just made appointment with consultant in January for next try - which will be in march/april, probably April as I have got pregnant twice in April!

Successful I have just read your thread - B*d I presume it was a bloke? I find there are two types really really nice or so far up themselves they think they are god's gift. I have one of the latter at the ACU I am at, but luckily the other two consultants are really nice. Are you going to try again somewhere else? Please don't give up.

Wendy, I am with you all the way - you remind me of me! V determined, its going to happen and I think you are right not wanting to wait. So keep us posted. No frosties, never do, as after so many attempts they don't bother, so its the whole thing again next year.

OP posts:
suss · 05/12/2005 21:09

I did test twice both negative, infact the second test I could hardly read because of all the blood. Its ok though because I am v determined and like Wendy I will try and try again until we are successful and B*er the expense. Infact Thank God we can afford it. As there is a minute chance that I could become pregnant naturally perhaps we should start trying inbetween IVF attempts again. We stopped seriously trying about two years before DS was born as it was all getting to pressured, but maybe....

PruniStuffing · 05/12/2005 17:30

Sorry suss. How many dpt are you? Is it worth testing before giving up on the cyclogest? Just to be sure? I always do.
It really is sh*t, having to go through this, believe me I know how it feels. Take care.

wendy11 · 05/12/2005 16:58

Oh Suss I am so sorry things didn't work out for you. It is heartbreaking. Take time to recover from this knock back and then think to the future. Do you have any frosties or would you have to do a fresh cycle? I pray that you will get what you want some day.

Successful - how insensitive can consultants get. You would think they are dealing with people like us who have fertility issues every day of the week and would have a more gentle approach. Do you have any plans for future treatment?

I know we conceived naturally after five/six year of trying and even though our little boy is not with us at least we achived a natural pg but I don't want to risk waiting another five/six years for it not to happen again naturally so that is why we are going down the IVF route. Our GP told us that although we did conceive naturally that unexplained infertility just means they haven't found out what the problem is and there has to be something wrong somewhere for us not to be falling pg and advised us to go back to IVF. We are really luck to have a fantastic GP and fertility consultant - both very witty which makes all the difference

I am just waiting for our treatment plan to come in the post. I always seem to be waiting for the postman these days. Hope to start sniffing the synarel about the 21st December - Christams lunch and hot flushes - how lovely!!

Once again, suss I am really sorry that you treatment has not worked this time, but you don't know what the future holds and the New Year will hopefully bring you better news. Take care. xx

successful · 05/12/2005 12:56

Suss I am so sorry and I DO know what you are going through.

We have just had follow up appt (after FET failure) and consultant to us to go away, buy a bottle of wine and have intercourse 2/3 times a week. I just cried, how insensitive

Hope you feel better soon. x

Wendy11 hope things going ok with you too.

suss · 05/12/2005 09:26

No it didn't work, the bleeding just got heavier and then I started getting night sweats because the progesterone was just slowing up my period so I stopped the pessaries. I don't think I'll bother with a test seems v unlikely. How's it going with you?

OP posts:
wendy11 · 02/12/2005 18:12

Suss

I am really hoping now that all will be OK for you. If it is slowing off it could be a really good sign. I know it is impossible to read anything into the many aches and pains we have after EC and ET but is there anything that makes you think one way or the other?

My af arrived late on the afternoon of the 30th November but I took it that the first full day of af wasn't until the 1st Dec and put that date on my form. Probably telling a little white lie but I just want to get started and really don't want to wait for an af to come at the end of the month. Just waiting yet again for the hospital to send out our treatment schedule. I noticed on the letter that it said they would do all they could to accommodate our dates but that it may be necessary to reschedule if they are up to capacity - that will probably happen to us knowing the luck we have been having over the last while. Oh well our luck is bound to change at some point!!

Keep thinking positive and let me know how you are getting on.

suss · 01/12/2005 20:44

Thanks for your post Wendy. I don't think its got any worse, and may have even got a bit better, but I don't want to now get all excited again. I have bled early before but it was very different, this is v slight, almost just pink with brown streaks, before it was bright red and lots of it. Yes it would have been about six dpt. I definately didn't have any bleeding when I was pregnant both times before. We will just have to wait and see. Did you af arrive as expected or is it late ,mine was always late when I was starting a cycle.

Please don't give up yet. I lurk on an IVF board and so many have had bleeding from spotting to full flow and gone on to have a good outcome, but I guess we all know our own bodies and I know you have been through this so many times before that you expect the worst.

In the past did you start bleeding early when it was not successful? Does that make you just 6 dpt when you started bleeding? No chance it could be an implantation bleed? I will continue to hope that things are OK for you, but if not have a good cry and focus on your next attempt.

If this one doesn't work for us we will go again around May time.

I will keep checking up on you.

suss · 30/11/2005 21:19

Wendy, it hasn't worked, atleast I am pretty sure, I started bleeding today, not much, but it didn't happen before. The hospital tell me to ignore it for the next couple of days and keep taking the pessaries but I don't hold out much hope. So, in the interest of statstistics that means you are now most likely to be successful! We will try again in March or April, but keep posting I want to hear from you. Take care.

Hope everything is going well for you. I don't think there is anything that can keep your mind off what is going on. It is always there.

I will be sniffing synarel starting day 21 of cycle for about 3 weeks and then injecting puregon, so still a while to go yet before I even think about EC ot ET.

suss · 28/11/2005 21:12

Thats just fab news! You must be so relieved to know that its actually happening I am sending loads and loads of luck. What sort of drugs are you taking. Are you sniffing or injecting?
I thought that having DS would keep my mind off it but it doesn't! Like you I did vast amounts of rest each time so I am paranoid that I am doing too much. Keep posting

Glad all went well at ET. Rest as much as you can. My consultant told me it would't matter what I did in the 2ww - if they were going to implant they would and if they were not they wouldn't. Have to say I still rested as much as possible. I really hope this works out for you.

Well my letter finally arrived for the clinic today - at long last. Mind you I did have to ring on a daily basis over the last week and pester them to get it. I think I spoke to a different person each day and I was just getting fobbed off so finally got to speak to the person who actually issues the letters on Friday and hey presto letter arrived today. Just the issue of when af will arrive. Due on Thursday 1st December so if it arrives early I am going to be waiting for my next af as it has got to be a date in December. Did you ever hear of anything so unbelievable. Oh the joys of IVF

Take care and let me know how you are getting on.

suss · 27/11/2005 20:32

two embies put back thursday am, test date ha, you wee on a stick at home 14 days later and phone in your result. I wish I could take it easy but my DB is being v busy at the moment hope it doesn't do any harm, you see, still paranoid. Any news on your letter? i keep thinking about it as its almost December and its all so hard to get pysched up to do it, I hope it comes soon.

15 fertilised is fantasitic!! I hope all went well at ET and that you are taking things really easy. Keep those positive vibes going to your litle embryos. I will keep you in my thoughts. I know how looooong the 2ww can be, but every day is a day nearer finding out. Have you got a test date? Keep resting!!!

suss · 23/11/2005 20:35

Thanks Wendy - I had 23 eggs and 15 fertilised which is really good. I am going for my ET tomorrow morning, I am having two embryos put back and then the dreaded 2 week wait. Ha ve you had any news yet?
