Had an mc and need some wine, chocolate and somewhere to moan and cry? This is the place to be! We chat a LOT so it can be hard to keep up, but everyone on here is great and will hold your hand until you get your BFP.

Evening all, I agree with Nix, i would never dream of complaining about symptoms - I would be mortified if I ever sounded like I was. Actually, does eating a whole chocolate penguin count as a symptom? The other threads are full of people giving birth which seems such an unreal concept to me at the moment, when I'm taking it a day at a time, so thank you for your continued much needed support Grin

Lady I am my own worst enemy with too much time on my hands, I have currently borrowed a jigsaw for attempted distraction. And yes it is definitely a symptom

Jigglebum I am so sorry you have needed to find yourself here, but these ladies are lovely and will make you very welcome

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 28/12/2010 22:34

Jiggles sorry for your loss it's hideous I know. You have cone to the right place these girls are wonderful! X welcome xx

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 28/12/2010 22:31

Kat step away from the due threads :)

Xx

Try my form of self torture, 16 and pregnant! Or my latest was "I didn't know I was pg"!!

Bee no worries lovely, paranoid extraordinaire at the beet of times :) I would dearly love more symptoms tho :) does throwing up post brushing teeth count? Hope so :) totally agree poor form! Have to really bite my Tongue on some of the conception/pg threads and very often want to rant 'don't you know how lucky you are to be pregnant at all ?' ra ra ra ! 2ww sounds good, liking the bonafide symptoms!! Sure thing!

Izz and pink you will get therebabes' xxx

jigglebum · 28/12/2010 21:40

Hi - hope I can join?! I have lots of Christmas chocolate to share!

Had a MC last tuesday at 11 weeks, 2nd pregnancy (have a DS who is 2) and although not quite ready to try again yet we are hoping not to wait too long and you ladies seem a friendly bunch to join. Also nice to have a place to discuss MC and TTC openly as we were just waiting for the 12 week scan until we told people in RL so, apart from parents and DH (who has been utterly fab thoughout) noone else really knows.

Have a scan to check everything is ok again next weds so hoping all cleared naturally. Never realised that MC could be quite so traumatic, both physically and emotionally so sympathies to all on this thread.

Had been TTC for nearly a year so really hoping it happens more quickly when we start trying again. Although already terrified of the same things happening again now it happened once.

Sorry very self centred post, think I needed to share with people other than DH.

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 28/12/2010 21:31

Hehe Izz don't stress, I know exactly what you mean - absolutely no offence caused Xmas Grin

kat glad to hear I'm not the only one that does things that are clearly a bad idea!! We'll get on a grad thread eventually, it just won't be called Jan / Feb 2011....

Had 10 yo cousin over for the weekend - I love him to pieces but in a way grateful for the peace now - perhaps my ttc mentalling is misplaced afterall!!! Have no idea how you mums deal with that all the time!

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 28/12/2010 21:26

ladybee definitely definitely a bona fide symptom

LadybeenKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2010 21:08

Well done for resisting Izz - yeah, I feel quite chilled about the long term-ness approach too. I do think when you first start out, there just this overwhelming urge to get back what you lost. And for some it obviously does happen quickly and that's fantastic, but for lots of people it's a longer journey I think I've accepted that's how it's going to be for me this time.

I am a mad women this 2ww though, for no other reason that it took 5 months in total to get pg with DS and 5 months to get my first pg this year. So obviously I'm hoping I don't break that deadline this time around, but quite sure I will. Think it's worse because I'm at home, not working so more time to Dwell.

Oh and nix I knew as soon as typed it that you'd be paranoid I was accusing you of complaining about symptoms, I wasn't, I was just putting it out there in a very general non-specific way that it could be considered Poor Form on this thread Grin

Right, another symptom that can't possibly be a symptom. Sort-of odd breathless, rib-not-quite-in-the-right-place pain. What d'ya reckon. Definitely pregnant, right?

No?
Hmmm. Give me one of those chocolates then.

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 28/12/2010 20:29

kat - I repeat my advice above to pink - now step away from the AN threads!!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 28/12/2010 20:26

I think we did join about the same time...I had my "bad news" 16 wk appt on 9 July and ERPC on the 13th, came here a few weeks later. So I think we've been muddling through together for quite a while and I have to admit I do find it comforting that I'm not the only one approaching veteran status still hanging around!

Disclaimer (because that may have sounded awful and it wasn't meant to!): obviously I would love you (and everyone else) to move on to grad status - and I'm so so sorry about the cp last cycle Xmas Sad because I would have loved that to have worked out for you. I just meant I appreciate you and the others being here while you are iykwim.

I also know exactly what you mean re calmness affecting cycles - I'm hoping a more philosophical attitude will help. After all, ds and dd took 8-9 months to conceive and I'm up to 6 now so maybe my time (and yours!) will come soon.

Now step away from the Jan 2011 thread - that way madness lies!!!

still crossing my fingers for you on Thurs chica!!

kat2504 · 28/12/2010 20:03

Pink, I've done just the same on the due in February thread. Why I don't know. It does hurt to see what I'm missing out on. I try to stop myself but have done it about once a month. Is very crap.

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 28/12/2010 18:36

I think thats one reason i have stuck around, the people i have got to know, more than the support i get! (but that just goes without saying!) i hope i still manage to give back too!! I would die if anyone thought i was complaining of symptoms.... i wish i had more to complain about Grin i dont fit with the grads thread atm, all the ladies are giving birth (which is wonderful!) and whilst am sure they are happy to help i still feel a little intimidated to ask for advice/guidance! I did have a little chuckle though to see there was a little bickering about the list, funny to see it doesnt just happen on here!!

Tis a while since we joined, i have been on here since August. It wont be for much longer ladies, that bfp is just around the corner i can smell it! pink hope you have stopped pecking that ulcer, mean this in the nicest possible way, please stop torturing yourself by visiting due in Jan 2011 Smile

Very pleased to hear prettys news...hope those feet are up and your drukcs are kicking in xxxx

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 28/12/2010 18:26

Hey izz did we join this thread at the same time? I think I've been around for about 6 months too - scary eh, time really does fly....! I was starting to move to a more sustainable long-term TTC position too until stupid CP last month, hopefully can get myself back on an even keel again quickly, think my level of chilledness definitely affects how long my cycles are.

Hope you're all having a nice chilled out Christmas, I'm thinking I should go and switch on my work blackberry though.... Xmas Hmm

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 28/12/2010 16:44

nix that's really annoying about the epu, but great news about the brown goo stopping, and you will see much more on Thursday. Try not to panic, I'll be thinking of you x

hope you're feeling better bee

I second ladybee about not wanting to hurry you off the thread. It must be terrifying and personally I think it's great if we can carry on providing support in those scary early days. Also from a selfish point of view I've got to know some of you quite well over the last six ( six - !!) months and would miss you if you vanished now!!!

. Actually feeling quite stoical about it this time. I've stopped expecting that bfp every month and started to see it more as a long-term plan. TTC is becoming a way of life. How sad is that Xmas Sad

LadybeenKissingSantaClaus · 28/12/2010 13:40

Nix and Orange (and pretty!) my take on this is that you are welcome to stay for as long as you feel that our support is helpful, especially as it's so worrying in the early days or you're feeling very superstitious about 'jinxing' by moving on to the pregnancy board. But don't forget that all the ladies on the graduates thread have been through exactly what you're going through, the fear and worry and it can be very reassuring to see lots of ladies who have miscarried all at different stages of successful pregnancies. I think possibly the only rule is not too much complaining about pregnancy symptoms Grin because as you know, we'd all give our eye teeth to have those rather than pesky ol' 2ww ones Envy

I'm feeling quite a lot better today still tired but not completely knocked out like I was yesterday. Should go and pay attention to my family..although they all seem quite happily occupied. Hurrah, online sales then Grin

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 28/12/2010 10:32

Ok finally got through, the midwives most unhelpful. EPU closed today, was open yesterday (despite being told it was shut!) so now cant get an apt til thursday.... which i have WHOOPEE!

Arsecrackers that we missed yesterday though!

The MW did say that its very likely to be old implantation blood but will see....!

That means you have got me wittering for another couple of days yet!! Smile

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 28/12/2010 10:17

would be going to the epu....if only i could get through Angry

Urm heres hoping a fetish hasnt formed inside me.... preferably a fetus that has....no idea what a stipple sac is !! and sadly i hadnt been drinking!!! ah yes i remember i was saying last time the fetus hadnt formed and my body had held onto a stoopid sac! Doh

Pink....stop pecking at that ulcer!
Dont go orange..... I have stayed... but then i never did get the hang of understanding when had outstayed my welcome Xmas Grin

Izzy well done for getting trolleyed! Naughty DS and no you arent too old! Sorry the red witch got you lovely i thought it was your month :( xx

Thanks for the vote of confidence HK, i hope so too... if i can ever get hold of them!!

Threw up this morning, does it count when you choke on your toothpaste?! Grin

DontEatOrangeSnow · 28/12/2010 05:55

Morning all. Home time for us today, I am really looking forward to my own bed :) and Sky telly Grin

Izzy damn the red witch, I hope that's the last visit and she stays away next month
Lady I hope you're feeling better soon, do you have time off that you can rest? I feel like I've been dodging colds left right and centre at the mo
Pink I can't say anything, it's hard not to look. I had a tentative browse yesterday for advice, and saw there was a May bus and remembered I should have been on the April bus :(

HongKongSantaBaby · 28/12/2010 04:26

sorry - trying to write faster than brain works, which is not very fast actually, I mean Izzy bummer that AF arrived, with every day that passes you are getting closer to that bean though!

Sorry for confusing everyone, put it down to too much festive sherry....

Not much computer time this week as DH is on holiday which is really great and hate to tell you but we have lovely sunshine and blue skies with a refreshing chill in the air here in HK so its the place to be I reckon!

HongKongSantaBaby · 27/12/2010 23:43

oh forgot to say snowy fab news on BFP and phew about the drugs

HongKongSantaBaby · 27/12/2010 23:42

Hello you lot, wow so much happening over these festive few days!

Nix are you going for your scan today? I hope you come out with a big smile on your face, I am sure you will

Ladybeen I'm 35 and my OBGYN here in HK has advised me to give it 6 months then 'seek some help'. He says 80% of couples will conceive in this time. I don't know if he factors in age to this. We pay for healthcare here so doctors are a bit more gung ho about getting involved here than would be on NHS I think. For me it will be end of Feb and then go in to see OBGYN. Its scary to think of going down assisted conception route for various reasons not least cost but in my view you have nothing to lose by going for tests anyway.

Pink bummer that AF arrived, with every day that passes you are getting closer to that bean though!

Gotta go all DD just woken up. Hello to everyone else.

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 27/12/2010 23:23

lady it's EXACTLY like a papercut!! Or when you know you've got a mouth ulcer and when it stops hurting you put your tongue on it to check if it still stings........ Urghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghg

LadybeenKissingSantaClaus · 27/12/2010 23:11

Oh Pink it's like poking a papercut to see whether it still hurts.

I stroll nonchalantly past the grads thread every so often...it feels further and further away with each month.

chin up lady. You will get there by hook or by crook.

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 27/12/2010 22:52

Why did I just go on the due Jan 2011 thread??? Why would any sane person do that???? Guess I was just wondering what my life would be like now, out of interest..... Xmas Angry Xmas Sad Xmas Angry Xmas Sad Feel predictably sad and pissed off now.....

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 27/12/2010 22:45

Xmas Grin at pink milk lady, that is so sweet! Sorry no idea about referrals, am under 30 (not that it makes any difference.... Xmas Sad) Would have thought it's worth going to GP and asking for a referral anyway, no harm? Fingers crossed feeling grim is a sign!

Hahaha nix your message is very intriguing! Not sure whether they are typos or not!!! I'm betting my pile of Christmas chocolates on it being old blood. Want to raise me??

izz sorry about AF. LOL about DS - definitely hard stare as probably worth him getting the hang of that not being good chat, to any woman, of any age Xmas Grin. Sorry you're feeling gloomy, it sucks eh?

hey hiding good work on the swi - here's hoping for you, being able to announce at DP's birthday would be lovely.

LadybeenKissingSantaClaus · 27/12/2010 22:21

Izzy. Your DS deserves a Hard Stare for that question.

But you've reminded me of a question I meant to ask the combined wisdom (that's yous lot).

If you're over 35 and are coming up/have reached cycle 6, are you going to go in for fertility checks?

I'm cycle 5, so basically have one more shot next cycle and then should really go in for referral - that's what my PCOS consultant said - 6 months trying, don't leave it longer than that. And I think that's a standard timeframe now for NHS referral for over 35s isn't it? Just wondering?
