Had an mc and need some wine, chocolate and somewhere to moan and cry? This is the place to be! We chat a LOT so it can be hard to keep up, but everyone on here is great and will hold your hand until you get your BFP.

Hello knitter! Unfortunately I think all you can do in that situation is waitXmas Smile. Good luck though!

Hello all. have had such a busy weekend, with rather more alcohol than is ever permitted on a 2ww. I feel really bad for it today, but it is christmas, I suppose.

Had a temp dip this morning, but haven't taken the last 2 days, and also I slept really badly this morning, and know I was awake at 440, and took my temp at 555, so don't know how accurate that will be. Am 11 dpo. Had a single tiny pink flash yesterday, but nothing else.

How are you feeling nix?

KnitterNotTwitter · 13/12/2010 10:21

Can I post a 'maybe' and ask for some supportive cuddles.... AF is due today and as yet no sightings.... But I did a test this morning and no second line....

My cycles used to be 31 days but have been 25-28 since the ectopic and then the miscarriage. So maybe I had a longer cycle again this month? Which might mean that AF is still going to turn up of course.... I'm not going to test again until the end of the week which will be 32 days.

If it is a BFP then we still can't get too excited yet... the next stage is the 5/6 week scan to see if it is in the right place, and then there will be the 8 week hurdle to get over which is when the baby I miscarried started struggling.

DontEatOrangeSnow · 13/12/2010 08:15

Megamind is out but doesn't look very girly...

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 13/12/2010 07:11

DontEatOrangeSnow · 13/12/2010 07:03

hiding CD22 - Sorry she's causing you such bother, damn the red witch

tunnocks did their visit go ok? Was everything to standard?! I've been a nightmare this weekend knowing AF is due. Sorry about the 20 week mark, I know that Xmas I should have been either 24 or 29 weeks depending on pg's - it's hard not to think like that only natural I think (((hugs)))

Thanks izzy and AandR think i'll test Weds then it's my first official missed day. I just hope I get that far, I have cramps already :( AandR fx for Friday for you

Which reminds me First Response is BOGOF in Boots at the mo!

dAncerandRudolfsMum · 12/12/2010 22:15

Any suggestions of a good movie to take a 4year old to (very good concentration and very girly - how did that happen?!) DD1 is going to the movies as a special birthday treat with a friend of mine and I need to decide on the movie! Sorry for off thread request - I am just a bit nervous of heading out into the wider world of mn!!

HidingUnderTheTreeWithSanta · 12/12/2010 22:06

Thanks for the hugs guys!

I've always had pretty short cycles. They had settled to 26 days after 9 months of tcc but I've had 22 days before so am not hugely surprised. It's def heavier then spotting and I had a temp drop this morning so unless a miraculous change happens over night i am accepting that it is af.

AandR, I am a total mooncup convert. I had been against them for years until I had my mirena taken out to ttc and remembered that dispite having short cycles I have pretty heavy periods and it was horrible. I tried the mooncup as a last resort as I'd heard they were good for heavy periods and it is amazing! Took me a couple of months to get the hang of putting it in but now I wouldn't go back to towels or tampons.

tunnock I just got my thermometer from boots, it does beep but not very loudly. Though I was thinking the other morning that it would be really handy if it had a light up display so I could read it in the dark.

dAncerandRudolfsMum · 12/12/2010 21:07

Hi All, what a mad weekend - just finished serving roast for 7 - how did that happen?!?! Nix you thread cranberries and popcorn on string and wrap it around the tree - very pretty. Izzy it is writing what will hopefully be 'best practice' for project managing PPP contracts to be integrated into a very cool google like software for contracts. It sounds a bit dry but it is a bit like writing an 'Idiots Guide' and it is quite creative as I need to make full use of new iPad technology to present info in a new way.

Orange we are not far off each other, I ov'd on day15 and so I wont test until Friday 15dpo. I am also trying not to symptom spot - random success only because have been a bit preoccupied. I like the sound of your DH - sparkly prezzies are lurvley.
Hiding which cycle are you on, is it full on af? I guess it means you get a new shot sooner - (vaguely greyish silver lining [hconfused] Never tried mooncups - I'm not even sure I know how you would go about using one?!
Tunnock fx for that af to turn up in full force with all the appropriate bells on it. As for BIL - I hope you have more patience than me - I hate that sort of rubbish. I guess he has rather low self esteem if he needs to 'prove' himself so much. Not enough icing - grrr just what you need - I would have dumped it on his head!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 12/12/2010 18:08

rude not ryde - where did that one come from?!

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 12/12/2010 18:06

tunnock I have babymad thermometer from amazon which was cheap and seems to work ok - but it does beep so I'm not sure if that's any good for you? Keep calm...and breathe...

orange I would test at 14dpo, although I know lots of people get bfps before then! Good luck!!

aandr that all sounds fab - can you share re the business? We would love to know what you're doing!

nix how's it going, pg lady?! Hope you're not stressing!

Big (((hugs))) to hiding and anyone else needing them - sorry af got you, she is particularly ryde when she turns up early (or late, come to think of it) Xmas Sad

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 12/12/2010 17:39

Hiding :( gosh CD22 is early :( are you sure its def AF or spotting?

Rubbish red witch go away :(

teacake dont you just love family members like that?!?!

HidingUnderTheTreeWithSanta · 12/12/2010 14:45

Howdy all. Just started af I think on cd22 which is a bit early but not completely unheard of for me. Though I did have to do emergency mooncup boiling as I was expecting it to turn up quite yet.

Bugger buggeration and buggeryness. I really thought we might have done it this month Sad

Oooh exciting AR... do tell :) something to do with your creativity no doubt. Fab you had a great party.... mmm straw?

Currently cooking roast dinner YUM with all the trimmings while DS is destroying my freshly cleaned kitchen, painting himself and a picture!! Mega sort out time i think.

mama glad you didnt nearly eat teacake and that you have had a good weekend and feeling more positive. We all have meltdowns, perfectly entitled {fgrin]

dAncerandRudolfsMum · 12/12/2010 11:10

Oops hit post button prematurely! Just was going to report back that your positive vibes did the job and as long as we can agree terms I am on my way to starting a new business in the New Year - more interesting than I imagined it would be! So I am betting on better star alignment for all of us in 2011!!

dAncerandRudolfsMum · 12/12/2010 11:06

mamac tunnock and all others against 2010 - I am jumping on the bandwagon. It has been pretty shitty for us on all sorts of levels. I keep trying the whole - at least the basics are fine - food on the table, lovely dh and dcs etc but it is like when DMum used to say 'Think of the starving children in Africa' - it just doesn't change what is on the table. Oh well I like the idea of sun after rain- it smells soooo good. My Dsis clairvoyant told her the planets are all misaligned for 2010 causing all this chaos - I don't generally buy into such things of course [rueful emoticon]

You have inspired me Nix we have just collected our tree. I have popcorn and cranberries ready for decorating.

I'll do a proper read through a bit later - we had a fantastic dd1 birthday yesterday. Didn't end up needing any party games - a stable full of straw kept them well occupied! My

MamaChristmas · 12/12/2010 09:05

Morning!

Teacake I was at waddeston manor yesterday and I couldn't help but smile amd think of you when I saw tunnocks tea cake on the menu. Hope you're doing ok chick.

X factor tonight, my money's on Rebecca!

Have good day all and thank you for being so understanding and supportive over my friday melt down xxx

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 12/12/2010 07:53

Teacake! I use the babymade one off amazon. Its pink! Only cost 6 quid, takes a couple of mins to beep but is cheap and works! I bought a couple in case i misplaced one!! Sorry you are experiencing Post EPRC problems lovely, its not good cos you cant draw a line under it and move on :( I hope you get some reassuring tests done, failing that can use your bupa! ((((hugs))))

DontEatOrangeSnow · 12/12/2010 05:38

Morning everyone, how has the weekend been so far?

DH came back yesterday with a lovely present of necklace and bracelet Xmas Grin

Could I have some advice on when to test? I'm on CD26 but reckon I OV on day 14 this month of a pre-mc 5 week cycle. Last time pg I got 1st symptom when I was 8 days late and had tested negative until then. I neeeeed a plan of action or I'll go crazy with testing and overthinking Blush I even dreamt I'd tested positive last night :(

izzy nix and everyone else I agree tis been a year I won't mind putting behind me. In looking forward to a fresh start and hope maybe relaxing over Xmas will produce some BFPs for new year Xmas Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 11/12/2010 19:01

(((hugs))) to tunnocksteacakes sorry your body's playing tricks on you, I can't really add anything to what mummya has already said; she is the oracle and does know her stuff. I hope you either get af soon or find a dr to give you some answers. Good thinking re the private referral.

ladybee hope the manflu doesn't last too long Xmas Sad. Make sure your dh waits on you hand and foot while you recover Xmas Wink

LadybeenKissingSantaClaus · 11/12/2010 16:14

Hello I am dying of a man cold, sniff snuffle, have taken to my bed but am still panicking about complete lack of Christmas shopping, and enormous workload next week. Ugh and parties and secret Santa none of which have been prepared for.

I have to share with you all a moment I had at boots while stocking up on lovely lovely drugs - some poor lady was asking for emergency contraception in front of a big queue and with an assistant who didn't understand hee so she kept having to repeat it over and over to everyones embarrassment. One part of me was feeling sorry for her squirming, but another (nastier) part wanted to say "hah! Do you have any idea how unlikely it is that you are pregnant? do you even know where you are in your cycle?" the rubbIsh thing is that I could have made a bet with ther that she wasn't and would have lost it because that is how my 2010 has been.

mamac I have every sympathy for your rant - in fact on wednesday with a good friend I was saying much the same thing. Lots of people I know have had truly horrible years, I just hope that 2011 balances things out for us all.

On a slightly more cheerful note I love the mental image I have of pink and izzy having read the zen producing book - something like a cross between earth mother and bill bailey in black books having swallowed the little book of calm.

MummyBellsAllTheWay · 11/12/2010 13:29

Hi teacake you have my full sympathy, its an absolute nightmare waiting for your body to catch up and get back to normal, I really hope your wait doesnt turn out to be as long as mine!

I agree that the 6 month wait is nonsense. I was told the same by my GP after the birth of DS when I had no periods, what it really means is that it is policy to refer you for investigations after 6 months, but from a health point of view that is not right at all. In Costa Rica when I saw a private gyne, she said that it was very important to kick start periods because having a long gap (more than 3 months) could cause other secondary problems, like cysts, endometriosis amoung others. One loophole that GP's have is that if it becomes a health issue rather than purely a fertility matter they can do more, so you could either lie and say you have unexplained pain that needs investigating which would get you a scan (not much good for you as you have just had one) or cry and say it is effecting your mental well being.(I am sure it IS so you probably dont need to exaggerate too much there!)

You still have two more weeks to go before you hit the 12 week mark, when I would really start to investigate/push for treatment, but in the meantime I really recommend that you start charting (DS wakes me up in the night too, just try to take it as soon as you wake whatever time it is) Sorry to use the scary word, but I am going to have to mention Ashermans here, you really need to rule that out and your GP wont be any help at all and probably wont even know what it is (and if they do they will say something like "its extremely rare, but if you do have it you will be infertile forever!" NOT TRUE! DONT LISTEN!! There are two good ways of getting more information to see what the problem might be:
The first is, chart for a month and see if you are cycling normally or not. If you find that you are ovulating all over the place, there may well be a hormonal cause and you can push the GP for blood tests. If you find as I did that you are ovulating normally and the sore boobs and period pain comes when you would expect a bleed, this is an indicator of AS.
The other thing you could try is going private and getting a prescription for progesterone, if you have a hormonal problem you WILL bleed after the 10 day course, if it is AS you will not (as the problem is structural and nothing to do with hormones). If you cant get the progesterone you could also take the pill for 21 days and you should expect the same results.

Sorry if all this is very scary and depressing. I just want to pass on what I learned because in hindsight I wish I had done more and sooner. I really hope that AF is right round the corner for you and you have neither hormonal problems nor AS!

Finally, the other (depressing) piece of advice I would give you is to use contraception and keep doing HPT for a couple of weeks so that you can completely rule out pregnancy as a possible explanation. This is important to your state of mind and it will help the GP take you more seriously, otherwise they may just say "lets wait and see" because the answer could be pregnancy. I am sure you are sick of waiting already!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
