Had an mc and need some wine, chocolate and somewhere to moan and cry? This is the place to be! We chat a LOT so it can be hard to keep up, but everyone on here is great and will hold your hand until you get your BFP.

kat2504 · 31/12/2010 18:17

Champers to the thread all round. I got a lovely ten pound bottle from asda!

kat2504 · 31/12/2010 18:15

Hi dolly and welcome. It's hard when you know you've done everything by the book, but even if you hadn't been perfect mc is not your fault. I beat myself up over all sorts of things, such as baby being conceived on holiday with lots of wine, having about one drink a week when I was pg etc. Doesn't help to be hard on yourself. Good thing is that you know that cos you do everything right, next bean will have the best start.

dollylolly · 31/12/2010 18:11

sorry about that....That was a happy new year to you all pic xx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 31/12/2010 17:36

Just popping on quickly to pinch a glass of owl's finest and wish you all a happy new year - you girls have been absolutely amazing and I simply would not have got through 2010 without you. Sending ((((hugs)))) to all and hoping we can share some happier times together in 2011 xxx

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 31/12/2010 17:22

I just went on another thread where a lady didn't realise she was pregnant until 24 weeks - how amazing would that be???!?!?! That would be a straightforward way to cut down my mentalling!

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 31/12/2010 17:14

Oooh hello mamap sorry crossed posts with you! Hope you have a lovely NYE party and a very very very happy 2011 lovely xx

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 31/12/2010 17:13

owly repeat after me: "it's gonna be fine, it's gonna be fine, it's gonna be fine.....", while you're rocking quietly in the corner. Well done telling your mum, I'm really glad she was supportive. Having one more sympathetic shoulder in RL is definitely worth having, and I'm sure she's glad you told her rather than worrying by yourself.

Mamapower · 31/12/2010 17:10

Hi all, sorry this is sooooo quick, been home an hour and my friends have already started to turn up!! Mulled wine is on the go and smelling delish!!

Big hugs to all that need them and I shall vow to catch up properly tomorrow afy when I am on the sofa with a hideous hangover and watching some shite on tv!!

I just really wanted to pop by and wish you all a very happy new year! You have all been such a wonderful support to me this year and without you all I think I could easily have sunk in to the depths of despair! If one good thing came of my miscarriages it's that it brought me here and I have met the loveliest bunch of girls. Message on my FB status for those there but for those not, I hope 2011 brings plenty to celebrate for each of us... bring on the beans!!

much love xxx

owlbooty · 31/12/2010 17:03

Wombat I've still got everything crossed for you; lines don't neccessarily behave themselves very well at this early stage.

For those who asked, I have come out of the mentalling corner just to say the Scan Of Doom is at 4pm on Tuesday. So I will be mostly freaking out quietly over here in my corner until that's done if nobody minds :)

On the plus side I did finally tell my Mum yesterday about the mc and all the current stressing and how bloody awful I've felt. I hadn't done it at the time as I thought it would upset her too much (first grandchild etc) but she was really good about it and I am so glad I've told her - massive weight off my mind and one more person in RL who I can wail at if needed!

Here's to a superb 2011 for everyone in here; we've all had far too much shite to deal with this year and we deserve better! I still think if men had to go through all of this the human race would actually have died out by now. Grin

appleblossoms · 31/12/2010 16:07

Just popping back in to wish all you lovely lovely girls a fantastic new years. You have been such an amazing support to me this year, and I can't wait to see you all over in the grads...I'm keeping your seats warm!

Nix big whoop for your scan, hurray hurray.

and a very special congrats to the lovely mrspretty!! Oh my, I have so many things crossed that it works out this time.

May 2011 be the year of sickness, stretch marks and sleepless nights for all the right reasons!

Love you all girlies. x x

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 31/12/2010 15:29

loola2snowshus · 31/12/2010 14:05

Oooh YROTB new thread new year... has to be extra lucky!

loola2snowshus · 31/12/2010 14:01

Really quick helloooos

Just wanted to give a little Woop!! for nix
and Wombat and Pretty (and Wombat, I'm sure faint line just due to diluted wee!)

pink I've has HSG, and it was fine x

also really sorry snowy & kat

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 31/12/2010 12:14

Oh wombie ((((maddivesquish)))) so sorry about chromosone stuff :( you poor thing-making a decision off a 20 week scan would be so tough, especially as they can't tell you how severe it's likely to be. I really really really hope the line is weaker today because your wee is more diluted.

dachs it doesn't sound at all selfish to me, I think it makes sense-I don't think adoption would be an easy option to take at all. I have everything crossed for plan b working a treat but plan c sounds like a good way of getting more time for you and DH to enjoy each other more. Are you going to cook something nice for dinner tonight? Fx your neighbours host their party at a mates house this year!! Esrplugs at the ready just in case..,,,

I know I'm trying to stay zen and chilled about all this ttc stuff but it makes be so pigging cross that all you lovely ladies aren't all massively updiffed with your babies that we all want so badly and would love so dearly when they arrived. Especially when they had some woman from a GUM clinic on the radio asking people to think before shagging random strangers at parties and that shes getting vast numbers of calls get from 'very distressed' women that are very worried they might be pregnant. FFS it's a lot easier to prevent an unwanted pregnancy than it is to get updiffed voluntarily. Rrahahshshahah. Ok rant over, feel a bit better now.....

orange good call on toenail colour Grin 12 days will go in a flash, fingers crossed for you!

owl when's your scan? Hope you're ok and not quietly mentalling in a corner somewhere!!

HK fab news about pant snot! Acu seems to be shortening my cycles too and she thought herbs would really help but I was too chicken to take them! Sorry about row, it's really tough, especially when you really need co-operation for those couple of days!!! Happy new year lovely, it must almost be time over there??!

chocs any news???????

I am lying around in bed at the PIL's feeling like I really want some new lungs and s new head having caught the most minging cold ever!!!! I've lost my voice which is probably the best thing to come out of this cold (for everyone else!!) hope it naffs off soon!!

OrangeGloss · 31/12/2010 12:13

Thanks Dachs for the info, sorry I was getting over-excited Blush

HKSantaBaby happy new year! Maybe a couple of NY drinks will soften things? And there's nothing wrong with caving if it benefits your goal Grin

HongKongSantaBaby · 31/12/2010 11:39

Just a quick one as I really ought to be celebrating hogmany with DH not mumsnetting!

Kat sorry the witch got you Sad, sorry that its really got you down this time, big hugs.

Wombat you know you can't read much into the lightness/darkness of the line really, it could just be more diluted urine or something. Keep positive.

Ladybeen fingers x'd you and DH are right to suspect this might be your month.

Sunchild hope you find some peace and happiness having come to this decision.

Well I am CD13 I think and started to get the EWCM which is very unusual for me as usually have very long cycles.... maybe the acupuncture/herbs are having some effect and I'm going to ov a bit earlier this time. Better get down to some SWI'ing but might be a slight problem since DH and I are currently sulking with each other (this ongoing ttc is not doing our relationship much good I have to say). Oh well, I suppose I shall have to swallow my pride and cave in first for the greater good!

Happy 2011 to you all Grin

kat2504 · 31/12/2010 11:23

Dachs I think you are much better to be honest about how you feel about the options available. Adoption certainly isn't for everyone. It isn't selfish to want your own baby, ultimately that's what we all really want on here, just some people have a different plan B if they can't achieve that. It's human nature to want your own baby. And I sincerely hope you can make that dream come true for you.

DachshundsWantPuppies · 31/12/2010 11:22

orange have only just started the cycle so am still on ovarian stimulation - they will probably be retrieving in a couple of weeks. You haven't missed any data Xmas Wink

Thanks for the good wishes. What are you all up to for New Year? DH and I aren't doing anything this year. I just hope that the neighbours a couple of doors down don't have the same kind of party they had a couple of years ago where they had a DJ in the garden with REALLY loud speakers until 4a.m. We got NO sleep and the dogs were really unsettled. The whole house was shaking. It was bad enough when we had lots of champagne in the house, but entirely alcohol free and crazed on hormone drugs I think i might end up getting arrested for GBH if it happens again!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 31/12/2010 11:13

dachs you've obviously put a lot of thought into all your options and I dont think anyone is going to judge you for being honest and realistic about what you are able to do with those options. I think adoption for exampie is a fabulous thing to be able to do for a child but I don't think it's easy and strongly believe that you would have to be very committed to the idea to make it work, and in fact it would be very unfair on a child to embark upon something like that without being absolutely sure you wanted it or could cope with it. I'm waffling now but what I mean is that of course you're perfectly entitled to feel as you do and it's sensible to have properly considered it like you have.

Fx that you will get your very own baby soon and that this cycle works for you x

OrangeGloss · 31/12/2010 11:11

Dachs it doesn't seem selfish to me, I really hope this time you get some good sticky ones. Do you know how many eggs they got this cycle if you don't mind me asking? Sorry if you have already said and I missed it

DachshundsWantPuppies · 31/12/2010 10:56

bee about the eggs - I know lots of people feel differently about this, but DH and I both feel very strongly that we don't just want a baby, we want our baby, so using donor sperm or donor eggs is something that we wouldn't consider. We are beginning to feel like we're never going to be able to have a baby, and we've obviously talked about it and considered all the options, but the powerful driver behind wanting a child isn't just to have a child, it's that we'd want to see what we had managed to create between us. Selfish as this may sound when there are lots of children out there that need good homes, we wouldn't want to adopt either - I'd never feel like it was really my child, and I know I wouldn't love it in the same way as if it was my own. Please don't hate me for that attitude ladies...

Plan C would be give up the idea of a baby, move back to central london to somewhere really central so we have a much better commute and then live a decadent existence because we won't need to save money for the baby. Going on at least one really nice holiday every year. It would have to be somewhere with a small garden or roof terrace though, because if I can't ever have a baby I need to have my dachshunds around...
