Woo hoo AF got me today. Not the result we hoped for but I am soooo grateful to have a cycle that is under 100 days and to have my first proper period in 8 months. Hopefully this will be my lucky cycle!

Hope everyone is ok? This snow is a total nightmare!

Hi ladies

Hope everyone is having a good day. Im feeling a lot more positive. Following my bad luck earlier this year I guess I thought it made me immune and that I thought that i deserved to fall pregnant again and that it would work out well; as a result i reacted quite badly to an early loss. today i have pulled myself together and am a bit more prepared to take the rough with the smooth....

thought you might all be amused to hear one of the gems of advice i had from a 'close' friend....'why dont you wait a year or two before you start trying again'...

well where do i start? do i focus on my age (nearly 35) and the fact that ideally i would prefer to have several children (and have already had one with chromosome problems), or maybe the fact that having lost 2 babies in less than 4 months im just rather keen to start a family and have a little joy replace the sadness....

oh well....some people just dont get it do they?!

birdietimesthree · 02/12/2010 19:51

zebedee, KC I don't know what some people are on... I have been asked other intrusive questions about my personal life (i.e. when are we getting married) but clearly am not eligible for the pregnancy questions yet. Not looking forward to those.
Some people are just tossers, no rhyme nor reason to it. And no, gross insensitivity is never normal.

good luck stormbird, fingers crossed for you.

AF got me today, but on the plus side I've had my first 28 day cycle in about 5 years, thanks (I think) to acupuncture. It's been 23-25 for ages. So that's a step in the right direction.

KnackeredCow · 02/12/2010 11:31

Zebedee Am so Angry on your behalf. How bloody insensitive.

I got asked by somebody recently about plans to start a family "you've been married a year now, and after all your redundancy must make it perfect timing now that you're at home".

I replied with "do you think I haven't thought of that? It appears that we may be infertile." That shut them up quite rapidly.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I really feel for you.

KnackeredCow · 02/12/2010 11:27

Welcome Fr00tbat and Kat to the thread.

Fr00tbat so sorry that AF got you. Sad Make sure you enjoy that glass bottle of wine tonight Grin

This journey TTC is emotionally draining and really tough.

Keziah Thanks for kind words. How are you doing, hun? Have you heard any more from the clinic as yet?

Storm I have everything crossed for you. I can really appreciate why you are so worried, but it does sound liike you are receiving excellent antenatal care from your MW and that you have a very supportive DH.

Well am snowed in today. DH can't get to work - second day he's not been able to. Wish I was ovulating as that would have been a real bonus Wink

I don't know what it is with some people but 2 women who I don't particularly know very well have, in the last week, asked me if I'm pregnant again yet!! Since when did this become an acceptable question to go around asking? Its immensely personal IMO.

Next time someone does that, if they are not a close friend I shall say: "Yes I was last week, this week I'm not because I've just had a miscarriage, is that enough information for you and are you happy now that you know everything?"

Silly bloody cows - I felt like screaming at them both. Is this normal?

I'm ttc after a miscarriage (2nd August)and am just nearing the end of my first go with the CBFM. BFN this month but at least it has got to know me. Hopefully this next time I wont get highs all the way from cd9 to cd16 as it was hard to manage it on the peak days by the time they came around!

I'd paste a link but haven't got a scooby how to. Sorry.

Just sounds like you could do with chatting to some ladies who have been in a similar boat. Forgive me if I am being presumtuous!!

Its over in the Antenatal Tests and Choices category.

They are truly lovely and I found them very helpful.

I hope you are ok.

Hi All,

Sorry to here your news Kitty. Sending positive thoughts and vibes your way for a quick recovery.

Sorry to anyone who AF got this time. KC I Hope you feel a bit more upbeat soon.

(Kind of) QUICK UPDATE FROM ME:
Well, I had my first Scan today and saw & heard the heartbeat so all is well there. My little bean measured around 7+3 which is a bit less than expected cos my dates put me at 7+6 - bit the Midwife reassured me that its not unusual, so am holdng on to that bit of hope. I do hope she's right cos I worry bout everything!! Anyone else had this before?

MW asked to see me again at 10wks to do another scan and re-measure and then again at 12wks. She said that they will only be able to tell if the baby is perfectly formed at 12wks. Thats fair enough and I know its all positive at te mo but I still have that aching bit of doubt about having another baby with Annencephaly. It terrifies me.

I was an absolute wreck in the waiting room and although DP was trying to be all ok about everything you could see the fear in his eye, MW even commented about how scared we both looked. I grabbed DP's hand at one point and it was wringing wet. Bless him.

Hope you are all ok. xxxx

Thought was going swimmingly this month - peaks CD19/20, spotting CD 27 with horrid bitter taste in mouth from 1DPO and really painful bs from 7 DPO, now cramping and spotting, feels like AF on way, don't usually spot this long though..............
BFN 7DPO (overly optomistic I think - but wanted a drinkie!!)10DPO and 11 DPO - couldnt face again this am.
Miserable...................

KC - sorry you a bit low, I think it is sadly part of the journey of ttc (well it is mine!). Especially when testing and life means ttc doesn't really happen - but new month ahead for us now x

zebedeethezebra · 01/12/2010 11:55

Thanks everyone for your support and you're right Kitty about it being better to lose it now than later after finding out there are problems.

Well I've stopped bleeding so I've set the monitor today to be day 5. I've heard you can be super fertile for a few months so I'll just keep going.

What's the oldest anyone on here has given birth? I'm 44 in January so need to consider when to give up completely.

What's a sticker??

Lychees · 01/12/2010 08:32

Sorry Kitty and Zebedee about your news. Sending best wishes.

And sorry AF got some of you Sad.

And yes, Kitty, hoping for some stickies this cycle.

I'm off to see my consultant next week to have a proper chat about our last lot of results [SA, AMH and HSG]. Was told by email everything was normal but would like to discuss in more depth, have some other questions answered, perhaps get some more tests booked and to talk about possible treatment options.

Ilovekittyelise · 30/11/2010 18:55

ladies thankyou all for sharing my shortlived (but very cautious and with good reason it seems!) joy, and for your kindness following my latest mishap, i shall reset myself to day 1 tomorrow and hope for a 3rd 2010 pregnancy!

zebedee i don't know anything about your history of pregnancies etc but I really want you to take comfort in this: many terminations are thought to happen due to chromosomal abnormalities in the foetus. back in the summer I had a trisomy baby (she had a chromosomal problem). i found this out at the 12 week scan. i elected to have a termination as it was unlikely to be viable/have any quality of life. it took 3 or 4 months to start ovulating again in fact i conceived again my first cycle of trying. i have now lost this baby at 4 or 5 weeks. it is likely that this early loss could have been a similar thing; however, i would MUCH rather naturally lose a very early pregnancy, than to carry it to 12 weeks and have to make that choice. emotionally it has been easier, and physically it wont take anywhere near as long for my body to get back to normal. im not saying i dont feel for your loss, its hideously awful at any stage particularly if it's your first pregnancy, but please just take comfort in knowing that you CAN get pregnant, it could happen again quickly, and that an unviable life most probably ended for good reason....but all the same, enormous hugs and i hope you have better luck next time around

Loads of love.

And everyone else please lets have some stickers in december!!! xxx

Keziahhopes · 30/11/2010 18:06

Sorry Kitty and Zebedee.
Zebedee I think I would use it as normal, especially as you say you are 43 - after all I can't imagine it doing any harm! Hope it helps.
