Boba That is fantastic news. I am completely thrilled for you. Well done!

I wish you all the best for a successful and uneventful pregnancy.

That's so positive that the Clomid worked. Brilliant news.

Well, guess the stats need updating:

Boba, that's such great news Grin! I'm hoping that everything wil be just fine.

Belated birthday wishes, LittleFan.

boba82 · 07/01/2011 15:53

Hi ladies

Can't actually believe this but I got my BFP this morning! Grin Basically felt very nauseous all day yesterday which was when AF was due but waited until this am to test. 2 BFPs on CB digitals and a third on a first response. Still went to appt @ FC where he burst our bubble by saying if I am there's a high chance of ectopic preg as my right tube has a blockage so I have to go back next Fri for 6 week scan to check all ok. Feel really nervous now. Can't believe it. You guys are only ones apart from DH that know so shhh! Really praying everything turns out ok. Feeling really sick all day and lots of little niggles down below so hoping these are good signs.

Storm how's things, been thinking of you. x

Happy Birthday littlefan

Thanks mumofloads

Zebedee Yes, you can fool the monitor.

TBH I don't even use sticks once I've had my first peak day because it is most definitely programmed to show a second peak day followed by one high and then lows until you reset it. I simply switch it off until AF arrives.

This is the link to the paper showing exactly how it works

If you still want to see your second peak and the high afterwards, wait until after your testing window and switch the monitor on. It won't be flashing requesting a test, but will still show peak or high.

Also, despite the VAT rise, Amazon has just reduced the price of a box of sticks to £13.99. Hooray! Grin That's with free delivery too. I know because I have just ordered some more.

zebedeethezebra · 07/01/2011 14:46

Storm and Kitty I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

Knackered hope they manage to squeeze you in sometime later today. It sounds like a right pain to get an appointment - I'm surprised they can't come up with a better system.

So hooray had 3 bars yesterday on day 11! So we've done the marinating thing and I still have 4 test sticks left. Did someone say you can fool the monitor by reusing old sticks for the next 4 days so I don't waste the unused ones. Do I need to wee on the old sticks again in the morning or can I just put them in dry? Does it mess the machine up at all??

KnackeredCow · 07/01/2011 13:57

Sorry AF got you littlefan That must have been a real dampener on your birthday, but Many Happy Returns anyway. Hope you are planning something nice for your bday.

Well there's been no cancellations on today's HSG list, so I guess I'll have to simply wait for AF to arrive and book it then.

littlefan · 07/01/2011 13:02

Updated stats - bit out of the loop - AF got me on Monday and I turned 32 yesterday - great week all round! Have decided to take a month off of the pee sticks to relax a little.

KnackeredCow · 07/01/2011 11:02

Thank you mumofloads. That's really kind of you to drop in Smile

Sounds like you have a wonderful family now, I guess life must be hectic for you but very worthwhile and rewarding. x

mumofloads · 07/01/2011 10:55

Hello, I hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread. I'm over here being nosey about something else. I have just spent ages reading the whole thread and have been reduced to tears. You are so supportive of each other it's brilliant Grin.
I wish you all loads of luck in 2011.

I'm to old for child bearing now (only just though). Before I had dd (22) I miscarried 3 times, 12 years later I had ds after a 4th miscarraige. I adopted dd2 last year and also 3 foster children. So that explains my name.

Keziah Thanks for kind words about being at home. I am doing voluntary work at the moment, which is OK. I've also set myself a few projects, such as teaching myself a bit of photography. I've enrolled in Italian classes too, which I enjoy. I guess I'm just really frustrated as I really want to go back to work.

KnackeredCow · 07/01/2011 10:26

Thanks Clockspotter. I do actually have some wellies at the moment as we have a lab, who loves to walk in muddy places, and then shake it all over the kitchen. Grin

You might want to have a look on the Style & Beauty threads and my cryptic post might make a little more sense.... Wink

So I have been phoning the hospital every few hours to see if I can get a cancellation for an HSG today. Still no availability, therefore it does look unlikely but the snow has started to come down here thick and fast. We've had about 2" in the last hour and when I last phoned Radiology they've said to keep trying. They are expecting cancellations now from ladies who are further afield and can't get in due to the weather. I've been instructed to ring again about lunchtime.

Clockspotter · 07/01/2011 09:01

If I could offer an opinion- absolutely on the Hunters. Sadly dog-walking clothes are priority in our house tho Wink

KnackeredCow · 06/01/2011 23:05

Keziah Wink

I'm just wondering whether I need a new pair of navy Hunter wellies for walking the dog? What do you think?

Keziahhopes · 06/01/2011 20:54

Hi Pink - Menevit is the supplement that Care (a private fertility clinic) recommended to us. You can only get it from Australia or New Zealand, but 3 months supply only costing us about £40, due to exchange rate etc. If you look it up on a search engine you can get all its component parts by swallowing lots of different supplements (zinc is one of them) but my dh decided one a day was better and cheaper Grin... no bfp yet (but some issues for me also we think now) but his numbers have dramatically improved to almost normal Smile...

Oh KC just to say thank you for the updated and altered stats Smile Grin Smile

StormBird · 06/01/2011 20:34

LOL Pinkcustard

I'm rooting for you Lychees - Hope the IUI is a success

xxx

PinkCustard · 06/01/2011 20:30

Hi all,

Thanks for info Keziah I've started DH on zinc and a multivitamin but will investigate the supplement you mentioned. It's good to hear that your DH's swimmers improved. Our prob seems to be with motility, he's got 27%-ish motility and current WHO levels are set as 40% being normal. Like you say though, this is just from one result, he's having another next week which should give a clearer picture.

Hope you're feeling ok Storm, am keeping everything crossed for you (apart from my legs as heading into Peak territory).

Welcome Clockspotter try not to get concerned just yet, 6 months really isn't all that long (although I know it feels like it at the time).

Best dash, Corrie about to start Grin

x

Keziahhopes · 06/01/2011 20:21

KC - being at home sounds horrible. Housework is not fun full-time etc!! I only had to experience that once, it was enough!

Do you feel like doing a short course in the day in something interesting or new just to use your brain? That is what I did, it helped to have a focus etc... Or do volunteer work, I did 2 afternoons to stop myself getting into an unhealth cycle of sleeping, snacking, tv, vegetating etc...

Keziahhopes · 06/01/2011 20:19

sorry Crazy - ignore my post. Great news Smile

Keziahhopes · 06/01/2011 20:17

Clockspotter - why not get a smear done, just to reassure you and if one is due.

Can understand your frustration at ttc, I am on year 3 now of ttc#1 - so fed up! Hope it not so long for anyone else on this thread!

Keziahhopes · 06/01/2011 20:13

Hi - not back read much but just wanted to say Crazy Alien - are you in a union? If so, could you ask your school rep to go in to support you, so that everything is official and if you think it would help? For some it may be worse, but other places it is helpful as prevents illegal things happening....

do you have a contract? Is it permanent in this new job, or not? Could you ask them to observe you in this new job, to give you a trial as it were if they were concerned and prove how good and reliable you are, etc?

All teh best xxx

Clockspotter · 06/01/2011 15:33

Hi folks,

I hope you don't mind adding me on after my dipping in at the start of the month? Been lurking but seem to have missed so much on here after the madness of Christmas! My heart goes out to you Storm and I have everything crossed.

Details are as follows:
TTC#2, Cycle#6, CBFM Cycle 1, age 38, UCL 29-31, CD1(tomorrow)

Conceived DD no problem but I guess a few years are making all the difference to my ability to get pregnant. Been TTC since August and starting to get a bit concerned nowConfused. Also, experienced a tiny amount of spotting last week which has me a bit worried- has anyone had this? Had hoped it might be implantation bleeding and got hopes up YET again but Sad. Trouble is, missed Smear test for ages what with being preg then moving house..

KnackeredCow · 06/01/2011 15:00

Thinking of you Storm I am sure the result will be fine

Lychees very exciting that you are so close to IUI.

Boba Hope you're OK. Thanks for words on HSG. Am phoning every few hours at the moment. No cancellations as yet, but they've told me to keep on trying for now. FX persistence pays off.

CrazyAlien I love German Shepherds and Collies. My lab plays with a German Shepherd in the park every morning. They just go nuts together, it's really cute to watch. Hope the meeting went OK?

CrazyAlien · 06/01/2011 15:00

all ok job wise!! didnt take them long to realise it was a malicious act by my old head!

storm fingers crossed!
