I was wondering that too Slightly!

Great news Keziah and all the luck in the world!

LycheesSad

Am getting quite encouraged by the growing list of graduates btw. Playing the waiting game this week but keep having to remind myself that fluttering feelings in stomach is wind and not baby kicking. Ridiculous searching for syptoms that wouldnt be felt til way down the line anywayBlush.

Just a quick question. I've heard the montitor asks for sticks all the way through the month on your first go, even after you ovulate. I POAS between days 6-14 then since peaking it hasnt asked for any more Confused.

Judging by the CDs on the first few on the list - do we need to upgrade people to Graduates? Or is AF being particularly cruel?

Question - has anyone else set their CBFM window and then forgotten what time they did? I work shifts and had to start when I was up at stupid-o'clock and now can't remember what time it was! Have started poas day 7 this cycle - hopefully not gonna use another 20 sticks again - will become tres expensive!

Lychees · 27/01/2011 10:55

That's great news Keziah. Stay positive ... the IVF may well work.

It's bad news for me today. It's my official testing day [14 days post insemination] but I got a BFN Sad. No sign of AF though but I have put in a request for a second month of Clomid and I'll be off to pick it up tomorrow in case, AF arrives over the weekend.

Sorry about the "me" post.

TinaO99 · 27/01/2011 10:13

fantastic news keziah!!! And thanks for the suggestion re supplements SBC and lychees

essenceofSES · 27/01/2011 06:23

Just a quick post for Keziah...
Finally some positive news for you!!! You so deserve this opportunity :) I know there's still lots of fingers to be crossed but it is a step in the right direction - hurray!!
(And of course this is your "home" and where you belong :) )

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 27/01/2011 00:13

Congratulations on the good news Keziah - about time! Carry on using the monitor though, you never know!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 27/01/2011 00:12

I've got mine the Wellman conception too - I was buying a bunch of all sorts that sort of added up to a similar mix - he is much happier to just take one tablet now!

His counts did come back better after a few months on the supplements - I have also banned him from taking hot baths - not sure which has had the most difference!

Keziahhopes · 26/01/2011 23:33

very sheepish emoticon here!

Please may I come back?

Despite this horrific letter from dr (I am not exaggerating, just don't want to post what is said)we now have the all clear to have the ivf treatment... found out today! One week after devastating news... the manager rang us, she was so happy and said we had their support. Know it not likely to work, but now have access to treatment after long 5 months of being told "no." Know probably on wrong thread, but this is sort of my "home"...

Will catch up on posts when brain back in focus another day!

Lychees · 26/01/2011 22:57

Tina, I got my some Wellman Conception for my DH.

TinaO99 · 26/01/2011 16:28

hi all - I'd like my hubby to start taking some vitamins, what would you all recommend as being best for him to take?

Thanks :-)

Tina

PinkCustard · 26/01/2011 15:40

Oh fr00tbat how annoying! It's made me feel more determined not to be too reliant on the CBFM as ofcourse it isn't foolproof.

Choccie thanks for info, yes DH is taking lots of vitamins now Grin I am beginning to think we've been having too much sex (if that's possible when TTC!) and that waiting for a few days prior to ovulation sounds like a sensible plan.

Although like Choccie says it really is the luck of the draw and I'm probably just kidding myself that I have any element of control over any of it!

Had a chat with DH last night and I suggested we keep trying until December and if I'm not preg by Christmas we'll give it a rest. It makes me feel better that we've set a deadline that's far off but also that we can give it a really good go until then...really hoping I've got a big pregnant belly by next Christmas Smile

Good luck for tomorrow Lychees and anyone else nearing the end of the dreaded 2ww.

boba82 · 26/01/2011 12:21

pink glad you've got the ball rolling. Good luck for all the SWI, you'll be knackered!

choccie yes according to my dates 8 weeks on Fri. My last scan was at 6 weeks and saw a black blob, not very much but re-assuring none the less! Good luck.

lychees thanks, good luck to you to for POAS tomo. x

harry thanks for your advice. Ooooh not long at all for you, bet you can't wait?!

fr00bat sorry you've missed this cycle, onwards & upwards for next one though. x

Clear blue have taken batch number and are replacing gratis!!! V annoyed, think have missed the boat this month.....sniff

fr00tbat · 26/01/2011 07:52

Morning- v annoyed- think might have had dodgy box of sticks- have rummaged in bin and pulled out entire weeks worth- all the same- line nearest wee end absent, 2nd line same blue, so peed on stick from last box- very different, obvious line at wee end pale line at monitor end- has this happened to anyone else?? Going to ring clear blue.....

Ilovekittyelise · 25/01/2011 20:54

choccie don't worry about the nipples; the 'tingle pain' doesn't last so you mustn't be alarmed - symptoms come and go and change, and change back, its really hard but try not to read too much into things and just keep your focus on that scan!

I too had the 'dildocam' last week; wasn't uncomfortable at all, just a relief to see the blob in the right place; now just hoping it stays there and it's in reasonably good health.

harry i saw my heartbeat at 6+3 as well; only difference between this and the last was that last time they could see it transabdominally at 6+4 and this time it wasnt clear enough at 6+3 hence the phallic delight!

hope everyone else is well. im feeling a bit emotional as its fast approaching kitty's due date. i think i might make a donation to the down's syndrome association to mark the occasion.

Harry2007 · 25/01/2011 17:33

Hi Ladies,

Just thought I'd pass on a bit of advice to Boba and Choccie given that I'd had 11 early scans by the time I was 11 weeks - starting at 4weeks!

All scans before 9 weeks were internal, however, they're not as bad as they sound and you're so engrossed with the image on the screen, it doesn't really sink in where the probe actually is Wink (apologies if you've already had one of these and already know this).

From 4 weeks to 6 weeks, I saw a sac with a blob in it it! Started to see a fetal pole from about 6 weeks and it was 6 weeks and 3 days that I saw the magical heartbeat Grin. Hope this is useful, BUT, bear in mind that just a few days this early on makes a huge amount of difference e.g. no heartbeat at 6+1, heartbeat at 6+3.

Soooo, moral of the story - everyone is different, babies grow at different rates and TRY not to worry with what you see - I know this is easier said than done though.

Good luck ladies and hi to everyone else xxx

(30 weeks for me now - c-section booked in 8 weeks time)

chocciechip · 25/01/2011 15:47

pinkcustard If it helps, my fertility consultant told us that the fastest and best sperm seem to be concentrated in the first bit of ejaculate. The thinking then that more often gives more of those type a head start. HOWEVER, this didn't work for us even though we started to apply the logic as though it was gosple and got screwed up with misery when it didn't work. What did work was about 4 days of abstinence for DH and then SWI'ing on the peaks and no other days.

Actually, what I suspect helped the most was a big vitamin regime for my DH which he followed religiously and is still taking now. Are you guys doing that?

I genuinely think its a bit of a lottery and we live in a world and a time where we can control everthing so we drive ourselves crazy trying to control this too. TTC for me has been nature's cruel way of slapping me back into my place (which is amongst all the other furry animals).

boba I'll be thinking of you. Will you be about 8 weeks? This will be 6 weeks for me and I've been told there's a chance they won't see anything because it's very early. DH is freaking out big-time - so stressed.

I've not listened to Chris Evans yet... def going to do so now. I've realised that even if I went on to have 10 successful pregnancies (ha ha) I will forever identify most closely and painfully with women who struggle TTC and see myself as one of them.

PinkCustard · 25/01/2011 14:15

Hi,

My DH mentioned the Chris Evans thing so I'm going to give it a listen too (I'm obsessed to watch/listen to anything to do with fertility at the mo).

Saw my doc yesterday and she's referring us to a specialist - just need to wait for referral letter to come through so I can try and get an appointment.

I asked her about how often we should be having sex bearing in mind DH's lower than normal sperm motility and her advice was to refrain for a few days prior to ovulation to let them build up, and then once we've got underway every day is just as effective as waiting every other day as it's better to get more in there...interesting - a new regime this month then.

Just at boring part of cycle for me at the mo...

Good luck all

choccie I totally agree with everything you said. It is torturing yourself but very hard to give up when you're desperate for a baby!

I've got scan on Thurs too, we really are on the same journey ATM.

I only caught the tale end of that discussion on Chris Evans so am keen to listen to it also. Good luck for Thurs.

OP posts:
chocciechip · 25/01/2011 11:37

Hope you're all well.

I agree that CD 1 is definately the worst day of the month, but it can be a lot worse! i.e. if you tested early and got a positive that three days later turns into a 'late' period; or if you do an early test and get an evaporation line which you convince yourself is a positive. That experience is devastating in the extreme when CD1 arrives. Seriously, try keep away from early testing - its very bad for the soul.

And I've realsied that symptom spotting is another form of torture and confusion. I spent all of last year convincing myself that my sore breasts were a postive sign, but when I actually did finally get my BFP, I realised it is a totally different kind of soreness (for me anyway). And I remembered this soreness from my first BFP as well. VERY VERY tingly nipples as well as sore and very swollen breasts - not just the bruised sort of soreness that fades that I was getting towards the end of my period.

And to those who only manage to SWI once or twice.... don't beat yourself up (I used to torture myself over this). We only managed to SWI twice in the cycle that ended up with BFP, so if its the right month, its the right month.

It's all easy to say, isn't it ... The roller-coaster of hope and despair is so hard. My roller coaster continues to an early scan on Thurs - my breasts are losing their 'tenderness' which is a bit worrying.

Did anyone listen to Chris Evans on Friday? Apparently he talked about their struggles TTC. I'm off to listen to it now online.

zebedeethezebra · 25/01/2011 09:17

Yes! Symptom spotting - I've been there!

fr00tbat · 25/01/2011 08:57

Thanks tilly, will give it a go, not that irregular so might do the trick.

tillydream · 24/01/2011 18:45

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm on CD8, (sorry I didn't put it first time) so gearing up to a week of 'it'Wink (What do we call it on here?! - don't want to offend anyone!!)

zebedeethezebra AF gets me like that all the time, especially hard when like Clockspotter and Tina you have convinced yourself that this could truly be THE month! Like Tina, I'm online with every twinge and sore boob! You'd have thought the PMA would have done the trick on its own but not so far!!

Fr00tbat - Sorry I can't help with your question but I've recently started taking Agnus castus days 1- Peak (NOT AFTER PEAK) and so far its regulated periods really well - Been 3 months now. I would try anything though but this one piece of advice seems to work for me and I've had peak every time in the past 3 months. Apologies if you've tried it.

Lychees FX crossed.

Positive thoughts to everyone.
Tilly xx
