cep · 13/02/2011 14:32

Thanks again keziah that sounds better than just hoping you've got the right time of day.

Keziahhopes · 13/02/2011 13:22

Cep you choose when you test - on day 1-5 of af you press the button and you can then test 3hrs either side of that time. So I personally press the button for 9am, so anytime between 6-12noon I test. No, only once a day.

Frootbat - day 40? A gp appointment a good idea, maybe do a blood test? Oh yes, great new Brew emoticon, though no real caffeine for me for weeks (will save caffeine for chocolate!)

Feellike - never hear of that error! Can you phone up cbfm and see if it is in warranty for a free replacement?

Well I have just ordered a 41oz container of whey to go protein powder having tried 2 flavours, chosen chocolate. So that will be my daily breakfast, with 1pt of full-fat milk and a banana! And over a 3rd of my protein needs met! Gosh, the things we do, I don't even like it!!

FeelLikeTweedleDee · 13/02/2011 11:32

Guys my CBFM showed an error which the instruction books says "your monitor is broken and needs to be replaced". Has anyone else seen this error and fixed their monitor?

HELP!!

fr00tbat · 13/02/2011 10:21

Day 40- still nothing, bfn and feel normal - bit grumpy with worry, but otherwise zip. Have made appt for gp. Anyway- just wanted to wish keziah the very very best for tuesday, sending lots of positive vibes ....
Sunday morning Brew in bed -v nice new emoticon!

cep · 12/02/2011 22:09

thankyou Keziah thats a great explanation. Grin does it matter what time of day? i think i may have a really short lh surge which is why the opks never seem to see it. i'm just worried i'll end up doing it 2 or 3 times a day like with opks.

Keziahhopes · 12/02/2011 20:42

SBC - liking the attitude! I was sceptical about the accupuncture, but she is zita west trained and just to chat to someone has helped, and it did reduce pain from the car accident whether it was placebo or not I liked it!

Cep - knackered cow is the expert technical person on here, so hope she will post but basically a cbfm is a machine that:

  • you press the button of first day of a period
  • about day 6-9 it asks you to pee on a stick and put it in the machine
  • the machine measures level in urine and gives you a reading of low, high or peak fertility
  • first cycle it usually uses a whole box of sticks but following cycles usually ones needs 10, unless you have long cycles
  • the high readings are leading up to or after ovulation, so important time for sex
  • peak indicates ovulation

Lots here find it useful, to find out about cycle, to monitor ovulation, to know when to have swi etc...

Hope that helps. Oh if buy one, I recommend not a chemist, Amazon is much cheaper! Or even ebay?! Machine is one off purchase, sticks are monthly (about £14 a box for 2 months) but cheaper than fertility tests (as I can sadly vouch!)

cep · 12/02/2011 18:45

hello sorry to jump your thread but i was just wondering about the cbfm. i use opks but they never show positive, i worry if i buy the cbfm it'll be the same. Do you find the cbfm useful? i assume you pee on a stick like with the opk.

Please can someone advise me?

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 12/02/2011 18:05

Hi Keziah - glad the acupuncture having a good effect on you - I tried it last year, didn't seem to help me much - did warm my perpetually cold feet up from the first session though!
I am tryng reflexology at mo - have been having quite odd feeling in tummy since - am hoping that it may be conception related but reflexologist said that it can quite often bring AF on early after first session Sad

But on plus side, if no BFP this month may be able to start again quicker Smile

Grin at Boba - well look at the list of graduates!!

boba82 · 12/02/2011 12:04

No problem Keziah, maybe I have lucky thread creating skills?! Grin

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Keziahhopes · 11/02/2011 21:49

Have you tried accupuncture or reflexology SBC to help? Not sure what it can do, or if it can help but I have decided to have accupuncture once a week in my ivf treatment and tonight's treatment left me feeling so relaxed so blow the fact or not if it works it is helping me mentally... but know for some people they try such things.

Harry wow, not long now. I remember when you used to do the stats before your bfp, wow!

Boba - just realised you have started the 2 CBFM threads I have been on so please will you start the next one when it needs it (me being very unusally superstitious here!!!!) Grin

Injections, am thankful have no fear of needles... but first one I did in training popped straight out, it bounced so learnt to be a bit slower. Really hope I don't suffer with the side effects.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/02/2011 20:35

Anytime - afraid I have been on the agnus for two years - think I'm gonna give it up and stick with the B6.

I'm sure there's probably loads that have a short LP but never knew and just got BFP without any stresses at all!

I'll google again and see what I get this time - thanks for replying. Wine

AnytimeNOW · 11/02/2011 19:23

SlightlyBabyCrazed have you thought of taking Angus Castus?, I've heard it's really good at extending LP...if you google it there is some forums with success stories, hope that helps Smile.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/02/2011 19:07

Question for anyone that has conceived successfully or knows someone that has that has a short luteal phase - any searches only cover people having trouble with it, but I can't find any success stories - any info anyone?

boba82 · 11/02/2011 18:21

Sorry about AF littlefan, enjoy your well deserved Wine
