storm will be thinking of you on the third....know what you mean about the worry etc; i know if all goes well on wednesday the count down of worry to the 20 week one begins...have you bought any baby stuff yet? xxx

2ww-ers go on have that glass of wine, damned if you do damned if you dont....my 2ww was over christmas and i was pretty sure i was pregnant - i was a bit naughty (well, very actually).

StormBird · 20/02/2011 16:53

Hi Everyone,

Boba my 20 week scan will be on March 7th - when I am in fact 22 weeks (I think)!!! Looking forward to getting that over and done with - hoping for a good outcome and also hoping that if we do have a good scan I can finally start to relax into the whole pregnancy thing - Still in disbelief, still believe it must be a dream, still waiting for something to go horribly wrong deep down, but fiercly trying to keep up a decent PMA!!!

DP and I definately felt baby kick the other day and it was so nice that DP felt it too. Haven't really felt much in the way of kicks since but I'm sure the rolling feeling I get every now and then must be baby. Just hoping that I can start to properly distinguish between baby and my own body soon. MW said that in normal circumstances I should be able to feel baby move around 10 times a day but as its my first (well the first PG to result in birth we hope) I may not start to feel this properly for another few weeks yet!

Kitty I can ttally sympathise with the way you are feeling about your scans. And have to say that I do not look forward to any of mine (which is a shame). Like you, I'm so afraid of bad news!! But the one thing that has got me through is by using them as milestones.

Good luck to you both ( Boba & Kitty ) for Wednesday. Let us know how you get on.

I have my fingers crossed for those of you on the 2WW - I certainly remember how much it seemed to drag.

Keziah Good luck to you also with the IVF Smile - I'm so pleased something more positive is now happening for you on your TTC journey - I will be following your story avidly.

Much Love

XXX

Ilovekittyelise · 20/02/2011 09:12

kezia thanks for explaining and good luck. im so glad you have finally got the IVF i guess its just waiting now. maybe twins for you!

boba how funny we are the same day. I'm really nervous to be honest, as you may or may not remember i had a T21 pregnancy last year which we ended at 13 and a half weeks. I went into the scan so excited only to be told that the nuchal fold was 5mm, and then the news got worse and worse; so its hard to have the same naieve excitement. I do so hope things will be good for both of us - statistically that is the most likely outcome, keep hold of that and let me know how you get on xxx

PS - am sure I have messed up the chart of where we all are, sorry for that! I deleted some numbers and not sure if I put them back right... but did make Clock a gradute Grin

kitty - I am injecting from day 21 of cycle with suprecur that stops my normal cycle from happening. When af comes (should be now!) I have to phone and about day 7 of next cycle then scan me, internally, to check my lining of womb thin and no follicles. If so I can then inject myself with a stimulating drug as well as the suprecur until I start to grow follicles and hopefully eggs in the,! They scan me and then hopefully there will be eggs to take out! The big tub is 41oz of a protein shake mix I bought to try and grow good eggs. 20g of eggs per pint I make up with milk, which will be a 3rd of my protein needs sorted!!

Hope your scan goes well on Wed kitty and boba

boba82 · 19/02/2011 17:41

keziah sorry about the spots, FX they'll be worth it.

kitty mine's is Wed too, I'm so nervous, are you?

Hello Ladies

Been thinking of you all a lot this week.

keziah sorry to hear about your spots but hey at the least its for all the right reasons. How does the whole thing work now do you have to take the drugs for a certain time and then have eggs taken etc? whats the big tub? sorry im really ignorant and i dont know anything about what you are going through.

KC congrats on your job and im really hoping that this month might be all yours.

boba when is your scan is it this week? mine is wednesday; im thinking of you a lot too.

everyone else be kind to yourselves, enjoy your wine and keep shagging, today might be the day....

aMuminwaiting · 19/02/2011 11:19

after a mammoth 17 days of high I've gone down to low. Is there still a chance I ovulated and the monitor missed it?

fr00tbat · 19/02/2011 08:17

Still nothing, have had cramps, but nothing else, boobs normal and bfn. Did have a bit of spotting 2 days ago- but now gone. Temps have dropped off- saw doctor - have us and bloods booked for after af, tired of waiting now, just want to get started on a fresh cycle.
Congrats clock- cant believe i missed your post, v pleased for you. Big congratulations on the job kc, keeping fingers crossed you x
Ooh hormone spots keziah- you have my sympathy, but sure will be worth it.
Off to reassure confused monitor it is still needed, this cycle has been going on forever!

Keziahhopes · 18/02/2011 17:57

SBC, thanks for the figures... my level is about the same but no one would refer me to an endocrinologist. As it happens we have found out male factors are the issue also, but if our ivf fails then think I will be trying to insist for 3rd time about seeing an endocrinologist. Was it your gp that referred you?

SBC - I know the feeling, used to test all the time. Hope things better very soon!

I am now very spotty, but that is the only side effect so far of my treatment. Definitely caffeine free Brew here and soon I will be having my protein shakes as well, as my big tub arrived today!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 18/02/2011 11:10

Hi Keziah

The lowest level was 600 then up to to 900, they're putting me on a low dose of carboline for 2-3 months then review bloods, may then add metformin to the mix.

Have FC app on 8th March, so will find out then what the score is with the IUI.

Still no AF for me, still got crampy feeling, emotional and spotty - so typically the symptoms of both AF and PG. Couldn't help myself this am and did a test - BFN - but to be expected a it is still actually only 7DPO - think I would have to wait another week if no AF to test again for anything to register Sad

Means I don't wanna risk a Wine just yet, will have to stick with Brew and Biscuit Confused

Keziahhopes · 17/02/2011 20:22

MiniH - yes, definitely for people with longer cycles the monitor starts much later, to suit your own cycle. That is why the first cycle is so important, as it picks you up later to start if you need to.

SBC - great you got that cancellation! It is frustrating about PCOS, but until I saw the 3rd gynaecologist I never knew I probably am on the lower end of a PCOS spectrum. Am very interested about you having medication for your prolactin, as this is something I asked for several times and no dr would refer me to endocrinology, as highest level was only 845... do you mind saying what your levels are? As high prolactin stops conception naturally! Great that you may get a natural bfp now - do you know how long they will try you natural before an IUI? Now you can see if you get any changes on the monitor!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 17/02/2011 18:38

Well, CD28 and no AF yet, got a migraine coming on - never had one before AF before, so still feeling hopeful... got the tingly tum that suggests I will have a delightful visit from auntie preventing me from sleeping tonight Sad

Saw the endocrinologist today - they called me for a cancellation so I could go before my FC appt. Today I find out they have decided I am full PCOS - feel quite let down by NHS. Consultant tells me I should have had more done when they first mentioned it to me 12 years ago! All very confusing - when I had scans done over past two years, through gynae, they said there weren't any and that it had gone!

It explains the lack of peaks on the CBFM though. Good news is that I am being put on some drugs to even my prolactin out which FX will enable a natural conception before they start IUI.

Sorry for long post - it's good to rant - saves me imploding!

SBC

boba82 · 17/02/2011 15:00

Keziah sorry to hear you've been unwell. Hope you're feeling better now? Glad you're putting yourself first too!

KC Congrats on the job Grin Things are starting to go your way. I don't think I had any bleeding after HSG so can't really offer any advice on that front.

Storm WOW! I can't believ you're that far along already. When is your 20 week scan? I have my 12 week scan on Wed, so so nervous for all to be ok.

Level I echo everything keziah said. It actually stops you getting delayed if you need to be seen at a FC as you'll have had all the tests they suggest first. Good to get simple things done @ GP too & it gets the ball rolling so to speak.

Hello to all the newbies

tillydream I know exactly what you mean. I never realised how all encompassing trying for a baby would be. My husband and I were tentatively trying with our first and the first time I bought a pregnancy test it was a BFP. Roll on three years and I've got two miscarriages and what feels like billions of negative OPKs and HCG tests behind me. And I too get so annoyed that EVERYONE around me is pregnant or going in to have their babies after 'not trying'. It feels like a punch in the face to those of us who want it more than anything in the world. I know all these feelings and I think the reason we all have felt these things means you can offload without worrying.
I'm on CD27 and still just the two bars on my monitor. I have some mild cramping today so I think it's going to be a month with no egg at all.

MiniH · 17/02/2011 08:03

Hi, I have been lurking for a little while and although I haven't posted yet I do find reading this really helps put everything into perspective and everyone is so supportive, so I'm hoping you won't mind me joining your board. This is my first cbfm cycle and I am on cd23 and still on low. As my longest cycle has been 39 days I'm thinking it could just be too early, but based on that I may well run out of testing days before it detects anything. Has anyone else had this issue and did you use normal OPKs at the end to try and see the surge? I know the monitor should ask me to start on day 9 next month which shoukd help, but It just seems that for ladies with longer cycles there's a good chance you'll miss it even then. Does the monitor start asking even later than day 9?

Keziahhopes · 16/02/2011 22:40

Hi level - I told them I definitely had no STI's for the same reason, but gp would not refer me for the HSG until I had the swab, sigh! I would ask the gp for the prolactin and fbc and thyroid blood tests (all done at same time) as the issues they raise might be the problem, not a blocked tube etc. Has your dp had a Semen Analysis? My poor dh had to have 3, as that was where the problem lay!

Tilly definitely the right place - we have all had low points here and had support! I am just starting my one(and only, but thankful for one) IVF cycle... it is expensive. If you are under 35 you can egg share at my clinic and get a free cycle apart from the initial appointment costs I think. I am too old for that though. Thinking of you.x

level · 16/02/2011 21:10

Thanks kc - I've not had the full blood count blood test or prolactin blood test (or not to my knowledge). Had a smear but don't know what they checked for. I'll def have no STI as DP and I have been together 16 years and never slept with anyone else (quite unusual these days!)
It looks like the next on the list for me are a scan and HSG.

tilly my DP has banned me from watching one born every minute after if made me cry. How do so many people get pregnant accidentally?!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 16/02/2011 20:36

Hi Tilly if you have a look back through the posts we have all been there.

I started a stress diary around Christmas when I was in that place, helped me put things in perspective. If you can find something else to do to reduce stress - go for it. I go walking, gives me time to think and the exercise helps.

Some are using acupuncture and I have just started reflexology - both good at targetting stress!

Take care x

tillydream · 16/02/2011 19:52

Hi All,

I'm not sure that this is the right place to post and I apologise in advance especially it it causes any upset.

I've had a rubbish day and am just sitting here in tears thinking what the hell is it all about? I DONT mean that I am having dark thoughts or am in any danger to myslef just a really really bad day and all I ''want' is to be pg (like the rest I know, and I'm sorry this sounds so so selfish) and why is it not happening if its unexplained???

Work is major stress, horrible inspection at mo and I think with this level of stress it'll never happen anyway.

We can't afford a third round of IVF and I just wonder what you ladies do when it gets like this?

Hugs to all and a thousand apologies if I've upset anyone. I know we are all desperate for the smae thing, just a bad and emotional day.

Tilly xx

Keziahhopes · 16/02/2011 19:03

Hi level - I am a bit further along the line, also. Before they refer to gynaecology/fertility intervention the Gp ordered:
day 3 and day 21 blood tests
full blood count blood test
prolactin blood test
thyroid blood test (as impaired thyroid or too high a prolactin level can be the reason behind no bfp's)
also Gp ordered a Semen Analysis of male
Gp sent me for a transvaginal scan to check health of uterus etc
Up to date smear and STI tests, especially chlamydia.

Have you had all of the above? Bloods can all be done at once, Semen Analysis is done at hospital (dh or dp to go alone, so no problem with work for you!), smear and STI testing all in one go with the practice nurse. I said I didn't need STI testing, nurse and gp said if you don't have it now, you will have to have it before you have the HSG (to see if tubes blocked etc) and before anyone will give you treatment - so I had all tests and was clear!!

Hope that helps a bit x

level · 16/02/2011 18:15

Hi kc

I've not been back to the docs for the results - got them over the phone. They hadn't bothered to ring me and I'd had my progesterone tested in December! I only know that was OK because I spied it on the screen at my day 3 test.

It's really hard because I'm away most weekends and find it hard to take time off work for an appointment.

I know you're a bit further down the path... what test have you had since the basic bloods and have they given you an ideal when they look at intervention?

Cheers

Loup23 · 16/02/2011 16:54

SBC hope AF stays away... Fx. If she doesn't you should have a Wine and enjoy it!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 16/02/2011 15:29

Good day all.

There are a few of us on the wait (with my late ov not 2w for me!) The cramps have subsided now but have been a bit over-emotional so suspect that AF is just around the corner - due tomorrow

If AF does appear I think I'm finally gonna succumb to Wine this weekend!
