By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Thanks ladies. Spotting has gone almost down to nothing at the moment, thank God, so am just keeping an eye on it. Why does it always have to be so worrying?!

Glad you're going nuts josie :) The nuttier the better, IMO, otherwise what are we all doing here?! And it's good nuts, not bad worry nuts like me - confidence in JSing should always pay off!

crowette really glad your depression has eased and that you've got your housing situation sorted out - yay! Does this mean you get more privacy? Even if not, you could take a leaf out of bb's book and just shag on silently anyway :)

JSing up and down (not literally Grin) since I've been pg - first we were both afraid because of previous very early mc even though we knew that was irrational, then a very good period of lots of JSing once we relaxed, then a few stealth shags over Christmas in other people's houses, and now no shagging until the spotting stops :( It gets very hard not to though, what with all this extra blood flow .... Hmm Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/01/2011 12:24

Welcome back Crowette good to hear that things have sorted themselves out.

Good to have you back too BB Good work on the shagging front Wink. I have sadly been lacking in the JSing dept lately. very un-viroid like of me.

TLL all but holding my breath for you that is turns out okay. Can't really imagine being in your situation, but I can imagine how scarey it is for you.

JosieSmith1 · 06/01/2011 11:45

Fingers crossed TTL (hugs)

Well done for experimental JSing BB and hope scan goes well

vallinnapod · 06/01/2011 11:27

TTL fingers crossed and big hugs sweetie. The female body is a bitch sent to really try us. I hope all is fine xxx

takethatlady · 06/01/2011 10:43

Spotting has turned bright red.

Trying not to freak out. Going to wait until lunchtime. If it's still going on, I'm going back to hospital. Trying to think it's just one of those unexplained pregnancy things and it'll eventually sort itself out. After 6 days of brown spotting I'd sort of got used to it though, and thought it wasn't going to turn red.

BrassicaBabe · 06/01/2011 10:37

Morning lovely viroids. Thanks for the welcome back.

Great news for the scan and the measurment subterfuge dyna

Welcome crackpot. It's nice to have some new blood around Grin

Embrace the madenss josie! Wink Stay chilled for too long and surely you'd explode!

Sorry you've had a tough ride crow Congrats for the new place and getting back on the JSing train. Grin

Wishing you a few pg symptoms for reassurance vallinna, but not so many that you feel crap!

After telling you guys yesterday that our scan is next week, it now turns out we're off for one today. My area doesn't do proper downs screening etc until the second trimester when the results are less accurate Hmm. So we're off for a private nuchal scan this afternoon. Fingers crossed...

Also, in other JSing news, can I just brag a little? GrinWink Since getting knocked up we've had some pretty amazing JSing sessions! I think it's the relief of no longer having to shag according to a calendar. We've mastered new positions and managed to silently shag even though we had guests staying in every room of the house. How proud am I! BlushGrin

vallinnapod · 06/01/2011 09:28

Dyna great news on the scan Grin

GL getting juicy Miff Wink

LOL Josie the madness does strike when you think you are at your most zen!

Sorry you've had a tough time Crow but lovely to have you back :)

As for me...slept from 10-2:45 but then wide awake. Grrrr

Feel a bit vomitous today but think it may be tiredness. Def have tres sore boobs in the nippleage area.

crowette · 06/01/2011 08:56

Hallo ladies! Not been about much or felt like posting due to circumstances here :(
Basically, OH had cold feet about the whole baby thing and no longer want to TTC, on top of our living situation, my depression etc - so I just sort of stopped thinking about it.

BUT (!) we've recently got our own place, my depression has eased as a result (part of it was due to the MC and OH having second thoughts too, so many things have improved) we've had a chat re. TTC and he says that although he's still a bit scared, he knows that he'd love to have a baby with me - that when he saw how upset I was about not having one, he realised he loves me so much he can get over the fear and how when talking to me about it, it makes him less scared.

So, we're back to JSing - we'd got out of the habit as he was scared of me falling pregnant, and also the lack of privacy prevented any type of intimacy. It was his birthday yesterday and I made sure I was looking my best for him when he returned from work and we had a lovely evening Wink

Not even sure what CD I'm on as I took no notice of dates (didn't want to think about it) but think I'm about CD 8/9/10! So gearing up for more JSing over the next few days Grin Feeling old though, as it's DD1's 17th birthday on Sunday Shock I still think of her as my baby!

Aaaannnyway - congrats on all the BFPs!!! It's hard to keep up with who is and isn't PG now! It's wonderful and exciting and I'm so glad you're all still posting in here :) I promise not to go AWOL and will keep up with everything Blushwell - inbetween decorating in this week off work!

JosieSmith1 · 05/01/2011 21:56

Evening all.

In need of a good kippering here. Have 100% convinced myself this is my month. Have actually jst prodded my belly and asked it if there was anyone in there! Blush have had a huge dinner so I look about 6 months pg, really not helping!! Have been very tired and grumpy and although I'm tryin 2 tell myself it signals imminent arrival of ERTD, my head doesn't get it.

I knew I'd bn 2 chilled past few cycles, the madness has come back ten-fold Grin Nelly please go nuts with me Grin

NervousNelly · 05/01/2011 21:19

Miffles and Dyna - stop putting ideas in my head! But I'm fairly sure ERTD is due any second, have had some smearing/spotting today.

Exciting about the scan though Dyna.

Hurrah and welcome back to BB. Sorry you've been so poorly, it sucks doesn't it? All better now I hope :)

Really really tired just now so going to go and tuck my ponies in for the night then early to bed for me. Working from home tomorrow so will try to chat more then Grin

SingingMog · 05/01/2011 20:02

Oh and Miffs LOL at "natural juices", cos it made me think of fruit juice!!!

SingingMog · 05/01/2011 20:00

Not English, but music crackpot! Noisy and exciting, lots of singing Grin but exams are mainly coursework-based, which proved hassle-some.

Brassica glad to hear from you, sounds like you have been run ragged over the hols.

Vallinna I too am wondering whether to bother with The Jab. Even if docs have any left I couldn't get an appt till next week. By then if any kids at school have got it then it will be too late.

Yay for all the scans and levels! Fingers crossed for those on 2ww xxx

Dynababy · 05/01/2011 19:59

Thanks Miffs due date is now 20th July. Good luck on the shagathon!!

Miffles · 05/01/2011 19:42

x-posts Dyna - that's great news about your scan. Wow - it must be so amazing to see your little baby moving and heart beating. And reassuring about Downs too. What's your due date?

OP posts:
Miffles · 05/01/2011 19:41

Welcome back BB !! So glad you're back in the fold. Sounds like you've had quite a rough few weeks though. Back to normality now, hopefully.

Nelly - good to hear from you too. Glad you got some riding in. You never know, your PMT could turn out to be pg-related grumps. Tiredness, hormones, all that. Fingers crossed. But I find it helps to prepare myself for the red-fecker before it arrives. :) Easter - not yet, please!!

Crackpot - you are spot on about doing a "kitten". She was very sweet, but came and went within about 2 days, leaving us all gasping in her wake! Vallinna, BB and TTL have been here a long time (how long girls?), I've been around about 6 months and trying 6 months longer than that. So although we were really pleased for her, it was a bit quick!!

No news from the Miffles household. DH is out at rugby practice tonight - hope hes' not too mashed up, as our SWI gets started tomorrow. Trying for CD10, 12, 14 and 16 again. Might give the preseed a go, but not sure I can really face it. You have to fill a syringe and squirt it up before you get going Confused Hmm Not had a problem with natural juices, tbh, so may not bother. Wonder how Milanomum is for that matter - she was all for the preseed!!

Got a text from a v cclose friend - gave birth today. week and half early. Really pleased for her, but still Envy. Baby girl to her 21 month DS. Sigh

Dynababy · 05/01/2011 19:33

Hello! Welcome back BB as you can see we've bee shoutng out to you! Hope you feel a very warm welcome back to the viroid fold! Your catalogue of illness sounds positively awful! Poor you! Glad your coming to terms with everything though and if it helps I do also feel like I don't want to turn into someone who constantly speaks in baby voice and loses the ability to have adult conversation Grin

Valinna very pleased to hear your levels are all good, very exciting!

In my world 12 week scan today, and went really well...panicked a bit at the start as couldn't see bean but it was because he/she was doing a headstand!! After a bit of probe prodding bean wriggled round to more visible position and all good, measured 12 weeks exactly which is one day more than we thought, thin nuchal fold and much dancing! Got some cute pics too so well chuffed for now. One annoying thing was that I couldn't get the fold measurement formally noted and blood test to give me a risk factor for downs as midwife forgot to sign form at booking appt and they wouldn't do it on my say so alone ..annoying red tape but I did make sure they talked me through it all and did a measurement to at least tell me..so much relief!

Josie waiting for your news either way its sounding good, NN I'm not counting you out on basis of PMT - month I got BFP think I was a bit of a pysco as usual (for the few days before at least..) Grin

takethatlady · 05/01/2011 13:25

Yeah, DH never even came home so I think he's not got the flu anyway. He hasn't been sleeping well (it may have something to do with my restless pregnancy legs, tickly cough, and new-found ability to snore my head off Grin) so he might just be knackered.

Hello again too to nervous! bb I only encountered one child over Christmas who was 19 months. She was very cute but also made me realise I have no parenting skills. She kept dipping her hand into my dad's pint of ale and drinking it from her fingers, as well as stealing Quality Street and when she was told to return them she ran into the cupboard under the stairs, shut herself in there, and ate them before anyone could stop her Grin. I thought maybe I should do something but I didn't know what ... My babies are going to be drunk and disorderly by the time they're two, I know it!

vallinnapod · 05/01/2011 11:06

BB!!!

TTL not trivialising the flu jab, I am sure it is something you probably should have and if you did get flu it would be horrible (esp as you can't really take anything for it). Lady I sit next to at work is 5.5 months preg and had flu over crimbo that then developed into sinusitus. There was never any baby worry, just general feeling like shit worry! I have waffled...basically have it if you can, don't stress until then!

BrassicaBabe · 05/01/2011 11:03

Yeah vallinna!!!! Grin Even though I've been AWOL you've been in my thoughts. Huge sticky congratulations! Do the other embroys get deep frozen for use in a couple of years when you fancy another go?

Whoop for the BFP too mogs!

Miffles I caught on my second round of clomid if that helps?

PMSL for the egg/sperm chat, cat peeing and water pistol pee shooting at everyone who upsets us Grin

Well, I'm 11+3 now. I'm getting used to the idea now. Although I'm not quite ready to be filed on the "excited" shelf Wink Scan is booked for next Wednesday. Not too impressed at the weight gain though. It's creeping on way too quickly. I just feel like a fat bloater. We've pretty much told everyone now. Telling people/talking about it helps me get used to the idea too. Although having my 16 month old nephew stay over xmas didn't help me "get with the programme" Hmm. Do I really have to adopt a tone of voice that makes you sound like you've had a full frontal lobotomy when baby comes along?! ShockHmm

JosieSmith1 · 05/01/2011 09:37

Welcome back to Nelly and Brassica, was actually wondering about you this morning, spooky! Glad you got to ride Nelly, I?ve been out for a couple of little walks, feels so great! Sounds like you?ve been busy Brassica, hope the rush and illnesses have settled down and you?re feeling better now

Last night I had a dream about a woman finding out she was pg and immediately developing a cute little baby bump, and me sitting wondering if I?m possibly pg [not impressed emoticon] I?m exhausted today and feeling a bit run down (obviously symptoms Grin)

takethatlady · 05/01/2011 09:30

bb! Hello hello! Glad you're back - was worrying about you. Just the usual festive backlog, I see ... hope all is going well. How many weeks are you now? I am 15 1/2 weeks, spotting, flu dodging, and generally over the MS (apart from the odd violent chuck up).

Thanks vallinna :) No point worrying about it anyway, I suppose ...

BrassicaBabe · 05/01/2011 09:08

Helloooo!!!!!! 'Tis I! Grin

I've had heavy cold, MS, swine flu, pukey tummy bug (not MS), baby-panics, Xmas, 10 for Xmas dinner AND Mum and Dad staying for a week over Xmas!!! It was all more than I could bare!

Off to catch up. Back in a bit
x

vallinnapod · 05/01/2011 09:03

TTL I've had similar flu jab issues. I can get it atmy docs but just can't get an appt that fits around work. Boots and the 2 private clinics I tried wouldn't do it under 12 weeks - which makes alarm bells ring so am thinking of giving it a miss. If that MN chat with the flu man is anything to go by the flu season is 7 weeks long and now at least 5 weeks in...

takethatlady · 05/01/2011 08:27

esk my mum has on several occasions asked or hinted that she'd like to be at the birth. Luckily she lives 2 hours away and we won't be telling her I've gone into labour - just that the baby is born. Otherwise she will be driving up immediately. What is wrong with people?!

vallinna yip yip about your HCG levels. They rise differently for different people anyway so I'm sure all is great, and 10th is only 5 days away (I know, 5 days is ages when you're waiting) so soon you'll be six weeks, the baby will be fully tucked in, and you can celebrate your upduffedness!

I am pissed off because I tried to get the flu jab before Christmas and it had run out, tried to get it at my mum's GP (run out), tried to get it this week at my own GP (run out), and Boots/Tesco won't give it to you if you're pregnant. Now DH is coming home from school with dizziness, lightheadedness, and sore throat. I also woke up with a sore throat ... Hmm

localcrackpot · 04/01/2011 21:21

'lo all :) thanks for all the hellos. is "doing a kitten" getting upduffed within seconds of introducing onesself?

singingmog are you by any chance an english teacher? all sounds remarkably familiar to me. latest work gem is any piece of coursework which doesn't match that child's fftd grade is going to be redone with me 1:1 in my own time. when HoD said that I cried, but now some time has passed I'm glad I didn't point and laugh. I'd rather be regularly upduffed and enjoying some maternity leave with some pink and wriggly ones.

anyway, in the spirit of viroids I necked a bit of emmenthal and am having a nice pot of stewed yorkshire tea. in truth I didn't even think about the cheese, but then I'm only on CD9 of 30, so it's academic.

eskarina that's dreadful news, but I think we might have just targeted your birth plan pee offensive... bit alarmed by the prospect of in laws "having a look in" mid-birth. my ILs can keep their eyes well out of my chuff, whether I'm babylicious or not. (shudder)

bit knackered after first day back. hope you're all having a good time. on shagwatch, been too knackered even to catch the lad with his kit off in clothes-to-jamas transition. may jump him while he's asleep later, got to keep one's end up (arf).
