By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

So, I go away for a week and what happens?!
BB so good to 'see' you again and OMG twins - fantastic! It'll be amazing...tiring, but amazing Wink
TTL sorry to hear you're having stressful spotting - just when you relax a bit, eh? It sounds like everything's ok though from the scan so hopefully it'll stop soon.
Mog congrats! Grin
vallinna glad to hear things seem to be going well - fingers crossed for Monday!

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and freaking out. Sicky feeling is not as strong as it was and boobs not as tender as before, but I read it's normal that they 'normalise' around this time. Have scan in a week and a half so just need to hang in there. Unfortunately I look like I'm about 5 months pregnant already (it's my 2nd) so don't know how I'm going to hide it at work for 2 weeks - 'went heavy on the mince pies' might work?

Miffles · 07/01/2011 19:57

Already started on the wine!! Tee hee...we opened one bottle DH was given for Christmas. It was poor - so both said "life's too short to drink bad wine" as we poured it down the sink!

Ooo... Vallinna - scan on Monday. Will you be able to see if it's twins by that stage? Exciting.

Sorry to hear Nelly and Josie are back to square one again. It is hard isn't it? We'll keep cheering each other on. :)

Well done on keeping calm, TTL. Although your description was a bit like hearing about a snooker game!

Truffkin - don't worry, I'm not worrying about my weight. Not really anyway. And I weigh closer to 11 stone at the mo - I mentioned putting on a stone, but that was on top of the contentment weight! And I'm a short arse. But hey, I'm healthy.

Sorry josie :(

Get plastered, that's what I say :)

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 19:35

The fat lady appears 2 b warmin her vocal chords Sad. Got all excited thinkin I had made a huge mistake with temps, but I haven't, it's definitely dropped Sad.

On the other hand, I can have a drink this weekend (sorry 2 all the pg people!)

takethatlady · 07/01/2011 18:00

Oh vallinna how great you have a scan on Monday :) I bet it'll be lovely. Maybe double loveliness like bb Grin

Back with brown again now. Getting a bit hacked off with all this red-brown-red-brown-nothing-brown-pink malarkey. Still, after reading up on google I'm just glad nothing's green Shock Also hacked off that on further reflection one of the tops makes me look like my gran, so that's going back tomorrow!

Oh all you ladies with the wine, I am so Envy I want WINE...

(vallinna, 3rd October, 3 vodka and cokes after work in the grad bar on campus. Not even a glamorous cocktail, like yours, but still a memory to treasure Wink)

Truffkin · 07/01/2011 17:52

Vallinna very exciting about your scan, I hope you can look forward to seeing your little bean more than worry about it. I know easier said than done, will be getting excited on your behalf!

Nervous mmmmmmm wiiiine!

On that note, am off to meet Mr T in the pub for a cheeky drink. The weekend starts here people!

vallinnapod · 07/01/2011 17:48

LOL Nervous by only craving so far (beside meat by the ton!) has been really heavy red wine! Am completely abstaining until at least 12 weeks due to being a paranoid freak about everything (and I am secretly hoping I can outlast that. But, spoken like a true alcoholic, I can totally remember - and mentally savour - my last drinks (30th Oct, hotel bar, 3 cocktails, divine!)

Sorry ladies I feel like my weight thing was a nah-nah-na-nah-na which it wasn't meant to be :( I gym and run a lot (because I enjoy both) and have to really watch what I eat, but much less so now on the metformin. Which makes me think my PCOS symptoms would have been more typical had I not been a disciplined freak from the get go!

TTL - hang on in there. I am sure things are fine. Do you have an appt with anyone soon? Everything crossed for you.

Have my scan on Monday to see if the applepip is in the right place. I want to cry whenever I think about it. And then get more stressed because I am worrying IYSWIM... :(

I tell you, I think this worry starts TTC and continues until they are at least 18!

NervousNelly · 07/01/2011 17:24

X-post truff. you've just reminded me of the No 1 reason to be happy to see the red fecker- Wwwwwiiiiinnnnnnne Grin Grin Grin

NervousNelly · 07/01/2011 17:21

Yes miffles ERTD is here. Oh joy.

Truffkin · 07/01/2011 17:18

Oh Josie not a fabulous day for you then, hope the biscuits helped you to feel better and remember it's not over yet!

Miffles I'm giving you a good hard slap for thinking that you are overweight at 10 stone - surely not?! Shock (although I am a person who does not pay much mind to the 'traditional' view of what weight is attractive and have been everything from a size 10 to a size 16 and back again over the years, so do feel free to ignore me completely!)

TakeThat yur shopping trip sounds lovely but Sad at more red. Hope you can get it sorted so you know that nothing is wrong. Like Vallinna said some people do bleed and it's quite normal, I know my sister and SIL both had red blood during their pregnancies and everything was absolutely fine. for you my lovely.

I'm so glad it's Friday people, am heading home shortly for my much needed weekend! This week has been tough going after such a lovely (and long) Christmas break. We have a surprise 60th birthday party for my MIL tomorrow night so am looking forward to that, otherwise I shall be mostly chilling out and drinking wine!

takethatlady · 07/01/2011 16:52

Hey ladies, sorry I went awol. I went shopping to bluewater with my lovely sil and spent way too much. The good news-i bought a gorgeous jumper dress which shows off my bump, maternity jeans, and some lovely cardigans and tops. The bad news - there's more red and I feel sort of saddle sore. Not been riding horses, bikes or dh, so don't know what that's about.

Yay for happy twinnage bb! And so glad your dh loves it and has delivery experience, even if it is with farm animals. I weigh same as vallinna but sil is 6 stone and 4 foot 11 so I feel like a farm animal myself...

On phone and picking up dh so more later...

Miffles · 07/01/2011 16:36

It's just over 9 stone and about 57kg. I was when I was married. Then contentment took a hold. Then came off the pill, PCOS kicked in and ballooned!! Well, a stone anyway. Now keep thinking I need to lose weight, but the ups and downs of TTC make it hard. So hats off to you Vallinna

Also Nickel - thought I ran into you on another thread. I called out, but I think you'd already disappeared. You alright?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 07/01/2011 16:22

Trying badly to figure out 127lb in kgs. I think it's roughly half so joining Miffles in the wistful look.

I used to work shift work, 5 days on in 7 so have noo problem with not working on weekdays, or trundling into the pub at 10pm having just walked out the door at work. Well at least it used to be no problem, in the dim distant past that didn't involve children. Hmm

Miffles · 07/01/2011 15:53

127lb... that is a dim and distant memory....

Josie - did it taste metallic?!

And Nelly , has your ERTD arrived properly yet?

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 15:35

I'm terrible for eating too many biscuits/choccy, I actually have a reputation at work Blush

Miffles I had a jacket potato with beans and cheese. The potato was nice and fluffy but the whole thing was bland (maybe my tastebuds are off Wink, ever an optimist Grin)

vallinnapod · 07/01/2011 14:56

ARGH - stop with the biscuits!

I have been uber-strict with the low-GI diet since egg collection (help to control PCOS 'weight' along with the Metformin). Def working as still only 127lbs but lord did I want crips yesterday!

Since egg collection I had completely lost my appetite and had to make a effort to eat, REALLY unlike me! I put it down to everything being swollen therefore my stomach not getting much room and the damn wind/constipation. As of yesterday my appetite has returned with a vengence so having to be very careful!!

Miffles · 07/01/2011 14:08

Resting on rest days is a bit of a skill. I always feel like a fraud too. I have to work some Sats, then get an afternoon in the week in lue (sp?). And whenever I'm off during the week, I feel I ought to be working - esp cos DH is working. Also get a bit bored with the TV!!

Oooo...pub lunch. That should've been nice, and even more disappointing if not. What did you have?

Just heard that 2 people died yesterday at the hospital where I work, from flu (prob swine flu). Both had no underlying conditions and one girl was only 22. Shock Finding it really quite scary. I've had the flu jab cos of asthma, but worrying about my sisters and family.

OP posts:
crowette · 07/01/2011 13:54

I've always felt guilty about doing nothing on days off - but it's rest time, so why not rest?! I'll feel better for it, and will not have anytime off work until April now (makes note to book birthday time off)

I can finish the decorating over the weekend, with OH here to help me.

Ooooh biscuits, sounds like a great idea to me ... hmmm, I have some bourbons and custard creams somewhere!

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 13:32

Crow that sounds like a fab holiday! I used to cram everything into my hols - decorating, gutting the house, clearing out cupboards etc but when I've been off over xmas I've literally just watched telly, played on the computer and did whatever I liked. I haven't had any ironed clothes this week as I did no ironing so suffering the effects now but I don't care, I really needed a complete rest and it did the trick!

Told DH about my temp going down, he was a bit miffed buthe knows better than to coddle me so he let it go. Had lunch at the pub and it wasn't very nice, and took ages. Good job I have plenty of biscuits to keep me going this afternoon Grin

crowette · 07/01/2011 13:06

Ha Miffles sounds like the sort of thing my dad would say! He's rather tactless at times.

I've given up on the painting - am too short to do it neatly without steps. My makeshift ones just broke and OH would kill me if he found out how I was doing it Blush (if the fall didn't!)

I shall have to go on the beg for some steps from my dad Hmm

So I'm making the most of my time off work and treating it as the holiday it's supposed to be, and doing as OH suggested - sitting around doing nothing other than reading, internet, DVDs and drinking tea. And not feeling guitly about it Grin

Miffles · 07/01/2011 11:41

Oh, Crow you have just reminded me what my dad said. Since he knows we're having problems conceiving, but my sister not, he suggested that if she had twins, she could give one to us!! Shock

We were less than impressed, cos he was kind of serious Hmm

Don't go OTT on the painting - slow but sure. And definitely ventilate and eat!

OP posts:
crowette · 07/01/2011 11:37

Yay!! So pleased you're happy with the twin new BB

I mentioned it to my OH and how it was said that twins could be possible in older mothers - he looked faint and said he could do one baby, but two would freak him out - really shook him, bless! I soon assured him that it was very unlikely to happen to us and made him a strong cup of Earl Grey tea ... he 'joked' about giving one away free to a good home if it happened to us, lol!

TTL I hope everything has settled down for you now.

I have to admit to attempting to temp at times, but I wake up a different times every day so it was pointless ... and as for setting the alarm so I can take it and then doze - it doesn't work, once I'm awake, I'm awake Hmm

I'm taking a break form painting at the moment - did the bedroom and hallway ceilings yesterday and remembered why I hate doing ceilings! I got up and made a start on the second coats and the lounge ceiling before even having a coffee ... then felt icky (due to having no drink or brekkie!) so had to stop. I may or may not get around to painting the coving today.

vallinnapod · 07/01/2011 10:32

Fab news BB - PMSL that your DH was way ahead of you due to his bovine expereinces Grin
