By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

yeay1 it's still snowing today! and it snowed al lthe way through the night, too.

Nothing is open - PO people didn't even bother going in - postmen got sent home at half 9.
(so DH is standing here in the shop chatting...)

The town was rather busy first thing - people doing their Nuclear hops, and I had one customer - he spent £32, for his granddaughter, because he'd been turned away from the train station and thought he'd do his christmas shop on the way home.

Noone else, though.

Sent emails to a couple of customers about the lack of post office service.

Can't decide what time to close - maybe about 3:30 when it starts to get dark.

milano POAS now!! Xmas Grin

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 02/12/2010 10:12

BB holding lots of good thoughts for you. DO go and see someone if you are worried, it's what they're there for :)

I am vicariously loving all the horsey talk, as am a total townie but with a secret hankering for horse riding lessons (too many readings of Black Beauty as a child, methinks). Impressed with the dedication shown in the face of snow. We had some more last night which at least made it a bit less slippery walking into work.

Mog I like your plan. Last time I got to enjoy Christmas with all the booze and runny cheese I could stomach, as I had no idea I was pg. This time (hopefully) it will be Schloer and cheddar. And probably me doing all the driving. DH will be delighted!

Miffles · 02/12/2010 09:06

Nickel - enough snow for you Xmas Grin!!! Snow day here...and I know north Kent have a bigger dump and even more forecast for today. Yay!!!

Mog - I would so go with what you're doing. Good idea to plan drunkenness...it will not be the same on the 2ww. Part of me would kind of like to take the month off too, but then this is the first month of actually trying!!! Day 28 is Dec 23rd, so will know either way by then, I'd have thought. And sure that if I am pg, I won't mind in the slightest abstaining (hmmmm...who am I kidding?!)

Loving vallinna's heroin addiction.

Oops - that doesn't sound so good!

Any news from milano or BB?

And TTL - stuff work!! Stay at home in the warm. Xmas Smile

Hey ladies,

Really sorry for those of you struggling in the snow. There's hardly any here but loads where I work. I was meant to go in today to observe a (senior) colleague and emailed him to say I didn't want another epic journey and could I do it next week. He's emailed back pretty pissed off tbh. Would like to say 'I'm pregnant and 6 hours of driving on ice every day to get to work is not my idea of fun' but instead said I'm so sorry/I'm an idiot/DH has car/made a mistake blah blah blah. Xmas Hmm

miffles good luck with timing shags and dildo cams, and vallinna, good luck with turning your heroin addiction into a baby Xmas Grin. It's all very technical with the timings, isn't it? Except for mog who's just scheduling in drunkenness Xmas Grin. Good work!

bb how are you today? I second/third the idea that you should go and get checked out, but definitely try to be reassured that a bit of brown spotting is likely to be nothing. Lie to the EPU if you have to and say it's ongoing even if it's stopped and you might get a scan Xmas Smile How far along are you now?

So hard not to worry, isn't it? I'm 10+3 today and the baby has entered the foetal stage which means the mc rate has dropped really low, but my ms has more or less eased off (did throw up a chocolate cheesecake before bed last night though). Appetite back. I should be enjoying this, but of course I'm not ...

SingingMog · 01/12/2010 23:17

Gosh lots of goings on and my brain can't really keep up as had school trip followed by Year 7 parents' evening tonight.... am dog tired!

Hope all the poorly people feel better soon.

Milano, sounds v odd. Agree with all suggestions above.

BB agree you should speak to someone to put your mind at rest, otherwise you might dwell on it and feel unnecessary stress.

AF is here in Mogland and has brought her cramps with her. Think will avoid JSing at opportune moment next month as then can get plastered over Christmas and New Year without craziness of 2ww. Although you know I will still be crazy no matter what, cos it's not like I can go a month without Xmas Wink. Mooncup is in sporadic use... will give report later! DH has asked me to stop giving him TMI about the mooncup Xmas Grin.

P.S. I want a snowday, but it's not too bad here. I'm knackered and no petrol, so have to get up early tomorrow to defrost car and go to fill up. Gah. I am so moan-y this evening, sorry.

Miffles · 01/12/2010 22:07

Thanks - DH will be happy. He loves a morning shag! Xmas Grin

Have a look at a chat page I just started Here

It's about the new WHO guidelines on SA. As you know, DH has poor swimmers - or maybe not as bad as we thought!! There is hope!!

NervousNelly · 01/12/2010 21:54

OOOH I retract my suggestion, and defer to vallina's unlimited expertise on this subject

NervousNelly · 01/12/2010 21:53

Yeah miffs - agree with after. Otherwise there might be LeftOvers Xmas Grin

vallinnapod · 01/12/2010 21:46

Miffles shagging doesn't effect dildo cam but the conducting gel effects sperm so def shag before and make sure they are aware it is a fertile day as they will then not use the conducting gel.

milanomum · 01/12/2010 20:29

BB I second the suggestion to go see someone just to put your mind at ease.

Nickle Bloody post office work-shy lot. It's just a bit of snow!

josie and nelly lol at your horsey antics in the snow!

vallinna you go right ahead and be self-centred! Stupid feckin doctors.

We only have a bit of snow over here but they say there's more on the way so i went out and bought DD a snowsuit :)
I really can't bring myself to test - it's freaky but I prefer to be in denial for the moment ( although taking FA and vits just in case) I'll test Monday. Maybe. I need to know if it's the shag-a-thon week or not.
Have just slightly sore boobs and felt nauseous yesterday for a bit but also have usual homornal spots and no other symptoms.
Confused

Miffs I'd JS after the dildo cam if I were you... just...well...because :) .

Miffles · 01/12/2010 20:18

Sorry - had to just try that out!!

Been busy on here today - and me at work where can't check.

BB - really keeping everything crossed for you - even my legs for the next 2 days! (as my next shag is planned for Friday, then Monday, then Wednesday. You understand!!) You can surely still speak to your consultant, can't you? Although I have heard that some spotting isn't a problem, I appreciate you must be peeing yourself.

Vallina you're such a sensitive soul Xmas Wink

Desparately trying to keep warm. Have DH's dressing gown and wooly hoodie wrapped around me. Nickel - I think you may be getting some more snow. Much worse in West Kent today, wasn't it?

Envy at escape -although am enjoying the novelty at the moment and it does look beautiful.

Really feeling for Nelly and Josie going out to their horses in this weather. Think you're daft, but then I'm a townie!!

Oh and Milano you've got to PIAR, surely!!

BB - do you think it matters in the slightest that a) the period before I took my clomid only lasted 2 days with a spotting day before and one after? b) I didn't take the clomid at the same time of day (kept forgetting!) and c) we've been told to JS on CD12, which is dildo-cam day. Should we do it before or after? Thanks hun.

Xmas Grin Christmas!!!!

BrassicaBabe · 01/12/2010 17:33

Thanks guys. Trying not to worry.

nervous I was thinking exactly the same for milano Grin

NervousNelly · 01/12/2010 17:17

Oh BB keeping everything crossed for you. Have I not heard that brown spotting means old blood therefore not a worry? Ignore me if that's wrong as I'm not very experienced in this field.

Milanomum - would you be at all interested in POAS, by any chance? I know it's unlikely given last month's events, but maybe possible?

Nickle - very irritating about the post office. But if it makes you feel better, a postie hasn't been near us in days anyway. I'm sure your customers will understand. It's just a shame that your OH has wasted the trip. Suggest a quick phonecall first!

Josie - ah yes, always fun to watch them careering about jumping gates. Mine were hilarious rolling in the snow. The first went down, then lifted her head bolt upright in shock as if to say "Fuck me. That's DEEP". They can't actually roll over, as once they lie down, they've created a wall of snow, so the other one just stuck her head in it and snuffled about. So cute :)

23C escape? Xmas Envy

vallinnapod · 01/12/2010 17:16

...lurking...and completely self-centred at the moment...

E2 levels all over the shop here...prize comment of the day 'You're really sensitive to changes in the levels of drugs'...no shite Sherlock...

Oh well, up to 100 for the next two days with scan and bloods on Friday. At least my veins get a day off. I look like I have a great heroin habit.

BB try not to worry, am sure it is nothing. Can you see someone to alay any fears?

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 01/12/2010 16:47

Hmm milano very strange...

milanomum · 01/12/2010 16:28

Brassica hope it's ok. Brown spotting is very normal...

My AF has disappeared. it lasted 1 day. Hmm

JosieSmith1 · 01/12/2010 16:22

Oh Brassica, fingers crossed everything's ok

Nickel it is ridiculous isn't it, it's not just me? We're shutting the office and I'm being forced out the door, if some punter comes down later and complains that the office was shut I'm taking no responsibility with head office. But DH who was supposed to finish at 4 is going to be stuck at work till 5.45pm so I'm gonna have to wait for him to help me get my car out before we can go to the yard. He happily suggested I stay at work and wait for him! Yeah, that sounds fun!

BrassicaBabe · 01/12/2010 16:17

Brown spotting here Confused

Trying to remember that is happens quite commonly and forget the last MC Sad

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 01/12/2010 15:57

talking of POs - our Post Office [boomboom] has shut early for the second day running - DH has just been up there to post 8 packets for me, and had to come back! yesterday he tried it with 4 (was after 5, though & it was supposed to shut at half 5) - it's not even 4 o'clock - where the hell do they all live if they need 3 hours to get home???? Angry

8 packets! all my internet orders. :(

Angry fopr you too Josie - ridiculous isn't it.

JosieSmith1 · 01/12/2010 15:48

Well I'm very Angry. All the POs are being sent home if they can cancel their appts, but us lowly admin have to stay, that's not fair! Especially considering they can all just go home and put their feet up, I have to walk home then drive to the yard! It's pretty inconsiderate if you ask me AngryAngry

Escapeartist if I could send you the snow I would! It's actually not too cold either, at least it wasn't until today. Normally by now I'm begging for a balaclava as my face gets really cold but it's pretty warm considering how much snow we've got. Hope you feel better soon

Nelly I know that knackered feeling! I have to manually flex horsey's joints and she rests on me! I'll have biceps like muscle woman soon Grin Had major problems with them yesterday as I put a friend's 2 out and they were winding up one of the big 17hh lads who promptly ran through the fence then jumped over a 7 bar gate to go and play Shock. All ok in the end though (except yard owner who wasn't very happy Grin)

escapeartist · 01/12/2010 13:52

So jealous of all the snow (though not jealous of all the cold!!) Still v warm here, 23 degrees and fairly sunny, but home sick with tonsillitis, so not all fun and games. Was sick with a temp on Monday but had organised a trip to the Nat Hist Museum for Tuesday and was the only teacher (and 3 assistants) with 32 kids, so could not call in sick.

That was fun, not! Now feeling grotty and staying in bed, hoping the lurgy will go away.

Eskarina I always thought it would be so darn hard to be with kids all day, then go home to more kids. I have seen people do it, some well other badly. I have seen teachers be very short with their kids, as having used all their patience at work... My school did have a nursery in the past, where staff would leave babies as young as 3 months old, then go down and breastfeed at break times - if that doesn't sound like a nightmare I don't know what does!

NervousNelly · 01/12/2010 13:37

Goodness - some very high-brow debate going on here Grin.

I'm at home - have been all week. Sadly though I have the technology to work from home - as you can see I'm very busy! 2ft of snow outside. Taking care of the horses is knackering me, so kind of hoping I won't end up up-diffed this month Hmm.

It's very very pretty though :) Lack of outside contact means not much in the way of conversation from me. Who is next to test?

Eskarina · 01/12/2010 13:22

Afternoon viroids.
Lol at Nickel asking us about ovulating. Seems that's the very essence of JSing
I'm not snowed in, in fact we had about 3 flakes yesterday and that was it. I want to know where my share is!
Having said that I'm off work with a nasty cold anyway so a snow day would make no difference to me today.
I thought I'd blinded myself during the night. I put Olbas Oil on a clean sock to sniff to clear my sinuses so I could sleep. I woke up at some unearthly hour to find the whole right side of my face on fire. The wretched sock had plastered itself to my eye socket. Couldn't open my right eye and I'm really right side dominant - my left eye is really lazy and I can't open it if the right is closed. Spent about 10 minutes in our freezing little bathroom bathing it with warm water and trying anything to wash it all off. Eventually could open eye again.
Am sticking with Vicks Vaporub from now on!
Clearly not much JSing going on with a cold like this one!

Escapeartist I'm an EY teacher too. Hadn't thought of working with littlies all day then coming home to a baby as a consideration. I always thought I would go back to work FT as I do enjoy my job, and , being a teacher, it's as family friendly as you can get holidays wise. But seeing 2 of my friends bring up their children as SAHMs and how well the kids do in terms of language and how close their bond is, I wonder if I'd be doing them and me a huge disservice by working. So if it ever happens I think I'd probably look at working PT (though there was a very scary poster on a thread recently who was insistent that teachers should never be PT and that job sharing teachers were the work of the devil selfish, not thinking of the children etc etc. She did get shouted down though Grin)

JosieSmith1 · 01/12/2010 11:39

Morning everyone

It's a bloody blizzard here today! I walk to work but when I tried to park my car at home this morning (after being to yard) I got it stuck, so my poor Bertie is abandoned! Sad He's almost in his usual space though so I'm sure he'll be happy enough Grin

I'd love to be a SAHM, I hate working to start with, it just mucks everything up, but for financial reasons I can't even afford the full year maternity leave so I will be back at work full time as soon as I can Sad. Would love to stay at home, providing of course I could palm the baby off on an unsuspecting babysitter and go riding Grin. Seriously though, I always thought I'd just go straight back to work but the chances are you'll miss out on loads and I now think your kids are way more important than work. Money always gets in the way
