By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Miffles that's brilliant! Grin

so, I take it you're ovulating on the right now?

happy shagging! Xmas Grin

SnowMiffles · 06/12/2010 16:39

Oh yeah, oh yeah.

I have not one but two dominant follicles!! The Miff may be about to ovulate!! Yeah baby yeah!!

The radiographer was lovely....apparently I have a nicely thickened uterus lining (10mm) no uterus abnormalities. My right ovary, after she located it behind my bowel (Hmm)had 2 dominant follicles - one 20mm and the other 16mm. The left had none, and just looked polycystic. But both normal size.

So the morning shag was well timed. Am v tempted to try again tomorrow, but the doc said day 12 and 14, which is Wed. Don't want to risk all 3 days due to DH's lack of swimmers. Think we'll save them up for Wed morning!! Xmas Grin

Xmas Grin
SnowMiffles · 06/12/2010 14:19

Milano I hadn't read your name outloud and so hadn't twigged that you're Milan-o-mum. As in a mum who lives in Milan. Doh! Xmas Blush In my head it's Mil-ar-no. Sigh...

milanomum · 06/12/2010 13:59

miffles good luck today!

milanomum · 06/12/2010 13:59
SnowMiffles · 06/12/2010 13:49

Thanks guys - will be glad when it's done and know that things are working right.

Yes, hadn't really twigged til I woke up at 4.30am again this morning SO hot that it was the clomid. DH suggested it might be when I woke him up stressed! It's happened the last 4 or 5 nights, and I was blaming DH for setting the heating for the morning, thinking that was why I was sweating. But it's about 4am, not 6.30am....Poor chap!

LOL at nickel and the baby stealing.

Glad the follicles are still present and correct vallinna

takethatlady · 06/12/2010 13:36

vallinna you are definitely the JS Queen - have a crown to go with that halo Xmas Smile

I bet you end up with triplets out of those three follicles Xmas Grin.

vallinnapod · 06/12/2010 13:25

Welcome tory

I have in fact worked out despite breaking EVERY rule going I am the ONLY just shagging just shagger on here as there is no way any of my shags can get me up duffed Grin

More scan and blood today, follicles growing still I believe - just the fabled 3 talked about though (some get like 20...although, it only takes one I know, I know...)

GL Miffs - I am sure you'll be 'bubbling' away - and if you are not they can up the dose! Plus you are having side-effects so they must be doing something!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/12/2010 12:38

Been trying to get on here all day, finally manage it, catch up with all the posts and now I have to leave the house to walk into town with DS cause DH is waiting for us and I have to get cards in the post so they don't miss the cut off.

Not much going on here otherwise. I finally have prunes and they are working their magic Grin

It's been snowing all day and I'm worried the local schools will be shut tomorrow. DS is due to start playgroup tomorrow so I really don't want school closures.

Right it's my turn to get a grip (on DS by the sounds of it ) stop wibbling about nothing and get on with it.

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 06/12/2010 12:15

Xmas Grin i guessed! Xmas Grin

takethatlady · 06/12/2010 12:14

Ha ha nickel cross-post there. Your grinning santas were Christmassy, not your baby stealing Xmas Grin

takethatlady · 06/12/2010 12:13

nickel that is so Christmassy. Makes me want eggnog and a mince pie right now :)

Good luck with dildocam miffles. Hope those follicles are follicling away nicely.

Today I have convinced myself I am no longer pregnant because I slept all the way to the alarm for only the second time since pg. I have GOT to get a grip Xmas Blush

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 06/12/2010 12:11

we went to Bluewater on sunday afternoon to do some Christmas shopping (santa's bringing me and DH a Lego winter Toy shop Xmas Grin )

anyway, we were walking through House of fraser, and this woman said to her little boy "ooh, look, there's daddy!" I assume they'd split up...) and the little boy did that insane happiest boy in the world giggle that they do (he was about 2 i think), and I got all emotional (in a gooood way). I said to DH "we could just steal one" and he agreed, so if you see a shopkeep and DH on the news for baby-stealing, you'll know it's me! Xmas GrinXmas Blush

Miffles good luck with your dildo cam this afternoon - I'll have my fingers crossed for you that it goes nice and smoothly (literally!)

SnowMiffles · 06/12/2010 11:57

Feeling bit nervous....got my ultrasound (AKA dildo cam Wink ) this afternoon to see if I've got any follicles. Bit apprehensive about the procedure and in case the drugs aren't working.

Figured out my night sweats are due to clomid, so at least I'm not going crazy!

Truffkin · 06/12/2010 00:15

Has anyone seen the secret santa thread in 'Christmas'? It's made me feel all warm and fuzzy! Will be keeping an eye out next year so I can join in!

Dynababy · 05/12/2010 22:40

Esk don't count yourself out until the ERTD erm ...flows!! What a pain re carpet and cashmere! Have a Christmas bear to cheer you up [fbear]

Dynababy · 05/12/2010 22:35

Milano congrats have a celebratory mock tail!! Woo hoo! Xmas Grin

I've been blowing my cover again..out for lunch with friends at a new place that is byob and we didn't know so I was pleased as I thought that meant I'd be like everyone else and not drinking then my friend suggested going for a glass of wine somewhere else after .... I said yes but mumbled something about writing up some reports for work tonight so wasn't going to drink. Sure they're all adding up my excuses in their heads knowing up up the duff!! Oh well!!

Thanks for all advice re whether to tell work, I know most have said tell but still feel really hesitant and wondering what the odds are of having to pull another all nighter soon ... I'll mull it over and meantime keep shtumm. Did tell one colleague though as ms has got me now ... ran to bathroom in the middle of eating a yohurt Friday morning and they gave me a knowing look so I just nodded and said pls keep it QT..

Vallina sorry you are feeling down, sure when you move onto the next stage you'll get excited and that'll bring you out from under the cloud. As everyone else said its natural you'll feel worn down by it at times but you've done really well and will continue to.

Welcome Tory79 2ww always soooo long good luck! Maybe try and distract yourself with some festivities? Xmas Smile

Who is next in line for some fest tests??

Night nigh viroids!

Eskarina · 05/12/2010 21:51

Well there's a good way to waste a large part of your evening and a lot of wine. I've just finished cleaning our carpet having poured best part of a (full) glass of red wine over it. Tried to clean it with most of a bottle of white wine. It mostly worked, but now is not the time to discover that the bottle of Vanish carpet spray that has been in the way in the cupboard under the sink for who-knows-how-long is in fact virtuay empty.
I was so busy on the carpet that I didn't notice that my (cashmere) jumper had splashes all over it too. Fortunately they came out pretty easily.

Perhaps this is a sign that I should stop drinking altogether whilst TTC? Or perhaps I'm just clumsy. I honestly don't drink much at all - just a glass or two with a meal at the weekend.

Now very grumpy, as am also convinced that we're heading for BFN this month, despite knowing that we timed all the 'J'S-ing right. Angry

milanomum · 05/12/2010 21:48

Weeellll, there's so much to do/see but depends what kind of holiday. What about...
A. Chilled out, lakeside holiday - Lake Garda is lovely or Como (but they are doing work on the lake-side there so not as nice as it usually is)
B. Sea-side retreat - Sorrento (right next to the Amalfi coast) which is just lovely and you can get the ferry to Capri from there. You could also go visit Naples but as it's a bit scary, shouty-type city, you might not want to. Pompeii us just up the road too.
C. Cultural geeky-type holiday -Fly into Pisa, hire a car and drive around Tuscany staying in the wonderful Agriturismos (farm houses)and visiting gorgeous little villages.

I'd personally recommend Sorrento - I lived in Naples for a long time and it's the most beautiful area. It's also really tourist-friendly.
Let me know when you decide and I'll give you a few tips Smile

NervousNelly · 05/12/2010 20:40

Just lurking as still on iPhone. Can't remember if I said a branch came down and snapped our phone line in half Angry. No festive hat for that one!

Got car out for first time in a week today! Went to brunch with OH's sis and their wee boy who us nearly 1. He's so cute Xmas Smile.

Fed up typing now. Mwahs all round Grin

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 05/12/2010 19:12

Yay for chilledness milano :) While you're here, can I be cheeky and ask your advice? We're hoping to take a trip to Italy next spring but have no idea whereabouts to go. There's so much variety and so many amazing looking places, I get confused Blush Any recommendations for two adults and a toddler to enjoy a nice, relaxed holiday?

milanomum · 05/12/2010 17:33

vallinna what brightstar said. You are fecking amazing and I wish you all the luck going. I hope things went well today.

tory thanks for assisting with the tecchie problem and welcome!

truffs 2 words: Shag cape Grin

I am really chilled out at the minute about the whole thing - i did that test yesterday evening and the lines just came up immediately so that can only be a good thing. I can't stop things going wrong so am trying to be very zen. We'll see how long it'll last!

tory79 · 05/12/2010 16:40

Thanks for the welcome all, I am just entering the 2ww here....why is it that the 2ww lasts 10 times as long as the 2 weeks preceeding it, which seem to go in a flash?!

Literally, today is the first day and already I can see time slowing down before my very eyes Confused

Just a bit of background, DH and I are TTC#1 for us, but he already has a daughter from a previous (short!) relationship! His ex got preganant about 4 weeks after they starting seeing each other which is another reason I am trying extra hard to stay calm about how long it might take us to ttc, otherwise I'll spend all my time wailing about how its not fair!
