By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Same old here, bloods, scans, 3 follies lalalalala

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 07/12/2010 12:46

Snowy i'm on AF right now - it came very slowly and i got all excited, but it then came with a vengeance.
I am tempted to test anyway Blush I'm in such a grumpy state of mind and my body doesn't feel nomral.

plus, i know i've become a bit fatter round the middle (although that's most likely because DH keeps giving me crisps) Xmas Grin

NervousNelly · 07/12/2010 12:42

Cross post Miffles. Errrr - yes Blush. Tis nasty. 'Nuff said.

NervousNelly · 07/12/2010 12:40

Oh NMCB no water really is bad. We have water coming in but not going out as our drains appear to be frozen Xmas Shock. So you can have a shower, but then you are standing in inches of water which you have to scoop into a bucket and tip outside. Luckily our downstairs loo has a different outflow and that's working. Re flushing your loo, you can do that. Get some snow melted on the hob, then pour it into your cistern. Bit of a faff but at least useful if it's an ahem smelly one Wink. Can't help much with the shower other than boiling snow for a wash Hmm. Such a pain isn't it?

LOL at [nickel] crying at Scrubs! I've done that, but then I always cry at telly but not real life.

Forgot to add another "symptom". Very very bad PMT. But I'm also rationalising this as being exacerbated by the extreme tiredness. Thanks all for stoking the fires of 2ww madness though Xmas Wink.

SnowMiffles · 07/12/2010 12:35

ha ha ha Nickel - I have so been there and done that! DH knows what I'm like now and just hugs me and gently laughs at me, whilst telling me we will get our baby. Who was it that reminded us that there isn't a finite number of babies to go round?

PanicKing. Got it. Thanks.

When are you due AF, Nickel? Test anyway, just to get some practice in!

Nelly - are you saying you were bleeding from being bunged up? Nasty! Could be implantation bleeding though Xmas Grin

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 07/12/2010 12:19

snow - you have to put a k in panicking. Xmas Grin

Nelly - that sounds quite interesting - keep us posted (viroids are like the first time since 3rd year seniors that you can talk about periods in public!)

I've gone all pathetic again - DH went to visit his mum last night, so I sat down to watch Scrubs for 2 hours (old series and then new series later on E4 Xmas Grin )
anyway, in the new series, Elliott is pregnant. I was watching for a while, and suddenly just started crying Blush - not real crying, but the kind where your chin wobbles and the tears fall even though you don't want to cry.
Anyway, then I felt :( , so I went and fetched the poorly blanket. when DH came in, he went "oh, are you poorly?" and I sobbed "no, i'm miserable" he asked why, and said "cos Elliott's pregnant!" . this was DH's face > ConfusedConfused
then I had to explain that Elliott was a character on scrubs. BlushBlush

all i want to do is POAS.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 07/12/2010 12:18

NN Do you have running water? If so I'll swap you my central heating for running water. I'd love to flush the loo and have a shower!

Miffs haven't seen BB since her last post here.

SnowMiffles · 07/12/2010 11:50

Wow - Nelly hadn't twigged you're in Edinburgh...have been seeing it on the news a lot. Will now worry about you every time I hear about people trapped in the snow...glad you're staying in today.

Symptoms sound positive, Nelly.....Xmas Wink

Thanks for all the encouragement egg-fest-wise. Am still chuffed. Looking forward to doing the deed again tomorrow, but panicing (TTL that spelling really doesn't look right - what should it be?) that if I ovulated today the sperm won't have survived from yesterday and may be too late tomorrow. But if did it today, then DH may not have enough left for tomorrow!!! Golly - it does you're head in! Did wonder about OPKs....but heard not accurate. May invest for next month.

LOL at TTL's Sad face for no sex dreams!! I always wake up feeling a bit dirty if I have a sex dream...Will be glad once you've had the reassurance of your next scan. Even though you've already had one!!

truffkin - who's Garden? Confused. Have I missed a viroid? Or is it me being dim again about a nickname. Good luck with the shag-athon. Have you got a new shag cape for the occasion?

eskarina - what is your ovary scan for? After yesterday, I'd add another worry to your list d) can't find ovary. I had to push down hard on the side of my stomach to make my ovary appear from behind my bowel Blush Grin. Peepo!!

Would love the idea of twins...will be glad not to have to go through this stress again. Although you ladies are lovely and are making it so much easier!

Still not heard from BB in a while. Really hope she's ok. NMCB or TTL has she been on the graduate thread?

Josie - you still in one piece too? Not fallen in a snow drift somewhere or collapsed from exhaustion?

NervousNelly · 07/12/2010 11:20

Hi All

Just thought I'd drop in to say hi from a very very cold Edinburgh. Don't know if any of you have observed the chaos over the last 24 hours up here? I spent 5 hours in my car yesterday getting to and from work (it's 15 miles each way) which pales into insignificance when I tell you a colleague spent over 17 hours trying to get from Edinburgh to Glasgow yesterday. She left the office at 12.45 and got home about 5am or something. She said it was -12 overnight whilst she was stuck in her car. It's just madness. So today I am working from home Grin. But we are low on Gas (live in the country so we have a tank) so I haven't put the heating on. Just an electric heater, brrrrrr. Need to go and fill another hot water bottle! Or maybe get some Clomid, if it makes you warm Xmas Grin.

On the plus side, BT amazingly got our phone line re-connected in pretty quick time, so am back on proper laptop. I've missed heaps. I've been lurking and reading and enjoying :) Especially the Egg-fests, good luck to Vallina and Miffles.

I'm only a few (3?) days away from ERTD being due. This morning (waaayyy TMI alert) I thought it was game over as I wiped to find blood. However that didn't feel right - too soon, plus I didn't "feel" like the red-fecker had started. So anyway, safe to say that I need prunes too Blush. Not pleasant.

Don't think I'll get a BFP this month. I have a couple of "symptoms" but they are easily explained. Nasty spots - this one is a bit abnormal but I've been hibernating a bit lately so could be poor diet. Unbelievably tired - but that'll be down to taking care of my horses in the snow. . The above mentioned bunged-up-ness. And err that's about it, so expecting disappointment again :(

Hope you are all well (and warm). Think it's about time I booked a holiday to warmer climes! How many weeks PG are you ok to go on a flight? Positive thinking and all that Xmas Wink.

takethatlady · 07/12/2010 10:20

Xmas Grin milano. I made the mistake of watching 16 and Pregnant on Sunday and the baby was just too big (only 7lb 8oz though) to come out. After 24 hours of screaming her face off the girl had to have a C-section ... I did NOT know that they could grow so big they can't come out! Eeek.

Liking the tree mog but more intrigued by the half a dog beneath it Xmas Grin

miff and vallinna happy egg-hunting Xmas Smile

Paranoia setting in here. 9 days to scan. Did throw up a bit of mozzarella last night but generally the ms has eased right off. Boobs sore but not as much as before. Woke up early again this morning so that's good, but no more sex dreams Xmas Sad. On second thoughts, that might be because I actually JSed on Sunday, for the first time in aaaaaages. Still, if I didn't have to go to bloody work I would be at Toys R Us buying a doppler so I can check for the heartbeat...

milanomum · 07/12/2010 08:19

Morning all!

I said the same thing about work with DD - "How will they manage without me" "I'll go back to work as soon as possible* etc. etc. Then I spent 6 months trying to work out how I could avoid going back to work and eventually went part time :)
Birth isn't that scary. Perfectly do-able, and well, it's got to come out, right?

Truffkin · 06/12/2010 23:17

Woo hoo Mifflington great news for you my love, enjoy that SWIing.

NoMore I think we can let you off and blame baby brain! The sickness is something I am really not looking forward to. I love my food and it's just so strange to stop liking your (previous!) favourite things.

Our shagathon starts tomorrow for the week. Not in the same league as Garden's mammoth efforts but really the first month we've planned it together instead of me knowing the timing and either stealthily instigating romance Grin at the right time or giving DH general timing feedback. Am determined that we will have a gold star from FF this month!

Vallinna I'd be Envy at twinz as would love the idea of only one pg and birth for both DCs! I'd love 2 sprogs but am not excited about the thought of being pg, am nervous about being away from work for more than a couple of weeks and simply terrified at the idea of giving birth. I realise how I sound but it's all quite difficult to imagine really Confused

SingingMog · 06/12/2010 23:04

Oh and I put photo of my tree up on profile Xmas Grin!

SingingMog · 06/12/2010 23:04

Grin Vallinna, the thought of being away from my department at school for any length of time scares me (return to chaos etc), so think I would quite like just one maternity leave! Am a bit of a control freak.

Eskarina I can understand why a) and b) are worrying you more, but can't explain why...

Yay to BrightStar and officialduff!

Closing at 1pm NMCB, must be frustrating. I would quite like a snow day tomorrow so I don't have to have a long day. Don't think we'll get one tho!

Night night x

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/12/2010 21:41

oh actually looking at this Xmas Sad that is what my toes felt like in my gumboots this afternoon!

tory79 · 06/12/2010 21:40

NMCB I don't think I would believe anyone who said 100% it didn't matter! Once you've decided you want something its surely only human nature to do whatever you can to get it!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/12/2010 21:35

Oh yes BrightStar felling crap is indeed a good sign. It's so bloody perverse! I threw up sausage tonight because I bent over, ergo I know bump is happy Hmm Anyway Very exciting about making official with the Docs Grin

My last post really was waffly and self indulged wasn't it?! No playgroup for DS until next week now (assuming it doesn't snow next Monday). DH rang just as I had left the house with DS to say that the shopping centre in town was closing, so we missed the post. It was 1pm!!! Still we trudged into town, bought DS the last pair of water proof trousers in his size in town (luckily that shop wasn't in the mall!) and had hot chocolate by a heater (no open fires sadly Xmas Sad).

DS looked so cute in his big baggy trousers, up to his waist in the snow though.

I would just like to say, Hello and welcome, to Miff's right ovary. My sister knew someone who after a vasectomy had a sperm count of 5 (thus considered infertile) and ended up with another kid, so Mr Miff you only need a couple of good swimmers. Happy shagging GrinWink

Also looking forward to E Day Vallinna. Those drugs will surely kick in enough very soon.

Tory sounds like you've been lurking long enough to know that Just Shagging really is just a myth (esp now Frak has stopped kippering people regularly). OPK or no OPK a Shag Cape is still considered essential kit though.

I'm feeling very expansive today. Waffle Waffle waffle and very little sense I feel. I blame the several inches of snow that has settled on my brain today.

[fbear]

Eskarina · 06/12/2010 21:22

Oooh yes, twins Grin. I have a pair in my class at the moment and they're gorgeous! (sorry Vallinna!)
Loving all the tales of christmas decorations going up. We tried to buy our tree on Saturday but DH insists that we have one of the old-fashioned needle-dropping types and apparently they're stuck on a lorry in Scotland still so we have to wait til next week.
Star V exciting that it all gets made official!

I've got my ovary scan on thurs. Am terrified I a) forget about it completely or b) forget to drink enough and they send me away. C) is that they find out then and there that there's something terrible wrong with me and I'll never conceive. Strangely enough a & b are worrying me far more at the moment.

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 06/12/2010 20:16

Miffles yeehah, saddle up and get boning Xmas Grin That is brilliant news. Also keeping fingers crossed for vallinna having a soon egg collection day (if that makes any sense Xmas Hmm).

Twins, eh? [fear] My friend had identical twin boys at the start of this year, they are like cute little peas in a pod. She's very relaxed about it but I don't think it's been a walk in the park so far - they were early, had terrible reflux and are now showing some fairly serious food allergies. But they are soooooo cute.

Not much to report here: my brain is mush, my boobs hurt and I am zonked despite not having done much today. Going to the doc on Wednesday to make it official Fingers crossed that feeling crap is a sign the little'un is settling in well.

vallinnapod · 06/12/2010 20:02

LOL Mog - I think that's how long it takes towards the end of any pregnancy! I am not very keen on twins but DH doesn't mind. The IVF takes us from 1-2% chance of having them to 24% chance. This is with all fingers crossed that it works at all! I only want 2 so the thought of one maternity leave makes me feel cheated Grin

SingingMog · 06/12/2010 19:35

Ooo Vallinna imagine twins... one of my friends had them (after IVF) and it took her about 15 mins to walk up the stairs to the bathroom near the end of the pg! On the plus side - only one birth. Bring on E-Day Smile

Sound like you have a baby-filled few days ahead tory79. 2ww is defo the longest 2 weeks ever. I just paid up for VIP FF membership today, free trial ran out... not following rules either Xmas Blush

Xmas Grin for SnowMiffs and the dominant follicles. Am now imagining eggs fighting to be the most dominatrix-like. I clearly need help!

Mmm prunes NMCB! Hope you can get to playgroup tomorrow.

Dyna maybe you've just got duffage-paranoia and they didn't even notice?! Just go back to the old thread and re-read TTL's tips on pulling the wool over suspicious eyes!

Eskarina - poo at having to waste wine on the carpet.

I have put the tree up! DH agrees it looks nice Xmas Smile Decoration and creativity is my department at home (he does maths). Fa la la la la, la la la la! And yes, am counting down days till hols (break up on 17th, so 9 more get ups), but late night tomorrow AND on Thursday (will leave house at 7.30am and get back at about 10pm each day), so that is going to knacker me out. Anyway, sorry for long post. Might try and put pic of tree up on profile, is v Christmassy and cheerful!

vallinnapod · 06/12/2010 18:58
tory79 · 06/12/2010 18:15

Wow great news miffles!!!!

Vallina thanks for the welcome

Dyna not sure how well I will be able to distract myself over the next couple of weeks, as aside from getting the tree up my main social events include going to meet my brand new goddaughter and attending a 2nd birthday for my friends little girl Hmm so I think babies are going to be very much on my mind.

In breaking news, I think actually saw a clock go backwards today..... probably because tomorrow will hopefully give my 3rd high temp for ff to confirm ovulation....having said that I have been struck down by my first cold of the season so who knows how much those temps really mean.

Good job I am calm and unconcerned hey! Grin

Dynababy · 06/12/2010 17:37

Woo hoo miffles go get yourself some while the follicles are ripe!! Fingers crossed for you!
